+ -1 moreI had some trees removed a few weeks before and a squirrel?s nest was removed. It then made sense squirrels were what I heard and not rats. At this point I am out $360+ with no results and need to hire another pest control company to get rid of the rodents. I am not an exterminator. Pest control is their business and they " Accurately identify..pests" (website) but they fell short this time in their work. The experience was money wasted.
Description of Work: I heard critters in my attic and due to the positive reviews and the fact they were a local company I called UPS. They wouldn't give an estimate over the phone and promptly sent out an employee to check. After discussing what I heard it was thought I had rats. I am mostly confined to a wheelchair and had not actually seen nor was able to go up to the attic to confirm they were rats. He looked at my attic and did a survey of my roof. He found 3 holes and a gap between my roof and fascia on 3/4 of the roof that they could repair for a couple thousand dollars. He said he set 5 baited traps. The roof has been the same for 30 years so I declined the repair.He subsequently came back 3 times over two months to check the traps and no rats had been caught. On last visit he said he had set 6 more traps which was the last time I saw him. A neighbor came over after UPS’s last visit and said he had not seen any rats but had seen squirrels enter my attic.

Description of Work: I used the services of United Pest Solutions Inc. to clear up a bee problem we had. The bees were congregating in the kitchen vent fan that was connected to the outdoors, and they kept coming in the house. They did some thing to the space in the wall, extermination plus some kind of sealing to keep them from coming in.

+ -1 moreSome of the pest control companies come and they try to hard sell things. They are right down there. They scare the customers. United Pest Solutions come and do the job, and then they leave. They then bill me and I pay them. They are a great company. They are locally owned. They don't do the hard sell. They have been wonderful. They are a long time provider for me. I have never been to their office, but they come and take care of the job. When they are done, their job is done and I don't have to call them back.

+ -1 moreIt went very well. I was fairly sure where the hive was just from observing the bees' activity so it was easy for him to find it. Once he found it, it was just a matter of spraying. He did say it was a fairy large hive.
Description of Work: Technician went into crawlspace to find a beehive. Bees were coming in and out from the foundation of the house. He went into crawlspace, located a large hive and sprayed the hive. Within a day, all activity from the hive stopped. He suggested that we should put a smaller gauge screen on the vent into the crawlspace so bees will not build another hive. The company provided excellent service and the price seemed fair.

Description of Work: Ben Weber, technician, arrived on 3/22/12, on time. After inspection inside and out, he treated the interior at the baseboard below the kitchen cabinets, exterior wall void and exterior perimeter. He explained that we may see ant activity over the next 4-7 days and that he would perform a follow-up inspection in 14 days. It was about a month after the initial service that I called to remind them that the two weeks follow-up period had passed. They were very apologetic and scheduled the follow-up date for 4/19/12, Thursday. Ben arrived on time, was courteous and professional and performed the inspection. Within 60 days of the initial appointment, if I saw any ant activity, they would return.
