Abbott's Appliance Service

Not good. Provider responded after 4 days later to my detailed email (explaining all the problems) with a one line response: "Call me". I will never contact this service again. Obviously they don't need my business.

Tim came out the same day I called and diagnosed the problem. He needed to order some parts and returned to make the fix the day the parts came in. No complaints! Tim was professional and pleasant. He explained the problem and what was needed for the repair. He wasn't able to come out at the original time, but he called to let me know where he was and when he would make it to the house.

Tim was great! I called on Friday, he was able to come out Saturday. Friendly, courteous, provided helpful info for my other appliances. Seemed a bit expensive for a simple fix, but I couldn't find anyone else to come out before the following Wednesday.

Tim was very responsive and very quick to identify and fix the problem. Competitive pricing. Tim is easy to work with and we'll definitely use him for any future needs. Recommend.

Our refrigerator alerted that the water filter needed changing. However, the new filter wouldn't fit even though it was identical to the old one that I had just removed. I called Abbot's and got the on-call repairman. He happened to be near our neighborhood. He arrived on time (a little early actually), figured out the issue and fixed it, all in less than 10 minutes. I was totally impressed with the service and the price.

He showed up on time. Familiar with the stove. Fixed it quickly.

As before Tim Abbott was prompt in responding and arriving. The repair was done quickly, he checked his work and he cleaned up everything before he left. Tim has done several repairs for my family recently. The first was a stove top that another provided tried 3 times to repair unsuccessfully. Tim fixed it on the first try. Several repairs later, I can say without qualification, that Tim is responsive, professional, timely and reasonably priced. He does excellent work and cleans up thoroughly before leaving every time. He is now my go-to appliance repairman. I whole hardheartedly recommend him to my family, friends, and now to the Angie's List community!

I requested an appointment via email and received a response promptly and they were out within 2 days. The water had stopped flowing months ago. Someone else came out and said and said it was probably the filter or the water line had become frozen. We replaced the filter and it still didn't work. (What we did not know is that he may have turned the water off and we didn't know!) it may have been frozen--not sure. Regardless, it now works! Felt silly, but that is the way it goes. Also, the freezer basket broke and the last person said we had to get a new one--and they are very expensive. It was fixed with what we had and we are happy. Also, the dryer stopped working. Turns out a sock had become lodged in the motor and would make the dryer shut off. Another easy fix. One lesson learned--DO NOT forget to put in the dryer filter after cleaning it. We are very pleased with the service and so glad it didn't cost us a lot of money we do not have. Thanks for your great service!

The dryer would not start and flashed an error message of F01. The technician had to order the part and return today to install it. Everything works great and no more wet laundry. He came out the same day my husband called to diagnose the problem and returned today with the necessary part.

Tim was great! He came out and assessed the situation. Since we have an older oven, he had to order the part (didn't have in his truck) and returned the next day to replace it. Took him just a few minutes to have my oven up and running! He's friendly, trustworthy and professional. I'll definitely call him again!

Fridge stopped working, they troubleshooted that it was a power inverter, came back in 48hrs with the part and fixed it, plus replaced the water line for free.

Tim took my call the previous day and gave me a 2 hour window for the next day and prepared me for a $45 service/diagnosis fee which would be applied towards cost of repair. I did get his voicemail the first time I called which basically says upfront (in a straight forward, but professional manner), "I'm busy working...your best bet is to try me again in a couple hours instead of waiting for me to call you back." I did leave a voicemail and also called him back which is when he picked up the second time. He was likely on a job when we talked, because he asked if I could text him the very basics of what we had just discussed - name, house address, window of time. I didn't mind doing so. He arrived as expected within the time frame and got right to work. It was a quick diagnosis and repair to replace a fuse which he happened to have on hand, but surprised himself he had it (older model). I listened to him also field calls from other customers while working, trying to get their pertinent details quickly and professionally, and got right back to work or worked simultaneously. To have my dishwasher working again less than 24 hours after calling him is well worth the $155. $22 part; $75 labor; $45 service/diagnosis fee plus tax. I'm always torn on estimates being free or not. I understand from the provider's perspective they can't be running all over the place for free and I've seen some diagnosis/estimate fees much higher, but I would typically get 2 (free) bids then choose. Tim was here, he had the part and was ready to work. Sometimes my time is worth more than trying to save a couple bucks. I'd call Tim again in a heartbeat for appliance repair. He assured me his work is good for 90 days, but to always call him if anything he worked on (or for that matter didn't work on) isn't working properly. He seems to take pride in his work which is always a key characteristic.

I would definitely use Tim again in the future - without question.

It went great. Tim is a nice guy, and I feel like he tried hard to save me money. He was fast and efficient and got the job done quickly.

I called up Tim on Saturday morning as my washer had a small leak from the front bellow. Tim came out that afternoon and spent the time necessary to look over the whole machine to try to figure out where the leak was coming from. When all the standard spots were clear, he stuck around and spent the time to wait through an entire small cycle, as the leak only seems to happen at the very end of a high-speed spin cycle. When he witnessed the leak, he traced it to a hose and sealed it up properly. We couldn't run the washer again for 24h as we had to wait for the seal to set, so we couldn't test for sure that we got the entirety of the leak. Note that there is still a small leak that remains and I think I'll have Tim out again to see if he can track it down. I feel he did a great job while he was here given the symptoms of the leak.

I woke on a Saturday morning to find my Refrigerator leaking. Water makes me panic. We looked on Angie's List and found Abbott's Appliance repair located near by, in our neighborhood actually, and with high ratings. We called Tim, he came over right away since we were so close, and found the leak in about 2 min. He knew just the part we needed, and was headed to Renton for other reasons that afternoon so he was able to pick up the part that afternoon. He came back on Sunday, installed the part and we were back in business. I am guessing we benefitted some from being right across the street for his speedy weekend service, but I have to say that it spoke highly of Tim as a professional and a person that he was willing to do it. I was so grateful. And the rate he charged was reasonable. I highly recommend Tim and Abbott's Appliance repair.

Called Tim on Wednesday and he came out on Thursday. French door refrigerator with freezer on bottom had clogged drain so ice had been building on bottom of freezer, then coming out when the freezer was opened and melting on the floor. Tim knew exactly what the problem was and repaired it quickly.

He was prompt, friendly and very quick at replacing the switch for the water.ice dispenser.

Scheduled the repair of the ice maker and the day before the appointment, the laundry machine started leaking. Abbott rep Tim took care of both problems for us at the same time.

Great service. Fixed the problems competently and professionally and helped me troubleshoot other problems to determine cost-effective solutions. Extremely pleased with the fair pricing.

Contacted provider on weekend, Wanted my contact info and provided this to them. No call on Monday morning so I called them at 9AM. Was informed that they were still working on schedule. By 10:30am still no call. Went to another provider NOT! on Angie's list. Finally contacted me at 11am and told them I found someone else. They informed me they don't do my area so they were fitting me in. Why they did no say so at 9am. By the way I'm only 15 minutes from them.

Obviously, we thought it went very well. We will definitely use this service again.

Tim was very helpful and professional. My call was answered promptly and he was in my home working on the problem within the hour. He was able to determine the problem with my washing machine and gave me a reasonable estimate for repair costs. I opted to do the repair myself, and Tim had no problem with that. He charged me for the service call, and asked me to call again if I ever have another issue I need help with.
