Gary made an appt for 1:00 p.m. He arrived on time. He was very professional and well informed. Although he had never heard of the problem I was having before, he came up with a solution. The job was going to take a while, so he took my computer home and worked on it. He kept me informed of where he was and the computer was returned this morning at 10:00 a.m. All problems seem to be fixed. He went over all the things he did, made sure the printer was hooked up and working again. He spent time with me educating me on my computer that I did not know about. He never was impatient with me on things I did not know. He is amazing! I really appreciate his time and talent and definitely will be using him again if the need arises.

Gary arrived punctually and worked efficiently to solve my software difficulties. He was professional, friendly and knowledgable about both Mac computers and the Hewlett Packard scanner that was not cooperating with the software upgrade. He persuaded me that I was better off using the Image Capture software that is built in to the Mac to run the scanner instead of the HP software and spent some time showing me how to use Image Capture. While Mathtype was new territory for Mr. Hays, between several experiments and a phone call to the software company, he was able to get Word 2011 to used Mathtype instead of the very basic Equation Editor that is the default. Some of what he accomplished I might have also accomplished, given infinite patience and considerable luck, and the rest of what he did for my computer I wouldn't have figured out in any amount of time. This was money well spent. I will definitely use his skilled services again and plan to hand out his business card to the other teachers at my school who use Mac's.

Couldn't have been better. Gary Hays is extremely knowledgeable, works fast, and gives straightforward advice. I learned a lot. Better yet, our computers and network are way better than they used to be.

Did a complete tune up on our old IMac and got it working much faster. He also set up or router and got it working.

Gary decided which operating system I needed and told me what to purchase. He purchased the RAM and we scheduled a date and time for him to come to my home and work on the IMAC. Gary was on time and extremely professional. He suggested it would be less costly for me if he took my IMAC to his home as much of the work would be waiting for stuff to download and update and at his home he only charged me for the time he was doing something versus at my home there would be a lot of waiting for updates to happen (about 7 hours worth). I really appreciated his offering me that option and was quite comfortable letting him take the IMAC. He returned with it the following day. He realized the new operating system would not support my microsoft office and so I purchased a new version which he installed. He also installed Iphoto11. He coordinated everything with the iCloud (my IMAC, iPhone, and iPad). He spent 2 hours training me on the use of the new software. He is a natural teacher and quickly assessed my skill level and geared the one on one training to my ability. He teaches courses at a nearby college and clearly he knows how to teach and really understands the apple technology. It was money well spent as I was becoming frustrated with the technology as my IMAC did not work well with my Iphone4 and my Ipad. Now I am thrilled with the new technology.

I was referred to Gary by another Angie's List company since Gary is a Apple Certified Consultant. I will definitely continue to trust my Macs for my business and home to Gary at In-Home Technology Service.

Gary promptly returned my phone message for services the same day and set up an in-home meeting time the following day (which was conveniently on Saturday). He arrived on time, was prepared, professional, and very easy to communicate with. He quickly checked my internet and wireless network status, updated the network with greater security and a new password, and made sure all computers were connected to the network. He also configured my printer for use in the network. All systems are working perfectly, and Gary provided easy to understand instructions as to how the system works. I was very happy with the overall service, and plan on using Gary in the future when needed. I would highly recommend Gary to anyone based my first experience using his services.

But I will add that when I was getting a new system including a faster internet connection, he was even willing to take the phone when the Xfinity rep started asking and telling me things I couldn't comprehend - so I could have confidence he was helping me to get what I wanted without all the stress I would have had on my own! Very helpful, very accessible and also, very reasonable in how he charges for his time.

Do get a scope of work and a conversation about what was accomplished. Though I am computer-ignorant, there should still be an explanation of what was accomplished.

I'd been planning upgrades to my home computers for some time. I communicated with Gary on the phone and by e-mail several times about my plans and he had very helpful suggestions about equipment choices and how to go about the process. After ordering the equipment, we scheduled an in home visit to do the set up and installation. Gary was easy to communicate with, he agreed to a convenient appointment time, and arrived right on time. There was quite a bit of work to be done. Files and settings from one old PC had to be transferred partly to a PC and partly to a Mac, plus a new Mac had to be configured based on an old one. Three printers needed to be installed also. Gary got right to work and had the tasks divided so he always had a couple things going on different machines at the same time, so as not to bill more hours than necessary. All the while he was very helpful in making sure everything was set up just the way we wanted it, and in answering all our questions.

I am somewhat technologically challenged and Gary was wonderful. He set everything up and explained how to use everything very thoroughly. We have a follow up appointment next week to make sure that I understand the way everything works and to answer any questions that might come up. I have also called him a couple times and he is always willing to help. He specializes in Mac systems.

Gary tuned-up both my MacBook Pros and did an excellent job. There were problems I've had with both Macs since I've had them, and he made everything work the way I always wanted. He also helped me with hooking up a printer and a DVD player, plus addressed issues I had with my Smart TV. Could not have had a better person for the job and will recommend him to anyone having Mac issues, or even to people that have technology issues with other components in their home. GRADE A+

It went great. Gary was knowledgeable, professional and very helpful. He graciously answered all kinds of questions that I showered him with while he worked on our computers. He tested my internet speed and gave me recommendations on providers. He has followed up with me (more questions) by email at no additional charge. He even pet the dog. Our computers are running better and faster now, and now I know who to call for help when I need it.

Gary was absolutely the VERY BEST COMPUTER WHIZ I HAVE EVER HAD. I have, for many years, gone with the top rated, most used computer person on Angie's list in the Portland area. This person also has the highest hourly rate. I didn't begrudge her her wage, but I did resent her charging me for talking and petting my kitty, and sitting at my computer waiting for things to update without going on to another job that she could have been doing without waiting. I even called her on it a few times and she said, "oh, okay." It was "la-dee-dah" with my cash and my cat didn't even want to be petted. Gary on the other hand, was ZIP, BAM, BOOM. He was quite pleasant but said his responsibility to his customers was not to be Mr. Friendly, but to get the job done as fast as and thorough as possible. He zipped through two computers and worked EXTREMELY EFFICIENTLY. I was shocked that he completed his tasks so fast, in comparison to the other computer whiz. This time he truly SAVED ME A BOATLOAD OF MONEY. After Gary left I called my friend and told her about my experience. She also had use the other computer person and had been dismayed with the price due to her lolly-gagging and chatting. She looks forward to using Gary in the future. I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW HAPPY i AM TO HAVE FOUND ITS, IN-HOME TECHNOLOGY SERVICES. I will call Gary from now on. BTW- Gary likes cats even though he is allergic to them. But he likes treating customers as he would like to be treated even more.

Our first contact with Gary was when we could not access our home network. I left an email on Sunday afternoon, received a reply Sunday evening, scheduled a visit for Monday morning. He was punctual and resolved our issue. I then asked him to "clean up" our Apple and he reset passwords, cleaned up our email accounts, moved our music library and provided other house keeping tasks that improved the operation of our computer.Since that first visit he has returned to work when we have had problems with our internet connection and network.His billings are fair and we have received good value in return.We regard Gary highly both professionally and personally as he does not speak down to us or "tech talk" over our heads.We have no problem recommending

Gary was wonderful as everyone had said. We looked up all the reviews and people knew what they were talking about. Gary is the MAN! I called him on Friday and he came out of Saturday ON THE WEEKEND to help. He was on time and very friendly. He was able to help with our Mac and all sorts of problems we were having and had a great attitude and personality to match. We loved that he didn't use all the technical talk with us and kind of "dumbed it down" for us so we could understand. If he had a fix for something and that didn't work, he had another plan plus two more in his back pocket. He was able to get us more space on our computer than we thought we had by making some strategic moving of software, programs and other information. Before he got here we were maxed out on room but he was able to get us more than 50% of usage space on our Mac. Thanks for teaching us what to keep and what to discard and move. TERRIFIC!!!!!!! Gary was professional and on time. Very personable and easy to understand. He explained what I needed and why.The cost and the amount of time it would take to bring my system up to date. After getting the new software he came back andas he was updating explained everything he was doing and letting me ask questions without making me feel uncomfortable. Gary is a Godsend! ?I've been a Mac user for just over two years, mostly self-taught. ?Had some One-to-One training at the Apple Store where I purchased my computer, but that's it. ? I'm seriously hooked on my Mac now and keep investing in more accessories and devices. ?Well, I finally got in over my head and needed some professional help, especially with the MobileMe to iCloud transfer that is required to be completed by June 30, 2012. ?I've also had a sluggish DSL connection for several years and have wanted someone to troubleshoot it. ?I've long been a computer user with enough knowledge to be dangerous, mostly to myself, and happily I found an ad for Gary's services in my handy dandy Angie's List subscriber booklet! ?I'm so thankful that I stopped for a moment to clip that ad because Gary is so knowledgable and friendly, he's professional and just an all-around good guy. ?He addressed all of the computer issues I was experiencing and then some! ?We were having so much fun that we also added some great one-on-one training until my brain was bulging from so many tips and tricks that I had to say 'Gotta stop for now!' ?I'll definitely use Gary's knowledge and expertise in future visits to become better acquainted and more proficient with my computer and other Apple devices. ?I highly recommend his services for Mac users, both newbies like myself and those who maybe just need a little extra help and/or someone off of whom to bounce ideas. ? I'm not sure where to begin. Gary has been my "Go to.." guy for ALL of my computer issues, new purchases, anything Apple or PC related for nearly 10 years now. I cannot say enough of Gary's in-depth knowledge & expertise on anything computer related! He has done numerous new set ups for me such as Apple TV, Mac desktop & laptop, iPad, and at least 2 PC's, as well as a few printers, and helped me wirelessly network all of these to sync perfectly together. I have numerous friends and family members who have used his services and all couldn't be happier with his professionalism, expertise & price. I feel lucky to have him as my tech guy and would never consider anyone else's service. Anytime I've had any issues with iTunes, iPhoto, or even resolving a hijacked email account thru Comcast, Gary's been there from start to finish!
