Description of Work: I was very pleased with the service that I received from Gary. My laptop was running extremely slow and after determining there were no viruses he proceeded with plan A, but also had a plan B in case plan A did not solve the problem. When he left he told me when I go to get on computer the next day, if it still is running slow to call him and he would move on to plan B. The next day when I went to use my laptop it was better in some areas but still not working completely like it should. I text Gary to let him know. He was out to dinner with family and friends but immediately responded to see if he could call me when he returned home from dinner. He called, talked me through step by step how to fix one of the issues I was still having, which immediately solved that issue. In order to proceed with Plan B, which was to reinstall the operating system, I needed to first backup everything. So we set a time for the next evening when we were both available for him to call so he could talk me through step by step what to do for Plan B. He called at the time he said he would, we put into motion Plan B and Viola....all is good. Gary is a very nice and honest person. I highly recommend him and plan to use him anytime I need tech service.

Description of Work: For a reasonable rate Gary, who works primarily with Apple computers will come to your home and do what needs to be done to get your computer working right. (As I am not computer savvy, I am not sure what he does, but whatever it is, the computer works like new when he is done). Scheduling is easy. Gary is efficient, knowledgeable and competent.

Description of Work: I had a fairly new Mac system and he came out and cleaned it up and tied all my Apple products together and did a general once over of the systems.

Description of Work: This guy was the best. Not only did he help me fix my computer and update it to this century, he also helped me set up my phone! Absolutely the best decision I have made.

Description of Work: He performed the contracted service of cleaning up my MAC book laptop and making sure everything was up to date and in good order.

Description of Work: I should start by saying that I used an Angie's List "Big Deal" of the day so I paid an extremely low price. However, I would certainly be willing to pay a higher price in the future since I realized this was a one-time only special price. Gary cleaned up my MacBook Pro so that it now operated quickly and effectively. I may be using some of the wrong terminology, but he checked for any programs running in the background that might slow down the computer, he checked the registry and corrected errors that came up, he took and overall look at my computer to find anything that might be causing any problems. I easpecially liked that I could sit next too him as he explained things so it was a learning experience for me. He also answered general question I had about my computer and also made recommendations. I am fairly literate when it comes to my Mac so I did not have any big problems--it just seemed to be running a bit more slowly than I thought it should. However, I believe he could competently solve major issues (like for example, if I gave him my daughter's computer---she is young and completely careless with what she downloads and how she uses her computer). It is especially nice to have someone who specializes in Macs.

Description of Work: problems with email, internet on my computer. Unsure what programs I needed to get and how to get backup.

Description of Work: Gary did a basic system "clean up," installed Apple TV, set up "Time Machine" for system backup, set up Mobile Me so that my Mac, iPad and iPhone are all automatically syncing, installed the new iLife software, did troubleshooting on my Netgear router.

Description of Work: Was having trouble figuring out why we lost internet connection, despite many efforts to restore our connection. Despite being out of town, he graciously returned my phone call and provided a phone consultation with me. His directions were clear, calm and patient! Internet connection restored! He is amazing!

Description of Work: Gary came to our home to network my Mac laptop with my two desktop pc's and printer. It ended up being more complicated than we both expected, but he did a great job.

Description of Work: My granddaughter's new laptop was not performing well. Gary serviced the laptop, ran a virus scan, and explained how to circumvent the problem with a program that the Norton was disabling.

Description of Work: My husband and I purchased two laptop computers, a printer, a modem, a router at a local store but, of course, neither of us have the skills necessary to get everything up and running! Fortunately, I consulted with Angie's list and discovered this company and then also realized that Gary Hays, the owner, lives in our neighborhood! What an absolute treasure he is! Gary was very prompt to return my phone call, set up an appointment with us the next day after my phone call, and set everything up beautifully! He even had to contact our internet provider and go to bat for us to get everything up to speed. He is a highly skilled and very professional person but was very easy to talk to. His fee was incredibly reasonable and, best of all, he asked us to contact him in several weeks to see if everything was working as we wanted.

Description of Work: We needed to have an embroidery program installed on our Vista formated computer.

Description of Work: I wanted to convert from a Windows-based computer system to an Apple laptop. Gary helped me figure out what would be best for me to buy given how I wanted to use my system. After I received the system, he came to my home to help me set everything up and move all my files, favorites, photos, and e-mail addresses to my new Apple laptop. He also helped me put my printer on my wireless network so my son and I could both print remotely. I was nervous about learning a whole new way of doing things on a computer after years with Windows, but Gary made it very easy. After everything was set up and ported to my new system, he showed me how to do many things--import and edit photos, add files with my e-mail app, set system preferences, back-up my system, etc. Basically, he gave me a one-on-one class. I took notes and asked lots of questions. Afterwards Gary also answered questions via e-mail.
