Washington Generators & Electric

Eric arrived right on time (though I was a bit late) and happily started checking all the outlets and GFCIs. He quickly identified a few rather quirky outlets and interesting connections between GFCI-protected outlets. Then Eric moved on to the electrical panel, which was the most challenging part of his visit - it was a commercial-grade panel installed in a home. He very adeptly opened and analyzed the panel, verifying that it was, indeed, wired properly for home use (with only a few very minor issues) - it was quite an unusual challenge, which he handled with professional enthusiasm, excitement, and expertise. I was especially pleased that Eric made a point of asking me whether I had any specific concerns or areas that I wanted examined in more detail. It was very refreshing that he took the time to actually ask how he might be of help, and that he was able to give me estimates for a few potential issues that he identified. I am very pleased with the inspection and look forward to availing myself of their services in the future.

I needed a generator Transfer switch installed on my house and they did a good job. They came out and installed on a Saturday as I needed and the job was professionally done as promised. Price was reasonable and in line with other estimates I received. If I had to pick out one issue - they showed up the first time with the wrong part, which had to be special ordered, so they had to come back and install it on a second visit. But they took care of it without incident, and had no issues.

Washington Electric sent Kurt who was very professional and patient with all my questions. He took care in the work he did and while running the new wiring, he took special care to make the least amount of cuts in my ceiling as he could. Kurt also made sure to clean up as he want along. Kurt also explained how the covers/trims of the new lights worked and what i should look for if i wanted to replace them with a different finish later down the line. As part of the service, Kurt did a walk thru electrical inspection of my house. Checking the fuse box, outlets, etc to ensure everything looked good and followed proper code. He left me with a (thankfully) short list. :) I plan on calling Washington Electric back soon to make the suggested updates.

Eric came out the day after I called for an estimate. He gave me an estimate and some suggestions to help keep costs down. We set an appointment for a month later since I was going to be gone. They arrived on time. Kurt (KIRK) and Tyler. They were very likable. They checked to make sure we were on the same page, walked through the house with me to mark off sockets to be replaced, and took my input on where to route grounding wires since this was a complete update and changes needed to be made. They didn't rust, and with the challenges my house presented spent about eight hours doing the change out. They cleaned up, took payment, showed me what they had done, and left having done a great job.

They arrived on time as scheduled. We discussed the number of can lights needed and the location/spacing of the lights. They worked efficiently and had the lights and dimmer switched installed in about 2 1/2 hours. They cleaned up the work area and performed the electrical inspection. I was pleased with the work that was done and would use Washington Electric in the future. I'd also recommend them to others

Eric did a great job. He emailed me to see what issues were needing to be addressed up front. He called me to let me know he was running late. When he arrived, he focused on the issues that needed to be fixed up front then walked through to inspect the rest of the house. He explained what he was doing and why things needed to be fixed. This is the second time I've worked with Washington Electric, and I will continue to use their services. Eric knows his stuff and is very customer-centric, which is a great combination. When I saw that Washington Electric has a special for conducting an electrical walk through of your home, it was too good a deal to pass up. We have just moved back into this home after having rented it out for several years and there were some issues with a couple of the outlets. Eric came out, tested all the outlets, light switches, and inspected the electrical box. He talked me through some of the repairs that he suggested and offered a number of options of how I might approach some of them (for example, one of the outlets is dead and there are a variety of ways to approach fixing it, all of which have various costs and implications associated with them. We discussed options and I've hired him to come back out and make the repairs. I will continue to reach out to Washington Electric for my electrical needs in the future.

Eric at Washington Electric was very responsive through Angie's List message system and other emails. We exchanged a rough description of the job, and he asked for photos, which we uploaded on Angie's List. The job was scheduled for one week later. Two electricians were here - they even called from the freeway saying that traffic was bad. They assessed the job, and offered to start right away, saying they would finish in 6 hours. However, they finished in ahead of time. In addition to installing the new circuit panel and did extensive grounding. They placed two 8' grounding rods outside the garage wall. The next day a City of Seattle electrical inspector was here, reviewed their work and quickly passed it with no reservations. We are very pleased with the results and would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family, or to use them again. We paid $395 for the Angie's List deal, knowing our job would require more work and additional cost. Washington Electric gave us a $500 credit toward the overall price.

I need a new panel. I wasn't able to use the deal.

I was very pleased with Bill and Dan from Mr. Electric. They were on time, professional, respectful and knowledgeable. They knew what they were talking about and gave us excellent advise for possible future projects. We do not have a lot of funds and they were awesome about keeping the cost down. We did have to pay a bit more than the Big Deal as we are out of everyone's travel range living almost at the end of The Key Peninsula. Thank you Mr. Electric.

It turned out great. He came out a couple of weeks afterwards. I think that they give great service. I would use them again.

It was great. They just went above and beyond what they had to do. The inspection was fantastic. They're top-notch. There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount. They came out the next week after the deal was purchased. I would say they're on the high side for pricing.

iEric inspected the electrical installation in the house and shed. He identified six areas where the installed wiring did not meet current standards. After discussion, I decided to upgrade the wiring.

The guy who came out did a great job.

Upon returning home from being out of town, I realized that part of my house was without electricity. When I went to the circuit box in the garage, I realized that 2 of the circuits had water seeping out from between them. I found Washington Electric on Angies List and called them. I spoke with Eric, and within one hour, he arrived to fix my problem. He also caulked around my outside electrical box to prevent future leaking. He was fast, efficient, courteous, and before long I had power again. I highly recommend Washington Electric, and will use them again for my electrical needs.

I contacted Eric at Washington Electric for a new home generator. He was quick to set up an appointment, showed up on time and spent over an hour with me discussing the project. We went ahead with the new generator and added a new electrical panel for the house as well. The install went great. Eric and his team showed up on time and stayed late to get everything working for us. We were adding a new gas furnace and heat pump near the same time so we used them for that electrical work as well. There was a lot of coordinating with the HVAC company to make sure they were on the same page with what needed to be done and everything went smoothly. Again, the work went longer than they had expected but they stayed late to get everything up and going so that we weren't without heat for the night. WA Electric was professional and curious while in my home. They worked clean and fast. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for electrical work. They were great to work with. We are using them for annual maintenance of our generator as well.

I emailed them and on a Sunday and rec'd an almost immediate reply. My husband is disabled and much of his needs are electrical. Eric was very sympathetic to our situation and even though this is their busiest time of year, he made time to fit us in. That says it all right there. I had contacted another company as well for a bid and rec'd a response days later saying they were too busy for us. Eric was all about helping us. He came out Monday morning and assessed our needs, went over the types of generators, explained everything to me - no pressure - very professional and personable. They ordered the generator for me, provided a pre-made slab to mount it on, came out and did preliminary work, electrical, gas, etc... kept me apprised of everything, great communication!! Scheduled the inspections and viola! We have a generator hooked up to our gas line and it will just click on when the power goes out. I don't have to do anything. The crew was extremely professional and respectful. On time, wiped their feet before entering the house, cut back bushes for me to make room for the generator and cleaned up the brush and deposited it in the yard waste receptacle. They even made sure the walkway was swept up well before they left. It couldn't have gone better. It went so well that I opted for their yearly maintenance agreement. I don't think I'd have anyone else do it. They know their business. I highly recommend them.

8/31/13 -The initial meeting was very thorough. They asked what we wanted to get out of having a generator and then gave us all our options. We selected a 20KW unit. Between their schedule and ours, we planned a 10/7-8/13 install. The crew arrived on time, reviewed the plan with us and got right to work. There were circuits that had to be moved between the existing panels in order to achieve the coverage we were looking for and even with a last minute add-on of a PMM, they finished on-time. The site was clean and everything is fully labeled. They even reviewed all the documentation with us before they left. The install was a Monday/Tuesday and we lost power the following Saturday - the generator kicked on within 15 seconds. We are very pleased with the result and would recommend Washington Electric to anyone. Great job!

No work was done because we never heard back from them. 10-4-13 UPDATE: the day after I posted my comment I did get a call letting me know that they have been very busy and are booked out 6 weeks. It is too bad that it took a post to get them to respond but at least they DID finally respond. I am changing the "F" to a "C" as my goodwill gesture in answer to their goodwill gesture. Being booked out 6 weeks does show that they must be good to be in high demand.

Arrived on time, completely reviewed bid with me and possible options. Noted areas that may be marginal with code and would do if inspector requested. Did not select for work because of long lead time. Bid was very competitive.

Easy to schedule appointment, arrived without difficulty and on time. Knowledgeable on our generator and completed service without problems. Somewhat more expensive than I expected. Will ask to be on routine annual maintenance schedule for future.

Because these folks are so good at what they do, anyone who needs them needs to plan ahead a little. But it's worth it.

They came when they were supposed to. They left their stuff in the garage. They left their trash behind. They did a good job doing electrical. Someone had checked their worked and stated that they had done it correctly. If did use them again I would let them know to take their trash with them.
