It was a good experience to get some expert knowledge. The only issue was they never followed up to do an appointment to actually spray, but with what we learned about carpenter ants we were able to control the problem we had with over the counter products.

We have had silverfish for several years now. After treatment by this company, their occurance is much less frequent, we are seeing perhaps one a week, instead of 5 per day. The workman was polite, friendly, carefull about our soft hardwood floors and of our furniture. Actually a good experince. We signed up for a year of periodic service and will also use them for bird removal and deterence.

The technician was ontime and very professional. He was very knowledgeable about my problem and was able to address my concerns regarding the impact of the chemicals used on my pets.

Very well. Showed up on time, was very thorough, professional, and spent about two hours explaining what can be done to control pests. Set bait stations and sprayed for spiders and ants.

We have battled with rats in our crawlspace off and on for going on 10 years. I hired and paid 3 other companies to fix the problem and they all failed. The first time I called United Pest Solutions, someone actually answered the phone and was helpful. I was told that I should expect a call from a field tech later that day and I did. Ulises called me a couple hours after my initial contact and we setup a time for him to come have a look. He arrived on time, looked around outside and went into the crawlspace looked around there too. He described the problem and explained what he saw and provided a quote on the spot. He suggested that the insulation and vapor barrier needed to be replaced too. Since the insulation in most of the house was from 1956, that made sense to me. We scheduled the work for the following Monday. Ulises told me he would arrive with a crew at 7:30 AM, which they did. Ulises did some of the more technical work and left his 2 man crew to finish up the removal and replacement. They removed a rat nest along with 4 rats and others left before the holes were closed. They worked straight through until about 6:00 PM that night. The cleanup was complete and nothing left behind or put in our trash. Ulises called me for a follow-up that night and made sure everything looked good. He came back Tuesday morning to do a physical inspection and to make sure everything was completed and I was a satisfied customer. Our dog now sleeps through the night again and the smell that would come and go is gone. United Pest Solutions is a top shelf company and I would recommend them to anyone in need of their services. I had a swarm of ants come out of the space between the brick and front door. Ryan came out and discovered that all the ants were gone but he gave it a quick spray anyway. He showed me that the caulking around the door had pulled away allowing the ants to get in. He suggested I re-caulk (which I did) and there are no more ants. I would not hesitate to call them again and I have given their name to a friend who is a contractor to put on his recommended service providers list for his clients.

It went very well. Our daughter was living in a house we bought as investment and future rental, that was in terrible condition. She had started complaining of itching/rash, and we thought after doing research that it was probably due to mite infestation. Technician came over to do evaluation, went all over house--into attic, and explored exterior and interior of house-- to determine extent of problem. Recommended spraying for mites, as there were so many potential points of entry (house was in terrible condition, after having had absolutely no maintenance for 50+ years) that it wouldn't have been cost effective to patch. Sprayed the entire house and attic, and my daughter's rash and itching from mite bites went away immediately. Came back to do post inspection to make sure problem had been addressed, at least temporarily (real fix will be to plug all points of entry, in process right now).

Tech arrived early; was very professional. Walked the house with me, discussed my needs; told me the plan for treatment; then began to work. Very thourough spraying, reviewed the work performed after; reviewed the chemicals; and discussed service plans. Was very impressed with this company and service. Their pricing was very competitive and feel I received better service than I have before from competitors for less cost. This is the best company to use.

We discovered three yellow jacket nests in the exterior walls of our house upon returning from an out-of-town vacation. The pests were even getting into the house somehow. I called, and initially was told it would be several days before they could come, but when I told them the yellow jackets were in the house, they sent a technician immediately. He was courteous, told us exactly what he was going to do, and what to expect after the treatment. Two days later the yellow jackets were again swarming outside their nests and I called back. The same technician came again, sprayed again, and we haven't had a problem since. I would recommend this company to my friends.

They came out and treated the ants, which were in a ceiling in our family room. We had ants dropping out of the ceiling on our heads. We had to leave the house for 4 hours after the treatment. Unfortunately, the first treatment did not work and they had to come back and treat again (another 4 hours out of the house). Then a few weeks later we were having the roof replaced and the roofers discovered more ants. United came back and treated again. We are keeping our fingers crossed. The good news was that we only had to pay the initial fee and did not have to pay again. I gave them a "B" on punctuality because the third time they were an hour late for a 7 a.m. appointment, but overall I was happy with the service.

We just moved into a very old house, and the place was infested with rats in the attic and wall spaces, and some sort of bee/wasp/hornet in the shake shingles. I called around for extermination places and some other providers made me feel uneasy, as in, you're desperate so we're gonna take you to the cleaners. United Pest provides friendly, very honest advice from the moment of your first call. They offered two options, a single-visit rate, or a quarterly visit rate that was surprisingly affordable. I went with the quarterly option. Two professionals came out to the house - both very neat, personable and clean. They picked up where my crawl space/attic cleaner (Clean Crawls) left off. Clean Crawls secured both areas for big critters (raccoons, feral cats), so United Pest found even smaller access areas and secured them by many different means - most often, discreet wire mesh. They searched the house head-to-toe, finding several holes that I overlooked, as did my previous vendors. See my report on Clean Crawls, rat control was not in their line of work, and they were awesome for what I hired them to do. This is a good example of how sometimes it a team of companies to attack a single problem. My plumber also played a crucial role towards this solution. United Pest set some traps and gave me advice on how to keep the rats at bay. As for the wasps, they sprayed all of the areas where we've seen them come in. In the weeks since their visit, we have seen a dramatic change in the house. We have seen no new wasps in the areas we had seen them before - though we still get them in the garden, which makes sense. As part of our initial visit deal, they came back two weeks later - at no extra charge - to check in and respray. They will be back again next quarter. I made a great decision going with this company - this is Seattle, there will always be critters on the attack, but I feel we now have this situation under control. UPDATE: They came out for their quarterly visit and did a thorough inspection and re-spray for the wasps. They did an awesome job, to date the wasp problem has been reduced as far as we could ever hope (we still see an occasional one fly around outside - as normal - but none appear to be nesting in the house). They also meshed a vent pipe on the roof where we think a mouse might be able to sneak in, but since the company's first visit, we have not seen a single critter reappear.

We recently purchased a 20 year old home. The inspection report noticed some carpenter ant activity in the shop/crawlspace area (two dead ants) and some rodent activity so I wanted to make sure the problem was addressed before we fully moved in. The first visit, Ben came out with the technician, Adrianna, who services my area, and they sprayed the exterior of the house and interior for spiders and ants with various sprays. They also set traps inside the crawlspace and attic and sealed a likely entry point for rodents. I signed up for their quarterly service plan. They suggested I clean up some of the foliage that was touching the house and remove some rotted railroad ties that were the likely entry point for ants coming into my shop, which I did. During the followup appointment two weeks later, I mentioned to the technician that there was a lot of carpenter ants in my woodshop (which is in the daylight basement of our home) and they were flooding out of a couple of exposed 2x8 beams that were on the ceiling. We removed the tied down insulation from the ceiling a piece at a time and uncovered a nest of carpenter ants. For the next hour and half we used our central vac to vacuum up the nest as we took down insulation piece by piece. We probably sucked up a thousand or so. The nest was dry and there was no moisture -- from what I've read it was probably a satellite nest. After that was cleaned up and we couldn't find any more live ones, she sprayed the shop extensively and we sealed it up for a week while my family went on a pre-planned vacation. When I got back, I counted (roughly) about 1500 dead ants lying on the floor of the shop. Apparently, this was a major thoroughfare for the ants. Over the next two months, each day I had a new pile of dead ants to clean up. It started out at about 200 dead ants per day, but slowly kept reducing in count. At the one month mark it was down to about 50 a day, and at the end of two months I finally didn't have to perform my nightly cleanup. As a side note, I was getting frustrated at the one month mark that I still couldn't use my shop and that it was a seemingly never ending stream of dying ants, so I went out and bought my own ant bait sticks for 10 bucks which I put around my property. I have since examined the bait sticks and something has definitely been munching away on the poison in them. I'm not sure why United didn't throw a pack my way to supplement the spraying that they did. I feel like communication could have been better and I hope it improves. My initial review here on Angie's list was responded to by the owner of the company who said someone would contact me, but I never heard from anyone. As far as rodent issues, I haven't had any issues with those so I think that problem was taken care of. However, we still have a lot of spider activity both inside and outside the house so I hope this can be addressed further during the next quarterly visit.

They came on time and got rid of the wasps nests. It didn't fully work the first time so they came back a second time and sprayed free of charge.

My phone call was answered by a human being and my questions were thoroughly answered. We scheduled a convenient time for a representative to come to the house and he, Mark, was exactly on time. After taking a few minutes to assess the situation, Mark donned his bee-gear and began the extermination process. He was unable to remove the nest due to its location under the roof between the rafters (he did not want to destroy the roof) so he was prepared and used a chemical spray. He said that there may still be some bee activity for a day or two, but that if we saw anything a week from today to call them immediately. He also explained and wrote on the receipt that we had a 90 day guarantee -- which means they will come back and respray if we see any bee activity in the same nest within the 90-day period. Mark was done, cleaned up and gone within an hour of arrival. He was very pleasant and sensitive to my concern regarding the need to kill the bees -- but, due to their placement and the fact that they were yellow jackets, not honey bees, he really had no other option. We did continue to see some activity for the following two days, but have seen none since that date.

He did his job once and came back when there were further problems and it was very effective, we can keep our sliding door open now.

Marc came to the appointment ready to work and probably spent a half hour or more here both inspecting the place and talking to me. He was careful about his own safety and about my belongings. He was congenial and informative.

Punctual and courteous service. We were impressed by way Marc was immediately able to identify the source and location of the problem by the outside back gate and arranged to set up an exterior perimeter spraying for us. Prices were fair (the price quote above includes the initial estimate), and senior discount was honored.

The pest inspector Ulysses showed up on time and went into the crawlspace. When he came out, he said he thought there was a dead raccoon in one section which he did not remove because he didn't think he could get in there. In fact on the work order receipt, he wrote "the homeowner agrees to remove the dead animal" but we never agreed to it. I know the section he's talking about and, although it's tight like most crawlspaces, it IS accessible. He was about to leave so I had to take the initiative and ask him to look around the foundation and roof areas for signs of rodent infiltration. He didn't go into the attic to look for himself. He said the small holes dug around the foundation were from rats but did not confirm if the problem was current or not, nor did he offer any solutions (including ongoing rodent treatments) for any of these problems. I did speak to the appointment setter again and she retracted her statement about removing dead animals to say if it had been a rat or something small then it would've been removed. In effect I paid someone $125 to tell me what I already knew -- there was a dead animal in the crawlspace -- and was not given any further expertise on pest control.

Very impressed. Both representatives that visited were knowledgeable, prompt, and thorough. The staff at UPS offices were courteous and responsive.

Did not work, but am not sure it was their doing or if there is too much shrubbery next to our house. My advice -- learn to live with the spiders or else be willing to have them spray numerous times a year.

He was very thorough, highly professional, explained everything in great detail, and I'll call this company again whenever I need any service they provide.

I set up the appointment and they showed up on time. Thier representative did a complete examination of our house and identified how the rats were getting on the roof and then how they were getting in the attic. He advised me about trimming some trees to cut off access and started to repair the roof line. He set traps and gave me a quote for completing the roof repairs and cleanup of the mess the rats made. He came back about a week later and completed the work. He was on time, very knowledgeable, courtious and respectful of my property. I thought thier pricing was fair and thier warrenties good. Great experience!

Keith went above and beyond to help try to discover the cause of a water problem that resulted in moisture ants. Checked out several potential sources and finally found what we believe to be the problem and are working on fixing. He attempted to come back to replace some of the damaged siding but it ended up being a bigger problem and we will get a contractor in to get it fixed. The company was extremely nice about not charging for the time since the condition could not be fixed and suggesting a company to call in to get the fixes done.
