I was looking for a company to replace a skylight and saw the great rating for this company. Left a message. No reply. Left second message. No reply. Sent an email through Angies List. No reply. Left another phone message. No Reply. I understand when they are busy but zero response?

We found this company on Angie's List because absolutely every company we've found/worked with on Angie's List has been simply amazing. We're sad to say, this is the first company we've contacted that failed right out the gate. We called 3 times total to have someone from this company come out to give us an estimate for several skylights. Realize they can't get to everyone, but they really should learn the first thing about running a business or do the right thing and call the customer back, even if it's to tell them they're so busy they won't be able to come out right away, or simply aren't interested in the job. Have to admit we're never encountered this from any of our Angie's List contacts so this experience has been truly disappointing.

It went fine and I was very happy with the work that they did. The gentleman that came out and did the repairs was very thorough and very clear in his explanations about what he found and what he was going to do to fix the problem. He showed up when he said he was going to show up. He took a look at what the issues were and gave me a detailed description of what he was going to, what the cost would be and how long it would take, and he came true on all of those. I would completely recommend them. I think the price was fair for the amount of work that he did and what he found.

Jordan showed up on time, looked over the space, went into the attic and on the roof. This job would require a lot of new framing because of the attic height. I received a quote a few days later with some pricing options. In the end the quote, while not outrageous, was just too much of the overall budget and we decided not to add a skylight. There are a couple of other places, I am considering and will definitely call them again.

I haven’t used them yet. They were from Angie’s List. They gave me an estimate for $465.38 with tax. They were also going to repair some siding flashing below both of the windows above the garage for free. I thought that was cool. I will probably call them at some point. The guy seemed really good and I liked him. I had called another guy whose estimate was cheaper, but he never followed up and totally forgot about me. So, I ended up not using that other company. I finally got on Angie’s List and called AAA Skylights. Their price was about $100 more, but the guy was really cool. He seemed like a really nice guy. He knew what he was talking about. He is probably a little bit high for replacing one skylight, but he was going to use a good and an upgraded type of skylight. He went on the roof since I asked him to look at some things. I think it should probably be a couple of hundred dollars for one skylight. His responsiveness was great. He wasn’t going to come out for another couple of days. Then he ended up calling me back and he said that he would come by. So, he was fast.

I contacted 9 different companies, all highly rated on Angie's List. Three didn't respond at all. Of the six that did respond, only two actually came out to my house to give an estimate. Of those, only AAA Skylights was actually willing to help me. Steve stayed in contact the whole way through. I didn't need to be home for them to come out and look over the problems nor for them to come out and fix them so he sent me detailed emails at every stage. He and his team were professional and did a good job cleaning up after themselves. He warned me that there might be delays due to weather and ordering parts but the whole process went surprisingly quickly. The only real delay was me making up my mind what I wanted to do! :)

They were recommended to us by the roofing company. Steve and Jordan did a wonderful job. Steve was happy to answer any questions/concerns that we had. They were punctual, communicated well, and left no mess. Would definitely use them again if we ever have the need for more skylights! We didn't get any other bids, so really didn't have anything to compare the price to. But theirs seemed fair. They even left me the scaffolding for an extra week so that I could paint the high ceilings and walls. This was so nice and required an extra trip for them! Definitely went above and beyond!

We had contacted AAA Skylights, as well as 3 roofing companies that advertised skylight repair and replacement on Angies List. Only 2 responded. Steve from AAA Skylights was very prompt in response to a request to evaluate our leaking skylights. He provided a very clear and detailed estimate by email, and promptly responded to additional questions we had. He was able to commit to a completion date, which many contractors will avoid. He and Jordan showed up on time, kept their work area very tidy and efficient. He was able to determine that our skylights were not installed correctly and the frames had rotted. They were very easy to work with and did an exceptionally nice job. He even took the time to fix a couple minor things on the roof that needed attention. I highly recommend AAA.

Steve at AAA Skylights promptly responded to a request for inspection and quote. He provided me 3 options on the replacement skylights needed and explained the condition that was causing leakage on all of the skylights. I asked for a long term solution and he provided a repair scope on flashing that will ensure that. Once I accepted the quote the work was scheduled and the new skylights were ordered. Only 2 trips were scheduled to repair and install. The work was completed timely and cleanup was included. The quality of the job and product recommended was excellent. Steve recommended on skylight that would open and had both a manual and electronic option with remote. We chose the electronic option with remote and it is fantastic! Our house is much cooler on the hot days and the skylights look beautiful. We did have some rain since install and absolutly no leaks or issues. I would strongly recommend AAA Skylights to anyone.

We wanted to install a couple of solar tubes in the dark hallways and interior bathrooms with no daylight. The manager, Steve, suggested that we go for the 14" Velux Tubes instead of the brand Solatubes as he believes it is a superior product. Steve was punctual and very professional with the entire process. The hallways and bathroom are were cleaned after cutting thru the ceiling/insulation/roof. As a former roofer, he noticed some necessary repairs to our roof, and offered to do a few at no charge (complimentary). He worked on the repairs until the end of the day, explained what other repairs needed to be done in the future, and provided referenecs to companies who do actual roofing repairs and installations as future reference. Afterwards, he gave us the warranty and efficiency reading materials for the solar tubes. So far, we've had a couple of rain showers, and everything seems to be working just fine. The hallways and bathrooms are as bright as promised. I am happy with the quality and craftsmanship.

This project started as we wanted to install some skylights to brighten our living room. We picked out about half a dozen contractors with excellent references. AAA Skylights is one of the three top tier companies on Angie's List with many A rated reviews. Here are the summaries of our experience: 1, Responsiveness: Steve responded fairly quickly (the next day) and made an effort to come to do a careful evaluation and gave us a detailed plan on how the project would proceed. 2, Experience & Confidence: We carefully compared advices and quotes from several different companies. Only Steve had a clear vision of what can be done and provided a reasonable quote. Among the top of our candidates, one didn't want to do a big project, and the other had little experience on how proceed and juggled between several ideas on our first meeting. 3, Price: This is not a small project. Steve and his crew created a miracle. 4, Punctuality: Yes, they showed up at 9 every day during 9 days of construction :) And about half of the time Jordan & Emmett showed up earlier than their boss -- Steve. This is very rare, and great initiative in the team. 5, Professionalism: Everyone in the crew showed great care to our home. This projected happened when my family faced a very special challenge, which requires them to be extra careful with dust and dirt. These three guys did their best to treat our home as their own. Big project like this one is inherently stressful. We prepared for this project and Steve is very experienced. In order to reduce dust, they covered all sides of the living room with plastic sheathing, covered wood floor with plywood over tarp, and barricaded doorways and entrances. Jordan and Emmett paid special attention to many details. Jordan installed new venting. He and Emmett created a small door for an access point inside the attic. Steve laid extra wires for our future needs. They cleaned up every day before they leave the site, and hauled away all the garbage at the end of the project. 6, Quality: Since the completion of the project, we smiled whenever we enter our new living room. It is full of light and beautiful. Even our cat always stares at the skylights, though we are still trying to figure out what she is admiring at. (I'm still trying to upload some photos.)

Everything went well during construction. However, pretty soon I noticed that the skylight plastic was filling up with condensation between the layers. This doesn't look very nice, and I expect it's just a matter of time before algae and mildew start to grow in there, and it gets really ugly. I have notified them of the problem, but got no response.

They were terrific! The estimate was presented in a complete, professional manner. I felt that I was in good hands from start to finish.

We bought a house recently that was built in 1978. The two skylights in the house looked original and we could feel cold air coming through them and hear the freeway noise. We decided it might be worth it to get them replaced. I contacted Steve and got a response from him within 24 hours. Because I work during the day, he told me he would be able to give me a quote without me being present at the house. I asked for a couple different quotes for the large kitchen skylight (4ft x 4ft) as it would be nice to have one that opened in the summer. Within a few days I received a very well detailed quote with three different options for replacement of the large one, and an option to either replace or repair the small one. We were surprised at the reasonable cost of the skylights and the installation, so we decided to go ahead with replacement of both skylights (including one that manually opened in the kitchen). Steve ordered the skylights and they were in and installed a week after we decided to move forward. No more freeway noise, a noticeably warmer house and when I burned the chicken two days ago, we opened up the skylight and the house didn't smell like charcoal! Job very well done and no issues what-so-ever. I will be recommending Steve and AAA Skylights to anyone who needs skylights repaired or replaced.

We had a leak in a skylight and needed repair on a lightbox/built out kitchen window patio. Steve diagnosed the problem, gave me several options of varying cost and did the work. I inspected the work on the roof and thought it was conscientious work. I found them professional on the jobsite, knowledgable and clearly valued doing quality work. Only con is that he does not have office staff and is difficult to reach. I ended up just using e-mail. That's why I gave him a B on responsiveness, etc. But, I would definitely use him again (and since we have a lot of skylights...that's probably good news for him!) and would recommend him. Great work quality. Professional in managing the job. Thoughtful. But, hard to reach. UPDATE: AAAACK!!!! MULTIPLE LEAKS!!!!! Hoping they handle this and don't dodge me as they are hard to reach!!! Downgrading review! 2nd Update: Called me back and did a repair. Not sure if it will hold and not leak yet but I'm re-upping the review (back to a B) just because the owner was very responsive, professional and trying to solve the problem. (hopefully it's solved!). UPDATE: 8/2013. Bumping this back to A. The short summary: They did a bunch of work. It leaked. I freaked and they fixed it at no cost. I did think the owner was responsive and conscientious. I upped it back to a B but wanted to make sure it didn't leak before I put it back to an A. It's been a while - no leaks. Thanks for fixing this and appreciate professionalism of fixing the problem.

He told us that a few of the skylights could wait to be replaced which was nice to hear that someone was honest. His work has held up through our stormy weather.

Got a slow start due to Bellevue permit delay. After that; quick, reliable, and great quality at a good price.

They were there when they said they would be, and finished job quickly.

Excellent work, service and job done on time.

They get an overall B instead of an A, because they didn't show once to do the estimate, and were several hours late to do the work (with no phone call for either). But, they were pleasant, professional and thorough once here. Another company bid the job $350 higher, and didn't go on the roof to make the bid. These folks went on the roof, and covered the skylight with plastic at no cost and no commitment. They also gave a $25 discount for being an Angie's List customer. I'd definitely use them again.

Because we were experiencing a draft from our 13-year old skylight and because outside road noise was increasing in this area, we called for an inspection of our master bathroom's skylight. AAA Skylights came out the same day, inspected, recommended a change, went back to the office and got a new one, and installed it all within about a 3-hour period, from initial contact to job completion. As we talked about our concerns about noise, their representative took extra effort to address that issue. Once installed, he asked my husband and I to go back into the area and to check the noise level. It was so much quieter but he wasn't still satisfied so he went up and did some more work around the seal and flashings which made it quieter still. The new skylight and installation made an amazing difference in noise level for our home near a freeway and has completely eliminated the draft. And talk about fast service! These folks get an A+ from us.

We are almost finished with our skylight project - one day remaining - but we were so excited by the quality of AAA Skylights so far that we had to submit a report. They provided estimates on time, the plan that they had in mind to install the skylights was very good and was reasonable given our budget, and they were very flexible when we suddenly decided to add another skylight. They are extremely helpful and even do things outside of their remit (such as helping us with a stuck door). They are friendly, courteous and they stay late to make sure that the project goes according to schedule. So far the work that we have seen looks very professional and has really changed the character of our living room for the better. We would highly recommend Steve and his team.

AAA is the most professional service company I have ever worked with. They went above and beyond the standard attention to detail at every encounter. The inital estimate was given after 6 pm due to my work schedule. The owner always answers his phone unless working on a project or on weekends. The project had some serious technical challenges and his (free) consultation was invaluable. We special ordered 2 windows which were supposedly "not available" from the manufacturer which have a better warranty than the newer versions. The roof looks perfect and no leaking despite the rainy summer. As a final touch they even cleaned out one of my clogged gutters as part of the clean up. They were simply fantastic!

In May/early June, I contacted AAA Skylights for an estimate on repairing the leaky skylight. I received a relatively quick call back and arrangements were made to come to the house for an estimate which could be done while I was at work. So far, so good. After waiting a couple days past the scheduled date of the estimate and not hearing from the company, I called and was given the cost of replacing the skylight ($1,210 + tax). No other options were given. I asked if it was possible to repair it. I was told it could be repaired for a few hundred dollars to inject caulking. I said I wanted to consider the two options and would call back. When I called back on 6/16/10, I left a message that I wanted to repair the skylight but never heard back from them. I got busy with the summer and on 8/23/10 I left another message asking to have it repaired. It's been a week and I have not heard from them. Perhaps if I had wanted the more expensive fix (replacing the skylight) I might have gotten a call. Overall this company had a lousy response to a request for service (including not offering all the options available). I would never use them and I have multiple skylights which could mean additional business in the future. Not a wise choice for this company.

Steve used painter's tape and taped-out the dimensions before the installation so I could get a clear visual. He even helped by providing me with information regarding companies who make shades for skylights. He was on time, very courteous and always cleaned up at the end of the day (the project took four days).
