Chris showed up early for our appointment called me in advance. He was professionally dressed and very personable. He took the time to educate me in EVERY aspect of what was going in with my door and the process that would occur to replace it in the future. He did not pressure me to buy a new door which I appreciated. Because of this I decided not to seek other estimates when we are ready to replace it. Chris is awesome and I beleive he is a reflection of the company he works for. On top of that he performed the service he was there to do quickly. I will be calling to do business with them again. Awesome customer service.

Both my wife and me are perfectionists, and I always get several opinions and quotes. Tyler Chaney from Precision was the first scheduled. After Tyler came, I cancelled the other scheduled companies. He did a thorough examination made a diagnosis. He explained several options, the significance of each in solving the problems and priority of repairs as well as the costs and expected longevity of all door parts. Tyler was so knowledgeable and thorough that I decided he should do the work, including the things he said could wait a while. I am happy that Tyler completed the work. He was attentive to detail, careful and precise - a perfect representative of "Precision Doors."
Description of Work: Wanting to quiet a noisy and vibrating opener, we called Precision for a diagnosis and quote.

I called Precision to give me a price quote for a door replacement, made an appointment, and when the day came, the estimator called and asked if he could come out early. No problem, good communication, and my husband finished his (phone) meeting to find the estimator sitting across the street, waiting for the appointed time. The office person was great to work with, we got the deposit made, and install scheduled. When the day came, Rawlley called and said he was running early, could he come out early? Sure. Good communication again. He arrived, got to work, and finished the work pretty quickly. He did a great job, paid a great deal of attention to detail, and made sure we were happy with the work. He was lovely to have around, and he did a great job. All in all, Precision Garage Doors is a great company to work with. I’d recommend them to my friends. I recommend them to you. I was very impressed with the well coordinated scheduling (not late, they called to ask if they could start early!). They didn’t ruin my day by canceling at the last moment, they did a wonderful job, and they were a pleasure to work with.

We called them a few weeks earlier to replace the spring on another door and it was $250. This time, they gave me three options, all the way up to about $900. They ended up replacing only the spring and two rollers. I looked up the cost of the rollers on Amazon and they were $16 for a pair. The Precision guy told me it was $129 because it included labor. When he explained the labor, it was the exact stuff he had to do anyway to replace the spring. He said they don't negotiate price. So, I paid them $129 for $16 of parts. I feel like they owe me $100. No, I would not recommend or use them again.

The repair was completed in less than an hour. Overall, not worth the price. The tech explained the different options and prices to me over the phone and offered to do the repair. Thinking it needed to be fixed as soon as possible, I approved the repair. Buyer beware! After researching the prices for the springs and pulleys, it appears this company marked up the parts about 5 to 10 times compared to if you purchased them yourself. They did not separate the price of the parts and the labor. Don"t fall for this trick. Ask for detailed estimates that break out parts and labor.
Description of Work: We signed up for the Angie's List $99 garage door tune-up promotional. This included an inspection that found the springs and pulleys worn and needed to be changed. The springs and pulleys were changed.

I've used this company before, at my house, and had a good experience, so I expected the same this time. When I called to make an appointment I asked for a ballpark estimate for the springs and maybe the rollers, and was told about $275, which is what I was expecting, and what we paid (roughly) a couple of years ago for the garage door at our house. When the guy got there the wife half of my tenant was there, and I talked to the tech on the phone, he tried to tell me it would be $700, which made me pretty angry, as I felt he was totally trying to take advantage of the situation (tenant's car being stuck in garage). I called another company, who agreed to come out that day, and fixed the door for about $250. So, what was the difference between this time and the time we had the work done at our house? My husband dealt with it at our house is the only thing I can think of. He thought he could take advantage because he was dealing with women. Which totally ****** me off. I feel that the technician tried to take advantage of me and the situation, and will not be using Precision again. I am extremely disappointed with them.

We had a real bad experience with Precision Door. We got the door to go up once and down once, but it needed to be fixed. So, we called Precision Door, we had used them before and they sent somebody out and that was on a Saturday. My husband had already spoken with the people that manufactured the garage door opener and he already did the 1-800 number and talked to the customer service and the fix it people. They had told him to do try these things, try these things, try these things, and if no of these things work they whole motor was fried when the lightening struck. So, my husband tried to problem solve that himself and one of the things the manufacturer said was to try and replace one of the sensor lights because those actually are at the bottom of the garage door and they would be the closest thing to the electrical system that would of been affected. My husband went out and bought new garage door sensors and got the model number and all that and installed them. That was about 40 bucks I think. It still didn't work. At that point they next morning he was so frustrated, he said let's call that door place we used before, which we had gotten off of Angie's List before. We might of used them once or twice before. They sent someone out and the young fellow and he immediately tried to up sell things. "Oh you need this, oh you need that, oh you need that." Well my husband said "I think we already had some of that done." "Well, it needs to be done again." So he came in and got me and tells me this guy says we need new springs and we need new rollers. I said "I don't think so, I have a file folder of what we had done to that garage door." So, I took it out there and said "Nope we don't need that. You guys replaced those less than a year ago." So, that's kind of how the whole thing started. A long story short, he could not fix it, he could not fix it. I don't know if he was just to dumb to know how to fix it. He claimed he didn't have the parts to fix it. They have some kind of like a little Ipad they hook up and try to tell you what fails in your system and what passes. So then they can say your springs failed according to my little computer here. So, I can replace the springs for X amount of dollars. That didn't work with us and we had already said "No we called you to see if you could get it up and working. Well, he couldn't and he told my husband that he thought that he bought the wrong model number sensor lights for the door and he was certain if my husband uninstalled the ones he put in the day before and took them back, he could replace them for the correct ones and everything would be fine. That didn't go over well. I made the mistake of leaving for about half an hour to run up to the local drug store. My husband was here with the guy and I am the record keeper and I am the one that speaks up about things. The guy left and when I got home, I said "Oh is it fixed." He said no and I said "Well, where is the receipt?" We absolutely insist we get a print out, we don't pay for anything if we don't have a print out. He said "The guy said he would email us the invoice." So I said "You didn't pay." He said "Yeah, I did pay" and I said "Why?" Anyway, 2, 3, or 4 o'clock later that afternoon, we get this invoice from them saying that he replaced the garage door sensors, which was an outright lie for a charge of $90 and then there was they diagnosed the blah blah blah and that was another 50 bucks. I was furious because that was fraudulent right there that he put that on the invoice. He absolutely did not fix anything. My husband said he was kind of tinkering around saying oh I'm tightening this and I'm this, and I'm that. I called the company and said this what just happened and I am furious and I'm not going to pay that bill because that is fraudulent, he did not do that. We have now spent $80 on garage door sensors and it doesn't work. They said they were going to have the regional manager or something like that call me back, but they would have to call the technician first of all to check his side of the story. I said "That's fine, I am reading right here off the print out what he said he did, which he did not do." I said " We have used you folks before. We got you off of Angie's List. We are big Angie's List customers." I said "I want my money back because now we are going to have to go back square A." "Well do you want us to send another technician?" I said "Absolutely not!" So, the regional manager never called me. They said because it was a weekend, they would call me first thing Monday morning, never called. I waited until noon and I explained the situation and I said "I have not gotten a call from the regional manager, but at 8 o'clock this morning the technician called me, woke me up and just started yelling at me. He was mad because someone at the company obviously contacted him and said you have a very irate customer here who says blah blah. He tried to argue with me about it and I said "You can say whatever you want, but what you did was fraudulent and I will not pay the bill. I want my money back." He said "Well I can't guarantee that." I said "That's fine, I will just write a review about you on Angie's List, step by step. What happened, what you did not do, what you tried to charge us for was fraudulent." I am not even sure if he knew what fraudulent meant. I said "It's a lie." He finally realized that he wasn't going to get anywhere with me and he said "You will get your money back even if I have to pay for it myself, take it out of my paycheck." I said "What ever works is fine with me." I think he knew at that point what he had done was wrong and he had gotten busted on it. No regional manager ever called me, which I think is a terrible thing when you have a complaint and you called and had been told that you would be contacted and you weren't. I suspect that this technician was called on it and they probably said to them "You better fix this situation or you are going to be paying for it." He couldn't fix it because he created it and I did get my money back. I was going to wait and see and I got it back within two days, full refund. The company before I had even gotten the receipt that showed the things that he written that were fraudulent that Precision Door Company had already sent me a "Rate our service" and I didn't do it at all because I thought you know, there's not going to be one good thing that I could say to them. I got my money back and then went out and bought a whole new garage door system. This is real interesting when the guy was yelling at me and called me at 8 o'clock in the morning, I said "What audacity you have to call someone and read them the riot act because you have done something fraudulent." He said "I was trying to save you $500 so you wouldn't have to buy a new garage door system because that is what it will cost you." Well guess what? It didn't cost $500. My husband went over to a store and it was like $279 or something and he installed it himself. It's pretty obvious what they wanted to do was up sell everything and pretend like you need this and that. That's how it all started out and when they guy was too dumb to be able to say your system's fired, I don't think I will be able to fix it, which would of been the honest thing to say. He just made up that he did this or that and left. I said to my husband "Why did you pay him?" He said "Well the guy said that's the way they did business that you have to pay with a credit card and then they would send the invoice later. I said "No, you just tell them that you will not pay them till you have the written invoice right there in front of you so you can see the items you are being charged for." My husband does not like controversy so he didn't do that. I was so mad about it. It ruined one whole weekend for us. I would think that, that young man lost his job and if not they are really stupid having someone going out and lying to people and trumping up charges and putting it on their credit card. They absolutely failed. Would you pay $90 for something they didn't do. The two things that he said we needed to replace says right on the print out that they passed. So he was dishonest from the get go. I would have paid for the diagnoses if it would have been accurate, but it wasn't. My opinion was he was mad right from the get go when he realized what he recommend to us had already been done and he wasn't going to get away with that one. So, he just dug himself in deeper. He didn't do anything.
Description of Work: We called them because we had a lightening strike here in early May when we had a big storm come through and hit a tree not far from our garage and it fried the electrical system on our garage door.

[Member Name Removed], I'm sorry that this was your experience. All of us here at Precision Door Service take pride in providing our customers with outstanding customer service. I would be frustrated beyond belief and this is absolutely unacceptable, these are the kind of things we need to know so we can improve. I spent some time this morning looking into your experience you had with Dale in May. First, I'd like to let you know that Dale is no longer with the company and I'm so sorry didn't get taken care of. Second, I see that Ashley went ahead and refunded $153.75 back to your credit card on May 6th, please let me know if you don't reflect the same. I've gone ahead and put a free lube/tune on your account that you can use whenever you'd like. We love the feedback and strive to make our customers happy! I appreciate you taking the time to let us know and I'm deeply sorry this was your experience! Thanks, Tabitha

I emailed through Angie's List to the company and they quoted me a low price but when the technician came he quoted me a much higher price. the misunderstanding was just that they quoted me a price that was only one small thing but there are many other parts needed. the technician was very professional and not pushy at all and we were able to figure out the best way to get my garage door working again and not spend too much
