Nicole was very responsive and professional. She explained the bid, the process and the techniques to be used in the work. Because our home is 90 years old lead is a consideration. She was very helpful in understanding that process. In the end we decided to go with another, more competetive bid but I appreciate the time and professionalism she provided.

Nicole was fantastic to work with. She was very responsive to communications and punctual for her appointment to assess my job and give me a bid. She made several helpful suggestions for the job and was very accommodating regarding my requests for timing of the work and other details. Her crew was friendly and efficient, and cleaned up nicely after they were done. I had a few questions midway through the work and Nicole responded quickly via e-mail, then showed up in person to make sure the work was done to my specifications. I'm extremely pleased with the result and with the extra attention to detail and customer service.

She (Nicole Persson) came out and she gave us a bid. My husband said is there is a chance I can get it done and so on and so forth and she said oh no because she was backed up and weather sometimes wouldn’t range so she just can’t put stand. She came out and gave us a bid. The guys who came out and did the job – they got it done. It looks beautiful. It was in September when they came out. She said you probably won’t need anything down for the next three or four years. It is probably around $3500 to $4000 but we got an almost an 800 square foot deck and they replaced boards, they pressure wash it, stain it and they were on their hand and knees when they were standing up. It was just amazing to watch. I definitely will use them again.

I had a rather unusual job for Nicole Perrson of Prime Coats LLC. I had just had the roof replaced on my house and most of the plywood in the eaves had to be replaced due to water damage. I had to have the underside of the eaves painted to match my house color before I could have the gutters installed. Prime Coats gave me a fair quote and, since it was getting to be full on winter, could only promise to get to it as weather permitted. So I accepted her offer even though I had the gutter installation scheduled a couple of weeks out. Nicole Perrson showed up with her crew at the first semi-dry day and with a half a day slide due to some overnight showers they had it done in a couple of days. Eaves are always a difficult job, and with the cold they couldn't use the exact same kind of paint as the house was painted with but they did a great job of matching color and texture and it was ready to go with time to spare. Nicole was great to work with and was very thorough. The crew cleaned up after themselves and were polite and efficient in their proceedings. I recommend Prime Coats LLC very highly.

I am so impressed with the quality, the workmanship and the integrity of Nicole and her team. I was a bit concerned about how to get my house painted, especially at this time of the year because of the weather. But I had to get it painted so I went to Angie's List knowing I could trust what it said. I did call the top few exterior painting companies. Nicole's was cost competitive, had the highest ratings from the most recent reviews and in the interview process, she excelled by far. She understood that this "project" was "overwhelming to me" but yet was also very important to me and I was a bit nervous about it. She reassured me, was patient and explained everything. She even helped when I asked for her opinion on some color questions I was stuck on. She was right on the color questions and I am thrilled with the final product. I love driving in my driveway and have a sense of pride with my home again. I am grateful to have found her. I am using her again next month with some help on in interior "project" and can't wait as I know, it too will look wonderful and I will be proud. I highly recommend Nicole's company!

Nicole Persson, the owner of Prime Coats, and her crew were great to work with. Due to out-of-town guests arriving on a certain date, I wanted the house painted before they arrived. This was very important to me and Nicole was very sensitive to my need and succeeded in meeting my schedule. Everything was done as quoted. They are very professional and do excellent work. I thought the price was quite fair in that they used top quality paint and did so many time-consuming pre-cautionary steps in the process. I received the Angie's List discount in the amount of $313.10 also. I am a very satisfied customer and I am highly recommending Prime Coats LLC. I recently used Prime Coats LLC again ( 10/16/2013) to patch and paint plugs from blown in insulation installation. There wasn't time to do this installation prior to painting so. Again, Nicole was very accommodating and did the patch and paint as soon as weather permitted. Dave did a phenomenal job of patching and painting, My fear was that the plugs would be noticeable even after being treated but that is not the case. He spackled and sanded just enough to leave the cedar siding texture intact. We are so impressed and very happy with the results! The cost of this project was, $328.50 for about 3 hours of labor.

This project went very well from the start. Responsive, conscientious, and skilled manager and painters. Didn't cut corners and quality was high. Worked efficiently but with attention to detail. We noticed after the project that when they refinished one of our doors that included a tempered window that the sanding process had scratched the exterior glass. This needed to be replaced and the company was responsive and arranged its replacement at their cost. I highly recommend the service by Nicole and the workmanship of the team that worked on our house.

We discovered that finding a good painter this late in the season was going to be very difficult. We had just replaced a section of the cedar siding and did quite a bit of necessary prep work on the remaining part of the siding on the west side of the house. We needed someone to do the painting because the area extends to two and a half stories high. We called Prime Coats LLC, Nicole Persson's company. Although Nicole's employees were booked through the summer, she came out to a**** our situation. As a result, Nicole was able to get our small job squeezed in and completed as scheduled. We are extremely pleased with Nicole's business expertise in handling our situation. My husband has always done most of the household projects and he tends to be pretty meticulous. He was most satisfied with the expertise and work ethic of Nicole's painters. They were prompt in arriving, did excellent work, and cleaned up before they left. We plan to have Prime Coats LLC paint our whole house next summer.

I thought that the owner was professional. She know all about house painting in running her business. What I didn't like about her was she said she was busy. She did take time off to do a vacation and it's just kinda let me hanging. It went on for a while and longer than I thought. I would expect more of an instantaneous type thing especially with e-mails and telephone calls which was we're using back then, so I was disappointed in that. The quality of the job was fine. I was away on business so the workmen came and did a fine job. Except that since there's nobody home at the time, they felt like they could leave that the area a little bit messy with things in the driveway like silver can and little pieces of litter here and there and not being neat as if I was home. So, when I came home and I discovered that, I was disappointed. I called her and said that can anybody speak in ownership for keeping this place neat and it will reflect your company. She got right out here and it got all neatened up. I was disappointed in that because I would expect my place to be taken care of regardless of whether I'm or not to complain about it. So, those are two downside things that were there. The work was done well. She helped me select a particular stained and showed me a good process to do that. I was very happy with that. She was very responsive with giving the stained backed with a couple of different colors for me to test and make a decision so, that went very well. It was completed in a timely manner. There was a couple of rain afternoon where the workmen quit which was fine. I'd rather definitely have that occur instead of trying to do a poor job with wet conditions. The cleaning of the house went well. I particularly like the fact that she had her workmen removed the light fixtures and the downspouts instead of painting them or masking them because my downspouts are still in a nice factory condition. I didn't want them painted. I really don't like the like fixtures masked off. She removed those. She said that's just part of what she does. They sprayed the body of the house and then they back rolled it methodically. They did a complete coverage and a good job. I felt like that was very good. The workmen took their time and in my observation, they did a complete job. I'm happy with it.

Though Prime Coats wasn't able to take on the work as they are booked out until exterior painting season is over, I appreciated that Nicole called back and was friendly, prompt in returning my call, and completely honest!

Excellent service. During the up-front estimate process Nicole was professional and courteous. During the work itself, the Prime Coats crew arrived on the day they indicated they would start. When I mentioned that some of the window trim that was installed by a different company had not been caulked, Nicole didn't hesitate to say that her company would handle it, even though it wasn't typically the painter's responsibility. I was very impressed with the lead painter's (Brett) professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to quality. I highly recommend anyone looking for exterior house painting to hire Prime Coats.

Nicole and her crew are excellent! She came to give me an estimate a couple of months prior to our job being done. I got estimates from four other painters, but decided to go with Nicole because I liked Nicole's attention to detail. It did take Nicole a little while to get the estimate to me, and understandably so, because she is the only person (I think), running the company. But it was not a huge issue to me. There was a little bit of urgency for the work to be done as the summer went on, because we were going to have house guests for the latter half of summer. But Nicole worked us in, and her crew finally arrived. Her crew, Justino, Marcello and Sergio, were excellent. I was happy to find that they paid great attention to detail, just as Nicole did. The three guys worked hard, from the moment they arrived till their day was done. Other than a break for lunch each of the three days they were here, they worked non-stop, from 8 am till late evening. They cleaned up carefully and stashed away their things at the end of each day. Nicole stopped by each day to make sure that I was happy with how things were progressing. On the very last day, my husband took a look at the windows and decided that he needed more work to be done on them. It is actually a rather tricky job, since there are so many parts to our wood windows. Nicole stopped by to discuss what the additional work would entail and the crew went right to work on all the additional parts of the window. And the staining job on our deck and trellis was beautiful. Our trellis has a criss-cross pattern on the top with thin pieces of wood. Looking down from our upstairs window, it is easy to spot any parts that are not stained. The crew inspected it from the top multiple times to make sure they got every single part of the trellis. We will definitely be hiring Nicole and her crew again for our future painting needs!

Initially very happy with them as the estimate was prompt (within a couple of days of coming out). But very disappointed with inability to secure a date. I understand they are busy but I was told initially they could get to the work by the middle of july (i talked to them the middle of june). When I tried to nail down a date, they told me the middle to end of august. Also, tried numerous times to secure a date through email and response was sporadic. Last email was 3 weeks after I sent mine. Again, was impressed by the reviews initially but very disappointed with the delivery of services. Would not use again. Ended up using someone else. The project ended up being much larger as well as we decided to do substantially more work.

I loved how she came and did her bid, but they were very expensive. I wasn’t able to get the work done so I didn’t have anything done. It was pretty late in the season and she was pretty booked up.

Had a wonderful experience with Nicole and her crew from beginning to end. Nicole's estimate was fair and, by far, the most thorough I encountered. She did everything she said she would do without any hassles. Her crew showed up on time every day, communicated on every step and left the work site immaculate. Very pleased with the results! No surprises in the price. Will definitely try to use this company again.

Very Well. From the very beginning Nicole was very responsive. And her crew was very willing to review status as the work was done. In terms of pricing, they weren't the highest bid we received, nor the lowest. And I would say they were higher than the average price of the bids we received. What helped us to select them was that they provided a very detailed bid as to what they were going to do. We therefore knew from the start exactly what was going to be done, and if anything was needing to be added or changed. While I'm hoping we obviously don't have to paint this or any house anytime soon, I would highly recommend them based on this experience.

Nicole's bid was extremely competitive; she was also very informative, responsive to my needs, and flexible with time as we scheduled this kitchen painting job around other parts of the remodel. She was helpful in offering advice and her employees did excellent work that was complimented highly by my stager. I recommend her with no reservations.

Best contractor service ever. I wish all homeowner problems were paint problems so that I could hire Nicole and her team for every job. Nicole is a great person and her team is top-notch. Look no further. We hired them for a much more substantial job back in 2011. For this recent small job, I didn't even consider shopping around. If you are going to own a home, you are going to want Prime Coats to paint it. Thank you Nicole!

Nicole and her team were fantastic. We will use her again when we paint the interior of the house. Nicole's final invoice was the same as her initial bid. The few minor changes we made she was able to accomodate. The house prep was incredible - her team re-caulked everything and the finished product is that the exterior of the house is in better condition now than when it was new. The stucco chimney had some blistering and she was able to repair it correctly before the painting began. If we ever had any questions Nicole was alway very prompt to visit our property to address any concerns that we had. Initially we were having difficulties deciding on the best colors and Nicloe recommended a color specialist to assist us - the only $150.00 that we added to the bid. When we went to replace the top railing on the deck we found that there was mush more wood rot that we expected so we had to replace the entire perimeter of the deck. Nicole lined us up with a contractor that did a fantastic job while we were out of town. Her connections took all of the worry out of the process for us. One recommendation I would make if using Nicole - make sure you use the highest quality of paint. She may not be the least expensive bid, however she is probably the best value based on the quality of work. The little bit extra that you pay for high quality paint (and 2 coats) is worth it. If you use this company you will not be disappointed!

Nicole and her crew did a wonderful job with preparing and painting our house. She color matched our paint and did an excellent job repairing a previous botched paint job. She was extremely responsive and her crew was very professional.

We had Nicole (owner) give us an estimate over a year before she did the work - we just couldn't pick a color in time to get in the first season :-) Out of the four estimates we got, Nicole was the only one who brought a lead-testing kit with her so she could come up with an accurate estimate of prep costs for us - that really impressed me. The next season we contacted her and were able to get on the schedule for October. I appreciated that she was very up-front that it was iffy if she could get to us and that it depended on weather, her communication was always very clear and concise. She was almost 100% with returning emails within a day, there was once or twice (in the year or so where we were in touch) where it took longer or I had to re-send an email, but overall Nicole was really a great communicator. She's obviously deeply involved in her company and cares about her customers being happy. It is also very obvious that she knows what she is doing and is very familiar with appropriate products for different jobs/times of year, and that her crew is also well trained. She arrived early on the first day of work with the prep crew and did a thorough walk around the house with me to refresh her memory of the job details. She made sure to introduce me to both of her employees by name, which I appreciated. The prep crew completed their work efficiently and did a great job, including small details like properly caulking at the corners where our siding meets. The painting crew came later that week after the house had dried out and got right to work, and Nicole came by at the beginning of that process as well to introduce the new crew and make sure everything was ready. The painters were very efficient, and really did a good job of catching little details and asking how we wanted them, as well as accommodating a mid-job request to paint a piece of trim a different color - we wanted what turned out to be non-standard and just hadn't thought about it until we saw the paint up, they changed it in a jiffy and were pleasant about our request. They did a great job of masking and working around our landscaping, none of the shrubberies had even a touch of overspray! Nicole also came by at the end of the job to do a last walk around and make sure everything got cleaned up. I would absolutely use Prime Coats for future work. Nicole is a true pro, her prices are very fair and competitive, and she is a business owner who really pays attention and cares about doing a high-quality job and making her customers happy. I also found her to be an all-around nice person, which is a really nice bonus to working with a contractor if you ask me :-)

Nicole was very prompt in setting up an initial meeting and was very friendly and personable. She confirmed the presence of lead paint and gave us an estimate right away which was comprehensive and extremely professional. Her pricing was competitive with the two other painting companies that bid on the project and we selected Prime Coats based on their pricing, their Angie's list reviews, and her responsiveness and professionalism. The bid was completed in late spring with our only requirement that the painting be completed before August 10 due to a family visit. Prime Coats was delayed in getting to our house due to the wet spring and early summer weather. They arrived the Thursday before our due date (we had agreed to let them work through the weekend, late evenings, and into the following week a few days despite this being less than ideal for us). Nicole communicated their issues fairly well but we would have preferred our job not being left until the last possible moment. The day of Prime Coats arrival, Nicole was not on site when we left or arrived at the house. Her employees arrived sometime mid-day and were friendly but did not all speak English and there was some trouble answering their questions about colors and access. We would have preferred to have Nicole on site to introduce us to her employees. The painting and priming went quickly and the crew was very hardworking and friendly. There were some mix ups with colors for different pieces of trim and whether or not window trim was to be painted that I think Nicole could have coordinated better but overall things went smoothly. Her employees were great about accommodating our dog (who has access to the back yard during the day). Nicole was on site for a few minutes each day and sometimes this meant we saw her, other times, just an email. This was not a problem but we were not aware that this would be the arrangement at the time of the bid and would have preferred to have this explicitly stated. We were under the impression that Nicole was part of the crew. The job was substantially complete by our revised due date but due to our family visiting we delayed a comprehensive inspection of the work until after our visitors had left. When we did the inspection we found several dozen areas that needed touch-up and it was clear to us that in the rush to get to their next job, a final pass had not been completed. We raised the issues with Nicole and she did some of the touch up right away but the method this was done created the impression of spots on the house. We went back and taped all the areas that needed a fix and asked that a comprehensive touch up be completed (painting the whole board instead of just dabbing here and there) and for the most part this was done. We had also notified Nicole of some damage to our landscaping and to a cap on our stair hand rail. The railing cap piece had been broken by the crew prior to painting and had been poorly nailed back together, caulked and painted when it should have been replaced. There was some normal plant squashing in areas where access was tight that we expected, but there were also many plants that were fatally squashed where access was not an issue. Additionally, several stones on our flagstone path were moved from their settings and were not properly reset and sat loosely on top of the gravel. We identified all these issues to Nicole and she indicated that they would be addressed but to date we have heard nothing further from her nor has any action to correct these issues been taken. We probably should not have paid her the final payment until they were taken care of. It's unfortunate because otherwise, we were happy with Nicole and her crew and love the way our house looks. Update: Nicole did follow up and provide us with a gift card to a local nursery as compensation for the damaged plants. We appreciated that she followed through on her promise. We increased the responsiveness rating from C to B.

Nicole is a superstar! She knows what she is talking about, she is direct and informative. Her crew were happy to help out and did their work thoroughly and quickly. They were tidy and the job looks great - thank you all, very pleased all round. Would recommend this company to anyone!

Job went great i have used Nicole (owner) several times in the past she has a crew that she has had for a while and always do a great job. I got three bids to paint the exterior of my home. This was the mid-price bid. Let me start by saying I really like Nicole Persson, the owner of the business. She is professional, friendly, responsive, and easy to deal with. We contracted to have the house done in the early spring, and then the weather was terrible, so it took a long time to get it done. But I don't blame the company for that. Further, the paint job was pretty thorough, as they painted the whole house with tinted primer and then put on the color coat. My complaint is that her workmen were friendly, but sloppy. They got paint on my spantex deck, and the only way to correct that is to recoat the deck, which I did. They got paint specks on my trex deck, which doesn't come off at all. They painted my shed all one color instead of doing the trim in the accent color, and Nicole came out on the Fourth of July and painted the trim herself, which was admirable. Also, because of the weather, they left the windows covered with paper for over a week. While I understand the weather issue, when they tore off the paper, there was paper and tape residue stuck to all the windows, which I then had to scrape with a blade and clean the windows. The guys were friendly, and I wanted the accent color used as a stripe on my chimney, which they did for me, and that was nice. But the more we work out in the yard over the summer, the more little sloppy things we find, where paint is on the brand-new roof tiles, or downspouts are not totally covered. I have to say that the high bid was $3000 higher, and the question is whether these sloppy things are worth the $3000 savings. Probably, but it is pretty annoying to have to keep touching things up. This experience is better than some I have had in the past, where painters don't even show up, and as I said, I really like Nicole. But don't expect perfect. I am glad this is probably the last time I will have to paint this house.
