I could not be more pleased with the work Mark did for us. I have done battle with our roof rats for 8 years, but this year could not get rid of them. They found an extremely clever entry point this Spring that only an expert could identify. Mark screened off the entry point, set traps in our attic, and came back a few times to clean out and reset traps. After a week now with no noises in the walls, I think we finally have the problem under control. I'm now wondering if I my efforts in prior years were ever effective. (Skip this paragraph if you are squeamish.) When you are deciding whether to hire expert help or take on the rats yourself, you should consider the following: 1. Rats are extremely smart and will absolutely avoid traps/poison unless their entry/exit point is blocked off. 2. Poison is an extremely bad method to use. If the rats cannot get out, they will die in your walls, your house will be overrun by flies, and then the unbearable stench will begin. 3. Rat traps are very dangerous devices. They are much larger than a mouse trap, and can break a finger. 4. Even if you do manage to set the traps without breaking a finger, and do manage to outsmart the rats, do you want to deal with stinking, oozing, dead rat carcasses? United Pest is a professional outfit, and well worth the fees that they charge.

The rodents came back. I asked them to come back in March 2010 and they said to do the inspection and block the access points they charged me well over $300.00. I also asked them to remove some insulation and clean up rodent waste in my basement ceiling and the price they quoted was about $400.00 higher than the other estimate I received from a similarly rated Angie's List company.

Adam from United Pest Solutions was very friendly and helpful on the phone. He set up a specific appointment time (not a window of time where you don't know when someone will show up) and told me who would be doing the work. The following morning, Ben from United Pest Solutions arrived a little early and waited until the appointment time to knock on the door. Ben confirmed that the ants were carpenter ants and that they lived in a tree at the corner of our property. He said they hadn't moved into my house yet - they were just searching for a good site for a satellite nest. He treated the outside of the house with an insecticide and the inside of the room where I'd been seeing the ants with a repellent. He set my expectations that I might see ants over the next three weeks (I haven't seen any since). He told me how much time to wait before vacuuming the rugs and before shampooing the rugs. It was an efficient and effective appointment.

I didn't use their services. I interviewed every single pest control company in my area. I wasn't happy with them because I never got a straight answer from them. Everybody said what everybody else is doing won't work. The only person that can do it is them. Everybody else said that they can't do it and the only person that can do it is them. I just got really fed up and really frustrated and basically came to the conclusion that nobody knows what they are doing and took a combination of what everybody was going to do and just did it myself. United never came out. I never had them come out because they charged for an inspection. I contacted them and got the quote over the phone. The price they quoted was for an initial one-time service. Other people were better than them in the responsiveness. I would not use them in the future because I can cheaply do it on my own without having to deal with the pest control people.

It's funny somehow I expected pest control people to be gruff or at least chemical happy. United is not like that at all. I have met or talked to at least 1/2 dozen on their team and every single person is responsive, prompt and informative. It started with a (nocturnal) biting bug problem of mysterious origin. I had contacted 4 pest companies but since none could find a bed bug or any evidence, they all shrugged their shoulders and left. In the meantime, my family was a meal for an invisible pest. I had a doctor tell me it was indeed bites and that the pattern was likely biting mites and United worked with me through multiple sprayings to address the issue. I was not likely the easiest to work with in the hysteria of being bit but they were always calm, considerate and prompt. In the process of treating mites, they took over control of my rat problem (I recommend their rodent contract!) and discovered a mild carpenter ant infestation. They are on top of it all, always on time and while I really hate pests, it is a fact of urban dwelling and I could not imagine a better team of people with which to work. I worked most commonly with Ben, Adam and Scott who were all fantastic. They go beyond their work and recommend other things you can do to avoid pests (e.g. where to put your luggage in a hotel to avoid bed bugs, how to trim hedges to avoid rats, etc.) Great company.

They were very good, and the work they did was very effective. They were very friendly, punctual, and easy to deal with. I chose them because of the ratings they had on Angie?s list. They gave me a bunch of traps that I can set up inside the house. That helped me a lot as my granddaughter is terrified about spiders.

Our daughter, living in our home in Seattle, reported house was infested with rat mites, and complained of being bitten Because we had been planning a major remodel within 1 month, did not want rat removal at this time. Company came out, did thorough analysis, and came up with a solution that would fix the problem of mites (insecticide) yet save us money by not removing rodents yet. They gave lots of excellent advice on how to prevent in the future, what to watch for during remodel to prevent. Our daughter is now mite free, and it's guaranteed for 90 days (until we do the permanent fixes that will keep rodents/birds out of the house)

My wife and I recently (Dec '09) moved into a new/old home (built in 1946, shake roof). During the home inspection, an old wasp or hornet next was found in the attic. It was quite large, approx. 3 feet in diameter! It looked to be inactive and there was no evidence of current activity. Since we have been in the home, my wife has found 3 sluggish hornets in the house and since one of our 2 cats is very allergic to insect stings, we needed to do something quick. After looking on Angie's List, I found United Pest Solutions. The reviews were excellent and they offered environmentally safe solutions. This was on Saturday, 1/30. Because they were closed, I left a voice message for them to call my wife on Monday, 2/1 and schedule an appointment. They called Monday morning while I was at work, talked with my wife and set-up an appointment for 10:00m am. The following is what my wife has told me as she was home for the appointment while I was at work. Sean arrived on time, gave her an estimate which included both a price for removal of the existing nest and inspection and a second price for any additional work for needed to eliminate any current problems. The price was very reasonable and my wife had Sean remove the old nest. Sean indicated it was an old yellow jacket nest but that is was no longer active. He couldn't find any direct hornet/insect activity and explained that very likely the hornets we had found had been wintering over in the house and with the warmer weather had become active. Otherwise he found no other pest activity evidence which coincided with the original home inspection that had been done prior to us buying the house. He did indicate that with the shake roof, it can sometimes be difficult to keep out flying insects. Sean only charged us for the yellow jacket nest removal and gave us an Angie's List discount. He cleaned up after himself and left no mess. United Pest Solutions also does attic/crawl space clean out and insulation installation. We are planning to have some electrical work done that will involve being in the attic. After that is done, we will have United give us an estimate for clean out and possible insulation installation. I will definitely us United Pest solutions again in the future and recommend them to friends and family.

We found a wasp nest under the eaves of our house. We tried to spray it ourselves with no luck so called United Pest. They came out promptly, treated the area and solved the problem. The price seemed quite reasonable and they had an Angie's list discount of $25. We were very happy with their work and would use them again.

Overall, the experience was okay. I thought that the tech that came out most of the time was very friendly and overall professional but he didn't seem in my opinion as knowledgeable as I would have liked him to be. I did research on their product as such and he seemed almost know less about it than I did. It's hard to say about their price because I really don't like their prices necessarily but they compare to everybody else so they are not that bad. They had to come out several times after the treatment to actually take care of the problems. We even did some ourselves and it seemed to do better when we did it ourselves. They are pretty responsive, on-time and personable. I would probably not use them because it seems to do better what we are doing.

The experience was positive and the problem went away. They had a good price and stuck to their original quote. They were prompt, courteous, professional and knowledgeable. They were quite good.

UNITED PEST SOLUTIONS INC. did come to my Seattle home (I have rental tenents in it) to investigate a rat problem. The technician took a look at the soiled insulation behind the fireplace mantel that my tenents had removed (because of the smell) and commented that it looked like an old rats nest and nothing current. He walked around the permiter and did stuff some mesh into an opening around the chimney outside and considered the service call finished. I cleaned-out the soiled insulation and set traps which did indeed catch a rat in the area behind the fireplace mantel. My tenant took it upon himself to cut back the trees around the roof and eventually it seemed the problem was solved.

They really did a good job, and the work went well. We didn?t have a problem. The price was okay. I was really satisfied with them and would use them in the future, if necessary.

Ulises did a superb job for us and was cheerful throughout though he was working under dirty conditions. He previewed the job thoroughly and checked out the space and conditions in his overalls even though he was still here on a preliminary estimate, that in itself seemed above the call to duty! We agreed to have the insulation removed from the entire basement/crawlspace as it was being used for nesting material and was installed wrong anyway. He draped the basement in plastic to minimize dirt and to keep the rest of our stuff clean, then cleaned it out in record time and neatly too. They checked and treated for pests, smells and blocked passageways so we've have no more inside. They set traps outside and checked back regularly. We also had them install the Encapsulation system to isolate the remaining crawlspace dirt and it's very neat while leading to a warmer drier basement. We're impressed.

They said that one of my trees was the access point for the rodents. So I had to have the tree removed and they came back and assessed it and left a trail box. They were thorough, prompt, courteous, and did what they were supposed to do. I did not have any problems with them.

They were helpful. They told me what stuff I could probably do myself. They were friendly and on time. They took time to answer my questions. Their price seemed to be competitive.

It has worked out well. I haven't actually seen anything but one dead rat since they began. They had a senior discount. Everything seems satisfactory. They come when they say they are going to come and they do the job. They let me know ahead of time when they are coming.

We have used their services for many issues, ie bees/wasp infestation and rodent (and birds) removal. We have been more then satisfied with their services. Everyone has been professional and we highly recommend the company.

There were rats in the cross base; they had set up camp there. They had torn apart and urinated all over the insulation. It was saturated with rat urine. The stench was terrible. There were other things that were stored there by the old owners. All the things were ruined. The guys from United Pest Control got rid of the rats. Later, they did a cross base clean out. It cost us $200. They cleaned that out and did a really nice job. They put them all away in a truck. They cleaned the cross base and disinfected it. They didn?t do the re-insulation. They poured concrete to seal the spots through which the rats were getting in. We think they guarantee their work for 90 days. We?ll definitely use them in the future.

We had some rats that had gotten into our house. The people from United Pest Solutions were able determine where the rats were coming from and how they got in. They sealed the place. Later, they came back and set traps. They came back again and checked them. They came out about 2-3 times. They were great. The guy who came out was Ulysses. He was superb. He was really professional. He was on time, every time. He just did a great job. The cost of one time rodent control was $305. They also gave me a discount of $25. Their work was worth every penny I had paid. I?ll definitely use them again.
