Signature Window & Door Replacement

I was a bit skeptical about using Angie's List, as I am a new member, so I obtained 4 bids. Each came to my home and they were all really fair and helpful. However, each wanted a minimum work of $1,000 or more. I was not sure I wanted to spend that much. I had a leaky window in my family room and wanted to replace it before the heavy rains set in. I had 2 windows stacked on top of eachother. Master bath window is directly above my leaky family room window. Brian came out to look at my windows and recommended that I definitely must replace the family room window as it had already failed and was rusting from the inside out. Water stains lined the window sill. I was leaning toward replacing both windows, but did not want to spend more than I needed to. So, I initially replaced just the family room window. I chose Signature Windows, not only because they came in lower than everyone else, but because they treated me with respect and was straightforward. I spent about $850 for window and labor replacement. A very enegy efficient Milgard window now sits in my family room. They came in and replaced the rotted window and cleaned up everything well! Upon window removal, they checked for signs of rot or the source of the leak. Since the window only leaked during heavy rain and it had been dry for a few months, it was difficult to determine the source of water infiltration. Anyways, my husband and I were very pleased with the window, service, and how quickly they were able to complete the job (3 weeks to order window and about 3 hours total to remove and install). This was completed in September 2010. We were still worried about the master bath window, just above the newly replaced family room window. Maybe it was the source of the leaks, no one could say definitely. Since we were so pleased with our experience with Signature Windows a few weeks before, we decided to call them out again and have them replace the master bath window. Upon removal, they found the source! They determined that our window had failed and was pooling water at the corner, just above where the family room window, below, leaked! They showed us the rot in the siding, did the repairs and extra caulking. Also, a little extrawork for free (shh--don't tell the boss)! They replaced it with a tempered glass Milgard window. Needless to say, it is now January 2011. We have endured snow, hail, freezing rain, and heavy rain---no leaks! We love our new window and are very please with the care and service that Signature Window Replacement has given to us! Highly recommend them and would definitely use them again in the future!

Our experience was very favorable! Our first contact left a very good impression as the owner, Grant, sought to meet our needs rather than "sell" us windows. His expertise and servant attitude helped us make the right selections for our home. The installers started on on time. They were very professional, and went to great lengths to assure our home was protected during the installation. Following the completion of the work, there were a couple of minor issues that were promptly solved to our complete satisfaction.

They were excellent and did a professional job. They weren?t expensive but they weren?t cheap either. The installers knew exactly what they were doing.

I had a huge slider off the formal living room to our deck that was single pane aluminum as well as one off the kitchen and a very old door that were absolutely sucking the heat out of the house at an astonishing rate. I called Grant to give me an estimate in September. We ordered the sliders and door in November and they were ready ahead of schedule. My goal in addition to being able to retain heat was to take advantage of the federal tax credit so getting the work done before the end of the year was really important. Our installation team was absolutely great. They arrived on time, and worked very hard. This home is "just one of those houses" where you never really know if an installation is going to go well until you start taking things apart. We have vinyl siding trim around all of the exterior openings and Signature was the only company, of the three that I received quotes from, that gave us any hope of being able to retain it. Yuriy and Andrea are so professional and worked diligently to make sure the fit was just perfect, and they were able to keep all of the trim intact. They cleaned up after themselves and were able to complete a really a big, difficult installation in one day. As for the windows, they are beautiful and perfect. The goal has been achieved! We have a warmer house and lower heating bills. Thank you to the whole team, both in the office and in the field. Signature did a wonderful job for us.

They did a great job and I was really happy with them. They were really good and I looked at a lot of people. They were really straightforward about what the bid was for and different options they had. They were at the home show and I touched base with them there. They did a good job on the whole bidding process. When they came out they were really clean and did a really good job of installing the windows. There weren't any problems and everything seemed to have been done correctly. I was really pleased.

Grant came out late in the evening to accommodate our schedule, and was helpful and courteous. They primarily do new construction style installation, which costs a little more, but he gave us quotes for both types of installation and didn't pressure us into the more expensive option. We decided to go with the new construction style, and would recommend it because they do it well and the results look phenomenal. We chose Signature in part because they were able to install the windows sooner than other companies who gave us quotes (lucky for us, the windows were installed three days before a snow storm). They started and finished the project on time. Vadim and crew were polite and efficient, and left the areas where they were working cleaner than when they arrived. We went with the low profile Simonton windows, and have received many compliments on them. We will definitely refer our friends and family to Signature for window replacement.

I called Signature requesting an estimate to replace all windows in my home. Grant came out, was on time and very helpful and informative. We weren't sure what kind of windows we wanted (we're first time home owners and this was our very first big project). Grant walked us through all of the different window brands he carried and explained the differences. He made a suggestion based on what would match the home best, but did not hard sell us at all. He very patiently listened to our questions and went over the windows at length. At the end, he wrote up an estimate and printed it off, which included a calculation that clearly showed us how much of the Tax Rebate we would qualify for (all of it!). We did not sign during the estimate nor did he ask us to. Grant gave us the bid, his card and left. I sent in the signed estimate after we decided to go with Signature and we received a phone call by the end of the business day to set up the final, critical measurements. The project foreman who came to do the measurements was very nice and respectful, offering to take off his shoes before entering our home. While he was measuring the windows I was busily unpacking boxes from our recent move. The foreman offered to help me move big boxes around the house before he left-- I didn't take him up on it but it was sweet of him to offer. The only snag in the process is that I was told the company scheduler would call to get the final dates on the calendar once the order was placed for the windows. I received no call. After 10+ days I emailed Grant and asked about when we should expect the windows installed and I received a quick response from the scheduler with the dates, and he said the paperwork was in the mail with the dates and 'what to expect' flyer. I received no paperwork. I emailed again 5 business days before the install was to happen, based on the previous email and the scheduler replied that he had 'been meaning to ask' if we could push back the install dates from Friday to Monday. I was not happy to hear this, as I had made work arrangements to be home and had another contractor coming to work on the house during the time he wanted to take. I was able to make this work and told him they would have to finish before the other contractor came because I wasn't rescheduling that work. When the actual crew showed up they were polite, efficient and hard working. They really worked hard and the windows are beautiful. The job was estimated to take 3 days, then 2.5 after the days were changed around, but the crew worked hard and finished in 2 days. They cleaned up after themselves and vacuumed and swept all of my floors. The caulking looks nice and the foreman took the time to walk me through and show me where all of the levers, locks, etc were on each window. Other than the scheduler who never did send me any paper work or call me, Grant and the crew were superb in their professionalism and I feel I definitely got my money's worth.

I love the products (Simonton windows and Codel door) and the installation by Yuriy and helper was great. Very professional and excellent carpentry skills, especially when a problem installing the kitchen window against a ceramic tile sill was addressed. They worked very hard, non-stop from 9:00 to 5:30 and all looks beautiful. Reason I'm rating overall "B' is mainly due to the communication, or lack there of. First of all I was not notified when the installer was coming to take measurements. Would have liked to have been home for this meeting although measuring from the outside didn't seem to present a problem. Secondly, after waiting a few weeks I decided to call the office regarding status of my order to see about scheduling. Third, the bathroom window was not ordered with the obscure glass I had asked for and when they reordered the replacement it was the wrong pattern. A month later, third time was the charm. I chose Signature because of all the great reviews on Angie's List and competive pricing. I only wish there was a bit more communication.

I wrote a very detailed report last year with several photos and my computer timed out and I lost it. Further, I have waited to submit this report b/c there were some issues with the windows. At this point and time, I truly believe the issues were with the windows and not Signature's installation, and, quite possibly, a rare batch of windows. They are excellent to work with and even this summer Randy sent his excellent installer, Yuri, to my home to touch up on some caulking that had gaps and to install a support for the garden window. We had mold in the garden window the first winter it was in. Signature and the window company have both come out and the problem extensively examined and resolved (yeah!). There is disagreement on whether a garden window requires support bracing when it is of a smaller size - ours was mid range but there is an issue with our wall. As we were going to install granite and the window was already leaning, Yuri came out and built a beautiful brace. Initially, Randy was a great sales person and they offer great products at competetive prices. I often think the true test of a companies integrity happens when things go 'wrong'... and I can honestly say that this company stands by the products it sells, and their installation. Randy and the office staff communicate very well. I apologize for not submitting this sooner. Thank you so much, Randy.

We had 3 bidders for an estimate for 8 windows. Signature's price was extremely competitive (within $2 of the other lowest-priced competitor.) I agonized over the decision, as working with Grant from Signature was a wonderful experience. He was very responsive, right on time for his appointment and spent alot of time at our home explaining everything. He provided a bid on the spot. I could have easily gone with Signature and I'm sure they would have been excellent. I chose the other bidder based on an assumption that they could deliver earlier. Ends up Grant could have matched the install date, so perhaps I should have gone with Signature. But I did want to at least put down for anyone trying to decide on vendors, *at least* call Grant for an estimate - you'll be glad you did.

They are great and we have used them twice now. Their craftsmanship is superb. I would recommend them to others.

Done on scheduled, arrived in the AM. Courteous installers. The job was done quick, our areas were left clean, and the new windows are great.

Grant was magnificant. Came out, arrived on time and spend over an hour with me explaining issues and options and answered my many questions. No pressure at all. I had other estimates so of course had more questions. He prompty answered emails and in fact had to come out once more to clarify ideas about the garden window. Vadim came and measured the windows and went over the installation process. Installing took and day and half--Vadim and his crew were professional and efficient and kept me updated on how things were going. The clean-up was excellent. Would highly recommend Signature Windows.

They did a very good job. They were real professional and got it done in a day. Their crew was clean and efficient. They cleaned up after themselves and we would definitely use them again.

Randy gave us the estimate on June 3, 2010, and the work was 99% completed on July 30, 2010. There was a small windows which did not lock and consequently a new one had to be ordered. I called up and told Brian that I would withhold $1200 until that window was fixed. He apologized and a new window was ordered. As soon as it came in to Signature I was phoned and a date for the final installation was agreed upon. Urie came and completed the job. Everything was done in a professional manner and the people couldn't be more gracious. I highly recommend Signature Window Replacement, Inc.

Their work was very good. They did a great job on the installation. They were nice to work with. The price was a little on the high end, but their work was worth it. I feel it was a good value.

Randy was great. Came by, looked at job and spent a lot of time explaining things and making suggestions. He really knows windows and doors and really worked within our budget to get exactly what we wanted. Very impressed by his extensive knowledge and expert opinion. This company is one of the best to work with. Amazing attention to detail. Randy came by for a walk-through to review final details once we decided what we wanted. He was also very patient and responsive to calls with questions we had. Never once did we feel like he just made the sell and handed off the job to his installers. This is a first class company with project ownership from start to finish....and wait, haven't even gotten to the installation yet! Installers were amazing. Simon and Kevin installed everything in two days and took great care in their craftsmanship. Stayed on task, were very efficient, explained things when questions arose and we were most impressed with the quality of their craft. No short cuts or cutting corners for these guys! They were very good at keeping work areas clean during and after the job and did a beautiful job of trimming the windows inside and outside. What's really great about the fine folks at Signature Windows is that there is no passing the buck. There is complete ownership of each and every job. Everyone is part of the team, tuned in and knows what's going on. It's rare to find companies like this! Highly recommend to anyone that they call Randy when considering purchasing windows and doors. When all was said and done, we were so thankful we called them. We were so impressed with Randy at the first meeting, we didn't bother with a second bid. Our new windows and doors look amazing and we're extremely pleased with the job that Signature Windows did. First class job and people indeed!

Randy Lucas, owner, came right on time to give us an estimate. He was professional, experienced, and did not pressure us at all. Within 24 hours, he emailed our estimate and we agreed to work with Signature. Four to six weeks later, Simon and Kevin started installation. Everyone was very profesisonal, proficient, curteous, and we were kept well informed as to every step. The installation took 4 days, We also had Dan Rice stain our wood casing for us, recommended by Signature. Another excellent job and a wonderful person to work with. We would highly recommend Signature to anyone seeking a professional, customer friendly, company to do an excellent job in your home.

We had several other window companies give us bids to replace our windows. All bids were within a few thousand dollars of each other. We choose Signature Windows because we felt Randy Lucas was very professional and thought he would stand behind his product and his company did not use any subs for the installation. The office called and set up a date for installation, the 2 installers were nice and cleaned up each day. We did have one issue; one of the window sashes arrived from the manufacturer with a defect. The issue was immediately handled and the window sash replaced. We would definitely recommend Signature Windows. Randy Lucas is a business owner who has integrity.

Randy Lucas is the owner. The last time I used the company, I paid $8000-$10000, as I got the whole house done. They did great work. The process was so easy with them. They did the measuring and Randy did a good job. He made it really easy. His products were really awesome. I am in the process of using them again.

Randy and team was fabulous. I received 4 bids, and they were the most professional, courteous, and informative. They arrived on time, delivered exceptional service, cleaned and hauled away all old materials. We replaced 19 windows and I waited for almost a year to see how the windows faired in cold and what little heat we've had this summer. All good reports. Randy said we would have approximately 10 to 15% increase in warmth and coolness based upon outside temperatures. I'd say that was absolutely true. Can't recommend Signature more!

One of the first things that impressed us was that Randy, the owner, came out himself to provide the initial consultation. He was professional, friendly, and provided lots of good ideas regarding our window replacement options. Of the three estimates that we received, Signature was within a couple hundred dollars of the other two. We decided to go with Signature in part because of their responsiveness to answer questions and make any corrections or revisions to the quotes. Signature was available to install the windows as soon as they arrived. They were also very patient with us because we changed our minds a few times before we finally picked out what we wanted. The installers, Simon and Kevin, were excellent. Before they started work, Simon explained all of the work that they would do on that particular day; they made themselves available to answer any questions or address any concerns during the install. They were very conscientious about keeping doors closed for our dogs and baby. And finally, the quality of work was flawless. We would recommend Signature to anyone and would definitely use them again if the opportunity came up. For anyone reading this, put Signature in your top three when you get estimates - you won't be disappointed.

Randy Lucas came to our house, at our request, to get an estimate for window replacement. He explained to us that we didn't need to replace the window frames, just the glass. He gave us two companies who perform this service saving us a lot of $$$$. His philosophy is to put himself in the customer's shoes and ask himself what he would do. The owner came to our house and showed us our options. We picked the door we liked, and he told us that the crew foreman would come by to make precise measurements and schedule the job. All this happened at the exact date and time that they said it would. They quoted us a firm price that was quite reasonable. The crew of 2 men showed up when they said they would, and installed the door very quickly. They left the work area at least as clean as it was when they started. We have now had this door for about a year and 4 months, and it works perfectly. This is one company I would go back to without hesitation.
