R & L did a fantastic job. I couldn't be happier, and frankly, the entire transaction couldn't have gone more smoothly. We contacted them via email after finding them on Angie's List. They were able to come out within a week to provide an estimate and shortly thereafter for critical measurements. The had the new windows custom-made within 3 weeks and installed all 7 of them within a day. The project turned out beautifully, and the entire work area was spotless when they finished up. I"m extremely pleased with the quality of the windows and the warranty. Hopefully I won't need their services, but if I do, I'd call on them again in a heartbeat.

Appt made for 9am on a Monday. 9am rolls by with no arrival. I give it a few minutes and at 916a I call the office and advise them someone was coming to measure and do a quote at my place and they hadn't arrived yet. They said, not sure where she could be, then they give me the number of the person to call myself. I called and got voice mail, left a message. I get a call right back from her stating she was at my door at 9am and there was no answer and that she left flyers. While on the phone I walk out my front door and there are no flyers, I tell her no flyers here and state my complete street address to her. She said I am turning around now. She shows up 20 minutes later and the first thing out was stating her nav took her right back to the other house again.. by now it's just about 10am. She measures, it takes us aboit 15 minutes ... she leaves a brochure and tells me that her Dad would email me a quote within a couple days. Unclear why she didnt call me when there was no response at the door at 9am. Excuses don't sit well, just own it and move on. Still haven't received the quote or a call. Won't be trying again, apparently business is good and they don't need my money.

I'm not one to write reviews unless the service is something so stellar that it warrants taking the time to write one that might be useful to others. This is definitely one of those cases and I want to applaud the work done by R&L Windows. There was a terrible windstorm that hit the Puget Sound about a week ago that caused much of the north Seattle area to lose power. There were also downed trees and one of those trees just happened to be in the green belt behind my rental home. It came down the side of the house and completely destroyed the window on the main floor. It was a Sunday when I found out about the damage and I was completely devastated knowing that I had tenants moving into the home in 2 weeks. It was also on the main floor which caused me to have a lot of anxiety about the security of the home. I was on Angie's List for about an hour contacting contractors for expedited window replacement and most places would tell me that the window would not arrive for another 4-6 weeks, a timeline that I found unacceptable given my particular circumstances. After nearly giving up for the night, I received an e-mail from Tasha asking about the dimensions of the window (reminder, it's Sunday). I sent over pictures and she quickly (within an hour) responded with what needed to be replaced and an estimate of the work. She was very cognizant of the time frame I was trying to meet as well as the security issue and was also willing to board of the window if we had to wait for the window to arrive. She went out to the property next day, measured the window, confirmed it was a stock size that could be installed the next day (not 2 weeks, not 4 weeks etc from other quotes I received). Tasha and her team did an excellent job with installation, got the color right without me confirming and did it so quickly! From first contact to installation and final billing, I would absolutely highly recommend R&L Windows!

We decided not to go with this vendor. He had somone (daughter) come out and measure the windows, then provided a quote several days later. His quote mentioned that are windows may/may not be an extra $100 per window depending on the current windows and what trim would be needed. I found it frustrating that this wasn't taken into consideration during the initial visit to my home, and decided to go with someone else who was able to provide a complete bid. In the grand scheme of things, this is probably a minor gripe, and so I've given them a B overall.

Absolutely 100% pleased and satisfied by Randy and R & L Windows. Randy recommended Comfort Design, Architectural Series line of windows. I am blown away with the quality, the look, the aesthetics, the performance, and the price. I am so happy we went with Randy and his suggestion. We replaced over 30 windows within the entire house with original windows from 1958. Absolutely stunning to look at. These windows transformed our home in such a significant way. Randy's crew were great. John and his team have dozens of years experience installing windows. Single handedly, the best investment we've ever made for a home. I would use Randy and Comfort Design, Architectural line over and over again. What a transformation!

Randy and his crew did an excellent job! Randy came up to Bellingham from Everett 3 weeks ago to measure and assess the job for an estimate. I received a very competitive estimate from him the next day, and even though we didn't qualify for the coupon discount on Angie's List, he offered us a 10% discount on the bid. He then sent us a revised contract and ordered the glass. His crew came on time on April 21, were very polite and efficient, and finished the work in a little over two hours, even though we thought it would take 4 hours. They were very professional, did a great job, and cleaned up after the work. Randy wasn't able to make it here himself, but he checked with me by phone several times to make sure everything was going well. He also knew that we were very concerned about possible leaks after the installation, not because of the windows, but because we had just suffered through almost a month of interior damage problems caused by a poor roof replacement job. He therefore instructed the crew to double caulk all seals on the skywall. We have had some major rains since the installation, including later that same day, and everything is tight and looks great!

In working with R and L Glass I felt disappointed, a little threatened and very frustrated: We were told that the process would take about five hours. The men left after two hours. Two men came to the house (not Randy, the contact I'd been working with after finding him on Angie's List) and began removing the old windows. As my husband and I were leaving to let them do their work we noticed that there was mold in the window frame of the first window they'd removed. We asked if they were going to get rid of the mold. One of the guys said "No, we're just going to go over the top of that." He went on to say that any wood work would cost an additional $200/hour. We asked if they could at least spray some of the Killz (a primer) on it that we happened to have around the house. He did us that "favor." Again, the men left after just over two hours- the original time estimate was five hours. We arrived and were checking the work before we signed the papers and one of the windows would not open. One of the guys began jerking at the window until the whole seal came away and they had to reseal, reset and fix the previously inoperable window. On later inspection, we saw that they had put seal and caulking over the chipped paint around the window- it looks sloppy. I contacted Randy since, aside from the sloppy caulking job, we were concerned about the mold that they would not remove before installing the new windows (mold grows!) I was wondering who they expected to take care of the mold in the window frame besides the person installing new windows. I suppose we are supposed to hire someone else who would remove the windows, clean the mold and then re-install the windows that we paid R and L Glass thousands of dollars to install. After some discussions with Randy, he told me, ultimately, that I could contact small claims court. He was actually yelling at me. I had my husband call him and Randy then agreed to meet me at the house so he could remove a window to see the extent of the mold. My husband, who would be working that day, asked Randy not to bring the original installers, as I felt threatened by them, especially since I had complained about the work they refused to do. Randy ended up arriving an hour earlier than the agreed appointment time with "the guys." I was not there because he was early- he was aware that we were not yet living at the location. He said they cleaned up the caulking a little and left. And that was that. I couldn't tell any difference after they'd "cleaned up the caulking." He did not remove any windows to check the mold as he originally agreed to do. I wish I had spent my hard-earned money elsewhere as Randy's company did the very minimum and could cost us big in the long run. Also, who likes to be yelled at?

After a number of other window repair companies came out, looked at our job, and said the entire bay window would need to be replaced, Randy Lavalle, the owner of R&L Windows came to a very different conclusion. The balances would need to be replaced and, contrary to what another specialist had insisted, the round balances required for this window were still being manufactured and were available on the market. Randy's team did the work, the outcome is perfect, and a job that could have cost thousands (had we listened to the advice of others) cost just a few hundred dollars. I'd recommend R&L Windows both for their expertise and for their integrity.

Randy and his team were great. I work and he was very accomodating of my schedule when we met for him to measure the windows. He arrived early, was very efficient in measuring and I had the bid the next day! His bid was lower than the other 4 bids I recieved. In additon he estimated window delivery weeks ahead of the others. The windows came in on time and he sceduled the install right away. The workmanship was superb. I will use Randy to replace the other windows in the house in 2015 and recommend him to my friends.

Randy and his crew were very helpful. While many companies wanted to sell an entirely new window and frame for the windows with a failed gas seal, Randy provided an alternative option. Since the existing vinyl frames are in good condition an option to replace the glass was offered as a solution. This was a much more affordable option than replacing the entire window and frame. Two double hung windows installed replacing two picture windows. The work was well done. The crew was pleasant. Randy is informative and prompt in his communication. I am very pleased with the new glass and double hung windows.

Randy is a great person to work with. At the estimate, he was very straightforward with me about the project and didn't try to oversell his services or try to get me to buy more than I needed. After giving him the go ahead, the windows were custom ordered. They were installed the day after the windows were ready because Randy happened to have some availability in his schedule, so I am incredibly grateful for that. His crew of three came out and did a great job! Everyone was very nice and well mannered, and they did a good job of cleanup. The window install went very smoothly and quickly overall. I'm definitely going to be using R&L to replace the remainder of our windows next spring.

Randy, the owner, is an amazing fellow. I have used their service 5 times. It is always the same crew that comes out. It is comforting to know who I will be dealing with. They are very accomodating and clean up after themselves. I am able to pick the installation date. The windows are manufactured in the Seattle area which I really appreciate. I will be using them again. I highly recommend them.

They did a great job replacing windows and doors in my house. Very responsive, gave us the best bid. Managed to finish work in one day. One of the windows screens had a ding that we noticed next day after the installation. Randy responded quickly, ordered a new screen promptly and got it delivered to our house. We would definitely use them again.

Came gave bid, ordered windows they put them in within a couple weeks. Great job, nice people.

Randy was very professional, always quick to respond, gave us a great price. His crew did all the work within one day and cleaned up after themselves. A couple of screens had dings on them that we noticed next day after careful inspection. Randy promptly ordered new ones from the manufacturer and sent them to our house. We will definitely use them again.

We searched a long time for our ?dream? front door and coordinating screen door. At last it arrived & was ready for installation. We had contacted Randy previously, and when we needed exact measurements to place the order, Randy came out and communicated with the manufacturer over the phone. Randy and his team came out the day after we picked up our doors. Terry & Billy spent almost the entire day working on our installation. They were methodical and careful, and worked around the somewhat off-kilter door opening we didn?t know we had until it was all exposed. They faced little to no ?wiggle room? since our front door is flush against a perpendicular exterior wall on one side & brick wainscoting on the other. Not only did Terry and Billy make it work, they even took the time to add an Arts-and-Crafts style detail on the interior molding that really finishes the look for us. Randy supervised on-site, but left the majority of the installation to Terry and Billy, who did a phenomenal and expert job. A couple of little items needed to be tweaked, but a call to Randy resulted in an immediate call back and a visit the next morning that easily resolved the issue. Our new door is solidly placed and we couldn?t be happier. Eventually we?ll be replacing a sliding glass door and there?s no question who we?ll call.

Quality small business who gives personal service through out the process. The whole thing went very well and I got what I paid for.

It's such a bother writing reviews but I wanted to give my endorsement for R&L. From the beginning, Randy (?) the estimator was a straight shooter. Not a sales pusher (like one of the top rated window installers on Angie's List who put on quite a performance/sales pitch) at all, which was a breath of fresh air. Installation went smoothly and the windows are still nice after a year. The team was pretty efficient and seemed to do a good job. The only criticism I have is that two of the installers broke some piece in two of the windows (the part that keeps the singe hung window up when you open it) and blamed it on the window company, which seemed kind of lame. Anyway, overall it was a good installation and we ended up getting another job done with them (for a total of 11-12 windows) that we love. The selection of windows is limited -- I think just a local window manufacturer in Tacoma -- but we are still pleased with the quality and are planning to get about 10 more windows done this summer!

CAME TO DO AN ASSESSMENT BUT NEVER SENT A QUOTE ALTHOUGH ONE WAS PROMISED. I CALLED TO SEE IF THERE WAS A PROBLEM BUT NEVER HEARD BACK. I GUESS MY JOB (2 SMALL WINDOWS AND A SLIDING GLASS DOOR) WAS TOO SMALL. UPDATE: Following the posting of my review, Randy Lavalle of R&L contacted me by phone with an apology for failing to follow up. I was told that the sales manager who had come to do the assessment had been fired. My case was not a first. Because I had already committed to work with another firm, I accepted the apology and thought that that was the end of the story. A few days later I received a card apologizing again and a Costco gift card. In the card, Lavelle said "I've bult this company from ground up and only want the best employees. No job is ever too small." The gift card was to make up for my inconvenience. As an employer, I understand the problem of staff that let you down. Mr. Lavalle seems to have taken care of the problem. I leave to others to evaluate this story. I have returned the gift card.

Randy responded quickly and efficiently to our call, and provided two estimates: one to just replace with double pane glass (which was cheaper) and one to replace with an opening window with screen (which we chose). We appreciated getting the two options. Though our window was a custom, odd-sized window, he quickly figured out what was needed. His measurements were exact, so that the installation 2 weeks later (after custom window was ordered) was super quick. He and his crew were all friendly, reliable, and professional. We would use them again (former owners had already replaced the other windows using another company). We preferred Randy's estimate and expertise.

We are finally satisfied with this work.

Randy is terrific! He was the ONLY provider I contacted (out of four total) who actually returned my call and he contacted me on a Saturday. We scheduled for him to come by my house to do a "critical measure" the following Monday. He was on time, did the measure, provided me with a bid and sent me an email that evening giving me the heads up that he had ordered the unit. I got a call from Randy on Thursday letting me know the glass unit was in and we scheduled for he and his colleague to do the install the next day! On install day, Randy was running a little behind schedule (no big deal for me!) but he was perfect in giving me a call with his estimated time of arrival. He was spot on, did the tough install (my door didn't have much play for him to get it out of the door frame), completely cleaned up all the debris (there was a TON of glass pieces) and was out of here in about an hour.

His work team (2 people) showed up at the agreed time - although it had been raining that morning, the rain had stopped and so the work commenced to remove and replace three panes in the garden window. His work crew set up, did the replacement, cleaned up and left within an hour and a half. The rain held off until they were finished. Both guys were polite and professional and safely replaced the glass. The glass replacement has a 5 year installation warranty as well as a 10 year warranty for the panes themselves. We are pleased with the entire job (from estimate through completion).
