Description of Work: Major maintenance and check-up. Everything went as expected. Friendly, helpful and informative. Prices are high however.

Description of Work: I took my vehicle to this shop after being told by the Honda dealership's service department that I need a new transmission. Due to the high price charged by the dealership I instead decided to have this shop do the work. However, in discussing the problem with the KC Martin rep, we decided that the transmission might not be culprit. After some testing the shop diagnosed that the problem might be the knock sensor, not the transmission. After replacing the suspect part, my vehicle ran fine, and has continued to do so for over 100 miles. This strongly suggests that the transmission is still fine. I saved about $3,700 over the what the dealer wanted to charge me. Even if the problem had been the transmission, KD Martin could have done the job for about $800 less, and also would have been about to offer a warranty that was twice as long as what the deal would have offered. I think KC Martin did a very professional job, and demonstrated a high level of knowledge about my vehicle.

Description of Work: Were polite but a bit condescending. Rotated tires even though they were specifically told not to. Were a day late finishing car, all tires came back with not enough air pressure, paint chipped on door (small spot). All-in-all the final fix of problem is sound, but it could have been a smoother process.

Description of Work: My partner took her car in to KC Martin for a steering and transmission problems. At first they thought is was the rack and pinion, yikes, sounds exspensive. They called later to say it was just a couple worn belts, $200.00. They took the car to their transmission the next day to have them take a look. We were really expecting the worse. They called later to say it was a something or other and did some adjusting and said it should be fine for a while. It may fail in a week, a month or a year but might as well give it some time. NO CHARGE... These guys could have easily said we need to replace that seal, that will be $2,500.oo please. At least we now know that when it does fail (hopefully later than sooner) we know the cost and will take it ASAP to KC Martin. Finding a good trustworthly mechanic is as important as my family doctor....... I know feel comfortable knowing this place tells you what is wrong and will fix only what is wrong.

Description of Work: My son took his subaru outback in to get an estimate and they were extremely professional and quick. He knew he needed something done with the axels and sure enough, that's what they diagnosed. He also got a rear window fixed, and had the brakes bled. I'm not sure exactly what was done - as well as I can recall, it had to do with the axels, drive shaft, and the rack and pinion steering. Anyway, it was fast and very professional. The day he took it in for an estimate, he was told to bring it back the next day and that it might take up to two days to repair since they were very busy. When he brought it back the next morning, it was completely repaired by that afternoon. My son said the owner was very nice.

Description of Work: 2000 Mazda MPV van, replaced exhaust manifold, oil leak repair, replaced spark plugs and wires. 2000 VW Cabrio, replaced engine belts and coolant outlet. Examined door lock controller.

Description of Work: We took our Ford Escort 2002 for a complete brake job. We thought it would cost at least $400. Derek at the counter was very knowledgeable and impressed my husband, who is very knowledgeable about cars himself. They only changed what needed to be changed. They did it in 24 hours. These guys are very professional. We found them at the Car Talk website. They are so good that they have two shifts (they are open from 8am to midnight) to accommodate all their customers and their business is booming. We were delighted to find them. A good mechanic in the neighborhood is indispensable.
