"James and his crew at Cox Custom Remodeling did a great job with our bathroom remodel. Our house was built in 1900 and the nonstandard framing made things more complicated. His lead, Dan was particularly great, taking the extra time to understand components we picked that were new to him. James always had a positive attitude, showed up when he indicated and got things done. Low dust, protection for floors and respect for the rest of the house while the construction was going on. James also provided the best tile guy, Eugene, that did a fantastic job with natural stone and the complicated very fragile mosaic. We would definitely use Cox Custom Remodeling again. Great job guys!"

"The steps he put in were not the same size as the original ones, they were all different sizes. The top step was half the width of a regular step. The sides of the stairs were not the same, and there was a lip from the bottom step to the sidewalk where it was supposed to be level. When I contacted him about that, he said he would come back and fix it the next day. Now two steps are okay, but the bottom one has even more of a lip to the sidewalk, which is a tripping hazard. He said he would come back to take the side rail off and fix it, but I have not heard from him since then. He has ignored all my calls and texts."

I am an Owner Operator with 39 continuous years in the construction field and 19 years in business as Vic Steiner Carpentry. Over these years as an employee of other construction companies and being self employed, I have mastered all of the trades that are involved in residential remodeling and perform all of the work myself. I will present a firm bid in a contract, including sales tax and payment schedule. Attached to the contract is a very detailed Work Specifications list that specifies every detail of the work I am bidding on. I am listed with Washington State as a certified Lead Paint Renovator and certified in Wedi tile substrate installation. We have been in business since 2001, all of our work has been through personal referral and is 100% residential. I often refer to us as old house carpenters. I've worked on homes from the 1900's to homes built in 2017. Being familiar with the different types of construction techniques lessens the surprise factor and makes modernization or repairs easier.
