The experience was fantastic. Grant came out to the house and did a short overview and we discussed the quote. His first number out of the gate was 1/4 the quote of another company, and right on par with other companies. We greatly appreciated his approach. No high pressure sales. Friendly. Easy going. Knowledgeable. When we agreed to the job, the office contacted us to schedule. I think the lead time was something like 3 weeks. When the crew came out, I instantly liked the foreman Vadim. The rest of the crew was friendly and chatty. I was home the whole time of the install and they were great people to be around. Clean, professional, and friendly. They worked through the job methodically and did a great job with the finish work. The casings and sills were clean and well installed. The outside trim looked great. And the caulking was perfect. And they did a great job on cleanup, and you could hardly tell they were ever there. The only hiccups were with the front door and one window. The front door was a double Codel door. The manufacturer did not include the proper hardware, the weather stripping was the wrong color, and sillplate did not have the holes for the door locks pre-drilled. They had to return later to fix these. And one window had a chipped handle that required a visit from PlyGem.Overall the experience was spectacular and we highly recommend them.
Description of Work: We had all the windows replaced, the rear slider, and the front double doors.

Our 17-year-old condo, which we recently purchased, has windows that barely work and seem to attract moss buildup, in spite of my husband cleaning them with a clorox solution. After getting permission from the condo association to replace them (as long as they matched the others and no permit was required), I made an appointment with Signature Windows to come and give me an estimate. Randy arrived a few minutes early, looked at the situation, and let us know almost immediately that our windows were fine and did not need replacing ;-) Instead, he explained how our particular situation (top floor, no eaves) was allowing a lot of dirt and moisture to collect in the grooves and was causing problems. We watched in amazement as he got one of the windows taken apart, cleaned and working perfectly. This took some time plus a trip down to his truck for supplies. When we asked him what we owed him he said--"nothing"! In fact, he said that a handyman could do the job and if the handyman has any questions to call Randy, which he emphasized that several times. Needless to say, my husband and I are so thrilled that we don't need to replace our windows after all, and saved thousands of dollars. I can't imagine a more professional, helpful, not to mention friendly company anywhere. If A+ were a choice, Signature Windows would have received them in every category!
Description of Work: Randy picked one of the hardest-to-operate windows, lifted it up out of its frame, and asked if we had a hooked tool that he could use to pull the vinyl runner out of its track (a paint can opener worked fine). He lifted out the whole track, took it out on our deck, got some cleaning supplies from his truck, and got a BUNCH of gunk out of it!! It soon became obvious why things weren't working well and moss was collecting in the grooves! When he put that window back together and sprayed the track, it worked like a charm.

Grant Neiss was very professional and knowledgeable when he came to the house to give a bid. Later on as we were deciding, questions were quickly answered vie email prior to the start of the project. Pricing was competitive and we opted to go with this company as Grant and his team were very responsive. The day of the work, the crew came out and work long and hard. Had some issues with tear out that were not expected but they worked through it just fine. I felt the install crew had a great knowledge base and good attitude given the cold weather and difficult conditions to get windows down the hill to our home. Only one concern is that after the install, I noticed some greasy finger prints inside of the french door that would not come off with typical cleaning products. Since it was fiberglass and not a painted door, I did not want to use anything too harsh. I contacted Grant for suggestions on what to use. He wrote back with a suggestion. When this did not work, I emailed Grant again. Thereafter, I never heard again from him. I later received a "thank you for your business" card in the mail but felt I was left hanging as to how to address the black finger prints. I feel somewhat like the check was cashed and I was left to just deal with the smudges. Update: 5/4/12: Grant called and apologized for not getting back to me. Offered a couple of more things to try to remove the smudges. Neither worked. I finally tried something else and it worked. Problem solved. As I said, I would use this company again as I thought they were good other than the last oversight, of which he apologized.
Description of Work: Replace large picture window glass, install/frame in an additional large picture window, install/frame in new french door and tear out sliding door.

Randy, on of the owners, took care of all the customer service and did a nice job. The installers were skilled and professional. We did run into a misunderstanding with regard to one of the products, but Randy and the team were quick to make good on it. I was impressed with their skill, service, and care and would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone.

Replacing all your windows and doors can be a one time big project and you want to get it right. My wife and I reserched window and door installers extensively on Angie's List. After reading most of the reviews on several companies,we narrowed it down to a couple companies that we thought we would enjoy working with. We chose Signature Window after meeting with the 2 companies. We met with Randy Lucas, who is one of the two partner owners of Signature Window. It was a tremendous help to talk directly to the owner instead of a sales represenative on commission. Randy's approach was very informative and professional but also very relaxed and fun. It was obvious from our very first meeting with Randy, that he was very exited and confident in his company's ability to meet our expectations and needs for this project. He was very easy to work with and very accommodating to our schedule. Randy made many helpful design ideas that we incorporated into the project. We proceded with the job with Simon, being our lead installer . Simon did a excellent job in keeping us informed every step of the way.Always on time and always available for any questions or instructions on how our windows and doors worked.Simon was very congenial, which made the 2 week process go fast. The windows and doors look beautiful. We were very sastified with the honest agreement price and the excellent craftsmanship of the end product. Cathy & Larry Eldred

purchased on home in october 2011 and needed all windows on home replaced. interviewed one other windows company based in angieslst and also signature windows. after speaking with randy lucas, the owner, we didnt need to look any further. randy has years of experience and the biggest thing for us, knew what kind of windows we were looking for. he really knew the products, cold. we ended up getting a simonton vinyl window and we just think it is really great. simon was our installer and he did a fantastic job. punctual, professional, did all the clean up. how about responding to our needs, communicating with us? A+. both randy and simon took our calls and emails and responded right away. in additon, as we were putting in a granite countertop next to our garden window, simon coordinated with our contractor so that the transition was real smooth. how about follow up? A+. we had one plastic window crank casing that cracked during installation and it was replaced in a snap. also had two window screens that were defective and it was replaced in a timely manner. it is obvious that signature windows take pride in their work and stand by their product. this was real important to us. we were looking for quality of work and knew that we werent getting bottom basement pricing. for the service and product we got, we thought the pricing was more than fair. in short, we heartily endorse signature windows.

After a scheduling snafu, the work went well. The crew was responsive to our requirements to use cedar trim the same thickness as the cedar siding to maintain a uniform appearance. Upon request, the crew replaced a window sill to improve the appearance of the bow window. The wrong front door, through no fault of Signature, was delivered and was temporarily installed. Signature worked with the door vendor to allow us to visit the factory to select a door that met our needs and coordinated the installation of the replacement door. One of the screens was defective and Signature promptly coordinated a replacement from the vendor. Signature did an excellent job of supplying forms and required stickers to allow us to apply for and receive the maximum possible rebate from PSE. The true sign of excellent service is responsiveness in addressing and correcting service issues. In all cases, Signature was prompt, responsive and courteous in addressing our issues. I highly recommend Signature for window replacements and door installations!

Signature Window Replacement is one of the most professional operations I have experienced in a long time. The owner himself came to our home and wrote up an estimate on the spot. He was very courteous and professional. His office staff were great about coordinating and confirming schedules. The installers were skilled craftsmen who did a meticulous job of installing, caulking and cleaning their work area. They left our home cleaner than when they came to it. They were very polite and kept us informed of their progress. They were conscientious workers. I felt that I receive an excellent value for the dollars spent. Signature Window Replacement goes the extra mile to exceed their customer's expectations. They care about what they do and they value their customers. I would highly recommend this company to any who are looking for quality and value.

We researched many window replacement companies, narrowed down to four for in-home consulations, and were far and away impressed the most by Signature. The quality of their product, the no-pressure sales approach were heads and shoulders above the rest. Randy is the ultimate professional. Always arriving on time, always providing end-to-end details of the work to be performed. The installers were courteous and left the job in immaculate condition. Signature Windows is simply the best!
Description of Work: This was the third time we have used Signature Windows - this time to replace our patio doors. We live in a 20 year old house and over the past five years Signature has replaced all the windows in the house. Not only are they more beautiful and functional, but also they are more economical. With our old windows, we had to use blinds and black out curtains to keep the heat out of the west facing rooms. Now we don't have to use anything at all and the rooms are bright, cool and comfortable. Our cooling and heating bills have been drastically reduced - nearly paying for the new windows.

It went great. Randy came over and we walked through what I wanted. He spent time with me providing different options. He then turned around a quote within a few days. Then his crew came out and did the work. I came home and it was as if no one had been there - the house was so clean. But I had new windows! I love my new windows. Everyone was extremely professional from start to finish on this project. The lady who contacted me to schedule things and follow up was very nice. I would use Signature Windows again.

Our salesman, Randy, provided neat, organized and easy to understand computer-generated estimate spreadsheets via email. Randy was always quick to return phone calls and took all of our requests seriously and in a timely manner. Randy was very cooperative with helping us make sure that our new windows would qualify for the $750 PSE window rebate. Our jobsite foreman, Simon, was personable and courteous. He was an overall jolly worker. The installed products are really nice to look at. We used Simonton Daylight Max windows. All of the installed window glass was washed and looked nice at the end of the job. There were several issues with the cleanup of broken glass and sawdust that were addressed by Signature to our satisfaction; they even gave us a $50 restaurant gift card along with the check for our trouble.

From the estimator to the installers, everyone was friendly and professional despite the fact that we have 40 stairs down to our house. My partner and I have fixed up houses in the past and the quality of Signature's workmanship is very high and the price was reasonable, complete and there were no unexpected additional costs. We have an old house and the crew dealt with carpentry issues connected with installation as part of the job and without any problem. We went with Simonton windows and the quality is excellent, transforming a previously cold bedroom into a comfortable space. We will not hesitate to hire Signature again in the future.

Everything went very smoothly and the interruption on our lives was minimal. Randy followed up after the installation, and we explained that two of the windows were sliding in different directions than we specified. It wasn't a huge deal to us, but Randy confirmed this on our order and sent his people out to correct things within a week. They were clean, punctual, and friendly. I can't say enough great things about them!
Description of Work: We have 35+ single-paned windows in our house, and we decided to replace them all. We had met with over six different companies, and the bids we received were all over the place - but none were as inexpensive as Signature! Randy came to our house several times and it was clear he knew what he was talking about. We had several odd-shaped windows that we wanted to make changes to, and Randy had the solutions for all of them. They replaced sliding doors, turned paned windows into one giant window, and made a weird pentagon-shaped window a nice rectangle. They were fantastic!

We had Signature replace many of the windows and sliding doors in our home a few years ago but opted not to replace the aluminum transom windows at that time. This year we decided the rooms would be more attractive and we hope more warm/comfortable this winter with new low E vinyl windows that are near the roof line. Randy came to the house and got measurements and provided us with a bid, we accepted this and they scheduled Yuri to install the windows after the windows were delivered. They are so long that the factory delivered them directly to our home. The old windows had 3 mullions so each window was divided into 4 parts, the new windows have only 1 mullion so the view is much nicer and less obstructed. Yuri did a beautiful job installing them and added missing trim inside the window in the family room and outside. See photos.Everything went well, they took good care of our tree that was in the way and kept the house clean as well. We painted the trim and took photos for the after.

We have been immensely pleased the with the top-rated Simonton Daylight Max windows which the skilled Signature team of Clayton and Shawn installed for us 2 years ago. The Simonton windows are awesome. Six of them get the direct westward afternoon sun, but are so energy efficient that the rooms remain comfortably cool. Wax candles on the table 6 inches from the direct westward window in August do not even get warm to the touch, and we can now enjoy vases of flowers anywhere in the rooms, without having them bake and droop in the direct sunlight. Our house is of early 1950's vintage, when the trend was for placing the windows high up on the walls, so as to leave lower wall space for furniture placement. We could not even have imagined what a wonderful difference it would make to have our sills lowered, replacing those small high windows with large windows which we can actually see out of. So we have been looking forward very eagerly to updating the windows on our lower level as well. We knew from experience that the team (yes, the same team of Clayton and Shawn!) would do an efficient and skillful job, and they did, from start to finish. The whole process was completed in 2 days. Randy and the team were thoughtfully attentive to the fact that 2 of the rooms were our home offices, involving necessary disruption of our workspace ,computer equipment , etc. Randy consulted carefully with us in advance to plan a sequence for the work which would get us back to functionality in our offices as quickly as possible. Randy, as owner and project manager, provides attentive customer service, checking in on the project at multiple stages, to make sure that everything is progressing smoothly. We could not be more pleased! If, like us, you wish that the original builders of your house had provided larger windows to allow more of Seattle's precious daylight to enter, it is not too late to make it happen! Call Randy!
Description of Work: Replaced 5 windows and one exterior door in our lower level of our home. The task involved lowering the sill on one large window, to give us more daylight and view, and replacing our old wooden exterior door with a glass-paneled one to take more advantage of natural lighting. They installed new wood trim inside and out. This was a followup project to the extraordinary job they did 2 years ago on the main level of our home, when they replaced a slider door to our deck and 12 windows. On 6 of those windows they lowered the sills by more than a foot, flooding our tree-shaded house with light and absolutely transforming our living space. This current project completed the transformation process.

I am thrilled. Setting up the appointment was a little confusing because I called the Seattle number but was re-directed to the Auburn office. That is where my confusion ended. An appointment was quickly set, Randy would provide the estimate. Randy arrived on time for our appointment and immediately removed his shoes when entering the home. I saw that as sign of professionalism and respect and very much appreciated it. He listened to the work we wanted to get done, took measurements, talked through ideas, and was able to give an estimate the same afternoon. Several things really stood out for me: 1) I was meeting with one of the owners which means he has a deep vested interest in his business and clients. 2) He understood the aesthetic we wanted for our 1936 home. 3) Randy was the ONLY window consultant to point out that the adjusted height for the double-single hung windows would not meet egress. Three other companies came though our house and he was the only one who did the correct calculation. 4) The work is not subcontracted out. 5) They had policies and procedures in place for dealing with lead paint. 6) Trim, inside and out, was included in our estimate. Randy has a good understanding of design for older homes (ours is 1936) and knows what details are best for the traditional look. We originally planned to have double-double hung on the front of the house, for cost and look, we decided to go with the single hung. Randy was more than willing to make adjustments to the estimate as needed and answer any questions I had about this process. He was very patient while we weighed our options. THE ONLY GLITCH: I never received the call/email/mail to set up our appointment. I received a confirmation call the week prior to the work being done, fortunately we were available on the two days. The Installation: Fabulous! Simon is very sweet and respectful. They also tolerated our very friendly dogs for two days. Simon and partner arrived on time both days. He had a good plan to deal with the heat (well... "heat" for Seattle). Work started right away with plastic going on the floors and over the furniture. Everything was well covered and protected, including the floors where tarps were laid for a walking path. They were very patient and accommodating when I would fuss with the plastic to make sure we were as protected as possible without shrink wrapping the rooms. Before I knew it, the first window was out and a set of double-single hung was in its place. The trim was up and it was a whole new room! Outside, the shingles were preserved, except for some paint that was taken off with the tape used to anchor the plastic, its an easy fix with a bit of paint. If possible, I recommend using gaffers tape. When the work was done, the plastic was wrapped up and area vacuumed. All of the windows look fantastic and we very much enjoy the lovely breeze! I can't wait to finish the rest of the house!
Description of Work: We replaced six aluminum windows in our house, the work was to install two double-single hung, three sliders, and one double hung. When starting this process, we knew we needed to drop one opening to make the front windows match and drop one opening in the back room to meet egress. While our house is grandfathered in terms of egress, we figured it would be best to make this adjustment now. During our meeting, we learned that the lowering the front opening for the double-single hung windows would not legally meet egress. Randy suggested lowering the side window for egress. In the end, for egress and aesthetic from the exterior, we lowered four of the six windows. The windows we decided on: Milgard Tuscany, vinyl, white.

We have a wall of windows on two floors facing South and it gets heavy sunlight, rain, wind, etc. We had just bought the house and the old windows were cracked and leaking and appeared to have more caulk than glass. Clearly these windows had been a problem for the previous owner. We wanted new windows, very high quality, from a reputable company, with a great warranty since we knew a wall of windows facing South can be a huge liability, prone to leaking and generally falling apart. Budget windows wouldn't work for this job, so we surveyed several companies, and chose Signature. Grant, one of the owners, was wonderful, helpful, and patient. He fully understood what we wanted. He sent a crew led by Vadim, who was amazing. His knowledge is very deep, well beyond windows, and was able to understand the various issues, structural and otherwise, that we faced with this wall of windows. He built a solid, water tight, and beautiful structure. Comparatively we found that Signature's prices were a little higher than other companies, but we were willing to pay more for a company with a stellar reputation, a great warranty, and fantastic workmanship.
Description of Work: We had six wall to ceiling windows replaced--essentially they built a wall of windows facing South on two floors of our house. They also did mill work on the inside in Hemlock, unfinished.

Randy was very informative when he gave us the estimate and was able to write it up immediately. I had already checkout this list and purposely got two estimates before scheduling Signature to come out, as I suspected that they would easily outbid the other two. I wasn't disappointed. We got what we needed. The vinyl windows look just fine in our older home. The white blends in perfectly with our trim. We had our estimate the last week in June and the installation was finished the last week in July! The install took part of two days -- it probably took them a total of 8 hours . The installers, Simon and one helper, worked efficiently , thoroughly and considerately. My neighbor, who watched from his yard, commented on what a 'well-oiled machine' they were. He was impressed with the fact that there was no horsing around, no dilly dallying, but still good comraderie. They seemed to enjoy their work (well, we did have good weather!) and they finished when they said they would. They used drop cloths and cleaned up everything. Their follow up was professional. They are a small company, have a friendly staff, and care about their customers.
Description of Work: We had 9 new Simonton vinyl windows installed to replace our aging aluminum windows. . 5 small sliders; one large picture slider, two double hung, and one single . Added to that, a sheet of double glass inserted into a single frame.

They are great. We would rate them highly. They are awesome. We put really expensive sliders on the front door and the kitchen window. We have used them before and we would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: We used Signature Window Replacement Inc to install the kitchen window, a front door and a new sliding glass door for us.
