Fixed on schedule and on budget. An expensive error on my part.
Description of Work: Our new "frost-free" self-draining hose bib froze and split in the December cold snap. I had left a "Y" adapter for two hoses on it, with the control valves closed, so apparently there was water trapped inside and the 15 degree nights took care of the rest. But South County came out and replaced it, punctual as always, professional, friendly, and efficient. They are the ones I call for anything "plumbing" at my house.

Twice during a five year period, the sewer backed up into my basement, via the toilet, after very heavy rains. Someone from the City of Edmonds came out and told me that the previous owner was told to install a backflow preventer valve in order to prevent this from occurring, but the work had never been done. I got estimates from two plumbing companies, and went with South County Plumbing because of their rating on Angies List, one personnal referral, and the fact that their bid was $2500 less than my other bid. South County Plumbing came out, dug a 7 foot hole, and installed the backflow preventer valve. There was a bit of a delay in getting the job done, because there was some difficulty getting the right part from the manufacturer, but this was no bid deal to me. The work was done very professionally, and the people I dealt with were all very easy to work with. And, during our very heavy rains last week, I was ever so glad that I had had this work done! I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

I was able to speak with a rep and schedule the service from the first phone call. The promptness for scheduling of services was excellent. They showed up on time with all the necessary equipment and parts necessary to complete the repair in one visit. They were very knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions. They were very friendly and professional and we were able to go about our work undisturbed while they completed the task. The clean up was excellent - it was better than when they got here.

South County Plumbing replaced the waterline from the water meter at the street to the house, approximately 80 feet. The bid they gave reflected the fact that they knew exactly what needed to be done and the bid was by far the lowest of three. They ran the line under the asphalt driveway and the job was done very professionally in less than one day with no mess for me to clean up. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Came out quickly to my business, very responsive. Plumber was a nice guy...knowledgeable. Diagnosed the problem and got right to work. My only issue is they charged approximately $339 for 2 hours labor. I think that's high and will look for another option next time I have a problem.

They sent Jeff out within one half hour and by noon, he had it all fixed and running normally again. It appeared there were some roots in the line and he took off the toilet, removed the roots, reseated the toilet, and cleaned up the bathroom when he was done. My uncle, who has been a landlord for 50 years and does not like to pay for help since he used to be able to do all these things himself, watched Jeff the whole time and said that he definitely knew what he was doing and was even happy with the price, which he usually isn't if it costs more than 50 bucks. This is my second experience with this company and we couldn't be more pleased. No one likes to have plumbing problems but to find a company who comes right out, fixes it, and is on their way is a great thing. Kudos to you South County Plumbing.
Description of Work: My elderly uncle has a rental house that was having toilet drainage problems. He tried to fix it himself using a blow out thing with a hose but it did not fix the problem so I called South County Plumbing at 9:00 a.m. and told them the problem.

Excellent initial response and great service repairing a leaking, defective sink supply valve. One of the connections had a slight leak after they left. Called company, was supposed to have someone come by to fix. Apparently person who did the original work was out sick. After about 6 days and multiple contacts with them I tightened the connection myself and the leak stopped. This was probably an unusual lack of response for them. I will use them again and hope that was the case.

The man from South County arrived and immediately began to work. He was fast, neat, and very kind and helpful. Later, on 12/21/2010, after the insurance company estimated the damage done by the hot water heater, the insurance company had another technician from another company remove the heater itself. After considering what heaters were available from other companies, I called South County to come and put in a new, top-of-the-line water heater. Although that new heater was quite expensive, it came with all the bells and whistles (many back-up systems). The same original plumber from South County did the work and made a beautiful job of it, changing the access point to the water heater's turn off valve and leaving the new water heater and all the new plumbing shiny and clean.(The second job cost me $413.91 in labor and $861.74 for the new heater and all the new plumbing. This was in addition to the $280.87 mentioned above.)
Description of Work: My hot water heater had burst on a Sunday, creating quite a destructive mess. The access to the water turn off valve was extremely difficult. I called South County and they came and turned the water off.

I do not remember the plumber's name so I will call him "Greg". Greg fit me into his schedule at the end of his day. After viewing the mess I had under the kitchen sink, he replaced all the plastic under the sink including the hot and cold water turn-off valves. The faucet was tightened. Greg told me that the faucet had type of fitting that might leak a little bit. He gave me his phone number and told me to call him if it did not stop dripping. The next day there was a slight amount of water under the sink. I called Greg and he advised I give it a few more days. If it didn't stop by then he would need to replace the faucet. The dripping did stop the next day. Greg cleaned up any water remaining. He spent approximately 40 minutes in my house.

We hired So Co Plumbing because of good reviews on Angie's List, a reasonable estimate, and we felt we could work with Les. All of the work was subcontracted to Above All Construction,a company NOT on Angie's List. The job was to take 3 days, starting on July 1. On July 2, we were told that they were taking 4 days off for July 4th - leaving 2 large trenches in the yard, and cutting off access to our back yard water faucet. Work resumed on July 7, was finally completed on July 15. The actual sewer pipe installation was fine, but our yard is a mess. The trenches were deep, and the dirt laying around so long killed all the grass beside the trenches. They also snagged our relatively new water line to the house. It was repaired, but who knows about the strain on the fittings underground? If we had known that the work would be totally subcontracted and that it would take 15 days, we would have hired someone else

Very well...I called in the morning and scheduled a time for later on in the week for them to come. But I received a phone call about one hour later saying they could come that afternoon. They did and when they said they would. The man who came was extremely professional, courteous and clean. We inquired about other work to be done and they looked at everything we asked about and said they would be happy to come by for a formal estimate. I will definitely call them again.

We had a pipe burst in our garage while we were out of town, and our neighbors turned the water off. We called ahead and scheduled them to come on a Sunday so we would have water when we got home. The salesperson suggested that we use Saturday or Monday as it would be much cheaper, which I appreciated. The plumber arrived on time, and completed the work quickly and within the estimate. They might cost slightly more than others, but I will still call them first next time I need a plumber.

Les did a great job. Everything was professional. Had a new water line from meter to garage installed.(55feet) Les punch a hole in the garage. The other oufit pushed a new pipe underground, using gps, to the hole. Les connected the copper and brass fittings up. Excellent sweat joints. You can tell a good plumber by his sweat joints. Whether they are sloppy looking or the perfect shiny lead ring, right at the joint, with no drips. I like to do my own plumbing, carpentry, electrical or whatever fixits and buildits around the house, but this was an experience only job. They had the right tools. The better quality water pipe. Comes in a big coil, called "Pex" pipe. Durable but flexible. You can't buy this at the local hadware store. Everything was a little expensive but had to be done. Well worth the money. These guys were here 830am and gone at 230pm.

We had a leaky faucet in a rental house that needed to be fixed. My brother tried to fix it but just made the leak worse so I called this company and they came out bright and early the next morning. It only took Tim a short time to fix it and he even showed my brother what he could do next time if the same situation occurred with a similar faucet. Overall, it was a very good experience with this company. It was kind of costly for the time spent but all companies like this have a minimum they charge and that's just the industry standard. I would definitely recommend them and use them again.

Initial call was to insert a valve in the PVC line to find the leak. Underground detection company spent 4 hours and 4 visits to finally find the leak next to the house. We thought the line from the meter to the house was all PVC, but it transitioned to Quest blue poly pipe about 80 feet from the house. That pipe is old, brittle, poor quality, and unrepairable so the company replaced that 80 feet run, leaving the other 300 feet of PVC (my choice). Hopefully it will never break because the bids to replace that were over $9,000, about 4 times as much. Finding the transition near the house to copper was a challenge, but the company did a good job, fixed everything including the concrete driveway, and cleaned it all up. The job was done in about 6 hours plus the inspection the next day and the concrete patch after the inspection. Directional boring machine worked out perfectly.

I dealt on both occasions with Len, who was very professional, friendly and efficient. After he came out to do the first leak fix, I was certain that I wanted them to assist on the line replacement. Len came out the week before the job and gave me two estimates: one if I did the trenching work, and the other if they brought in a subcontractor to do the digging. I felt that given the nature of the work and given the price of the estimate - which I thought was very reasonable - that the latter estimate was acceptable. Len set up everything to complete the repair within the week. On the day before the replacement, Len came out and prepared the site, exposed the water main at both meter and home, and did some preparatory digging. He was very sensitive to our concerns about our septic field and was very reassuring that the additional efforts would not impact the estimated cost of the job. On the day of the job, Len worked with the digging crew to quickly pull a new line and had completed all work within a few hours, including replacing materials dug up to make the trench. He even added a shut-off valve and box near our home, which is great since we had no prior shut off other than the meter valve. All work was done quicker than I expected, and all fell within estimate. The damage to our yard and driveway was minimal and certainly far less than I had anticipated. I am very pleased with the work done, would hire them again for future work, and will not hesitate to recommend them to others.
Description of Work: We had a leak somewhere in our aged and sub-standard water main, beneath our driveway. I located one leak myself and had them come out to repair the leak. This did not completely stop the meter from spinning, so I scheduled them to come out and replace the whole main water line to get it up to standards. Since the digging was through hard clay and needed to go around an existing septic system field, I had them subcontract the digging work.

We invited about 4 plumbers to give us bids on our sewer line replacement project and South County's bid was the lowest. In addition, they had the 10% coupon from Angie's List and all the positive reviews gave us the confidence to go with them. Initially, it was another plumbing company that ran their camera through the sewer line and told us they found tree roots, rocks, and some holes in our line. They told us they would send us a DVD of the video so we could see for ourselves, but then never did. After we called around for bids and decided to go with South County, we got a little nervous because we hadn't actually seen for ourselves that the line had problems so my husband called Kurt and asked if he could come out and run the camera through with him present. Kurt was more than willing to and said if we decided not to do the work, he would just charge us for the time to run the camera through the line, but if we did do the work, he would not charge us extra. The next day Kurt and his crew came bright and early with permits ready to go. They used the pipe bursting method to put in the new pipe and were ready for the city inspector by 1PM. By the afternoon, they had filled both large holes and replaced the rockery in our landscaping so it almost looked like nothing had happened (just missing a few plants that did not survive, but can easily be replaced in the spring). I would highly recommend South County.

My old water heater gave out while I was ar work, leaving me with quite a mess when I got home. Used Angies list and called the guys at South County. They showed up as planned the next morning. Showed up with a water heater that was not compatible with my needs though. (I needed a direct vent water heater). He left to get one that would work and returned about a half an hour later with one that met my needs. Installed heater in a couple hours and I'm now enjoying hot showers again. Did a good job overall, thought $480.00 for labor was a little steep though.

I have used them twice. The first time they came out on a weekend and fixed a heating unit for us. I had to pay a fortune for that but I would have paid a fortune to anyone. The next time I needed a seal done on the toilet. They came out the next day and the representative did a really neat and a tidy job. The price was fair. I would use them again. The plumbers are always expensive.
