Overall, it was a good experience. Not only did they replace a complex water heater installation, they looked for the shut-off to the house which was in the crawl space about 2/3 of the way to far end of the house. They also checked the hot water recirculation pump. I was very satisfied.

He was professional in both appearance and manner, and the work was performed cleanly and quickly. He did an outstanding job explaining the issues and the solution, and he was very diligent in cleaning up afterwards.

It went great. It is an older house, and the crawl space access was difficult. But the plumber did a great job. He explained his plan and kept me up to date.

I had a leaky laundry supply valve and with new washer scheduled to be installed later in the week it was time to have the leak fixed. I had not used the services of a plumber for 15+ years so I found this company on Angies List. I called on Tuesday and they came out on Thursday and quickly repaired the leak and gave advise on some other plumbing questions I had. Excellent, friendly and reasonable service. Would definitely use them again.

Terrible. These guys failed leak test 3 times!! My entire basement was flooded each time. The electricians were working on site during one of the leak tests and they were laughing saying they had never seen anything like it before. They forgot to glue several joints. The worst part is they kept finding leaks all over the house. One unresolved problem we have is that the bathtub drain is very slow. Not sure what they did wrong.

Pros - Very responsive and helpful on the phone. Flexible scheduling. End result was good. Pleasant worker. Cons - Arrived 20+ minutes late (They did, however, call at the scheduled start time to inform me they were running late), the work seemed to have taken a bit longer than it should have (A big deal when you're billed by time). Other - Drywall cut wasn't very good, which made a harder patch job for me, but I won't mark a plumber down for drywall. Would have liked to have seen a threaded end point for the bath faucet instead of a standard end, so I don't have to put a threaded end on it myself. To be fair, I didn't specifically ask for this. Didn't have a 3/4" to 1/2" copper reducer with him on the initial call, which seems like a standard piece to have... I'll probably call another service next time I'm in need, but not because they didn't do a good job. I just didn't love it and there are a lot of options out there.

First, I had them put in a gas line from the house to a fire pit. The guy that came out was late and didn't want to dig the trench. So we dug the trench so he could drop a gas line in and hook it up. We then argued about the height out of the ground. I told the guy the fire pit would be no more than 18" above the ground, and the pipe would be 22" and need to be cut down. Fast forward to the hook up call... They call me at 824am (Supposed to be here at 830am) to tell me they "aren't sure they have the tools to do the hook up and that I need to send the tech pictures of the pipe. I send this guy pictures and he immediately calls me back and tells me basically I can't cut the line and the only way to do the install is to dig up the line and "Move it". The pipe is buried under 18" of dirt and now covered by pavers and a patio (Hence the term 'built in fire pit'). By this point I'm beyond angry and "Bruce" the manager gets on and tries to tell me I'm screwed. Never mind they were supposed to be here by now and the answer I get to the basic question "What are you going to do to make this right" - "The tech that installed it isn't here and I will see what I can do" (E.g. Screw you). In short walk away from these guys. They are unprofessional, unreliable and LAZY!!!!

Since we have a busy family and I had to turn our water off we needed the service completed right away. As it turned out it was after normal business hours (about 6PM). After I called the South County plumber was at our house in about 45 mins. He got right to work and attached an extra piece of pipe (soldered). He also installed the toilet which I could have done but since he was here we had him do that too. Everything looks great and most importantly it's water tight now that the water is back on. He did a good job. If I could have waited until the following day I would have since the cost of after hours work is 1.5x normal rate. That's pretty standard though. I have a house full of family so water is constantly needed for cooking, bathing, etc....so we chose to get 'er done stat.
Description of Work: I had South County lengthen an inbound pipe to a toilet. It was way too short to mount the necessary hardware on.

Our very expensive freestanding resin bath tub developed a long crack and was leaking. We got the tub company to give us a deep discount on a replacement tub, but because they didn't make the same tub any more, we had to go with something similar. You know how that goes, "something similar" actually required different plumbing. South County Plumbing sent someone out to take a look before they made a bid. We got 3 bids, including one from Jim Dandy, which was nearly twice the amount of South County! We did need to schedule 2-weeks out. But the day of the work, South County sent 4-5 guys to heft this weighty tub into place. The plumbing was more complicated than originally thought, and the job could not finished in one day. They ordered a part from the tub manufacturer, which took 1-1/2 weeks. Then they returned with 2 plumbers and finished the job. Overall, we were pleased with the service. The nitpicky thing is, the faucet is no longer centered on the tub.

They were the worst experience I'd ever had. They busted a pipe upstairs and caused $15000.00 water damage in my house, so that was not a good experience. The guy did not turn off the water at the main. He turned of the water at the you know right upon the toilet which he was replacing thing and a water efficiency toilet and he managed to break off the pipe behind the safety you know turn off switch, and then water dash all over the house until he was able to go outside and find out where the master turn off place was by that time there's water going everywhere.
Description of Work: I bought it with a discount so it was suppose to be like $400.00 of plumbing work for $200.00 or something. I furnished the toilets. They replaced a toilet upstairs in the bathroom to a water efficient toilet.

South County was quick to respond and came out in a day, at the time planned. Work lasted about 3 1/2 hours, which included chasing a part (we were not charged for that). Cost included labor and parts, with an Angie's List discount. Courteous, pleasant and efficient worker. We highly recommend.
Description of Work: 4 projects were done: Kitchen faucet repaired; ice maker connector on refrigerator; bathroom shutoff valve and washers replaced; leak on bathtub showerhead fixed. The last was a difficult job since 38 year-old parts no longer available.

The technician was late by 45 minutes. He called me 15 min after the appointment time saying he cannot bring up my address in his GPS. My address shows up in my car GPS and my phone GPS. He may have old GPS. But any way, I wish he had contacted me earlier. It was within regular business hour. I contacted them 3 days before and they called me back for appointment one day before. I picked first appoint in the morning so that I don't get pushed off by other appointments in the day,.....He identified the problems quickly and fixed them quickly. The repair took half an hour. Charge was $190 labour + material. It seems that they charged 1 hour labor in any way. ( minimum charge?) Good thing was that he did not try to replace the valve. He figured out just tightening the nut would fix the leak. That must have saved some money. As the result, two toilets that were not working well got fixed and seems to be working ok. One toilet that was working ok got worse the flapper and the lever got replaced for just in case. Now, after flushing, I have to put my hands in the tank to close the flapper by hand every time (this is a brand new flapper). I will talk to the service provider. I hope it was just a bad day for the technician and they come back for taking care of this.

I was contacted by my HOA saying that our two-unit townhouse was having a serious water usage problem as shown by the water meter readings. Water was being used 24 hours a day. They suggested that 10 drops of food coloring be put into the tank to see if the coloring went into the bowl, which would indicate a leak. I discovered that two of my three toilets were probably leaking. I found a list of nearby plumbing companies on Angie's List and selected two to contact. I reached South County Plumbing first and they were able to send someone that same afternoon. The repairman called to say he was about 10 minutes away and arrived about 15 minutes earlier than the 3pm appointment time. I showed him all three toilets and he confirmed that the two were leaking. Fortunately, they only needed replacement parts to fix the issues. This was completed within one hour at a price I felt was very fair for parts and labor. Also received the 10% Angie's List member's discount. I wish I could remember his name because the repairman was very friendly, extremely helpful, and made me feel comfortable during the time he was here. Before he left, he made a point of checking my water meter to make sure that there were no other leaks. Thank you very much.

We have used South County Plumbing since moving into this house in 1987. Throughout the years they have always been prompt, courteous and well informed. We always feel like they have our best interests at heart; this visit was no exception. Our service provider was prompt and very knowledgeable. The charge for the work was fair for the time spent, and everything is as good as new, which in a house built in the early 70's is something to say.
Description of Work: We had outdated faucets that were starting to leak. Our service provider searched out parts for us so that we would not have to replace everything (and by everything, I mean EVERYTHING).

Joel was great! Because it was an off hours call, the minimum was 1 hour. The original problem took only about 20 minutes to fix, so Joel just kept saying "Ok, what do you want me to do now?" to make sure that I got my full hour's worth of service. He was super friendly and super nice.
Description of Work: Changed a dual-shutoff valve under my sink, changed the P-trap under one bathroom sink, figured out that the reason for my 10 times higher than normal water usage was a leak in my main line between the meter and my house.

, Called with a bad leak from faucet into cupboard below just before Christmas. Tech managed to cove over that day. Faulty faucet hose was discovered but could not be repaired. He ordered a new one and made an appointment to return the day after Christams to install it. He did, as scheduled. I was billed for the hose and only a half hour time despite two visits. This is out second experience with South County. The first (installation of two faucets) was more expensive but equally flawless and professional. I have been recommending them to friends and colleagues. They are honest, incredibly responsive and hypercompetent.

I called on a Friday, expecting to have to wait until the following week, but they were able to send a repairman out the same day. He showed us what he was doing every step of the way, and was friendly and efficient. I'm still amazed at the amount of utility repair bills, which in this case came out to about $420 hr., but short of having a plumber or electrician as a family member, whatcha' gonna' do?

Joel was very personalbe, and very efficient, even though there were complications! I watched, because I was curious, and he answered all my questions. The vertical wood corner siding of the house overlapped the front bib, so he carefully cut away enough to get the old faucet off, and the new one in place. Cut through the drywall in the garage to access the inner portion. Neatly cut piece removed, will be easy for us to replace and tape the drywall.

Spoke with Larry who provided information on water heater leak repair options, costs and current discounts. Scheduled a weekend evening emergency appointment, Larry took the time to call me back to let me know tech running a little later he was still on another job. Kurt the tech diagnosed the water leak related to the water heater valve which was good to hear thinking we would need to replace a water heater that evening. He provided a contact to dry out the carpet and walls showing me potential damaged area. We have used South County Plumbing multiple times Larry and Kurt are always very professional, knowledgeable and provide excellent service.
Description of Work: Fixed a leaky water heater valve and helped contact a company to dry out the carpet and walls.
