+ 0 moreCentral Construction Fence and Deck did a great job. When they came out to the house to review the desired work, they were very friendly, prompt, and professional. We worked with Lynne on the details. She was very knowledgeable, had a book with sample pictures of all our options. She gave suggestions for what she thought would be the best options for us. She had a detailed thorough bid to us within a couple days and were able to start the work within a week. The crew that did the work did a truly great job and they had to work in some pretty tough conditions as they did the work during the coldest week we'd had all year. We had subzero temps for a couple days, rain and snow. They showed up every day and worked hard despite the crazy conditions. We get so many compliments from our neighbors and friends on our new fencing. The yard looks great. I really enjoyed working with Lynne and her crew and we absolutely will use them again for any future fencing/decking needs.

Her responsiveness for follow up questions wasn't great, but part of that was probably because we were doing this project right at the time of the holidays. The crew was wonderful. They worked their butts off for 4 days straight and finished the project without any delays. They were very careful that the fence was structurally sound and checked and re-checked it constantly. The were very excited about the project (we were adding a new picket fence) and seem to enjoy their work. They worked together well as a team. The fence is beautiful.
Description of Work: Rip out old fence and disposed of waste. Installed new fence in both back yard and front yard, approximately 1/2 acre lot size.

+ -1 moreMy wife was out of town at the start but when she returned she was especially impressed with Kyle's attention to neatness. Every night he and his crew would clean the work area by picking up and sweeping being careful no nails or building material were left in a pathway.
Description of Work: They replaced our deck and stairs. Kyle the owner with his labor came in, knocked down our old rotting wooden deck, removed the debris and the next day proceeded to build the new one. We didn't go with wood this time because we wanted less maintenance and Kyle was quite knowledgeable about the composition materials on the market today. We had lots of questions and his office manager was excellent! She came to our home and we live well over an hour away from their shop and offered to come more than once to show samples and give details of the project.

+ -1 moreEverything went great. Their estimator (Lynne) came out and helped us select the style and placement of the fence and two gates. She gave us a competitive estimate on the spot. We agreed, and she gave us an install date also on the spot. (We chose the and quot;Presidentialand quot; fence style -- which for our project cost less than $200 more and looks much better than the stock design.) They took care of contacting the city to verify there were no gas, water, or electrical utilities which could have gotten in the way. Prior to construction, we requested some changes (lengthen a section of the fence, and change the location of the gates) which they incorporated without any problems. The workers arrived on schedule and within 3 days had built the new fence and gates. They were very friendly and professional (and spoke English!). We requested a small change to one of the gates which they made without charge. They completed the job on time, kept the work area clean, and even asked us where we wanted the dirt from the post holes to be placed in the garden. The finished fence looks great. The gates are very solid and have heavy duty hinges. We are very happy with the finished result.

+ -1 moreMy experience with this company was excellent. They responded right away to my request for a bid. The company representative was personable and very pleasant, and knows her subject. She fully explained the process and materials that would be used. I was very impressed with the quality of materials and the fact that the wood was locally sourced. I never met the men who actually did the work as they came while I was not home. They came on time, did the work efficiently and left no mess behind. To sum up I am delighted with the job which was done as promised and the materials used were top quality. I will be using them for my next fencing project and would recommend them to anyone. They weren't the least expensive, but not far off from other bids I got, and I really believe I got the best product.

+ 0 moreThe project went very well. The provider started work exactly when the told us they would. They stayed on-budget and completed all work in a professional manner and met or exceeded our expectations in every way. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone without hesitation.
Description of Work: Complete resurfaced a 1200 square foot cedar deck with composite decking. The work included adding joists to provide support on 12" centers, adding some posts for additional support, and lowering about 50% of the former two-level deck to a single level for maximum usability. The provider also replaced the handrail for the entire deck, built or resurfaced steps where necessary, and replaced deck skirting with new cedar fascia and lattice.

+ 0 moreWe hired Central Deck and Fence to build a fence for us in the fall of 2012. They did come out and complete the fence, and we have no complaints about that service. The Fence is great and they were good to work with for that project. In the spring of 2013 we contacted them again to built a deck for us. They did come out and review the backyard, and said they would be emailing us with a quote. We sent them at least a dozen emails and called as well, and could not get a response from them at all. We eventually gave our business to someone else. I am not sure if they just didn't want our business or what .... perhaps they should consider changing their name to just and quot;Central Fenceand quot; since they don't seem to be interested in building decks at all.
Description of Work: We had contracted this company to built a fence for us, which they did and it turned out fine. We then attempted to have them built a deck for us and they never responded to our emails.

+ -1 moreI agreed to the fence replacement and have tried to get a date to walk over the plans and review with her the estimate. They agreed to a day, with no time. Since I was home having other work accomplished I did not push for a time. No Show, No call, No email until I emailed her did I get another promised day. This has happened so many times I finally sent an email and stated I expected to be notified if she were unable to keep the apt. I am forgiving and patient. but feel schmuck was written on my forehead, i received an apology email offering me a discount for my trouble, and was given another date for her to come to my home. I honestly just want a fence, not a discount. Of course, there was another no show. I have had it. After being in retail business over 20 years, if I ever acted as this company has acted I would have been fired. The reason I joined Angie's List was to verify this company was actually on your recommended list with four to five stars as endorsements.
Description of Work: Made an apt. for an estimate . Emailed est. after several request. Needed a date to go over again the concerns for the removal and replacement of the fence.

+ -1 moreFrom the first phone call they were abl to get out promptly and get an estimate backe to me. We had a few estimates and one was actually less, however their eagerness to do the job led me to negotiate a price we both were happy with and they actually did more that I had originally planned. They were on the site when they said and werfe finished in about 3 days. The work was very professional and the jobsite was left actually neater than when they began. Central Construction is now my go to contractor and I will recommed them to all my friends and family.
Description of Work: Installed 169' 6' high cedar plank fence and 2 gates plus removed all the old fence material.

+ -1 moreThey come out immediately when you call. He also did some other odd jobs around my house. I had another company that put lights in and then they went out and I couldn't figure it out. The company would not come back out, so he fixed it for me. He did everything I needed and also made good suggestions about the gate. He really helped me a lot and I appreciated it.

Even when confronted with a few problems with having to work around all of my trees and other obstacles they we very flexable and always came up with good solutions that worked well for me. I really appreciated their efforts and professional approach to their work. And the new fence is beautiful! I've received several complements about how great my new fence looks and I've had no problem with recommending Central Construction and passing on their phone number.
Description of Work: take out 300 plus feet of old fence and replace with a new (and beautifull!) cedar 6 foot fence. Apply a facia trim to my deck.

+ -1 moreThe response for a quote was prompt, they were flexible on scheduling, and thorough on the work. The deck went from scary and wobbly to absolutely solid and beautiful. We had an issue with the stain running off the railing on the stairs due to rain - it wasn't quite dry before they did the work - and they immediately took care of the issue to our total satisfaction. I would absolutely recommend this company if you want a solidly built deck that will last 20+ years.
Description of Work: Overall, made existing deck more steady and repaired flashing where deck met house: Stabilize Existing Deck Install pressure treated angle bracing Complete a water test on the existing deck to determine where it is leaking and complete flashing repairs as needed. I had several questions and issues with the work I wanted completed and Lynne and the construction crew helped answer my questions with creative and helpful suggestions. They presented options and solutions without pushing me to make quick decisions. After the work was completed I discovered something I didn't like about part of the design and they came out the next week to make a change without question or additional cost. My experience with Central Construction was the most positive and easy experience I have ever had with a contracted job. I would and have recommended them to friends and family.

+ -1 moreGreat people to work with. Was prompt with the est. and answered way beyond all my questions. Did some educating of me regarding the different qualities of chain link fencing. They were here when they said they would be. Prior to starting the job they made sure that the crew was on the same page as us AND the est. Made sure that what they were going to do was exactly what we wanted done. They cleaned up after themselves and before they left made sure it was done to our requirements. The job was done a head of est. schedule. They also provided us samples of the inserts so we could make sure that the chain link inserts worked for what we wanted. We orginally thought the dark green would work but changed our minds when we tried the brown. It actually looks like a wood fence at a distance. The reason we went with this company over the other 3 we got bids from was their willingness to provide a few extras and all the time they spent with us making sure we "knew" what we were buying - quality of the finished product and quality of the actual fence material. We opted. for a commercial grade chain link with head and bottom rails which will withstand our high winds. Would not have thought to do this without their time to educate us. Thank you Lynn and Brian!!!
Description of Work: They were on time for the estimate appt. Bid was rec'd within the next 24 hrs via email. When we called back to confirm details they were "exactly" was we talked about and were detailed on the bid. The arrived on time on the day it was scheduled. Made sure what they were going to do was exactly what was on the bid and what we wanted done. Made sure the fence was going to be where we wanted behind our property line by 6 inches. That the height was correct too. Came to let us know that they were done for the day and would be back in two days to finish the chain link fence (concrete needed to cure). Arrived the day agreed to on time and ready to work. Again went over our bid, what we wanted and confirmed what was going to happen. Finished early and made sure everything was picked up, cleaned up and everything was done to our satisfaction. They also removed an old post and wire fence: pilling the wood posts where we wanted and rolling the old fence up moved out of the way. They cleaned around the cement post holes to make sure the dirt was level or below level of the concrete so the grass could be moved and edged without issues in the future. The crew was polite, educated in fencing process/installation, and worked efficiently. Lynn at the office called to make sure every thing was going the way we wanted and confirmed the process.

The entire situation I was ion was extremely stressful and they brought me a sense of peace I hadn't felt in some time. They were so kind and spent a lot of time with me.
