They were cheaper and were great. They were good at their work. They came out when they said they would come out. They were efficient with their quotes. The job was done well and they cleaned up well. I thought they're competitive.

It went perfectly. This is the second house I have used them on. Very professional crew. They even trimmed out the windows they did not replace, so they all matched on the outside, and fixed one window the previous home owner installed incorrectly.

I explained that I had a handle came off my window and that I felt the window probably needed replacing. Questioned the other window would not open and felt it probably needed replacing also. I was told to call a handy man. They would not even come out to evaluate whether I needed repair or new window. Quote " Because of the economy the only service offered would be minimum of 2 thousand dollars." Because of the economy? What kind of a reputation are they trying to uphold in a bad economy. Two windows is 1 thousand dollars. Thats not good enough. This business has a listing of A. That A standard is not in my consideration and A.

Response from Signature Window & Door Replacement
As a family business that strives to serve as many clients as we can, we do our best to direct clients that call us for services outside of our normal course of business to companies that can more effectively help someone with repairs like fixing a handle. A handyman would be the most prudent and cost effective solution for this member. It is true, we have a $2000.00 minimum order but that is in no way related to the economy. It is simply the cost of running a business and being good stewards of our company. There are definitely other companies in our industry that are better suited for a small repair or changing out one window. However, as the owners of Signature, we take the narrative seriously and have discussed the members comments with our office staff to insure our message is clear when potential clients call us.

They were great. They gave us a discount even though I didn't have a coupon because I told them I found them on Angie's List. It was a great price. I went through the whole process with another place called Boger, which got an A rating on Angie's List as well and they were even going to come and do it and theirs was like $1500 more plus their sales technique was horrible. They pressure sell you and that kind of stuff. With Signature Window, they came promptly and they did a good job all around. Just coming from that other experience, I was extremely grateful to not be dealing with the other people. I'm looking at the big picture window right now, they forgot to fill in a nail hole on the piece of board that they took out and put back in. He just needed to fill them in with some kind of putty or something and he forgot to do that on one window but that's something I can do. I'm going to use them again in the future. I've got lots of windows that need to be replaced and that's where I'm going to go. I'm not going to shop around.
Description of Work: Signature Window & Door Replacement Inc. replaced 5 windows and 1 was a great big picture window. They actually did the framing around the windows because I wanted molding around the windows which wasn’t there before and they included all that.

So far, Signature has been wonderful to work with. They are professional, punctual, fairly priced, and offer a good quality window. Our installation is approaching, but the estimate & measurement process has been very smooth so far.

I was very happy with my experience with Signature Window. Randy came out to give us an estimate, and I felt very comfortable with him. There was no hard sell, and I felt he listened to our concerns and understood our needs. While Signature wasn't the cheapest estimate we received, we felt it offered the best all around value because of the quality of both the product and the installation. We were also very happy to be able to buy a locally made product from a locally owned business. Randy worked with us to adjust the original estimate. The windows were installed by Clayton and Sean over the course of three days. The crew was polite, prompt, and very good about clean up and communication. Overall, I'm very happy with the work; we love the new windows, and I would recommend Signature to any one who is looking to replace some or all of their windows.

Signature Window owner Randy Lucas came to my home to look at project of replacing windows in sunroom of older craftsman home in April. Randy was very helpful with helping me to decide on the best arrangement of window sizes for excellent visual appeal and also good value. He gave me a few estimates with different window brands and configurations and was very honest with me about how the windows are priced. We used Lindahl cedar windows as they were most cost effective for our project. He has a few teams of skilled reliable carpenters who have worked with him for years. He had one of the window installers come out to look at the project so we could discuss some of the construction issues, to make sure a long span of windows had enough structural support and also about lowering the window sill on one side so we could have a better view of the garden area from inside the sun room. Scheduling office was easy to work with. Windows arrived and were installed within the time span they had planned for. Installer was excellent, he was skilled and experienced working with structural issues of older houses . They protected adjoining room from dust. They were very efficient with both time and equipment for the job. I was surprised with what they got done in 2 days. They cleaned up after themselves. The installer Simon was a delight to work with. All in all, I am delighted with the outcome. The windows make a big difference and it has totally changed how we now use that room. The process was smooth and went totally as planned and everyone was very professional. We feel we got an excellent value.

Communication with Signature was easy and straightforward, and I appreciate a company that can make use of email to confirm appointments and email estimates out. Randy was nice and knowledgable, and helped me pick the right vinyl windows for controlling the noise level from the busy street out front. I received a detailed estimate a few days later and while I liked working with Signature Window, I will not use them for the work at this time. I may not replace my windows at all, but if I do, I got a slightly cheaper estimate from a different company and I will likely use them instead.

Patio door was scheduled to be installed in May. Received a call that they could install it between 1-3pm on April 25th if that could work. We were babysitting that day but thought we could work it in. Paperwork previously sent cautioned us to have the paint ready for the Everwood interior of the doors which we selected over almond or white since we wanted to keep with the original bronze aluminum patio door "look" we were replacing. They kept us posted during the day when they were running late and confirming that they could still complete job that day. Arrival time was 5pm, and job completion was 9pm. We didn't have the paint available for painting, and still wonder how we could have done it while they were here given that we were running out of light. Maybe they would have set the door up for painting first thing while they were taking the old patio door out so that the paint could dry. I will never know when that could have occurred. What was critical was an interior strip on the stationary panel that was covered up by the sliding glass door once installed. The installer did instruct my husband on how to take the sliding glass door off so that it could be painted later, but another strong body would be required. It wasn't until July that we got to thinking about it knowing that we had to get another strong body to handle the 6 foot sliding glass door. One has to admire installers, and the job that they do. Signature installers were able to take off the exterior wood and replace it with the removed wood so that when they finished, it pretty much looked like a completed job without having to stain new boards, and it will have the same stain base when we stain the house again. I did write to Signature to ask them about scheduling some help, but they were going to be very busy until late September and scheduling would be hit and miss since their territory is from Everett to Olympia and taking the door out and reinstalling it on the same day would be unlikely so that didn't seem like a good option. Ultimately, we did find an strong body to help us, and my husband and son did a fine job of figuring it out while I got the painting done. We also discovered that the top of sliding glass door that was covered by trim also needed painting. My feelings have been mixed, but I think they ultimately result from the choice of "Everwood". It requires staining or painting, and requires the homeowner to do the job. While painting worked and was easier, staining might have been a better choice. because I am not entirely happy with the outcome. If Marvel had offered a "bronze" choice in interior colors as they do in exterior colors this whole issue would never have arisen, and I would have been much happier once the door was installed on April 25th. Instead, I have waited until the job was actually completed on July 28th to write this , figure out why I was dissatisfied, and try to give a fair review. Installers did a great job, but the best outcome would have been to have had the whole patio door installed without needing additional finishing work on the door itself.

We had Signature Windows crew replace all of the old (original) windows in a newly purchased 1946 house by premium vinyl windows. We emailed Randy our request, and he responded immediately and came out to look at the place and gave us different estimates for the different window materials (vinyl vs fiberglass) within about a week. We did not get other quotes (after reading though Angie's list reviews and talking to Randy), but we think the price was more than fair for what they did. After we decided on the premium vinyl windows, Randy came once again to re-confirm the type and the number of windows and doors. He was always very helpful and gave great advice without pushing for it which was much appreciated. And after that we had yet another appointment with Vadim (who actually installed the windows) for precise measurements. We really enjoyed the degree of rigor and attention to detail there. The installation date was set about a month later, since they were overloaded with work, but in our case it worked out just fine with other construction around the house. Vadim and Oleg came as scheduled and completed everything within a week, as promised (they even came in on a weekend), although our project was not an easy task. The old windows had steel frames that were built into the brick of the house, so Vadim had to cut all of that sturdy the framing out. Besides, after they finished one of the rooms, we realized that we would much prefer differently shaped trim in all other rooms to match the door trims. Vadim made it happen without any heavy sighs or complaining, they now match perfectly and look fantastic. Vadim and Oleg cleaned up perfectly after themselves and were very pleasant to have around. In a word, we had a great experience with the entire Signature Windows crew, would not hire anyone else.

I was getting bids on replacing a dozen or so windows in my home. We'd gotten one estimate, had made an apt. for another and then I spoke with Signature. During our conversation I mentioned that we had broken seals and needed new windows. The gal I spoke with asked if I'd considered just having the glass replaced rather than entire window which would save me 30%. Then she asked who made my windows and if I was the original homeowner. When she heard that we had Milgard windows she said that I should contact their service dept. because they have a lifetime warranty on the seals. She gave me the number and said I should call back if there was anything else I needed. Long story short (by only a little) - we're covered and will have all our windows/glass replaced for free. First company we spoke to knew all the details, but rather than suggesting we contact manufacturer delivered us an estimate for close to $9,000! Thanks Signature for your honesty and professionalism!!

Totally professional throughout all steps of the process. Co-owner, Randy, came out approximately three weeks prior to installation to measure and give a quote for window replacement. After checking with one other provider I decided to go with Signature Windows for four window replacements. I received a call the next day from the office setting up installation for approximately a month out. Several weeks later I received another call telling me they had moved up the installation date by approximately ten days. Head installer, Simon, arrived exactly at the appointed time on the scheduled date and proceeded with installation, using a two-man crew. Installation took approximately six hours. When I returned from work later in the day, all windows had been installed, workplace cleaned up, and Simon and his crew explained to me about the installation and how to work the windows. There was some unexpected damage to drywall in one of the rooms, which Simon promised they would return to repair the following week. This was done in a timely and very professional manner. I would not hesitate to use Signature Windows again when I decide to replace the rest of the failing windows in my home.

We originally chose Signature because the company carries Milgard windows, and we wanted to maintain consistency. Grant came to our house to conduct an estimate, both for our living room and kitchen. The estimate for the windows was fair but we opted to only replace the living room windows. Camilla at the Signature office followed up with us to schedule dates for taking measurements and the installation. Clayton and Sean (I hope I got his name right, it might be Alex) came to the house to take measurements, and then arrived on the scheduled date to install the windows. We were wonderfully surprised by how quickly these two gentlemen were able to remove two sets of storm windows and install the new windows. They were thorough in cleaning up after the installation. The windows are fantastic. We will definitely use Signature again for the kitchen windows, and we would gladly recommend them.

Couldn't have been better. Randy (from the North Seattle office) came out to give us a free estimate. He worked with us to help us get the quality we were looking for. He was easy to reach, responded promptly to all of my questions, and was helpful with recommendations for fitting the house's design and enhancing its appearance. The work was scheduled around the time promised and was then promptly done. The installer took care of some rot in one of the frames, and cleaned up after his work. The results are beautiful. The Infinity windows were not the cheapest but they're clearly worth it, and Signature's lifetime warranty is reassuring. We decided to replace the windows with the goal of not having to replace them again for many years--so for us it made sense to pay more up front for high-quality fiberglass windows. They look great inside the house and out, the new frames built by Signature's installer suit the house well, and the windows are so solidly built they're a pleasure to open and shut. One window arrived with a crack, and Signature is taking care of ordering and installing the replacement for us at no charge. Signature's staff have all been a pleasure to work with. They've done everything they promised, promptly and courteously, and they've made the whole process as painless as I can imagine it being.

We put off replacing our windows, like I think many people do, for a very long time. We talked about doing it for years, but the entire process just seemed too daunting, so we would put it off. Again. Finally we decided this was the year! Still dreading the process, we contacted Signature, based on Angie's List reviews. Grant Neiss, one of the owners, came to see us on April 29th, 2013. We liked him immediately. Very nice, very professional, and not at ALL high pressure. He walked us through the entire process, which surprisingly did not sound all that daunting when it was actually explained to us! One of the main things that impressed us was that Signature work is "turn key." Meaning they do everything--install the windows and do all of the finish work inside the house as well. We always thought one company would put the windows in and that we would have to hire a carpenter for the finish work. Not with Signature! They do the WHOLE THING, start to finish. The bid came in right where we expected it to, so there were no surprises there. I have read many reviews about the high pressure sales tactics other window companies use, but Grant could not possibly have been more gracious or less high pressure. Once we made the commitment, they informed us we would be contacted at least two weeks out for the job, and sure enough, a couple of weeks later we received the call that they would be here May 29th. One month from our initial meeting, and as promised, two weeks out from the job. The other thing we dreaded was the huge crew we imagined descending on our house. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that it was a two man crew for the entire job. A two man crew that showed up each and every day RIGHT on schedule, cleaned up every night like they had never been here, and who could not have been less intrusive in our lives. But for the power tools that stopped and started, we wouldn't even have known they were here much of the time. They put tarps down wherever they worked, covering the carpet and all of the floors, and were incredibly tidy. But what was even more impressive was how meticulous they were. The work is beautiful! Inside and outside. There were even times we informed them we were okay with something that involved perhaps a "short cut." For example, one of the doors they replaced is between the garage and outside. We told them it really wasn't necessary to "finish out" the trim on the inside of the door--it's in the garage. We weren't worried about it. But they did finish it--as beautifully as if it was one of our interior doors. They left us paint--everything we might need in the future for touch-ups--and again, they were just meticulous, which really mattered to us. They worked incredibly hard every day, they were prompt, punctual, and polite. And everything about their work exceeded our expectations. From start to finish, our Signature experience was excellent. They kept all of their promises, and were very responsive at all times. We could not have been happier! We have only one regret: We wish we would have called them years ago!

Initially we had a very good experience with the guy who came over to talk to us and give estimate about windows/door. He was very friendly and experienced. The problem came when we made appointment. Had appointment for a day when I was home all day and no one showed up or called. Had to call their office to find out what the problem was and they said they had problems with their books and didn't pencil us in. So because we had already given them some money we had to reschedule. This time both workers showed up and did the job expected. My problem is that they installed a piece of wood on the floor as the French doors were not as wide as the sliding ones. They never said that we would have to put wood sealer on it so now it is stained from foot traffic and looks really bad. Also one of our windows now has a gap in it on the inside framing. Day after writing this review for Angie's List we were contacted by Randy at Signature Windows. He had us send him photos of cracked window and wood where French doors are. He has been very polite and wants to fix these issues which makes us very happy. Now just awaiting dates where we can schedule to have new window installed and wood sanded down and sealed.

Response from Signature Window & Door Replacement
It’s been 15 months since we completed this project and as far as we knew this member was happy. We only learned there were problems by reading their Angie’s List Report online. We immediately made contact with our member. When every job finishes each client fills out a job completion report (survey) providing feedback on their experience. This job was completed on Feb. 15, 2012 and our member reported that our crew was professional, did a great job and that they’d happily refer us to their friends and neighbors. We acknowledge there was a scheduling mishap. This was totally a misstep at our end and we felt terrible to inconvenience our client. When this project was being scheduled we were in the process of transitioning to a new computer scheduling program and did experience a few hiccups. The installation, originally scheduled for two days, was completed on the second day, so as not to disrupt our members planned time away from work. Job completed, as promised, on original end date. Customer happy. Upon contacting our member we determined there are two concerns, both of which we’re now working on to facilitate their full & timely resolution. 1) Cracked window. We contacted the manufacturer and they are currently rebuilding this window. This is completely covered under their lifetime warranty. 2) Discolored threshold. The oak threshold for their outswing French door system was not prestained, and although not part of the original agreement, we are going to return, sand and stain it for them. We’re currently in the process of scheduling a date with our member to correct both of these issues. At Signature we pride ourselves on our talented craftsmen and constantly strive to exceed our customers expectations by providing outstanding service. We always encourage our clients to contact us if they have any questions or concerns. We can only resolve an issue if we’re made aware of it.

Pro: contractors were very nice, very clean, and their work is beautiful. Price seemed reasonable - not the highest bid. Windows (less than 1 day complete and no rain so far) are beautiful. Con: I guess I didn't realize that trim would not be painted, so now I have polka-dots all over the outside of my house. I asked ahead of time where the contractors would start because it was a 5 day job and I wanted to know where I would need to move furniture ahead of time. I was told by the admin that they would start at the top story (I have a split level) but when they showed up they wanted to do the living room so I had to scramble to take down curtains and move couches (without husband). Later on they told me they would do the window wall last but then wanted to start it a day ahead so I was again, moving tables and chairs to get them out of the way. I don't mean to sound so negative, really I am pretty pleased with the work. The windows look very nice.

Response from Signature Window & Door Replacement
First of all, we would like to apologize if there was any confusion with the normal order we install products. Our normal procedure is to start with the second story and work down but in this case the living room windows had second story windows and a different installation situation than the rest of the windows so the foreman started there. The crew, however, offered to help with moving things but the member told them she would take care of it. We always help whenever asked and are very surprised to see the report did not reflect our efforts to help the member. As for the missing screens, the member was made aware the screens were just an oversight by the manufacturer. The manufacturer delivered the screens to us late the same day the crew finished the job. The foreman told the member he would return the following day to install them - which he did. Regarding the primed exterior trim, the member was provided detailed paperwork that indicated all the exterior trim was "Primed". The trim was discussed at some length and the member considered the trim option for a couple days before agreeing to move forward with the project. The agreement the customer signed had "new Primed 5/4 x 4 Cedar exterior trim" stated twice on the front page and the detailed line item description of each window that was provided to the member also had a description indicating the same material on every window that had it. We provide one of the most comprehensive forms we know of - in an effort to avoid confusion. Every window for every room is completely defined as to what is included - down to the type of spacer that separates the glass. Every item is described to provide a completely transparent process so the client knows exactly what they are getting. The "polka-dots" are where we caulked all the nail holes to make sure everything was water tight and ready for paint. This is a normal procedure when installing new trim. Once painted, the polka dots of caulking will be completely covered up. We continually strive to make sure every client walks away feeling like we provided them a quality experience. It seems we fell short with this member but we honestly made every effort to insure she would join the rest of our long list of satisfied clients and are very sorry we did not accomplish that. It was not for a lack of trying.

We contacted the company and received an appointment with the owner, Randy, about a week later. Randy came on time to an evening appointment and was a delight to work with. He stayed for about an 1 1/2, was incredibly knowledgeable and made recommendations that would allow us to stay consistent with the integrity of 1931 Tudor style house while keeping down costs. After getting several bids on the windows, Randy's price came in between $4 - $5,000 less than the others. We were impressed with his thoughtfulness and experience and decided to close the deal with him that evening. We had a subsequent meeting with Simon, who took the measurements of all of the windows and assured us that he would also be the one installing them when they arrived. That appointment lasted 1/2 hr. We waited about a month to have the windows installed. We were scheduled for Thursday, April 11 and Friday, April 12, but were told that Simon was sick the morning of the 11th and that he would be coming on the 12th and 13th. When he came on the 12th, he got work quickly and had replaced most of the windows he was scheduled to work on by noon. He took the initiative to look at Saturday's weather report and decided to push through to complete the entire job, as Saturday's forecast was to include thunder storms. Simon, although not feeling his best, was also a delight. He and his partner did a wonderful job on the windows and replaced blinds and curtains as they were. We are very pleased with the service we received from this company and plan to use them again in the near future.

We were very pleased with Randy's visit to give us an estimate for a sliding patio door and two big bedroom windows. He provided several options for the sliding patio door and took the time to explain the different features. We also asked Randy to give us an estimate on two windows and after inspection he suggested I call the manufacturer to ask if they could fix the mechanism, rather than buying the whole window. I appreciated this very much because the manufacturer did come in to fix the windows and luckily it was still under the warranty. After selecting the sliding patio door, Randy put in an expedited order at no extra charge. The installation was done by Yuri and Larry and they did an awesome job. They were very professional and thoroughly cleaned the area. I am very pleased with Signature Window Replacement.

Randy was very nice. He didn't try to sell us hard like other window places. He asked about our needs and explained how they do things, what qualifications they bring to the job and what products they offer. We wanted to replace the original aluminum windows in our 1960's home for improved efficiency, functionality and a better look. There was also a window in the kitchen where we wanted a sliding door to the back deck. It could only be reached by going down to a landing in the stairwell, opening a door with very little room to swing, and then going up again on the outside. We met with 2 other contractors prior. We liked the windows and price offered by Champion, but Procraft was too high on price (even after every possible discount) and too pushy. Randy showed us Simonton windows that we liked better than the others (and really, when you are buying windows, it's important to get good windows). He offered to do more work than the other companies who wanted me to take out old tile stools and aprons myself. He also quoted at a lower price and we agreed on the spot. He helped us choose the right windows for each place in our home and what kind of glass to use. We ended up replacing a couple sliding windows with solid ones where there was no need for them to open. The Signature crew was at our house working within a few weeks and did everything over a 5 day timeframe. They were very professional and cleaned up well after each day. During installation one of the sliding windows got placed where we had requested a solid one (same sized opening). After we pointed out the error, they switched it around right away and didn't miss a beat. Our views are much better now, our house is warmer and I did notice some energy savings on the last bill. Most of all we LOVE our sliding door to the backyard!!! What an incredible difference it has made. Stepping out to the bbq is a much easier trip now and it has given our kitchen a more open feel, connecting the inside and outside. Everything works great and looks great. I would highly recommend Signature for your window project.

I had about 90 percent of the windows done. He was very good about going over with me. I am having the kitchen and the family room remodeled and it might be a bump out. He told me to try and live with 3 windows and a sliding door unless I desperately wanted to spend the money now. He told me it was very easy to do and don’t replace them now because if I want the same windows once the remolding was done. I thought that was very considerate of him. That saved me a few thousand right there but the rest of the house was done. Only 3 windows and a door weren’t done. The entire cost for the whole house with all the extras was $12230. The price was very reasonable. They were very responsive to my questions. They thoroughly represented several companies. They brought out complete samples from 3 different companies which I appreciated because I was trying to make a decision. They also showed all the different price ranges. The office staff on the phone was very pleasant. Randy was the representative who came out and met with me. He handled everything and was thorough in making sure everything was how I wanted it to be. The installer Uri was an absolute wonder. Randy said he was one of the best that he ever found. Uri was able to complete everything along with his assistant in a very timely manner. There was no damage done to the house at all. They ensured everything was perfect. He was a very sweet gentleman and his workmanship was exceptional. They also did the inside trim on my windows for me. They went over and above in so many areas to ensure that I will have minimum work that needed to be done. They actually went out and purchased for me. They went out of their way to make sure that I got even more than what I was hoping for. The trim did not require painting because I was not here. They walked out and I didn’t have to really do anything but just do the back door. That was about it. It was an astounding experience. I ran into them at the Home show and everybody I speak with is always very upbeat. They are willing to answer any questions and help me in any way that they can. I just appreciated the different window types and showed me the ups and downs of every window. They didn’t try to push me into any particular brand. They just pointed out everything that is good and bad on each one. They stood back and asked me if I have any questions. That is what I needed because I needed information to make up my own mind and not be pushed. They allowed that. I am going to be calling them probably next week. I really appreciate the Angie’s List discounts that are provided. They really helped and the companies honor them without any question because of Angie’s List. It has saved a lot of money. They were very, very wonderful. I would not have found them without Angie’s List.
Description of Work: I used Signature Window and Door Replacement to do the windows. They removed the old windows. It was a tight fit where the original constructor had installed and the casing had to be removed. It was inspected and brand new windows frames replaced. They were going to do a door but they recommended I wait on. I am going to call them back about the front door now.
