The countertop portion work went very smoothly and without incident. We purchased a Wilsonart laminate countertop. Kevin and Jake came for the original measurements, as well as the installation several weeks later. They did a great job and the countertop looks great.

With a sample of a door for the Beech wood cabinet loaned to us by Ryan Desimone Jodi was able to suggest the type and color of the counter tops and back splash. My wife settled on Silestone Quartz counter top with undermount sink. THe color of the counter top is "Sienna Ridge", the back splash and tile is "Ivory Traverse and the glass stone border". I do not have the gentleman name who came out in August to make the template. The installers for the counter tops were Ken Presler and Tony English. The installer for the back splash and tile is Alex Filimonchuk. Thank you Jodi Simpson, Jeff Reed, Ken Presler, Tony English and Alex Filimonchuk. You are all professionals and we thank you for a job well done!
Description of Work: Precision was not on the list the service representative at Angie's List sent me. Precision was referred to us by Ryan Desimone by Superior Cabinets. Contact was Jodi Simpson who is the design consultant.

After three phone calls, and no response, I will not consider using their services in the future. Red Flag! I consider it a sign that they are a company of unprofessional practices.
Description of Work: I was looking to have a stone bar-top installed in my kitchen. I made several phone calls to Precision Countertops, each time leaving a detailed message with the voicemail of someone in sales. After the second call, the receptionist assured me that the sales representative would call me back within a day. She even personally took down my information to pass along to the sales rep. I never heard back. Don't they want my money?

Do get quotes from other companies. Don't assume that because you are getting 20% off you are getting a great deal. The process we used to get a better deal elsewhere was as follows... We went to the Pental showroom in Seattle ( see http://www.pentalonline.com ) . Pental allows unlimited access to their warehouse (without a sales chaperone), and all their slabs are clearly marked as to their price level (A thru D, cheapest to most expensive). You cannot get a price from Pental, you can only get it from a fabricator/installer, but can see the relative price levels. Once we found a slab we liked at the level we wanted, we put a hold on it. Both customers and fabricators can hold slabs. We then asked Pental for a list of their fabricators (which was a long list!) and we chose a few near where we lived. Angie's list helped for this. We then requested quotes from those and chose the best. Compare this to the Precision Countertops experience where we were accompanied into the warehouse with a sales person, and none of the slabs were marked with a price level. We found ourselves rushed thru the available options, and the first slab we expressed an interest in we were told was a level D (almost the most expensive level). I knew this exact granite was stocked by Pental as a level A+, and when I mentioned this fact, together with the fact that we had a quote for it fully installed that was 60% of Precision's regular price, we quickly found ourselves on our way home with a refund of our deposit. Overall there's nothing terribly bad about Precision Countertops. They just seem to be more expensive than other companies, so it should be common sense to seek a selection of quotes.
Description of Work: We prepaid for a countertop with Precision Countertops in Ikea during a 20% off sale. Ultimately we canceled the order because even with the 20% off, they were expensive. They have a nice selection of stone, but prices are high, and their fabrication and installation charges can add up to being double some other companies. From the quotes I received, they were by far the most expensive.

We had our whole house completely remodeled and out of all the contractors this was the only one we had a problem would. They are the WORST of the worst for service and quailty. My complain is the master bath countertop. They did not do the template right when they were here the first time to do the measuring. So when they install the granite, the back of it was too long which cause the front to be too far forward. So the undermount sinks was off center because it hitting the inside front of the counter. What they did to fix the problem was cut a straight line across the back of the wall and knock some drywall off and shove the granite into the wall. This is not the way to install granite, now we have a problem with water getting behind the drywall and cause mold later. We did not know they did this until it was done and saw it.. They thought we would not know and the granite backsplash would hide it. We complain to Homedepot because this is where we went through to buy it. Because Homedepot back us up, Precision agreed to fix it. Homedepot is a great company to do business with unfortunately they contract with a business that has very poor service and quaility.
Description of Work: We had them install granite countertops for the kitchen and for 2 bathrooms..

WARNING: THIS COMPANY DEMANDS FULL PAYMENT *BEFORE* THE JOB IS COMPLETE. (most contractors ask for 25%-50% upfront and the remainder upon completion) *Therefore, if you have any issues with their install, you have no recourse- they already have your money.* They told they did it that way "because too many of our customers haven't paid us, so we have to protect ourselves" Thus, as a potential customer, they were already assuming I was dishonest and that they couldn't trust me. Perhaps they should ask themselved WHY their customers aren't paying- perhaps beause theri attitude and workmanship is shoddy? Anyway, to be assumed a "criminal" before we even started was a deal breaker. Lastly, (but perhaps I should say "firstly"), the rep who came to my housefor the consult , when I showed him the exact SileStone sample that I wanted for my kitchen countertop, (a sample I'd ordered myself on-line and TOLD the phone receptionist at Precison that I had): he sneered sarcastically "Oh! So we *aleady* know what we want, do we?" as if a customer is too stupid to make a decison on their own I promptly kicked him out of my house and found another company that not only was *delighted* that I had made up my mind and knew excatly what I wanted, ("we wish more of our customers were as organized as you are!") but installed the same countertop/custom backsplash for less money that Precision wanted.
Description of Work: WARNING: THIS COMPANY DEMANDS FULL PAYMENT *BEFORE* THE JOB IS COMPLETE. While the salesman was in my home, I asked him to check to make sure the color I had selected from his samples was actually avaialbe as I hadn't seen it on the Corian website. He called "his boss" who assured him that the company could get the color. Although the price seemed high, I ordered it. It took several phone calls with Precision to schedule the template meeting. The scheduler seemed confused to me. The day before the scheduled template meeting, Precision called me to tell me the template people would be there at a time that was different than the one we had set up. The scheduler had forgotten what we had discussed previously. I wasn't going to be available at the time they had set, so we agreed to have an early appointment (7am)the next day. At 8am, when they had still not shown up, I called and was told they would be there any minute. They arrived glassy eyed at 9:30am, smelling of cigarettes and beer. They told me they were subcontractors and did not work for Precision. They took template measurements and left. I opened windows to air out the rooms they had been in. About a week later, the Precision salesman called to tell me they could not get the color I ordered as it was discontinued. I believe it had been discontinued for a long time (which is why it was not shown on the manufacturers web site) but they wanted my business so they said that it was available. The salesman offered to come out so I might pick a different color or material. I told him that I was uncomfortable with the scheduling snafus and with the folks they sent to my home and since the color I wanted was unavailable, I was canceling the order. He told me he would take care of canceling the order that day and to expect a call from someone at Home Depot withion the next two days. After a week, I called him and Home Depot. He did not return my call. Home Depot did. Theyt told me they had not received a cancellation and they would follow up with Precision and get back to me. Eventually, Home Depot refunded the money, but apparently, Precision charged them for the template visit, even though Precision misled me about the availability of the product!
Description of Work: The sales man came to my home after I requested service at Home Depot. He submitted a bid for a 44" by 19" Corian counter top with molded backsplash and bullnose edge. The bid was $900.00 plus tax.

I made contact with Precision Countetops in IKEA. They had a special and I signed the contract. I ordered the color and options. The initial contact went well. In mid December, I confirmed the installation date with Jeff McGovern, and on 22 December reconfirmed the color and options. On 23 December, Jeff emailed that my color had been discontinued, that the factory would be closed for a week starting the next day, and I needed to make a choice. I was in Georgia at the time and didn't have access to real samples. On 7 January, the installer, Aaron arrived. He installed the counter top and started to install my sink. He then discovered that the hole didn't match my sink. He had to remove the countertop and return another day. On 12 January, Aaron returned to install the sink and completed that. The sink and the counter top look very good. Later, Jeff told me that Precision had changed some procedures due to what happened with my counter top. They would have received an A and a PoH if the problems had not occurred.

Having checked Angie's List AFTER signing up with Precision Countertops, we saw several poor reviews and considered canceling. However, for various reasons we went forward. Thank goodness! The entire process from the visit to the showroom, Kevin's visit to our house to take measurements, then the template drawing at our house to the final installation could not have gone more smoothly. It was for a large kitchen and guest bathroom requiring lots of special details. Alexsey and his partner were skilled craftsmen and lived up to the company title with their PRECISION work. They arrived on time and always called ahead to confirm. They were courteous, professional and cleaned up after each day's work. Our entire experience with Precision Countertops could not have been more ideal with the result exceeding even our highest expectations.
Description of Work: We had an appt. to visit the showroom to view and select the granite. We were met by our assigned rep., Kevin, who was excellent in guiding us through the selection and details of the granite work. He was always accessible by phone to answer questions after our appt. even on a weekend.

Ordered the countertop through the Precision Rep at Ikea in Renton (Mark). Mark was not the most available and was not as good at calling back etc. Persistance with him was necessary. But once ordered, the scheduler (Christine) at Precision were very easy to work with. We scheduled further out after our purchase, as the kitchen would not be ready for a while. Christine said she was assigning us her favorite installer (Aleks). They first came out to template and were on time and efficient. Then install day, Aleks and Sergei came early and did a great job. A couple of the sides/corners there was a slightly bigger gap than I would be OK with if we were not tiling the backsplash, but since they knew several sides would be tiled, some corners were not finished as well. But the finished job is great and we are happy with it and would reccomend Precision.

OA, fairly good. They were easy to get a hold of, and despite a bit of grumbling and definitely not a "yes / can do" attitude, they did accommodate my needs (measured without the stove on site, per my request, and changed the corners at the last minute, again at my request and past their "change order" deadline--both of these were more custom requests than I paid for, so that was good). I was unhappy with the Caeserstone counters vs. Silestone, but that isn't the fault of the installer/fabricator. The price was VERY cheap through IKEA, everyone showed up on time, and the onsite team was polite (though the lead installer couldn't understand all my questions due to a language barrier--but the apprentice / helper interpreted and it was fine). I was unhappy with the finish on a few corners--they're a bit rough. My Silestone (old counter) wasn't--not sure if that's the fabrication or the product itself.
Description of Work: Installed Caeserstone countertops in a fairly straightforward installation.

They replaced the counter tops in my kitchen and bathroom. They did my tub decks and shower walls. I wanted to custom design some features in my shower and the guy who worked with me was creative and flexible. We came up with some thing they have never done before and he was happy to work with me on that and come up with what I wanted.

We were very satisfied with the work they did. It was expensive, but then granite is not known to be cheap. We had plenty of options for the counter top and they were accommodating to all of our decision making. Also, after the job was done they were very good about clean up. I would recommend them to anyone.

I would not recommend this company. There is no accountability for the work performed and the customer service is horrible.
Description of Work: A friend had recommended Precision Countertops to us for out bathroom remodel. We got a bid and then referred our contractor to them to coordinate the work. They came out as scheduled and took measurements and confirmed the type of edge we wanted for the countertops. After they had completed the installation, we noticed that the countertop edge was not what we had ordered. We ordered a 90 degree square edge and received a rounded edge. In addition, they installed the undermount sink improperly. It is not set straight. Lastly, they scratched the surrounding area while installing the vanity countertop which needed to be fixed and repainted. We had our contractor contact the company. She was given the run around (i.e., noone could adress the issue, transferred to a few different people and noone could help and then finally the person that could address the problem was incredibly rude and condescending and said that the paperwork had been signed and we received what we ordered). They refused to correct the problem in any way. With regard to the countertop edge, we spoke to the company ourselves and clarified that on their paperwork, they show pictures of the different types of edges, but the written cut dimensions do not match the pictures. We chose based on the picture and the employees guidance (square edges), but actually received the written cut dimensions (rounded edges). Still no acceptance of their error. We finally gave up. Once the bill was paid, our contractor tried to receive a copy of the receipt and was again given the run around. It took a few months before they finally gave us a copy of the receipt.

When they came to template our job we were complimented on how level our cabinets were. When the VERY SAME guy came back to install the counters he decided how uneven the cabinets were. If he had told us at the time of the template that they were not even (from one end of the kitchen to the other) we could have reset the cabinets. Instead he installed the granite so that there was a huge gap between the granite and the cabinets. You could see completely through between the counter and cabinets. The first time they came out to install they did not show on time or call ahead as requested and promised. They were removing the granite when I arrived because there were two errors - a hole for the insta hot was cut wrong, and one of the seams was cut wrong. The installers wouldn't even talk to my contractors regarding correcting the cabinets, they just said, it's not level, and left while my contractor was attempting to fix it. They charged me for full height backsplashes, which I did not have installed, and have yet to refund my money. I would not do business with them again.

The entire process was a NIGHTMARE. After a company got my money I was totally stuck with this installer. Complaints were handled through a phone center in Atlanta. Nighmare.
Description of Work: two countertops. They refused to address a sharp corner in the templating process. They wanted to charge additional for pre-approved cutting. First installer said I needed a new cabinet or a new sink-when all he needed to do was remove one simple piece of 1" x 1" x 6 inches long to accommodate the sink. This delayed the project several days. No other alteration was necessary. Counter arrived -still they hadn't rounded the corner. They offered to REFUND one counter, and leave me with the GOOD ONE. The closest dealer handling the material I chose was in Spokane!
