Barron Heating

Gill Brackinreed was my first contact, Gill surveyed my home for the installation of Daikin Heating and AC ductless heat pump system. I took three bids from companies in my area "Arlington". Gills was the lowest and in addition his configuration of the system made the most sense as to where to install all the components. Gill worked with my concerns all the way thru the process. Install took about a half day, both installers were professional in all aspects. I could tell they vast experience in installation of the system. Installation went perfect not one problem. The system works as described, I feel it really works better than I thought it would, heat flow throughout out the house is even and accurate. Were heating 2500 square feet. I would definitely recommend Barron and there team to anyone, they know there stuff and there pricing was 20% less than my other estimates.

They came on time, they were very professional. I'm not entirely sure if the duct work has made my heat more efficient, however it is better than it was before. They say I have to replace my furnace. Perhaps next time. They gave me an estimate and were in and out of my house in no time. They were expensive, however less expensive than other places and they do good work.

Positives: Gil from Barron was on time, knowledgeable and professional. He did a thorough walk through of the house and crawl space, then sat down with us to describe his installation plan and the suggested equipment. He took a number of pictures of the crawl space to illustrate his points and even pointed out to us a number of issues that had cropped up in that area (apparently we've had a furry friend down there once or twice in the last few years) and offered to include repair for that in the work. He took down all of our information and agreed to have the bid back to us sometime before the middle of the next week. Throughout the bid process he told us that Barron would likely not be the cheapest bid and spent some time explaining to us what made Barron the better choice for this job. He was later than he said he would be getting us the bid. Barron came in higher than we had anticipated, but the bid we received was very detailed and well written. Gil responded to questions we sent him promptly (either same day or the next day) and was available to discuss all details of the bid with us. While we were waiting on other bids to be submitted Gil would occasionally call or email to check in and see if we had any additional questions he could answer. Negatives: Our first bid from Gil was a little above the other bid we had received, but the equipment was not what we had discussed in our in home consultation. After we let Gil know that another contractor had come in several thousand dollars lower and with better equipment than his bid, he sent us a "revised" bid with a lower cost and better equipment. To us, this indicated that the markup on the original bid had been high enough that there was substantial wiggle room in the cost. Gil wanted to discuss a potential third bid for the project. My wife and I felt that in the end if the first two bids weren't the best effort why should I grant Baron a third. Other vendors were very clear about their markups and said that bid you receive is the best we can do.

Based on the initial estimate by Chris Travers a crew of two performed work proposed in April of 2013. Arrived on time and completed the job in less time than anticipated. A couple of small unforeseen issues that arose early on were quickly responded to and resolved by Chris Travers. One of the technicians, Ben Bailey, was especially responsive to my questions (and I do ask many of them) in a very professional and friendly manner. A completion report achieved by a computer test during the sealing showed a significant reduction (almost elimination) of previously present duct leakage. It was well worth having this work done. Two of our rooms used to be a lot colder and the heat distribution seemed very inefficient. The day after the ducts were sealed we noticed a tremendous difference. The rooms are now evenly warm and despite the fact that we used the heat more than usual our utility bill did not go up compared to the same time frame last year.

Repair was for a gas odor coming from the furnace. It needed a valve replaced. The first valve replacement did not work to Barron's high quality inspection and a second one was ordered and repairman did the job a second time. This solved the problem and there was no additional charge for the additional hours spent in solving the problem. This part is now under warranty and should it fail Barrons will replace at no charge for the next year. We have used Barrons for over 10 years and always have our furnace cleaned each year to prevent problems and help it to run efficiently. They know their stuff, arrive on time, are respectful to wear shoe guards to keep your floor clean, and always do an excellent job on our furnace. This was the first repair our furnace needed in over 10 years of usage and I was very satified with their work.

It went very well. It was the third time we used Barron for a major project on our heating. Installed an electronic air filter in 2008. New furnace in 2010 and now the ducy system rebuild. Highly recommend them.

Mike R. was able to diagnose the issue and make the proper repairs. It took a few attempts, but he stuck around and made sure it was really fixed and I wouldn't have anymore problems. He also took the time to explain clearly, and in a way I could understand, what the problem was and why it had occurred. He was very polite and professional. I would definitely call Barron again.

don't use them for gas fireplace insert repair.

The technician, Andrew, was very professional. He arrived on time and explained what process he would be following. Throughout the service he would explain about things he found and what to look for in the future. We were very pleased with the service and will definitely call Barron for our heating needs in the future.

He was punctual, professional and did a great job. He also cleaned my dryer vent for no charge, which I really appreciated. I also appreciated the fact that they were willing to come to Whidbey Island to service my air ducts.

I give them an overall rating of A but for price I am not sure. I did go online and look at what it would cost for me to do myself and it was considerably more but you have to consider the labor.

Barron was responsible for the heating / ac system of my new home. Obviously the price for this was more than $1,000. but I am not sure how to enter it. They did a great job and they were very timely. They came out and showed me how to use everything as the builder decided he did not want to be in business anymore, prior to the home being finished (Slusher). Barron helped me immensely and put my mind at ease. They also installed two fans in the two gas fireplaces (about two yearsago). The fireplaces work and heat perfectly. I call them every year to find out how to turn on again in the fall. They are always so nice and patient while being extremely helpful. I would not use anybody but them in the future.

He replaced a bad air bleeder in our radiant floor heat system, also bled air from the system (which my husband had tried to do on his own - but wasn't as successful). Checked our pilots and burners In the two water heaters and recommended new burners. The heaters were almost ten years old so this seemed reasonable. He promised to call us with an estimate on parts before he ordered them, which he did very promptly. Price was reasonable and the parts came quickly once ordered. He also repaired a leaking relief valve, that has been dripping since we bought the house 6 years ago! The work was done quickly, our serviceman was polite and knowledgeable, and we've had no problems with it since. I'd definitely recommend Barron to any of our friends. Also, the receptionist on the phone was great, and appointments were easy to schedule, and they arrived just when they said they would!

It took four hours to complete the work and they did a good job. They were very professional and I have recommended them to other people.

When they gave us an estimate for our furnace, they found we had rodent damage to our vents. They came out and gave us a quote with three options as far as what we might need for our house. They also recommended we go with the smaller one since the size of our house didn't require the larger and more expensive model. They called me to schedule the six month cleaning for our furnace and air conditioner, so I didn't even have to remember to call them. I was really impressed with their follow up. The first cleaning of the filters is free, and I was blown away that they called me to schedule everything. They put shoe covers on to make sure no dirt was tracked in my home. They got all of their own permits that were required for each job. We were not charged extra for that, or for the electrical work that was done by their contractor. We didn't have to worry about any of that since it was all included in the price of the furnace. They were the most thorough, and also the lowest estimate I received. Overall, it was a great experience and we will definitely use them again.

It took a while to fix the problem and they did a good job. They diagnosed the problem and took care of it. I would call it a positive experience. Their prices are competitive. They always gave me a time window and they always arrived within that window. I definitely will use them in the future.

They did a good job. They come out on a yearly basis. They are prompt, very reasonable. They did good quality work. They came out for me and basically did a heating check up and they replaced the burners on the furnace and made sure it was all up to speed, cleaned and everything like that. Very reasonable, in and out and they were gone and they showed up on time.

I would recommend them. They were here on time and they cleaned everything up. They were just good. We had a problem with it the first night and they were here right away in the morning to straighten it out. The problem we had was with the thermostat which I thought they should have checked before they left. Their price was pretty average from all the ones we got. The quality was good.

The experience was very good. He could have told me I needed a brand new heater. I was standing there and watching him and he put in a new part and it didn't work and then I asked him to turn on the gas and it worked after that. I don't know if he was trying to fudge or not and I caught him on that. He was very nice after that. I know all about that. It was good and they ordered the part. It came quite fast and he replaced it so it wasn't as expensive a whole new heater. I didn't have any heat and it was getting chilly so I had to get it fixed. He was very professional. He was working in a very tight area and it could have just been an error on his part. It is an old heater and these guys have come in and worked on a whole bunch of different kinds of heaters. I was amused at it because he was flustered. He ordered the right part and gave me a thermal coupler in for nothing. The other part was the expensive part and he put a new filter in. it was pretty good. I have a service contract with them and I need to call them.

Barron installed the HVAC unit in the home before I lived there. I continue using them because i'm comfortable and content with their services.

They are good and I am happy. I give them the highest ratings across the board.

Barron had a few goofs but they were swamped because they had so many customers. They did put the wrong size machines in the wrong place but they did take care of it and fixed it. They were very knowledgeable about the technology. The price was fair.

They asked all the right questions when my husband asked them to put in the heat pump. Although their estimate was higher than another company, they were using the right components. They were professional, knowledgeable and on time.
