The apple tree was uprooting and falling over. After checking Angies list, I selected two tree removal companies with high ratings that were located near my home. Northwest Arbor care responded immediately, coming out within an hour to give an estimate. The tree was removed the next day for what I consider a very reasonable price. Most of the tree was chipped and removed. Responsiveness was the key. It was fast and painless and I could check that project off my list in the blink of an eye.

I have never hired a company to do work on my trees before so have no reference to compare the work to and have no knowledge about how to prune trees. Mark was quick to respond to my email and was able to make an estimate on a Sunday and perform the work the following Tuesday. I appreciate his promptness and ability to do the work with such short notice. We were having work done to our deck and our house painted so were in a bit of a rush. The two trees are no longer touching the house and are thinned out which allows more sun in our yard and will make them safer in a wind storm. I was under the impression that Mark's crew would remove the limbs that were growing over the house, I guess I misunderstood him and he was only planning on trimming them back. I was also under the impression that more of the limbs would be removed all the way back to the trunk instead of just cut mid branch. My estimate was quick and I assumed or misunderstood the specific work Mark's crew was doing. Another estimate that I had was going to raise the crown of the tree and only cost $15 more than Mark's estimate. I am now wishing that I had gone with that company. Mark's crew left a large branch touching/hanging over a child's play structure. I spent about an hour cutting off that branch myself plus other branches that I could reach that I thought should be removed. $500 is a lot of money to me and I wish I had had a few more bids and understood exactly what was going to be done to the trees.

Crew arrived on time and went right to work. They were very efficient and cleaned throughout the day. They stopped to talk to us about options and asked us about how we specifically wanted certain trees to be cut. They left the yard clean.

Everything was done right and on time. They removed everything and cleaned up afterwards. I asked to keep the large rounds, which they stacked up for me.

Mark gave an estimate and his team delivered. However, we did have a few snags. First, we agreed on lowering the hedges by 4', but his team lowered them by 7'. Not a huge deal, but my neighbors will be able to see into my back yard from their bedroom windows for a while. No I must say, that despite the error in height, his team was the most skilled team to trim these hedges to date (it's hard to find good help when you've got hedges this big). Their work on the inside walls was excellent: they were the first team to ever get the walls flush. The top of the hedge wall was not level in a few places. Mark came out to collect payment and inspect the job the day after the work was completed. His team was supposed to come out the next day and fix it up, but they didn't have time. It's been another week, and Mark still hasn't had a chance to have his guys fix the problem, but he's telling me they'll get it done next week. I'm hoping that's the case. Lastly, the team did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. BUT, they did drop a lot of debris from the hedges into garden below, squishing quite a few plants. No plants were killed, but they'll take a few weeks to recover from the trauma.

They did a great job! I talked with Mark after the job was completed and mentioned that I wanted a few more branches removed. He sent his crew out a few weeks later to take care of it. He went above and beyond the call of duty! I would highly recommend NW Arbor Care!

The next morning, the crew showed up promptly at 8 am as scheduled. They worked until around 11 a.m. taking down two trees and thinning three others. The crew was friendly and accomodating; stopping their work when we ask them to move their "chipper truck" so we could get our cars out of the garage. They were careful to drop the branches and tree sections onto a gravel drive next to our garage, rather than onto the lawn and a newly seeded area closeby. They also worked around our phone and electric wires. When they finished, they neatly stacked the wood on the gravel area and cleaned everything up beautifully. Mark returned as they finished to make sure everything was good, and then contacted someone who would haul the wood away at no cost. We were very pleased with the entire process.

It all went great! I got the bid from Mark, at Northwest Arbor Care on a Thursday and he was out there the following Tuesday to do the work! I had been concerned about getting a permit from the City of Kirkland, to take down the tree at my residence (having had problems with this,with the city, before) but on that Friday, Mark went down to the Kirkland City Hall, got the permit request, filled it out and left it at my house. All that I had to do was sign it, and return it to City Hall. And the work was great. I had a few questions, after the job was finished and Mark was nothing but responsive.

It went great. The estimate was tweaked a bit because we added on the limbing up of the hemlock and a couple stumps ground. The crew came out a few days after the estimate was made and agreed on. They took about 1 1/2 hours in our side yard to tear down, chip up, haul away and clean up the area. The stump grinding happened later that day, with just the stump grinder guy coming out on his own. The next week, he came out again to grind another 2 stumps that were missed near the garage, and a stump that we added as an after thought (we decided to cut down a large over grown rhody). The yard was left tidy, and we we pleased with the work.

Mark came out to the house to give an estimate the same day I called. He scheduled the job for the same week. When the day arrived, he called in the morning, asked if they could push the work out a few more days (due to heavy rains, he thought the crew would make a mess in the yard with the mud, etc.) We agreed, although the rain really didn't let up much over the next few days. Mark's crew showed up in the morning, on time. I wasn't around, but my husband said the crew worked quickly. When I got home that day, I found that the crew had cleaned up all the branches. Plants around the area they were working were undamaged. They did excellent work and I feel we really got our moneys worth. Only concern relates to the Angies List discount. When I mentioned to Mark that I thought there was a discount, he said it was only for jobs over $1000. (Ours was about $700) I'm very happy with the price we were given, but later when I went back to the web site, it does say "10% discount for over $500." If this is an error in the advertisement, it should be corrected. It wouldn't keep me from recommending Mark's company or using his services again.

Great experience. Mark arrived at the promised time with the crew and equipment required to do the job. Started out with a walk-around review of the work to be done and the rest was just watching some fine professionals do a great job. They did a thorough cleanup and another walk around to ensure we were satisfied.

They were very good. They came the same day we called. They were honest. They had good follow up. They stated I shouldn't pay until I was completely satisfied. They did a very good job. They cleaned up very well, you would have never known they were here.

Nathan came out on time on Monday for an estimate, said he would be back to cut on Wednesday. When I came back from work Wednesday the trees were removed as if they were never there...meaning everything was cleaned up and carted away. Others charged extra for wood removal, he did not. I went to the town hall to get the tree permits (it was literally a 10 minute visit to the office to fill get the paper approved).

Excellent. Mark came out at his scheduled appt time, gave me an estimate, and performed the work later that same day. I highly recommend this company.

They underbid every other tree care service by almost half for the job. They took the tree down, ground the stump, felled the tree across the yard into my cul-de-sac, cut it up, and were gone in 45 minutes. It was a 60-feet tree. They came back the next day to ground out the stump roots they'd missed the day before (but it wasn't their fault). I was very impressed by their work. It was a fair price, and they were very pleasant to deal with.

It went very well. I called the owner, Mark and he came out later that day to give a bid. Since our job was small he was able to take care of it the next day. He made it easy for me.

Fairly well. Not all the logs were cut into 18" rounds and the rounds were scattered all over. Some damage to lawn and nearby shrubs. However, they were on time and were able to complete the job in one day. Due to schedule conflicts, the forman did not walk through the final sign off with us.

Very well -- had to reschedule due to an earlier job going long, but not a big deal. Very professional and excellent work done.

They were fast, efficient, came early (!) and the area looked good when they were done. I had not paid, so the owner stopped by on his way home to get the check. Nice, nice people!

There were a number of people knocking on my door offering to trim the trees, but they were unable to verify that they were licensed or insured. I consulted Angie's List and found NorthwestArbor Care. He showed up exactly when he said he would in the company truck, and he was very professional. I did not even have to be here, but they cleaned up extremely well after themselves. They were very fast, and I just came home and the trees were done--you wouldn't have known they were there except the trees were trimmed. They stuck to their quote, and I was very happy with their service.

The bid Mark Griffiths gave was very competitive. He had his crew there on time and they safely performed all the work. They were efficient and neat about the job. They left the rounds, as per our agreement, and our neighbors are removing them to age for firewood. After the tree removal crew left, the person who grinds the stumps came. The entire job was completed within 3.5 hours. They used a blower to clean the driveway and raked the yard. I was very impressed.
