Our '70's style bathroom had a very large, red jetted tub and veined mirrors. Clyde arrived on time on a Saturday and did a wonderful job. there was a large amount of masking/taping and the sheer size of the tub presented challenges with spraying but the end product was wonderful. The tub and surrounding area now looks new and modern. We were impressed with Clyde's creativity in completing the job and his genuineness and honesty. Will definitely use his services the next time we need them.

Clyde arrived mid-morning & worked until 6:30 -7:00pm both days his was here. Be prepared for long day. The process for my project required a fair amount of extra prep time and needed "down" time for the chemicals to work. I was very pleased that the chemicals Clyde uses did not prove to be a problem for me. I have asthma & chemical odors are a particular problem for me. Clyde was extremely conscientious about trying to vent the odors outside. The wind was blowing very hard that day and blew the odors back in no matter what Clyde did to try and prevent it. I did not have to leave the premises as I would have normally had to. I was amazed that although the odor was strong, the chemicals did not cause a concern for me. This was a major plus for me! I did have to remove all of the taping/paper for the overspray and my husband had to put back on all of the plumbing fixtures. While this was not a problem for me, it is something to be aware of. If you don't know someone that knows how to do plumbing, be sure to ask Clyde about this. Overall this was a good experience and the finished project looks great.

In shopping around for a tub refinisher, I found that prices were pretty comparable across businesses. The first thing that impressed me was when I asked Clyde if there were any companies he would or wouldn't recommend. He told me about several competitors he knew and recommended, some of whom he had trained. I thought he was so professional and respectful, I hired him. I was not disappointed. He showed up on time, did everything he said and the work turned out beautifully. The bathtub looks like it is brand new. I am very happy with the result. I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

Clyde was prompt, courteous, and conscientious of the work he performed. His original phone bid of $250 did not increase even though he needed to return two days after his initial visit in order for the space under the bath tub to dry. He did a good job of color matching the original tub color. Of course you can tell that a repair was performed, but the patch is water tight and supported well from underneath to avoid further cracking.

My husband and I have both been professional painters in younger years and now just paint for ourselves and family but we both appreciate a job well done. So when we ran across a sink refinishing kit, I decided to give it a try. The prep work advised was minimal and as I sprayed the new finish on both my husband and I had our doubts. It turned out just ok. So, with a bathtub probably from the 30's and heavily strained and streaked and a bit rusty about the drain, we decided to bring in the big guns. After much research we decided to call Clyde of modern refinishers. It helps to know that he has a caller ID/ message system where he returns your calls promptly but is not always aware of what message you left. So, in no time were booked and he came about 3 weeks later. He arrived exactly on time. He has such a nice easy going manner that it felt natural to have him in my home (which is tiny with just one bathroom). The paint he uses does not seem to be what ought to be called paint. It is much more intense stuff. His prep work was so thorough and done with passion that as a painter my confidence in the finish product became very strong. When the final coat was on he called me in to look at it. My husband and I were in shock at the exquisite finish. So beautiful! I cannot believe that this is the same tub and cannot believe how much it changed the look of our whole bathroom. There is some talk on the internet about how refinished tubs chip etc. The bottom line seems to be how the prep work was done. Well, the sink I did myself already has a few chips in it but Clyde's finish on the tub is beautiful and I believe with his level of prep it will last the 10 years promised. I do expect that any tub will chip (new or refinished) if a heavy duty plumber hits it with a wrench or you drop an iron skillet on it. So, I make the following recommendation. Rip off a piece of cardboard and have Clyde paint it. You will need this sample for decorating purposes and then you have it for matching if a chip does occurs. My other recommendation is that the new finish is so unreal that everyone is dying to touch it. You have to guard that finish like a hawk and do not let anyone brush their hair in the bathroom till the next day. Plan a family outing so no one even sees it till the next day if at all possible. I highly recommend Clyde of Modern Refinishers and would encourage anyone to call on him. Refinishing is much better on the environment than all required to rip out the old and bring in a new tub which also has a finish on it. His work is exquisite. So, it is now June 2015 and I am on Angie's list and thought I would drop by to say that 4 years later... my tub still looks great!

He was really honest and professional. He indicated that the estimate I had gotten involved more work than he felt was necessary and so the cost was almost 25% less. I would certainly recommend both him and the service to anyone.

Clyde began the process at the exact hour he stated he would arrive. The process takes a lot of preparation work and this was completed on the first day. The entire tub and tile area was cleaned and etched for refinishing. The shower was cleaned and etched for refinishing. The bathroom was completely masked off and everything was covered. A special fan and extraction system was set up to vent any fumes from entering the entire home. Once all the prep work was complete the refinishing began. One would have to see this to believe this, our tub and tile and shower were all PINK, now they are beautiful WHITE. We now have a brand new white tub, brand new white tile and brand new white shower. I can not properly express how wonderful this is, you could not ask for anything better, even if we had put in new it would not have been any better. It is that good!! Clyde is a true ?old school? professional, he does not rush, he does it right and it shows. Thank you Clyde, you are the best.

Clyde showed up on time, did the work in about 2-3 hrs. The result is good in general, except there are some paints that got on the drain hole (the metal piece) which is hard to remove. There is a 10 yr warranty according to him. Price is reasonable and he can come out quickly to fit my schedule. Will hire again.
