My experience with Signature Window and Door Replacement, Inc was excellent.  I had seven old aluminum windows, including three sliders, which needed replacing. Greg Johnson, the salesman who worked with us, was very professional, taking the time to do a thorough presentation and answer any questions that we had.  He spent almost three hours with us on his first visit.  Another thing which impressed us was that he even brought his own portable printer with him so that he could print out a professional-looking quote right then and there, as opposed to just scribbling some numbers on a brochure.  He made a great case for Marvin Ultrex windows.  I ended up choosing the Infinity line, which is Marvin?s high-end fiberglass product.  It should be noted that Signature Windows is the exclusive dealer for Marvin windows in the Puget Sound area. After inking the deal, the installers (Igor and Mike) came out about ten days later to do the exact measuring, after which they placed the order from Marvin.  The windows are manufactured in Minnesota so there is a considerable lead time involved.  About five weeks later Igor and Mike arrived right on time and did the complete install in one day.  They were very professional and cleaned up
everything after they were done  They did notice that one of the windows had a small crack in the fiberglass (not easy for me to see) so they went ahead and installed it and then placed an order for a new one.  This replacement window was successfully installed by Igor and Mike today.
We?re very pleased with the final results.  Everyone we dealt with was very courteous and professional, answering any questions that we had.  I would definitely recommend Signature Window and Door Replacement, Inc and especially Greg, Igor, Mike and Nicole (scheduler).

This is the fourth time that I have used Signature Windows for a window/door replacement. Needless to say, I have been pleased with their products and service each time. Randy Lucas, one of the owners, is always a joy to work with. The company offers quality window/door products at very competitive prices. Their front office help is very professional and their workers know what they are doing. The workers show up on time, work hard, and never leave behind a mess. What more can you ask for?

Project went great. Yuriy and Bogislav showed up and worked steady over two days. I'd read a lot about this team and they were worth waiting for (evidently in demand). They were part of the reason I went with Signature who were not the cheapest bid (but quality in both product, presentation and installation won out).
They were very good about laying tarps over carpets and plastic on the interiors, though they didn't really generate that much dust to start with. Even so, they vacuumed after finishing each room. They also were great about cleaning up outside. When they were done there was no evidence of the work performed except for some sawdust and, of course, the new windows.
There was some custom work needed doing around the center bracing of the living room and basement windows (the big ones) and Yuriy was took the problem solving in stride. The inside custom wrap/divider piece looks like fine cabinet work.
This team was great to have around, friendly guys and easy to talk with.
And the windows look great, both inside and out. Have even had neighbors comment on the improved exterior look.
Thanks Yuriy & Bogislav. Thanks Signature.

Igor (lead) and Mike were the installation team.  They arrived on time, worked diligently throughout the day, and did an excellent job of installing the new vinyl windows.  We had two bedrooms (3 windows each), den (1 window slider), and a bonus room window (large window with two sliders on either end) replaced.  Clean up was immaculate.  Would definitely use again.

From start to finish they were awesome. We got several quotes for new windows, one outrageously high, some very reasonable. When we met with Grant from Signature though, he had the perfect salesman tact - no frills, just lots of facts. We love a guy who hands us the energy efficiency data in a table as part of his pitch!
Scheduling was easy and effective. The workmen were quick and efficient, and gracious with our toddlers watching them work. They noticed that one of the windows had been damaged in transit and immediately scheduled a followup visit to replace it (lifetime warranty for the win!). They also took some time to double check our caulking in the second visit to make sure it hadn't shrunk overmuch.
One final visit was necessary from the manufacturer to repair the door (it kept sticking when closing) which was technically not Signature's problem, but they helped us schedule with the manufacturer anyway and  followed up with us a few times over the coming weeks to ensure it had been fixed in a timely and satisfactory manner (it had, manufacture was great as well).
Overall would highly recommend Signature and would use them again (although with these windows, probably will not need to!). Thank you for the great service!

first, grant came to our home in december of 2014 to discuss our windows which were almost 50 years old and in need of replacement.
he talked about simonton windows and was well versed in his product, warranty which is wonderful and told us exactly how the process would work.
we wanted to think about it and did.....when we were ready in march, we spoke with grant and camilla....set a date.
i cannot say enough positive comments about the professionalism, willingness to answer questions. we were made to feel valued.
a few days later, yuri arrived to measure.....he must have given great thought to our project, including how to move the two windows as requested.
this kind of job is intrusive.......yuri and boggi were in every room of our home and they attempted to be as unobtrusive as possible
they were both kind and well mannered....both knew what they were doing. i could tell yuri had given much thought to how he would accomplish what we wanted and needed for this job.
at every leg of this project, yuri included me in the plan and then executed what would please me. his goal was to do the best job possible and to please me.
in the end, our windows look wonderful.......they even primed the T 1 11.......for the painters who are coming in july....so their would be less exposure to the elements.
not only would i recommend them, i'd say this outfit is the only way to go.
thanks, guys. you done good :)

We have had 3 sliding doors and many windows installed.  There has only been one problem with a very large sliding door and they have been very responsive to fixing the issue at no cost.   As many others have said, we have had Yuyri as our installer and he and his assistants are always on time and stay until the job is done.  And as for the interactions with office staff and Randy, they are always so professional and answer questions or refer me to someone that can.    We highly recommend this company.

I searched a lot, and interviewed many companies, as I wanted to match windows that I wasn't replacing.     Also, my old slider was oversized - 9' x 9', and no manufacturer would touch that size in vinyl, which would match my other windows, so those companies just bailed on me.     I chose Signature Windows and Doors, as they didn't give up like the others - they were creative and came up with a solution for the slider that I'm ecstatic with, and they met all of my other requirements without question (crazy stuff like 1st floor windows had to be security glass and West facing windows are Low-E 3 to keep UV rays out and keep it cooler in the summer).    I truly appreciated the patience and creativity of Brent Lucas, the sales rep, as well as the meticulous efforts in the 'critical measure' and install phases.       During the sales process, I never felt like I was being directed down a path that I was uncomfortable with.
One other major selling point is the fact that once you agree on the quote, they send an installer out for a 'critical measure'. Signature is unique in that the person who they send for the critical measure is also the job lead for the install. That made the entire job go very smoothly.     My installation was done earlier than I thought it would be, as they thought they may be running late due to the complexity of my job - the oversized slider is on the 3rd floor of my townhouse, and not easy to get large items to the 3rd floor.     Once again, they were creative, and were able to hoist the big components up to a deck, versus carrying those big items through my home and risking damage.      I am sort of stunned, as they finished early, and cleaned thoroughly - I was expecting to have to clean the house this evening, but just gained a bunch of time!
I highly recommend this company and their products, and if I ever have to replace more windows/doors, I'll look nowhere else!

My 2-story home was built in a planned development in 1985 with aluminum frame double pane windows. Over time, some of the windows lost the insulating gas and all were drafty. In October 2013, I decided to replace all 15 windows, the garden window and the sliding patio doors with high quality vinyl products. After researching basic info about vinyl windows on the web; and contractor info on Angie's List, Better Business Bureau, Consumer's Checkbook, and Washington Labor & Industries, I scheduled interviews with 7 contractors in October 2013.
*
FRAME REVEAL WIDTH. Under the architectural controls of the homeowner's association (HOA) at the time, the frame reveal width of new windows would have to match that of the old aluminum frame windows, i.e., no more than 1.5" from the outside edge of the frame to the edge where the glass begins. Based on that requirement, I interviewed these contractors about comparable single hung vinyl window products plus liners and casings for upstairs windows.

COMPARATIVE QUOTES (least expensive to most expensive, including tax):

  1. Sears:  unknown; rep did not send a quote.

  2.  R&L Windows:  $12,974

  3.  Signature Window & Door:  $15,718

  4.  Bel-Red Window & Door:  $15,866

  5.  Champion Windows: $18,538

  6.  All Service Glass:  $19,000 (did not bring a sample window)

  7.  Washington Energy Services:  $19,857

SIGNATURE WINDOWS. I had interviewed 4 companies by the time I met with Grant Neiss, owner of Signature Window & Door, on 10/16/13.  He was the most professional, made good suggestions, walked me thru options, explained installation techniques by his long-term installers, measured all windows and patio door, and created a quote for single hung Daylight Max windows by Simonton on the spot with the details for each item. Having that document was invaluable because I could see the info that goes into a manufacturer's order and the details for the installer. Grant followed up the next day with a signed letter extolling the expert craftsmanship of his installation specialists and the company's 100% customer satisfaction guarantee. Grant inspired confidence in the Simonton product he recommended and his installers, so I decided to hire
his company.  Before we could finalize the sale, it was the holiday season.  I then had to delay the project until Dec 2014.
*
By Dec 2014, the HOA had decided that vinyl windows to replace aluminum frame windows could have reveal widths that are wider than the 1.5" aluminum frame. I decided to pursue the type of window that I really wanted - double hung vinyl windows that rotate or lift out for easy cleaning, depending on whether the window slides open vertically or horizontally. Grant recommended Simonton's Madeira 7500 series as the best. I called Signature's office to schedule another meeting with Grant to discuss these windows. Camilla, the project manager, answered the call. After explaining why I was switching to a different product, she made the appointment.
*
NEW COUNTRY, NEW LANGUAGE. To help ensure that I was making a sound decision on this once-in-a lifetime purchase, I mined the manufacturer's website (Simonton), product brochure and the internet to understand the features and options of double hung windows. When I couldn't find answers, Grant was very generous in giving me the information by email or phone, and was very patient answering all my questions. I learned what each designation on the contract meant to make sure I understood what would be ordered.  Grant quickly updated any changes I wanted to make to the contract.
*
HOA APPLICATION.  As part of my application to the HOA to install the Madeira double hung windows, I asked Grant to send me a signed letter that outlined the various frame reveal widths of products under consideration. In addition to sending that letter, he also included a page that showed the perimeter grid pattern that I had chosen and how it would look on each type of window, i.e., vertical vs horizontal. Both documents plus the product brochure helped to make the approval of my application straightforward and successful.
*
PRE-INSTALLATION DETAILS
*
1.  GRIDS.  A perimeter grid pattern creates a small square (daylight opening) in each corner of the window. The manufacturer could not safely make a 3? daylight opening in the 4 corners of each window with a 3/4? sculptured grid because the grid is too large for a 3? square. I had to then use a less expensive 5/8? flat grid and Signature reduced the contract cost by the difference.
*
2.  PAINT COLOR FOR EXTERIOR TRIM. My living room windows have very wide trim and are under the roof overhang. So rather than risking damage to the siding by removing and replacing the trim, the decision was to leave the original trim intact. That meant that I would need to paint the old trim to match the white color of the new exterior trim that would be installed on all the other windows. Since not all white paint is the same color, we needed to know what brand/color of white paint would match the white vinyl of the windows. Camilla, the project manager, was ultimately successful in getting a definitive written statement from the manufacturer, Simonton, that the base color of Sherwin-Williams Resilience Exceptional Moisture Resistant Exterior Acrylic Latex Lifetime Warranty paint  is the color ?Extra White? and will match the white vinyl.
*
3.  ENERGY EFFICIENCY RATINGS.  Grant was able to supply me with the Madiera 7500 thermal ratings for the ProSolar Low-E glass package. The ratings included U-Factor (window?s ability to conduct heat; lower is better), Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (how much sunlight that hits a window makes it inside as heat; 0.55 or less is better in temperate climates), Visual Transmittance (how much visible light a window lets in; higher is better).  He also sent the Structural Data for Madeira 7500 windows re air infiltration and water penetration.
*
I had mentioned that I wanted to have the Energy Star labels from each window. Camilla was kind enough to send a folder to me via the installers that was just for those labels. The folder was even labeled "Window Stickers."
*
 4.  CONTRACT COST DEDUCTIONS.  For 2015, Puget Sound Energy gives a rebate of $75 per each Energy Star rated window up to $1000. This credit was applied by Grant on the contract and Signature took care of giving PSE the information they needed. Grant also applied my Angie?s List discount to the contract.
*
 5.  REVIEW OF ORDERS. Camilla kindly sent me a copy of the Simonton order for my review before placing the order with the manufacturer, plus a copy of the order for the garden window by Comfort Design (CDI).
*
6.  COPY OF WARRANTIES.  Signature provided me with copies of the Simonton warranty and the Comfort Design warranty.
*
7.  LIST OF CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES.  Camilla sent me the list of pre-installation preparations that I needed to take care of, plus a confirmation of installation dates/times and payment instructions.  It was very helpful to have that info in print.
*
INSTALLATION. Yuriy was the installer and Boggy was his helper.  In researching window contractors, I noticed several Angie's List reviewers had mentioned what

I needed four windows replaced for my bedroom.  There were existing ThermaStar by Pella windows in there that I got just to address failing seals on aluminum windows.

I called to get a ballpark quote.  Ballpark quotes are standard for any contractor; as long as the contractor is clear that they don't commit anything based on a ballpark and that a site visit is (usually) necessary to get an exacting price, there's no harm in giving it.  The gal who answered the phone when I called, was rude and didn't know what she was talking about.  I asked about Sound & Security package for windows, she didn't know what that was (it's right there in Simonton's brochures!).  I asked for a ballpark quote, she said they can't give one.  I pressed the issue, no avail, and ultimately near demanded to talk to a sales rep (I'm in sales.  Ballpark quotes are par for the course.).

Brent contacted me back and we went back and forth, settling on a ballpark that made sense.  I reassure him that the reason for the ballpark was so I don't waste Signature's time; if the price is way outta whack, I wouldn't even bother with a site visit.  Since the price was at least within expected range (plus a little bit), we went forward with the transaction and settled on windows that met requirements - two casement, two picture.

Got done within 2-3 weeks and they look better than I thought they would.  Igor and his associate did a great job with challenging openings.   (Side note: Igor himself referred to the windows as having the "Sound & Security Package", which means it IS a Simonton term, but according to him, he frequently ran into the same issue with certain people at the office not being familiar with the term and only knowing it as "laminated glass".  Seems like a training issue to me.)

You will note that I gave Signature a "C" for Responsiveness and a "F" for Professionalism.  Not having a more specific category for this, see below:

Negative #1: The office "gal" who initially took my call refusing to offer a ballpark quote, not being familiar with the windows, rude, nearly refusing to let me talk to a sales rep, etc.  Bad first impression.

Negative #2: The office "gal" who scheduled Igor's measurement visit told me a different time than when Igor showed up (he showed up at least 2 hours in advance).  That's fine, it's not his fault, but it reflects badly when your admin staff can't get scheduling correct.

Negative #3: Brent had said that the trim was going to be stained white.  It's not, it's stained brown. It turns out that the future color of the siding will be a dark beige color, which should blend nicely with the trim anyway.  But it currently conflicts with a different Simonton window, so I'm going to have to figure paint color out.

Negative #4: There is a gash inside one of the casement windows, in the embedded plastic.  I don't blame Signature for the gash, but it's disappointing that they don't check for defects before scheduling customer installs.

Negative #5: Signature does not do warranty work for the window.  Something is submitted off to Simonton, which gets farmed out to another contractor.  Signature only does new installs, but I feel that if they don't catch defects before installation, they should be on the hook for the replacement install.   Worse, you're pawned off to the office staff again, who are way more rude than your initial consultant.

Negative #6:  "Tina" from the office calls, essentially ranting about payment being refused by my bank and them being charged a return fee from BofA and refusing to allow Brent to come back out to measure additional windows.  This was unexpected, because I ensured 100% of the money remained available and actually checked the account every morning, looking for the check to clear. Apparently my bank processed a deposit late the same day BofA submitted the check, causing the problem.

I have no issues with a company calling about a payment problem - they need to get paid.  The problem is how "Tina" handled the communication.  Instead of calmly calling me to inform me there was a problem, she called ranting and with an attitude.  That's bad.  Additionally, their bank notified them of an issue on 3/16, 4 days after they deposited the payment, yet they sat on it for almost two weeks instead of contacting me right away.

Negative #7: I heard a scary rumor from Brent that prices increased "40%".  Don't know if that's just in general or just the windows or what, but it's a very high number.  I love the windows, but what I paid is about the most I could justify paying for them.

I am now in communication with another window provider that's actually outside of the area, but was willing to consult with me.  Polite office staff, polite sales rep, accommodating.  The way it should be.

EDIT: downgraded Professionalism to F accordingly.  See Negative #6 above.

EDIT: And then Signature lies and says that this experience wasn't true.  "D" overall since they would rather lie to protect their own than make it right by the customer.

When I call your office for a quote, I expect to get a quote or be transferred happily to someone who can provide one.  That's not what happened.  She claimed, quote, "we don't do ballpark quotes", which was a lie.  When I asked to speak to a sales rep she said, quote, "they're just going to tell you the same thing", which was also a lie, and I have documented proof in the form of a ballpark quote emailed to me a few hours later.   Lies in of themselves are condescending.

When your staff member calls me and says, quote, "I can't allow Brent to go out there for another measurement!" a week after talking to him and confirming it was okay, and 5 times says, quote, "our bank charged us a fee!!" in a louder-than-standard tone, guess what?  That's rude.

What she SHOULD have said was:
"Mr. Customer, there was a problem with the payment.  Do you have an alternate form of payment?"

I give an alternate form of payment (which I was happy to do when I verified the bank issue), no need to threaten to not let your guy come out and measure additional windows (i.e. more business) as previously agreed, business continues as usual, you can even restrict payment methods going forward, that's fine.

If "you care", then you need to understand how to resolve these issues amicably.  That's called professionalism.  She lacks it.  I'm sorry that's not apparent to those she reports to.
Response from Signature Window & Door Replacement
"We truly appreciate social media and member based rating agencies like Angle’s List. It allows clients to get a good idea of the type of company we are, how much we care about what we do and the amazing craftsmanship of our installation teams. On Angie’s List alone, we’ve had over 250 “A” reports, so it’s not an accident that we’ve received their Super Service award for 8 straight years. 99% of the time, on completion, our customers are very satisfied and are thrilled with not just the installed products, but also the service we provided…. Starting with our dedicated office staff, to our experienced sales team, and ending with the expertise of our craftsmen. On the rare occasion we have a situation or concern, all of us address the problem immediately because we care. Over the course of the last 16 years we have built our reputation by working tirelessly to insure every client knows they made the correct decision by selecting us to help them with their window & door needs. This is clearly demonstrated in the hundreds of reports we now have on Angie’s List. We don’t want to speak negatively about a member beyond saying that his version of the events recounted above is vastly different than reality. We do however; feel the need to defend our office staff. They are dedicated professionals who have been employed by us for many years and have received numerous accolades by our clients for their prompt, courteous, and outstanding service. They are the heart and soul of our business and have been the foundation for our success. None of them would EVER speak to a client in a rude or condescended way. It’s just not who they are and the disparaging remarks made in this review are very hurtful and are completely without merit. We are extremely proud of our team and will stand behind them in their defense to honor their dedication to our company. We are truly blessed to have them representing our company and can assure anyone reading this response that you will find our commitment to our employees is well founded. You can count on them to provide you a positive experience and nothing remotely close to what was described by this particular member."

We had 3 estimates for this job including one which was lower priced. Of the other two companies, one of them ( the lower quote)emailed  a quote and never followed up and the other was assertive and bashed the competition.  I'm a sales guy and wont buy from people that don't ask, but also don't appreciate overly aggressive sales tactics. Grant  gave me with a good presentation of the  product and process and had a printer to give me a professional looking quote that I could sign if I was ready to go. He was first in, so I told him I wasn't signing today, but would get back to him. He didn't continue to try to force the decision, but did send me a thank you note the next day which is a great way to say we would love your business without the intrusion of a phone call. After examining all of the quotes I decided to do an additional door and window and make some changes to some of the others.  I told him what I wanted to pay for the job and he gave me the price I wanted.  Also he did the paperwork for the PSE rebate and subtracted from my subtotal which saved me from the hassle of waiting for it and $100 in sales tax.  After signing the contract Eddy came out and checked the measurements.  Installation was 4 weeks down the road, Eddy and Tim showed up on time and did a professional and clean installation. All I have to do is paint the frames and my house is quitter, warmer and you can see out the windows again (old ones were 35 year old aluminum complete with fog from failing) . I waited 5 years to do this and am very pleased with the end product.

Previously, Signature replaced all of the windows in our home.  They were wonderful to work with, provided a good product at a reasonable price, and did a great job on the installation.  Based on our experience with the windows, we included them in the bid process for our door replacement project.

As with the windows, Randy was very punctual for our initial meeting.  We discussed the pros and cons of the various materials and products.  He was generous with his experience and knowledge and assisted us in selecting the door that fit our requirements.  His bid was the least costly of the companies that we spoke with.

We were scheduled for a trip.  So that there was no disruption in the timeline, Signature quickly sent one their installation leads to our home to take the final measurements and to determine the materials needed.

The installation date was out about a month - not a problem as we were in no rush.  Part of that time was for the manufacturer to build the door and stain the interior trim material sent by Signature to match the door.

The installation team arrived earlier than promised so that they could be set up and ready to go by the time that they had scheduled.  The covered the floor to prevent damage and worked carefully and quickly.  We had not originally planned to replace our door, so we had the interior walls painted.  Since we changed the color of the walls, we needed the new interior trim to match the footprint of the old woodwork.  They did a great job accomplishing this.

Should add that Vitaly (lead installer) was great.  He provided me with the exterior trim material early so that I could paint it prior to installation.  There was also an issue where the top of the crown piece was not stained as the door manufacturer had not realized that this piece would be used as such.  Randy quickly ordered the stain and Vitaly came out on a Saturday to remedy the situation, even though he was scheduled to be go vacation.  He said that he did not want to leave before all of his customers were taken care or and nothing was waiting on him.

Can't say enough good things about this company and its people.

Grant, the owner, came out and gave the initial quote in August.  I had to think about it for awhile, so did not respond until November.  They were happy to give me the same price as quoted earlier, and we got the windows installed Mid-January.  One of the picture windows was broken in shipping so had to be reordered.  Uri and his crew were great and the windows are perfect for us.  We got the more expensive fiberglass windows and I'm glad we did - they look great.  We are also happy to have screens that work and windows that open properly.  (the old ones were old aluminum ones).

This is the second time I have used Signature, and will use them again to get the rest of the windows done (probably this summer).

I am extremely unhappy as after windows were installed that we noticed from the outside windows are a pale green....not noticeable from the inside.  They are a very different color from our windows above them upstairs.  If this had been the front of my house I would have been furious.  We were never told of the color difference before installation. We will eventually have them replaced again to match the rest of our windows.

And.....there is one window that almost every morning is totally clouded up condensation while the windows on either side of it are fine.  When I mentioned it to them,,,really no response.

Response from Signature Window & Door Replacement
"This Angie’s List member asked us to replace south-facing windows that have clear and direct sun exposure, which was creating a great deal of heat build-up during the day. LoE glass was recommended to help mitigate the impact from the sun and aid in controlling fading of interior furnishings. The client was given a full presentation of the effectiveness of the glass and viewed samples during the demonstration. While not discernable from the interior looking out, LoE glass does have, when viewed from the exterior, a greenish hue and will have a slight color difference compared to clear glass. Clear glass will not meet today’s Energy Star guidelines and does not offer protection from direct sunlight, fading, or offer any insulation characteristics necessary to be considered an energy efficient product. The window replacement recommendation made by Signature is in line with industry standards and by all accounts was serving this client with the best and latest technology to solve their issues. We maintain records of all calls to our office through CRM, (Customer Relationship Management), software and show no records of this client contacting us about any issues. The customer received information regarding the potential for occasional condensation forming on the outside of the glass. Today’s high performance windows reduce the amount of heat that flows through the glass, which on rare occasion can result in droplets, (dew), forming on the exterior glass. This is the same condensation you may see on your car windshield or lawn in the morning. Several atmospheric conditions must be in place for this to happen: Clear night skies, (where the heat escapes to the atmosphere), cold temperatures, moisture in the air, and no air movement. Which windows on a house may have this infrequent issue can be caused by the design of the house, positioning of the house, as well as nearby objects, (shrubs, trees, etc.). Therefore, if you see condensation on the outside of your window, this is visible evidence that your energy is being saved, and that your window investment is paying off. We were sorry to learn that the client was unhappy with the color of the glass compared to their old inefficient windows, and with occasional condensation, however, we believe Signature provided them the best technology available in window products to solve a number of issues they wanted to be addressed and we stand by the windows that were installed."

Randy was great - he gave us lots of information and recommendations.  It came to install and they were really busy.  My initial install date wasn't workable and they worked hard to find another date that worked,  But be warned - they get very busy in the summer, so start the process early if you want a quick install!  The installation went off without any issues.  I would definitely recommend them.

Signature Window and Door are a pleasure to work with.  It began with Randy coming to my home for a consultation.  I have a 1906 craftsman and wanted to replace the original windows with something that would keep with the character of the home.  Randy offered many suggestions on products, details, trim, etc.  We ended up choosing solid wood, double hung windows with multiple grids in the top sashes and a coordinating front door.  Randy understood scale and proportion and recommended window sizes and a door that would complement the house.  We also wanted all of the old painted trim removed and replaced with vertical grain fir inside and cedar outside.

Simon came to install the windows and door.  He is a talented carpenter with an amazing eye for detail.  He removed all the old windows and trim and created a new style of trim work for both the exterior and interior.  The windows and door were installed perfectly, and the new exterior trim was neatly weather sealed and ready for paint.  Simon had a natural eye for what looked good on my craftsman house, and the new trim makes the house look amazing.

I would definitely recommend Signature to anyone.

Randy and his team were punctual, courteous, responsive, and the bid was competitive. Yuriy, who did the actual install with his team, is one the best craftsmen I have worked with in more than 20 years of owning a home. He was pleasant, polite, punctual, very demanding of his own work, and cleaned up after himself. He always made sure to check with us when he found something unexpected, but I quickly learned to trust his judgment. When the work took longer than he expected, he came back on a saturday to finish it to his own high standards rather than turn it into a rush job. One screen was damaged in shipping and Camilla promptly ordered a new one, which arrived shortly thereafter. So far we have really enjoyed the quality of the windows. The added light of the new windows in the living room has transformed that space.
We had invited a bid based on their Angie's List reputation and I definitely recommend them.
