Lenny was very prompt in arriving to give the estimate, There was one estimate that was $15,000 higher so I compared the similar bids and selected Pinnacle. Lenny's Brother in law Mike ran the job site. After confirming with Lenny several times in the 3 weeks leading up to the job start date, the day before I get an email from Lenny saying that he was behind and would not be able to start for about a week. I manage an apartment building and some tenants chose to take vacation to escape the noise.. these tenants were very disappointed and inconvenienced and in the end had no relief from the noise. But this was hardly the biggest issue. I was on the roof several times each day inspecting the condition of rot. There are several issues to report and not all of them are linear or sequential. The contract clearly stated that Pinnacle would procure all necessary permits and since this was not a personal residence a full tear off and re-roof required a permit. It became clear several days into the job that safety procedures were not being followed and there was no evidence of a permit posted on the building. On the day that the missing permit was discovered I also peered into the attic crawl space and found that most of the roofing garbage and personal Gatorade bottles and snack wrappers had been swept into my crawl space for disposal. The work was stopped for about 8-9 days while the permitting and city inspectors caught up. Mike was very unpleasant as I continually had to keep an eye on the work to protect and promote the integrity of the workmanship. The more I found in error the more hostile Mike became on the job site. Eventually Mike was pulled and Joe was sent to represent the company. I walked every inch of the roof and on several places my foot went through the plywood due to faulty material. Great resentment grew in that they had to go back and redo work that clearly they felt was good enough. After replacing the 4 -5 sheets of plywood I crawled around and inspected each corner and found substantial rot on the sides that would have been covered up with the membrane. Again they were annoyed that they had to call the carpenters back to replace wood a second time.. Next they "welded the PVC seams on the white roofing membrane. Anyone having roofing work done really should be on their roof every step of every day. I was so shocked at the low standards of workmanship that I called the company that makes the IB roofing membrane and asked them how I could get an inspection since I was greatly worried for the integrity of my roof. The Company offered to do an inspection for me at no extra charge. It seemed clear to me that if I had not crawled up on the roof several times each day the quality of workmanship they would have gotten away with would have been much less. Lenny had the justifiable deniability of saying that he had no idea this was happening but he has had his brother in law leading his crews for 10 plus years.. it makes me wonder. I suggest checking with the BBB for lawsuits against any contractor and realizing that sometimes the lowest bids are not worth the headache. I would never use this company again.

It was kind of ongoing because they did the repair. We went on a vacation and came back, and they did a partial repair because they would not guarantee the repair. No roofer would do that because they don't know what's on there. Basically I stopped the full repair and got a bid for a new roof and decided not to go with them for a new roof. I went with someone outside of Angie's List. They did part of the repair, but not completely that was why they prorated the cost. I won't know how good a job they did until the roofer is up there basically undoing what they did.

I got 3 bids, and Pinnacle was not the lowest. However, the inspection of the existing roofing and venting situation and the rest of quote process was the most thorough, and that's what sold me on them. I accepted the bid in July, and then began the long wait. Note to self - roofers are very busy in the summer. They overshot their first estimate as to when they'd start, mostly because the weather in late summer was not very good. I did have to contact them to get an updated start date. They hit their next date exactly. Once they started everything was very smooth. They worked over a weekend to work around the weather. They communicated any issues (like the bit of rot, needing a new skylight curb built up due to new insulation) very promptly. We discovered an issue with a section of gutter on the final walkthrough, and they fixed it immediately. Clean up was just about perfect. The roof looks fantastic, and seems to be performing just as well.
Description of Work: Tear off of torch-down roof, installed new plywood over the old decking, installed a new IB PVC roof with insulation. They also added attic venting where there was none before, including an exhaust vent for a bathroom fan. They repaired a couple of small sections of rot. They also replaced my skylight.

We purchased a home in the last year, during the home inspection we found that roof had some popped nails, and the vents needed to be done. We had several roofing companies come out and look at the roof and provide bids. Pinnacle roofing was the most professional out of the folks we had out, and paid the most attention to our concerns. They provided quotes quickly, and all the work that they've done to date has been at the price quoted. Since our jobs were small, the scheduling was a little bit of a issue, we didn't really know when they would be out, though they communicated this up front. We've been very happy with the work they've done, and would recommend them. They have been very attentive to any concerns we've had, such as on of the gutters needing to be hung slightly differently to improve drainage.
Description of Work: Replace ridge singles, nailed in popped nails, fixed flashing along part of the roof line, installed 3 vertical vents (and connected them to existing duct work), replaced gutters, put down anti-moss spray, redid flashing on chimney.

The estimator was prompt, friendly, and informative. He was very responsive to my questions and requests for updated bids after we hired a consultant to help us determine what we needed. They worked with us on price but in the end their bid was still the highest so we ended up going with a different company.

After meeting with maybe a dozen roofing companies who provided estimates ranging from $8,000 to $45,000 for a VERY simple roof, we were discouraged by the nickel-and-diming that occurs in the industry and by the lack of consensus as to what type of roof/gutter/fascia solution would work best for our home. Lenny was one of the most pleasant people to work with and his quote was perfect considering all the work to be done. For comparison's sake, other companies quoted us between $2,000-$20,000 more for a nearly identical worklist, sometimes with lower quality materials. Lenny was also very honest about what items needed to be replaced (yes, fascia) and what did not (no, downspouts). The Pinnacle team was flexible with scheduling and finished the job within a couple of days - just in time for our painters to arrive and take over. Now that we've had nearly a month of heavy, torrential rain in Seattle, I can wrap up the review with confirmation that the roof is doing its job perfectly: zero leaks and no more dripping over the corners of our roof. Perfect.

Pinnacle Roofing responded quickly with an estimate. We chose them because they were $4000.00 cheaper than other bids. They performed quality work. Each crew member had a specific job to do and they worked very well together. I don't think I saw them take a break all day, accept lunch. The owners Larry and oops forgot the other name were quick to reply to my emails. I would definitely recommend Pinnacle Roofing to anyone. They were especially helpful in re roofing a small deck roof that had to be replaced, they spent hours to get the job done right. Good company, good people, good work!!

In a recent wind storm we had a skylight partially shatter. It broke the outer pane, but the inner one was still intact (for now). With tremendous rain forecast for later in the week we reached out to Pinnacle. Lenny answer my email almost immediately and found a way to get someone over that same day. The showed up exactly when they said and were in and out in a hour. They even pulled some of the big branches off the roof. I am sure we just lucked out that they had an opening, but the entire experience with them was perfect. We will definitely use them again in the future.

He said he would be there and he was there. Very efficient. These people took off the tar but they also fixed the fascia off the roof. They really went above and beyond the call of duty. We had a poor company years ago that worked on our roof. They did an awful job, but this company, did a great job! He helped out with our circuit breaker in our house. He advised us in what needed to be done, we looked at few providers. We chose Pinnacle to do the job as well and he took care of it for us. He was very honest. Our roof now shines, they gutters made larger which now have traps to collect. I really would recommend them any day, and any time of the day.

It was a difficult job and I called three contractors and they were the ones who agreed to do it. My house is an old cabin by the lake. They also removed all the debris which other contractors refused to do. They are also the one who have the capability to do structural repairs, do the framing of the roof and they put three layers of shingles. They basically came forward to do a difficult job that other would not even think about doing or can only do a part of. It took longer than expected but I was satisfied with the result.

They did not seal the ducts leading from the bathrooms and kitchen to the vents in the roof. They had to come back to do that which was very inconvenient since we had to board our dogs initially during the roofing.
Description of Work: Removed all the shingles to find the previous roofer had not done the venting correctly so all the boards were moldy and needed replacing. They took photos of it for us. Replaced all the boards and even added insulation in areas where none had been added previously. They added the new vents needed and cleaned the shop roof too.

UPDATE: 7/27/2014 - Lenny (owner) called to ask if it was O.K. to send someone out to perform additional clean-up, and within 2 hours it was done. I really appreciate the good customer service and wanted my review to reflect that. Changed quality rating from B to A. We had a big and surprising leak during a recent heavy storm. We discovered the leak at 6:45 in the morning, the service call was confirmed by 7:00, the roofer arrived at 11:00 and by 11:30 it was covered with a temporary patch - what a relief. The quoted price for the patch and return for repair was so reasonable ($450) I added a roof and gutter cleaning to the work order. They returned the next day while I was at work, patched the roof seamlessly, cleaned the roof and the gutters. I am very happy with the work performed. The only reason I gave a B instead of an A for quality is the mess left behind from the roof cleaning, it's not a huge mess, but will require some clean up on my part.

Pinnacle Roofing is the company to go with if you want things done the way you want, and you want the work done right. 1. To start out, Pinnacle Roofing signed a contract in October and patiently waited for good weather in June because we had trouble with rain in previous contract work. 2. The contract was more specific than others regarding the work to be performed and how it would be performed. The standards seemed very high. 3. They had a chimney man on their staff that removed the old oil chimney which was getting old and beginning to leak and put in a gas chimney. 4. They told and showed me, damaged plywood roofing, that was not surprising because we had a previous contractor that did not do good work. 5. We had trouble with the gutter, because Pinnacle had forgotten we ordered Leaf Relief gutter protection. The Leaf Relief was done as an add on. I had previously paid off the contract and Pinnacle could have walked away having done a job better than most contractors. But Lenny Schwartz, knew I was not 100% satisfied, He came over looked over the work, and they ended up totally reworking the gutters to my 100% satisfaction. Pinnacle Roofing wants you to be 100% satisfied! I never had a contractor that really wanted you to be 100% satisfied! Pinnacle Roofing actually listens to its customers. Somehow all employees of this company want you to have a good installation and a good experience.

Although there were some communications issues, overall I give Pinnacle high marks. The foreman leading the work crew had to leave early due to an unavoidable personal issue, and it led to some issue, especially since none of the remaining workers spoke English. We also had issues with vibrations from the roof fan. However, Pinnacle made everything right in the end and we love our new roof.

The guy that came just measuredand said their company would be in touch. Very impersonal, he wasn't able to give me any information on what he thought, he didn't give me any samples of roofing material, didn't give me options for their services. He said the quote would come by email in 2 days and it didn't. it took quite a bit longer. Then when the quote came, I was shocked by the price and lack of explanation as to why it was so high. If they spent the time with me to explain why they charge so much maybe I would rate them higher, but $17,000 to redo a 5 square flat roof is way over priced. I ended up going with another company for $1750. Quite a price difference. We are very pleased with the roofing job too.
Description of Work: We received a quote and no services from this company. Their bid was over 7 times the cost of the other bids I got from 5 other companies for the flat roof job.

Response from Pinnacle Roofing Professionals LLC
I am sorry you feel that our estimate to re-roof your roof deck was too expensive or that there was a lack of explanation. Our estimates are very detailed and if read thoroughly we believe would clearly explain the cost difference. Moreover, on April 11th 2014, when the proposal was sent to you we specifically stated “If you have any questions or would like to discuss the proposal in more detail, please feel free to call or send me an email.” We also followed-up with an email that included some literature on the product we proposed. We never received a response or call from you requesting to go over the proposal or to discuss. Planning goes a long way to achieve superior results of a roof deck system that is both attractive and watertight. Pinnacle only installs IB’s Deckshield (IB’s Deckshield exceeds the American Act for Disability’s slip-resistance requirements) on roof decks and we will only propose this system by taking it all the way down to the framing and installing new ¾-in ACX plywood. Our estimate also included pulling the door and frame, demoing and patching the stucco around the perimeter of the roof deck in order to run new material up the wall. As a result, there would not only be roofers that are trained and approved by the manufacturer on this project, but a carpenter crew and Stucco contractor.

I was very satisfied with the job and whole process from start to finish. I did a very through job of collecting bids and evaluating the different contractors that I received bids from. I chose Pinnacle because of the quality of the bid Lenny the owner presented, the quality of products used, length of warranty as well as the excellent reviews provided on craigslist and competitive bid. Paulo led his crew and he was great he kept me informed and answered any questions that I had. They did excellant work and I couldn't be happier with the job they did.

I chose to go with Pinnacle so they ordered some roofing material after I sent in the deposit. They told me I needed work done on my chimney, so they sent a mason out to take a look at it. They gave me a bid for a complete chimney rebuild for $4,875. I let them know that I wanted to contact other companies for an estimate to get a ball park price before I decided to go with them. Lenny, the owner, emailed me back and said that their mason, Kirk, was not a subcontractor and he worked for Pinnacle. I felt as though he was trying to discourage me from getting other bids. Two of the top rated masons on I found on Angie's List came out and told me that I don't need a complete rebuild and that Pinnacle's estimate was outrageous. The new quote I received was around 900-$1,100. They both said the chimney was in good condition and just needed a power wash and a few other things. Even if I did need a whole new chimney it would only be around $2,500. The two mason's I spoke with both said Pinnacle was ripping me off. I called Pinnacle back to confront them about the price discrepancy and why they told me I needed a whole new chimney when two other masons had come out and said that was outrageous. Lenny was nice about it and said that he would talk to his mason and get back to me. The next day he called me back and had a very condescending attitude and basically told me "well I don't know what to tell you, I stand by him and we've never had anybody complain about our prices". I told them I can't go with them because there is no way I would trust them to do the work.
Description of Work: I called for an estimate.

Response from Pinnacle Roofing Professionals LLC
I am sorry you feel our price was too high or that our proposed work was not necessary. Clearly visible were both cracking bricks and mortar joints due to water damage. Moss was growing on the top and bottom edge of almost every mortar joint-- evidence that the mortar joints are no longer bonded to the brick. In addition, there were cracks along the top of the crown which is undoubtedly where the water started getting in. Based on these findings, we are adamant that the only long term fix was to rebuild the chimney above the roof line despite other opinions. Anything less cannot be guaranteed to keep water out. Our company is known for doing exceptional work. Moreover, our Mason brings over 25 years of experience to the industry; does not only superior work that is clearly exceptional from others in the industry, but is trustworthy, reliable and dependable—a rare quality today. All our chimney crowns are actual concrete, poured 5 inches thick with rebar reinforcement and a drip edge to protect the brick. We do not mound the left over mortar on the top for a crown. Our chimney counter flashing is always “stepped” into the brick work and sealed-in with mortar. We do not use the “cut in” counter flashing method and seal with caulking. We only use stainless steel chimney caps. Finally, our Masonry work is warrantied under the same 15 year workmanship warranty we offer with all our roof systems. When you informed us you wanted to get other bids, we actually recommended that this was a good idea and would never attempt to discourage your right to do so. We simply informed you that the Masonry work would be bundled under the same warranty as the roof and to keep this in mind when making your decision on who to use. You were never bound to use Pinnacle for your masonry work and based on the hundreds of reviews for other members, it is clearly evident that we are not in the business of ripping people off. Our goal with all our roof systems is to offer quality work and craftsmanship that in turn will last for many years that will ensure our customers don’t have to worry about water intrusion into their homes.
