Everything went VERY WELL. Calvin takes a lot of pride in his workmanship and it shows. While repairing the holes in the sheet rock he took the time to use backing on one of the holes because it was too big. He could have just filled the hole with several layers of mud but it could/would be weak and may crack out in years to come. The handrail I had him relocate was because it was originally installed using anchors - which just pulled out through the sheet rock. After repairing the sheet rock he took the time to make certain the handrail supports were screwed into studs. Another instance of pride in workmanship was when resealing the shower he used a caulking that had grout in it so it matched the sanded grout used in the tile shower. The color was a shade off so instead of just running the bead of sealant he told me that Home Depot had a product that would be a perfect match color-wise. I ran to HD to get it while he stayed busy working on other things. He was right - the color was right on! I could see where Calvin would get pretty busy at times and get stretched pretty thin due to demand because this guy does good work for a reasonable price and works efficiently. I retired after 43 years in the residential construction (different sub-trade than work being done) and I can honestly say there aren't many true "craftsman" left in the industry. Calvin is a Craftsman by every sense of the word. If you try to contact him to do some work for you and he's busy, busy, busy - it's for a reason. My recommendation would be to wait and he will get to you when he can. He's not the kind of guy to go out and hire others to work for him just to get jobs done.

We are extremely pleased with both projects. The repair work on the "pillar" was one of starting small with one "soft" spot and expanding to ALL the soft (as in rotten) spots. He quickly came up with the best permanent solution (required a trip to purchase additional materials) and installed it perfectly. It exactly matches the three other pillars. He also did a great job of cleaning up. The grout repair went equally well. The fix is permanent in that he used epoxy grout) and it looks great! Clean up was again superior. Calvin was very easy to deal with and readily adjusted to our ever changing schedule. We will definitely use her again and again and again.

It went smoothly and Calvin explained to the tenant what they needed to do until he was able to get out to them.

I appreciated Calvin's work, work ethic and customer service. He was very good at communicating what he was doing and how long it would take. I would have him back for any handyman work needed. His bid for the restoration of the laundry room was also LESS THAN HALF of another bid I received.

I can't recommend Calvin highly enough. He is very focused, detail-oriented, and prompt. He is also willing to work with my changes, and never complains. His work is excellent, and he stands behind everything he does with a guarantee. I have full confidence in him, and never worry that a job won't be done to my satisfaction. He did a lot of remodeling at my previous house, and when I bought a new one, he was the first person I called to have him check it over for the work I wanted done. He's absolutely my go-to person whenever I need handyman work done.

It took two emails to get on his calendar (he's busy!), but after that everything was perfect. I was particularly pleased to have some custom plantation blinds re-threaded and hung, a tedious but necessary job. VERY happy!

We never made contact. I may have missed the appointment but whatever the reason, we did not get started.

Calvin found that we had some moisture seeping inside our siding and was able to remove the small sections that it affected and fix the area very neatly with additional wood. He also found we had moisture termites which we were able to have treated in the middle of the project by a pest control company. While we did have to adjust our initial estimate because of those things, it wouldn't have been responsible for him or us to continue until those things were fixed, and we were really thankful he pointed them out. They were issues that nobody could have known about up front. The deck looks absolutely AMAZING! He cleaned up the yard thoroughly to make sure that no nails or screws were still in the yard. We would definitely hire him again for other jobs.

Calvin was very pleasant to work with. Responsible, polite, cared a great deal about the quality of the job that he was doing. He is not licensed to do anything electrical, but other than that, I found his wokr to be well done. Very satisfied. Will use him again.

Calvin showed up when he said he would. He's a very pleasant guy who worked quietly and efficiently. I was really pleased with the quality of the work! I'm putting together a list to have him come back :) He wasn't trying to pad the job but suggested replacing the hoses on w/d every 5 years that I didn't know should be done. Appreciated

Calvin has been very helpful with suggestions when we're stumped about what might work for some of the things we wanted to do. He's easy to work with and didn't laugh too hard when I had him repaint a room because the first color I chose was awful. Actually, we all laughed together! We've recommended him to neighbors. There are a lot of other jobs that need doing and he'll do them. Wish we'd found him years ago.

The service was excellent. He is on my phone, and I would call. He always calls and tells me when he is coming and if he is delayed. I told him to call me whenever he had time because I was not in a hurry, and he was very quick even in doing that.

Calvin is the GREATEST HANDYMAN EVER and we are very pleased.He is extremely meticulous and a perfectionist and his work speaks to his high level of expertise.We bought this house last year and there were a lot of items that needed attention.Calvin always showed up on time and completed the jobs in an efficient manner at a fair price.He is very knowledgeable about construction processes and knows what needs to be done to achieve a great result.It is a pleasure to find someone this skilled that we can have full confidence in. We never expected that he would be able to refinish the maple cabinet doors to achieve such a wonderful result-you'd never know that they had ever been damaged.His eyesight is also exceptional since he saw tiny holes in the exposed aggregate that we wouldn't have even noticed until they became larger and the surfaces more deteriorated.We had a terrific handyman we used for years when we lived in California and we never dreamed that we would be able to find someone up here that was as good.Until we located Calvin through Angie's list.He is the best! We have more projects coming up and will be calling Calvin again soon..

Dig a small hole for a sump pump uber my house. I had all the parts just needed labor

Complete pressure washing, touch-up painting, hauling away junk to dumps and repairing countertop laminate. The price was reasonable and the service was reliable and professional.

We originally hired Calvin to power wash our walkway, driveway & patio. It was very easy to work with him to set up an appointment. He was polite & professional. He went right to work & did an excellent job, in a timely fashion. He charged by the hour & worked the full time. Since he completed the job shy of the 3 hrs estimated, he offered to fix our gate in the remaining time. We were so happy with his performance, we hired him to install new blinds. Again we were pleased with his work. He has become my "go to guy" for work around the house.

Calvin is so easy to work with. He said he'd be here at 8. He was here at 8. He did thorough prep work before starting to paint. The work was the best we've ever had done. He even called the next morning to see how the paint looked and to ask if we were happy with the job. As soon as he can work us into his schedule we'll have him complete our to do list. Told my daughter about him and she'wants his number. We've had bad experiences in the past with "a friend of a friend". Calvin is the guy we've been looking for!

Calvin is prompt, always gives a reasonable estimate (and sticks to it even when he underestimated labor), and very easy to work with. I've had many compliments on the quality of work that he has performed, which is a nice kudo for all the care he takes in his work. He is always responsive to my many and varied concerns, works hard to deal with any issues I have (namely, two dogs who always want to "help" him), and is quick to notice any problems and fix them. I will be continuing to use him for a new shower installation, and any other work that needs to be done around the house. He is hard-working, professional, and very responsive, and I highly recommend his work.

The job performed: stained our deck at our lake cabin.

Calvin did everything I asked, worked diligently no matter how long the job took, was highly attentive to detail, helpful, and accommodating to my wishes. The finished product/work was always of an excellent quality. I not only highly recommend him, I intend to have him do more work on my house (including painting the exterior and interior), and do some work installing a drain in my soggy yard.

Calvin came out and offered a rough estimate on a number of different projects. He is quite well-rounded. He was able to handle a bunch of different "handyman" types of tasks. However, some interior painting ended up being a larger job than we anticipated. While he did an excellent job at the painting, I think I should have seen that as a larger job. I think having Calvin work on the many sundry tasks that add up on the Honey-Do list is a better fit for his availability, his rates and his work. He's a very honest fellow though, very fair and easy to talk with. I recommend him.
