South County Plumbing

The story is short and sweet. Les, the journeyman/master plumber bid the job so he knew exactly what needed to be done. When I completed my due diligence and had three bids in hand, I called him and read him the description of services that another well known Seattle plumbing company had provided me. We agreed that the services and materials provided by both companies were the same and then I agreed to have Les and South County Plumbing do the work. Les and a helper came and put in a long day of work. Les came back the following day and finished the job. When it was all said and done the work was excellent and so was the price. I was able to save my 86 year old mother-in-law a good chunk of change, as the other bids were almost twice as much.

On time, quality work, price as estimated.

One of the installed faucets was cross-threaded, resulting in a leak in an interior wall. The leak was discovered by a crew that was installing floor insulation. South County replaced the cross-threaded faucet and covered the cost of having the floor and walls dried out. They refused to pay for the replacement of the water-damaged drywall. The person who did the work was defensive and argumentative. The supervisor promised to call back about replacing the drywall. He never called.

After finding sewage draining into my crawl space, I called them at 6:30 AM. There was a plumber on site by 8:00. Job was done by 11:00 AM. The plumber was very efficient and competent and the bill was much less than expected.

Arrived when promised. Explained work done. Was at the house about 1 hour. Friendly and courteous service. Asked for and received 10% senior discount.

We had South County come out to install a new Asko dishwasher. They removed the old one, brought the new one up from the basement, installed new water supply valves and capped off the old plumbing connections. The were unable to finish the installation of the new dishwasher, however, because the old dishwasher had a hard-wired electrical connection and came up through the floor beneath it. This setup wouldn't work for the new dishwasher and they indicated we would need an electrician to come and remove the old electrical wiring and install an outlet for the new dishwashers plug. I installed the new wiring and outlet myself and finished installing the dishwasher per the instructions left by South County. It went in great with just one piece I needed to make in order for the drain to connect to the disposal. It's been working flawlessly since.

I think they did a pretty good job. I did think that their price was a little high but their quality of work was worth it. They did use used parts on my sink so they tried to keep the cost down.

The company provided fast, reasonable and quality work. Unfortunately, I do not recall the cost. I will definitely call them again as I am quite pleased with their overall approach. They were pleasant and did the job as stated.

They checked every possibility, but there were no signs of what caused the water damage. Cause is still unknown, because it happened while I was on vacation and hasn't occurred since.

They charged a travel charge of $35.00. The service was fine but the price of the service was a bit expensive. Would have been $180.22, but gave me a Angie's List discount.

I needed someone to come as soon as possible because I was trying to do all kitchen things in the bathtub. When I called, they were very pleasant and said they'd have someone out in about an hour and a half. He arrived on time, set right to work, and completed the job.

The only hiccup in the process was that he could not do the job at the first scheduled appointment. This is understandable since our house is a custom home built in 1963 and many aspects of it are not standard. He said that he needed to bring some additional tools. I called the next day and rescheduled, and on our next appointment he showed up on time and completed the job. I also appreciate the fact that he taped up some loose duct work that he found under the house while he was there.

The company tried to come as soon as they could. But they were good with managing expectations by explaining when they would try and when they could actually make it to my house. The plumber ask me a lot of good questions before beginning the work to be sure he understood the problem. Once the snake work was complete I saw that the sewer pipe had tree roots in it. The snake had cleared out the roots. I saw them wrapped around the snake. The plumber then advised that I add a clean out box so that the next time (the roots will grow back) the process will be easier. Excellent service, did only what was required. The price for 1 1/2 labor was *very* reasonable.

The only reason I might not use this company again is that after the fact I realized they aren't close. It was the "24 hour emergency service" that caught my eye in your publication.

Tim was great. They thought the wait would be three hours, but he had another call cancel and was over here in about half an hour. He assessed the problem, fixed it not only well, but very quickly. Overall, excellent service and value.

Les from South County was here within 2 hours of my non-emergency call. He was very professional and personable and explained what needed to be done clearly. He completed the work in 1 1/2 hours and charged 169.00 for labor ($119. 1st hour, $25. Each additional 15 min.) and a total of 78.28 for materials. He also took the time to give me estimates on 2 other jobs. I will definitely use them again!

We had to call back after 9:00 PM two days later because the valve started to leak. We were then told by the 2nd repairman that we should really replace the water heater because ours is over 10 years old and the pressure relief valve should not be putting hot water out at the rate it was. They did the work for free, but the first repairman should have stated this fact to us.

Overall an excellent, although expensive, experience. They came at noon after an early morning call reporting a leak under my basin. Very courteous, knowledgeable, staff. Would definitely use them again.

The plumber called first and then arrived at the agreed time. He was polite, professional, quick and left the work area very clean. I would definitely use again for any project.

The rate was $119.00 for the 1st hour plus $25 per 15 minutes thereafter plus materials cost.

We have used South County in the last six years and each time have been very pleased and satisfied with their work. They show up on time and completed the work as promised. The plumbers are always pleasant, courteous and professional.

Price reflects the senior discount. They were prompt, and I thought the serviceman was exceptionally neat. I was very satisfied. Everything works!

TED AND SCOTT WERE ON TIME, WORKED FAST, AND WERE DONE IN TWO HOURS. IN ADDITION TO THE PLUMBING, THEY PUT IN SOME EXTRA FRAMING PIECES TO BRACE THE NEW PIPES. THEY WERE PLEASANT, CLEAN, AND I FEEL THAT THE PRICE WAS VERY FAIR.
