I appreciated the time that was taken on the prep work. However, our tub has a "built-in" bath mat (a section of the tub that was a little rougher than the rest). The person I spoke to on the phone said that wouldn't be affected, but it was. Also there are some spots where there is an excess of the glazing material (like a drip that dried?).

Clyde assessed the situation, determined he could repair it, explained what he was going to do, and how much it would cost. While this repair is plainly visible, it was the best solution given that my option was to have a custom built shower installed at a cost of $6000.

I decided to contact Modern Refinishers to repair a small crack in our shower pan. I selected this company due to their great reviews but also due to their very informative website which specified that they also do shower pan repairs. I sent an email including some photos and got a response from Clyde the same day confirming that he does this type of repair all the time which was a great relief as the alternative was to replace the whole shower pan which would have been a much more complex and costlier project. Clyde arrived on time and I found him to be personable, courteous, respectful and honest. He informed me of the possible cause of the crack and then proceeded to repair the surface which he did with great skill as you can hardly notice his work at all. He also color-matched the surface beautifully. We have been using the shower for a few weeks now and the repair seems to be solid with no sign of any leaking. Clyde was confident that the repair would last a long time and I believe him. It was a pleasure to meet Clyde and I am so pleased that he was able to repair our shower pan for us with such little disturbance. I would certainly use this Company again should the need arise and would be happy to recommend them to anyone who has any shower/bathtub repairs or refinishing needs.

We had an old tub that we had painted almost 2 decades ago. It was peeling and needed to be refinished. I called Clyde and he agreed to come do the work. He was professional and friendly and helpful on the phone. The job was completed in one day. Clyde called when he was delayed getting to the house, which I appreciated since i was on a deadline. The stripping was a bit of an unanticipated challenge since it was during the recent cold spell and the tub was so cold the stripping agent was taking a long time to work. We solved the problem with a space heater. I left for work and when I returned, I had a sparkling new lovely bathtub, and no sign of any mess at all. Clyde had to rebuild a deep gouge, and did a great job--you cannot see where the problem was. The experience was just a delight--and i am so happy that I found someone with his talent and work ethic.

Although it took a bit of effort to schedule the job, when we set the date, everything went smoothly. He came at 8 am and started the work which took about 3.5 hours to complete. He was very thoughtful and careful with the job and always removed his shoes on entering our place. He was very pleasant, calm and professional. He explained the process and what to expect. We are delighted to have our tub...looking forward to hot soaks during the cold winter.

He arrived promptly, did a fine job, cleaned up after himself, and left with no fuss.

Clyde is a terrific worker and knowledgeable guy. I'd recommend him and his work to my relatives, friends. He was cost effective up front, good price. Punctual and good work. We ran into scheduling issues due to a shoulder injury and Clyde coordinated and called and followed up like my mother used to do. Clyde's work is superior, he knows his stuff, he spent incredible time and energy on prep and the paint he laid on is positively super. Instead of sending a person out to give an estimate on refinishing tiles, bathtub and shower they ask you to email them pictures of the job that needs an estimate. Fine with me if they can do that by just looking at pictures but it sure would be nice if they responded to my email or returned my phone call.

Clyde was very professional from start to finish. He called on his way here to let me know that traffic was moving slowly and he'd be a few minutes late. I really appreciated the call. He was friendly and personable. We spent the first few minutes talking about the various art we have hanging in the house. He did a perfect job on our tub. It really does look brand new. It took a little longer than he anticipated but he stayed with it until he got the flawless look he was after. And that certainly paid off. He stayed with price he quoted me even with the extra time he put in. He did a thorough clean-up afterwards. I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

Marv was amazing! First, the experience... I called their office and talked to the receptionist who was able to answer the basic questions I had on the process and schedule a day (about a week later) for Marv to come out and do the work. On the day of the job, Marv showed up on time and was incredibly friendly, polite and considerate to work around our busy household that had three toddlers running around. Marv got right to work, taking care to advise me that I should move all countertop items out of the bathroom to avoid dust build up on them and then masking everything off to keep dust out of the rest of the house (it worked, the only dust was in the bathroom when he was all done). He worked for about 8 hours between prepping the area, preparing the old tub for the finish, and applying the new coatings. He was very considerate to be as quiet as he reasonably could during the kids' naps, which is way above and beyond what I would expect any contractor to do. In the end, it came out gorgeously. We waiting the 24 hours he recommended before caulking the tub ourselves and the results are wonderful and i'm sure they will last a long time.

Cliff did a very nice job. He was punctual . In fact, I was disparate as I had company coming, I need it fixed. He fit it into his schedule. I would recommend and use him again. Since he fixed it, we have had 5 kids and 6 adults using the showers since Dec 20 thru Dec 30. Thank you for a job well done!

This is the 2nd bath tub Clyde finished for us. The earlier job was a claw-foot tub a few years ago. The finish still looks beautiful. The odor is the only down side but that is unavoidable and pretty much gone after 24 hours. We were able to use our tub 24 hours later too.

Clyde provided a phone estimate only and was inline with other bids however he has a six year warranty which resulted in award of the work. His work was professional but not completed in the originally estimated time frame of one day and an additional day was scheduled. The first tub enclosure looked great after completion however there were a few drips and an over spray that had to be buffed out. The second tub enclosure required grinding and patching of major cracks before refinishing but the final result proved to be a great improvement. I am happy with the work.

Clyde was on time and professional The work is perfect and no mess was left. The noise and odor you would expect only lasted a brief portion of the hours it took to complete.

Modern refinishers was extremely responsive to initial request, estimate was in line or slightly below competitors. The person showed up on time and worked quickly to clean and then refinish both items. The result was amazing. I would definitely hire again.

Clyde refinished our bathroom tub in march 2013 and did a beautiful job. When our shower curtain fell last month and chipped the tub Clyde came back and fixed the chip at no charge. Our tub looks great after the repair. We are very happy with the service.

We had a 1960's brown iron bathtub refinished to a bright white. The contractor did an excellent job and we are very happy with the final result.

Contractor showed up at the agreed upon time, thoroughly explained the process, options (in my case the addition of non-skid) and how to maintain the tub for best results.

Arrived promptly, reviewed the situation, told me what would be happening, showed me what was happening, vented when needed (some residual odors remain), masked off the tub, finished prep work, primed, then painted then cleaned up await being able to use the tub (at least touch it)

Clyde was on time and when finished the shower pan looked brand new. I was amazed because i thought I would have to replace the whole pan but it turned out beautiful.

Owner/installer was on time even thoughtI-5 loridge problems caused mass traffic problems. Tub was finished as promised within estimate good service.

Clyde was amazing.........I thought I would need the entire tub re-surfaced, as it was pretty old, but Clyde had a better suggestion. He carefully gave a new finished from the drain to the back of the tub, only on the bottom (no side repair needed). There was some non-stick substance added, and it turned out absolutely beautiful. With a bit of cleaning and polishing on my part, the entire tub looked brand new. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone, in fact, just did today.
