Description of Work: We received several quotes to replace our furnace, and to add an A/C unit to our house. All Star quoted us the best price, but also what we felt was the best system for our house. The sales guy explained everything in detail, including the differences in their products and the specific reasons why one was better for our house. The installers were very friendly and neat, and cleaned up after themselves. We'll definitely recommend and use All Star again!

In addition to the installation of the air cleaner, the service man added an electrical plug-in and on-off switch at the side of the furnace. The furnace in my house, completed in July 2004, would normally be expected to have such a switch added back then but for whatever reason it was not. The installation technician noticed that the switch was not there so he added one, along with a "bonus" three-prong outlet. I appreciated this extra attention to detail and the fact that the technician added it without adding to the contract price. I allowed a full day on my schedule for the installation but it was completed in less than four hours: as clean and neat as the shiny spots on the back of a lady bug! The technician did a nice job of showing me the individual parts of the air cleaner before he installed them, and then showed me how to "read" the service panel, how to remove it to vacuum out the inside parts, and how to replace it.

Technician systematically worked around each floor of the house and left the house as clean as he found it. He had to remove a ceiling intake vent with special care because it had been sealed all around its edges. When the work was totally completed, there was absolutely no visibile indication that the vent screen had been removed, and it was back into place just as tight and clean looking as before. Overall, the project proceeded exactly as expected.
Description of Work: Cost = $425 standard forced air duct cleaning (included 15 vents) plus 2 additional vents at $15 each = $455 plus sales tax (9.5%) = $498.22 total. This amount corresponds exactly as represented to me per phone estimate prior to service. Technician arrived at 7 a.m., and finished up by 10:30 a.m. Duct cleaning included the placement of a vacuum hose and brush placed into the the vents inside house being pushed through the vent passages out toward toward furnace. I requested this work to be done prior to the installation of a Trane CleanEffects whole house air filtration system. (I chose the Trane option to match the already existing Trane Forced Air Furnace installed in the house by the contractor, William Buchan, who built the house.)
