The steps he put in were not the same size as the original ones, they were all different sizes. The top step was half the width of a regular step. The sides of the stairs were not the same, and there was a lip from the bottom step to the sidewalk where it was supposed to be level. When I contacted him about that, he said he would come back and fix it the next day. Now two steps are okay, but the bottom one has even more of a lip to the sidewalk, which is a tripping hazard. He said he would come back to take the side rail off and fix it, but I have not heard from him since then. He has ignored all my calls and texts.
Description of Work: The provider replaced three porch steps. He was here for about 5-6 hrs. He did not include the hallway drywall in the original bid.

Response from Anderson Contractors
The project the client is referring to is complete as of March 14th,2025. There was a contract in place signed by both parties. The steps were built exactly the way it was before I got there. The client seems to disagree, but I even showed her the "before" photos and she's still disagreeing for whatever reason. I don't know how to address that if I literally had shown her photos proving it. I started to question if she even remembers what they had looked like at that point. Unfortunate client trying to scam both Angi and my business to get free work after she signed a contract stating what would be done. What's the point of the contract she signed if she wasn't going to follow it? There was drywall repair on the original bid, but I told her I wasn't doing that anymore, so it reflected in the new bid which we both have a copy of attached to our contract, which we both agreed to and signed. The drywall repair was going to be done for free as it's a small amount. She was told of this. Again, both parties signed and agreed to just the stairs being done. The contract she signed has a copy of the bid that's just for the stairs, costing $2207.00. No extra work. She was told of this. I have not reached out to the client as she has reached out multiple times from various phone numbers. Last time we spoke in person, since I had gone back to do rework adjustments on the project for free on the morning of March 14th, she was furious and had gone off on me in a very vulgar and demeaning way cause the steps weren't built how she had imagined, though they were built the exact same way as before. As a business owner, I shouldn't have to give into such poor behavior. I assured the client that the steps were built the exact same way, so again, I'm unsure how to go about with this since she isn't understanding that the job was done to match what was there prior. I can't be doing work for free as that doesn't benefit my small business in any way. Unfortunately the client isn't a good fit for my business and I can't recommend them to anyone, so I won't be back to do anymore work at her home

I contacted Anderson Contractors for some help fixing bi fold doors and the trim work in two of my bedrooms. They explained the process and made it quick and easy. They were in and out within two hours. I highly recommend Cole and his team for any home improvement needs
