Gary Hays is the best I've worked with in 40 years in the software business. Extremely bright, professionally state of the art, calm, analytical and just plain a pleasure to work with. He diagnosed and fixed a system in one hour and 30 minutes it took Comcast two days and 3 techs to figure out.

I found Mr. Hays to be the consummate technician, extremely competent yet personable, willing to patiently share his time and expertise with a person such as myself who is a relative computer novice. While performing the various installations and procedures at my home, he showed me what I could do to get the most out of my upgraded system. Any questions or issues I had before and after his visit were resolved quickly via a series of e-mails to which he quickly responded. Since his visit and following a final phone call, my Mac has been operating more efficiently, quickly, and smoothly than ever. It has been able to utilize the updated features associated with Yosemite to the point where I almost feel I am now using a brand new desktop. I would recommend his service most highly and without reserve. I should mention the cost figure I have given is strictly for his work. It does not include software and other components I purchased from sites such as the Apple store or Amazon to make my Mac upgrade possible or more flexible; these include the hard drive backup, the Office for Mac suite, and Yosemite itself. If I add these to the total, I would estimate my final outlay would run from $550 to $600, well under the cost of a brand new Mac desktop.

I had been saving IPhoto Libraries on DVD?s over the years so I had several Libraries from the old computer to transfer to the new computer. This process involves several steps to be done in the correct order and I needed help. Gary explained each step and demonstrated the process by actually transferring some of the photos so I would know what to do later with the remaining Libraries. This was all good until later when I attempted the process on my own. I apparently missed a step because I was certain that I had accidentally deleted ALL of the current photos as well as the ones I was attempting to transfer. So in full panic mode I called Gary. He calmed me down and asked what happened. From that point on it was as if he were sitting right next to me looking at my computer. He knew exactly what I had done and what to do to fix it. He gave me clear instructions which I followed and like magic all of the photos reappeared. What a relief!! Gary has been a TREMENDOUS HELP to us and we are very happy to have found such a wonderful resource for future assistance with our Mac computer. I would definitely recommend Gary to anyone who needs help with their Mac.

It's ongoing - Gary helped me set up alerts for a mid-2014 refurbished-by-Apple computer and I'm just waiting for it to become available so he can transfer my data and get it set up for me. I told him I wanted wireless automatic backing up, and he sent me a link to the device that would do that for me. Yay! Nearly all set.

Gary arrived promptly at 11am and got right to work. He went through my computer and cleaned up a lot of "stuff". He found a problem with my hard drive and was able to fix it. I had a lot of questions about using the computer, since I know just enough to be dangerous. He was very patient and explained things so i could understand. I feel more confident about using different programs I hadn't used before, He also set up my I-Phone so I'm ready to transfer information to my new I-Phone 6 when it comes. I was very happy to find someone who could come to my house to work on my computer, and the cost was very reasonable and worth every penny.

He ran a defrag and got rid of some potentially bad software. Well done!

It could not have gone better. I took my laptop to Gary's place, along with a new SSD I got at Best Buy. Gary is very knowledgable and very helpful, and he is a really nice guy. He did all the work quickly and efficiently and didn't charge extra for delivering the repaired computer to my home. Then he verified with me that all my programs and wifi were working properly. If you need help with your computer, don't hesitate to call In-home Technology services. I recommend Gary very highly.

It was the second time I've had Gary help me with things on this computer. The first time I took the computer to him and this time he came to the house to set up the printer/scanner. He is amazing and takes the time to explain how to use/do things when he is done.

The service went well. I have used the company a few times since purchasing the deal. I recently had them transfer information from my old computer to my new one. The technician is very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He is easily accessible through email for questions and I have had no issues with scheduling.

Gary updated my software and corrected all errors that had occurred. He also made my computer friendly to my abilities. He was very helpful, polite and professional. I would recommend him to anyone needing a computer service. I am a senior who does not feel very comfortable with all the technology that is available. Gary gave me good instructions on the programs that is use. I will have him back in six months for another checkup.

I was very impressed with his knowledge and patience as I'm not that computer savvy. He made suggestions that would help to speed up my Mac and allow me to upgrade to a current operating system. I took thorough notes. He suggested a site where I could order the memory for a good price. When the memory arrived I was able to install it thanks to Gary's step by step instructions that he provided the day he was here - which I noted carefully. I had to email Gary regarding a question on the install I did and he was very prompt in answering my email. Another plus is he comes to your house! I would definitely use him again. I would recommend him to others without hesitation - in fact I already have! My Mac is running better than ever to Gary!

Mighty Mac Man Gary! He came, he saw, he conquered (my fears!) He arrived on time, was honest, thorough and patient. He transferred all my data from my old Windows XP computer to my new iMac, set up my networking, and even helped my housemate with a problem she had with her PC. I am looking for excuses to call him again!

I can't say enough for the superlative service Gary provided. From making the arrangements and confirming the time to the actual work at my home. I had long thought I needed to take my desktop somewhere for a check-up, it was slow and challenging to use the internet and even to open Word. I think I was worried they'd tell me I needed a new one. Instead I got advice in advance...do you have a back up system and when I said no, a suggestion about what I needed and offer to install it. Then, when he came, more straight answers and explanations about what was wrong and necessary. Better yet, he let me sit there and explained what he was doing and provided tips for how to make it work more quickly and efficiently. When I complained I hadn't been able to connect with my laptop, he showed me why and now I can! No more long phone calls to "customer service" who wanted to explain why it wasn't their problem. All I can say is, if there is anything that can be done, he will know what it is and be able to tell you in a "plain English" way that you can understand so the next steps you take can be rational and cost-effective. I rely on my computer for work and many other reasons. I offer my undying thanks and recommend this service without reservation.

I finally got around to scheduling an appointment with Gary Hays from Home Tech Svcs. He was very accomodating, punctual and professional. I have used the "Geniuses" at the Apple store in the past and felt they were less than helpful though extremely knowledgeable maybe too knowledgeable. Being 72 years of age and less than tech savvy can be intimidating to say the least. Gary was none of that. He was VERY knowledgeable, helpful, informative, personable, and GOOD at what he does. I gave him high marks and would have given him higher if I could have. His workmanship was stellar and the money spent was more than worth it. Gary is like the Maytag repairman. He repairs problems so well and trains his clients so that they do not need to call him often. In addition, he is very diligent about troubleshooting problems by email . He showed me that I already had a license for Mac Word and did not need to pay for additional copies. Best of all, he does not nickel and dime you about every little service but instead concentrates on helping his clients solve their problems. He prides himself on a job well done. He is so knowledgeable about all things MAC, including what software to use and where to get the best deals.Time with Gary is time well spent.I know whom I'll call if I need help again!

The purchase was well worth the price. Gary knows his stuff inside and out. It was great to have a technician so knowledgeable about MACs. He was very helpful with tips on speeding up the computer and the reality of what it is capable of. He is a wealth of information.

Gary was able to salvage all my valued files and even let me borrow one of his portable hard drives until I could get my computer repaired. He recommended a backup system and, when he came back to pick up his equipment, even helped me with getting that installed. I lucked out on the repair too, as it was under recall. He's a super nice guy and for sure knows what he's doing.
