Description of Work: I have a failing skylight that I need repaired. I contacted AAA Skylights via their website early last week for an estimate and have not had any response. It's not Chirstmas, and if they didn't get my request then their website is flawed. If they are not able to take on new clients they should note it on their site so the expectation is set that a customer will NOT be contacted.

Description of Work: I needed 7 skylights replaced and I emailed AAA Skylights. Steve came out and looked at the job. Very knowledgeable and he gave good advice. I ended up also needing new roofing. When I contacted Steve he graciously bowed out of the job as it would be best to do the skylights and the roof at the same time. I was embarrassed about wasting his time, but he was very gracious and even gave me advice about types of roofing he recommends and some technique tips that would make the skylight installation better. So even though I did not use AAA, I highly recommend that any member looking for skylight work contact AAA and Steve.

Description of Work: I called AAA to come look at a leaking skylight and give me an estimate. The manager, Steve Belew, climbed up on the roof and had a good look, then said all I need is some caulking. He pulled a tube of caulk from the truck, put some in, and declined to be paid for the service. Wow. If it stll leaks (after the rainy season starts) I will definitely call him back and pay for a more extensive fix. Steve was very knowledgeable and courteous.

 + -1 moreI was in touch with them, but they did not do the work. I just chose not to do the work. I did like them. The estimate was good. If I was going to be doing the work, I would have chosen them. I just called them and they came out the next day to give the estimate. They did a good job.

 + -1 moreBid was initially for wrong dimensions of skylight. Once that was clarified, bid was on the high side, so I went with another company.
Description of Work: Bid for skylights came in about 10 days after discussing the work to be done and only after I contacted Steve. The bid came in with the wrong dimensions for the skylights. Once we got the dimension straighten out, the bid was substantially higher than the company I hired to do the work. So the other company did the work and did an excellent job.

 + -1 moreI called Steve at AAA Skylights because of the excellent comments from his past clients which I found to be well warranted after talking to him. He was very responsive in getting back to me and he gave me some honest opinions on what I had planned even though it meant a smaller project for him. I ended up with a solar tube specialist because that is their specialty and since they are the premier distributor, I get an instant manufacturer rebate. I would definitely use AAA Skylights if I decide on installing a skylight in the future.

 + -1 moreOur eighteen year old skylight began dripping a little yesterday and again this morning. After reading many reviews on Angie's List, I decided to call Steve. He happened to be available to come over and give an estimate in the afternoon. He arrived on time. He looked at the skylight from the inside of the house, and then he went up on the roof. He gave me two options - replace the skylight or caulk around the seal (a shorter term fix for about 1 to 3 years). Decided to do the short term fix, and he went right back up and did the caulking. He had also noticed that the skylight had never been screwed down, so he remedied that situation as well. He is a former roofer who began his own skylight company. He seemed quite knowledgeable and was very professional.

 + 1 moreSteve and his crew were extremely professional and polite. They worked long hours everyday and cleaned up every night. Their craftsmanship was outstanding and they followed through on every thing they said they would do. We highly recommend them to anyone who wants skylights installed or who needs framing work or a dormer.
Description of Work: We hired Steve to install a skylight and ended up with a shed dormer on the back of our house. For years we had wanted a dormer, had plans and permits made but could not find someone skilled enough who could do it at an affordable price. When Steve came to install our skylight, he said he could frame out the dormer with his crew for under $10,000 (plus siding) and have it completed in 2 weeks. They did an amazing job. They removed the old 12/12 pitch roof, framed, roofed and sided the entire 35 foot length dormer. We paid for the windows and siding but they did a beautiful job installing. They also installed a skylight in the bathroom and stairway and put a solar tub in our dark hallway. We are thrilled with the results.

He provided me with written information about the 2 types of skylight installation, and was also experienced w/ the kind of information that my condo board needed to approve the installation in the roof (i.e., proof of license, insurance, and bonding). After i chose the skylights i wanted, it took a short time for them to be ordered and arrived. The installation itself went very smoothly, taking Steve and 2 other works about 11 hours start to finish. They cleaned up after themselves, and everyone was very professional, including saying they would put the cat in a closed room, out of their way, if needed. I hope to hire Steve again to replace 2 skylights in the central hallway of the condo.

Description of Work: Instead of throwing "paste" and hoping for the best as others had done, AAA Skylights (Steve) worked on the surrounding roof. The site was always clean. We live at the bottom of a long driveway with overhanging branches. Steve, without being asked, left his tall truck up on the street so as not to do damage to the shrubbery. Much appreciated. Had huge rainstorm here yesterday and the room was perfectly warm and dry.

 + -1 moreSteve was professional, prompt, tidy, and personable. He and a co-worker came and installed the new skylight and shades in about 3 hours. The work was/is exceptional. They cleaned everything up and even cleaned off all our skylights. The pole to close the shades was left out of the box so Steve ordered us a new one and came back on a weekend to give it to us. Definitely will hire him to replace our other skylights.
Description of Work: We have 2 very large skylights in our kitchen that are fixed and outdated, they let in a lot of heat in the warmer months. Steve came out for an estimate with a nice package containing our choices. When we decided to hire him we talked about the pro's and cons of the different skylights, he gave us his expert opinion and we went with it. We had one skylight replaced with a nice venting Velux and had a shade put on it and on the remaining old one. Since the old skylight was a strange size they had to do a small amount of cutting to accommodate the new one, they installed the new one without a hitch and then inspected all our other skylights for integrity. Steve told us he used to do roofing and we asked if he could look our roof over and he obliged and even told us ways to care for our roof.
