+ -1 moreThe initial appointment was canceled at the last second which very was inconvenient and the estimate for work on one of the trees was more than another arborist that we have used. After the inspection we specifically requested a written report which we did not receive until we reminded them for the report 10 days later.

Description of Work: Tree Resources came out to evaluate a Birch tree of ours that had been topped at some point in the past. It was growing new tops and we were concerned about the stability. They assessed the health of the tree and proposed a solution. After we accepted the proposal, a team was sent out to remove the weaker/unnecessary tops and clean up a few branches that were a risk or broken off and hanging precariously. They were quick, thorough, and very good.

The crew was able to get this done within a good timeframe. Scheduling and setting up the appointment was easy, but I did set it a ways out. Overall, I was happy with the service.

+ -1 moreThe work was performed by Tree Resource on Wednesday, 12/18/2013 beginning at 9am. Extensive pruning of a lilac and ceder tree was performed. The 3 person crew arrived on time and promptly got to work in my yard. They willingly answered any questions and showed me how to perform future, minor pruning on the lilac. The worked efficiently and when done thoroughly cleaned up and out all of the branches, etc. that had been removed. I would hire this company again and refer others to them. In fact, we have further work scheduled for February 2014.

+ -1 moreZeb came out to look at some trees that needed pruning from my perspective. A couple old Hinoki cedars, a Persian ironwood very close to my house, and a Sequoia semper virens in the backyard--also relatively close to the house. He also looked at a few other trees. The great thing about these guys is that they love trees--and don't want to do any unnecessary hacking. Zeb was great about getting me to understand how they prune; what they could do in terms of getting branches away from the roof; and which trees might or might not be too close to the house. Very useful. His scope of work was then written up and given to me, so that everything was in writing. Then a team of two came out and did the work, and cleaned up everything.
Description of Work: Consulted about some trees near my house and proposed work based on my concerns ; lightly pruned a couple trees, and took some large branches from a redwood in my backyard.

+ -1 moreProvider came to my house and assessed a number of trees. Then I got an estimate for the cost and, frankly, was floored. Even though I purchased two of these "big deals" at $200 each, I would only afford to have three trees worked on -- and even then paid, I believe an extra $200 or so. The provider was clearly professional, well trained and did great work. However, I still have many more trees that need work and will have to find a lower cost provider or do it myself. If I were wealthy I would use this provider. However, I have four acres with a great deal of work to be done and they simply are not affordable. If cost is not an issue for you, by all means hire this organization. They do great work.

We received a report with the pictures, recommendation for each of the trees and the price. We could then make a decision on how much of the work we wanted done. The estimator was very quick to answer questions. We were not home when the work was done. We were very pleased with what we saw when we arrived home and the triimers left no mess.

They were very responsive to set up an evaluation and we felt that we received very reasonable advice when someone was sent to assess our yard. We agreed on a tree removal. There was some miscommunication and the people who came pruned our tree instead of removing it. After we contacted the company they quickly responded and rescheduled and the tree was removed. We would use this company again.

+ -1 moreThe owner came out beforehand to check out what needed to be done and even pruned a small tree we had in our front yard that just needed a few cuts to get it growing correctly. Our backyard was definitely cleaner after they left. I would recommend them for any tree work you might have. The only knock would be price and it is hard to fault them for how much they must have to pay in salaries, insurance, business fees, etc..., but it was just hard to swallow a $1000 bill for the tree trimming we had done. Getting the Angie's deal helped knock off $200.

They gave me a proposal that was around 1200.00 dollars for all the work I needed completed, they subtracted the $200.00 dollars off of the proposal for my Big Deal purchase. I feel like I may have misunderstood what the deal was offering. I thought they were going to complete $200.00 dollars worth of work not give a proposal for the entire job.

Received a call the day before to confirm appointments. The crew was very tidy - did not leave behind any mess. We would definitely use them again!

Later I emailed them to tell them what I wanted done, and it has been a couple weeks and haven't heard enything back. Will need to try to contact them again I guess.

They pruned our favorite tree into a show-stopper and then worked their way through all of our other trees and shrubs, leaving our property looking so much better than it had. They cleaned up and chipped all the trimmings and left our place neater than when they arrived.
Description of Work: An arborist met with us to determine the scope of the work. Then he and another arborist came out as scheduled and spent a whole day working on our trees and shrubs according to plan.

They removed dead branches, reduced the weight, and cleaned the crowns so that the trees would be healthier and pose less of a threat given their proximity to the house. A sizable amount of debris came down, but the two-person team was extremely careful to make sure that nothing was damaged, and everything was neatly cleaned up at the end and turned into useful wood chips for use as mulch. I could not be more impressed with their professionalism and courtesy and would welcome them back

They adjusted the charge as they did not finish pruning that tree. |They sent an estimate of what it would cost to have the one tree felled. It was just over $600! I was astonished by that. |I had purchased two "big deals" for $99. That was $198 for $400 worth of work, but the total bill if I had agreed to the felling of the one tree on top of the pruning would have tipped out at $1400 to $1600. |I would still recommend this company for their knowledge and professionalism. I just thought the cost was really high.

+ -1 moreTrimmed a maple tree and a holly tree. Cut off a few limbs in other places. The holly took way too long and I didn't like the finished product. The holly wasn't very handsome to begin with so I should not be so harsh. The two young men who did the work were exceedingly nice and polite. What displeased me most of all is that I paid in full for service before August 29 before a person came out to prioritize what had to be done. The work was eventually done on October 14, 2013.

+ -1 moreIt took a while for them to get back to me (I called to schedule a bid right when I bought the Big Deal and they were flooded) and then I waited a couple of weeks for that appointment, then a couple of weeks again for the bid to get back to me (even though I contacted the arborist and I know he'd gotten his scope of services to the office), then a week or two before they could do the work. The office is the weakest link here, but worth patience because the arborist is good.
Description of Work: Tree Resource removed one large dead cedar tree, pruned one lilac and removed another, pruned a fruit and pear tree, and trimmed another large maple between our house and our neighbor's house (it had branches resting on our roof and we wanted to make sure it would not come down on either of our houses so they did some clearance pruning. The guys who did the work were great and the arborist was super knowledgeable--I learned a lot about our trees from him. They were really careful and cleaned up after themselves. They cut up some of the smaller branches into logs we could use in the fireplace, which I thought was really nice. They took the lilacs back in stages so I could evaluate how much I ultimately wanted to take it down to. The cost was $968 plus the $200 for the $400 Big Deal, so, pretty expensive for 4 hours of work (maybe a bit longer, plus the time to come out and assess what needed to be done). But I had complete faith in the work and that my house, trees, and garden would not be damaged in the process. The only area that could use improvement would be the responsiveness of the front office.
