In less that 45 minutes, had my garage door working perfectly again. Overall, it was a job well done! I will definitely keep their card on hand in case a neighbor needs their door fixed.

Broke garage door spring Friday night. Did research online and figured it's a job best left to professionals. Did my search at Angie's list and decided to go with Barron's. Called Saturday morning at 7:45 AM and set up appointment for 10-10:30 AM same day. They arrived around 10:35 AM or so and it would have been perfect if they would have called to say they were running a little late but no big deal. They got to work right away. They weighed the garage door then proceeded to remove the old broken springs. They installed the new springs and that was done in about 20 minutes or so. I figured they were done but they went ahead and started checking and lubricating the rollers and adjusting the guides and the motor which I took it as a tune-up. I figured they would just install the springs and I would have been happy but they made sure everything was working just fine. Very satisfied overall and I don't think you can beat their price which came out to $158 and change with tax included. Most definitely recommend if your garage spring breaks which I figure only happens every 10-15 years.

One of the two springs on our door broke. After researching the repair and deciding it was doable but hazardous, we called Barron (on a Sunday afternoon) to get an estimate. We were told replacing the springs would cost $145 plus tax, and they could be out the next day. Mike arrived at the promised time and got right to work. He was careful to ensure he had the right springs, and had the new ones installed within 30 minutes. He then did a very thorough job of inspecting and tuning the door. He found some bad rollers and replaced them at just a few dollars apiece. He recommended and we approved moving the opener's safety sensors in order to keep their wires from being damaged by the moving door. The total bill was just over $180 including tax. We were very satisfied and will be sure to call Barron again if we have future garage door needs.

What a great experience. We called Barron based on other Angie's List reviews. Got a quote, they came right out and did a great job fixing the door. When the job was finished the bill was exactly what was quoted. They even lubed the other door that did not need fixing. This is a GREAT company.

He was very professional, quick and a pleasure to talk with after the job had been completed. I would highly recommend anyone to call on his services.

First, I'd say that I would not hesitate to use Mr. Barron again. Very knowledgeable, honest and efficient. No scam here, unlike some of the other reports I've read. He owns the business with his son, has an investment in his reputation, and so provides high quality work at a reasonable cost. I was very pleased with his work and how quickly the issue was resolved. I initially emailed him to set up a time, but he never responded. I called after that and got a hold of him right away. I'd say that Mr. Barron is one of those providers who probably doesn't use email much, so give a call instead of emailing.

Recently, I went out to open the garage doors; one spring and attaching hardware exploded. Called for help. Jim Barron responded on a Sunday. We accepted his estimate based on Angie's Ratings. They arrived as scheduled, exactly on time, and replaced both doors. I ask him why he was rated so high on Angie's List. He stated that he charges a fair price, works hard and does a good job. In fact, he did charge a fair price, he and his son did work hard but rather than just a good job....They did a perfect job!......We love our new garage doors!

From start to finish, we were impressed by his professionalism and integrity. These are the kinds of businesses that deserve our patronage.

Called at 8am from work,came home at 2pm and the job was done.You can't beat that!

Mr. Barron's son came out on Memorial Day for no extra cost. He was very thorough and efficient.

Called on Saturday. Came to fix on Monday @ 10am. Prompt, did work, pleased.

Both times the jobs were well done and completed on scheduled.

Several weeks before 11/2 we had scheduled him to replace a garage door opener. 1/2 hr before he was supposed to come he called and canceled. He has not returned calls to reschedule. We have now found someone else. Follow up report: We were told by Barron that our garage door opener could not be repaired and would have to be replaced. A new opener would have cost over $300. When they did not show to do the work we contacted another company. They said the opener was fine and did not need to be replaced. They replaced a faulty switch with a new one (cost $22). I now question the ethics of Barron.

Jim Barron Tuned and Lubricated both doors, replaced faulty parts, replaced the seals on the bottom of doors, showed me how to make some adjustments on my own if needed, and was able to provide hand units even though these were old doors. Units are no longer made but he had used ones that were better and smaller to use with these garage openers. He is a no-nonsense guy, confident with many years of experience. He did fine work and I would definitely call him again if or when needed. There is no reason to call anyone else as far as I am concerned. Very good work, nice guy.

The Barron mechanic who came (sorry I didn't get the name), came when agreed, and not only fixed the garage door opener that kept jamming on us, he completely tuned up and lubricated both doors so they both now operate more smoothly and quietly than they ever have before. And to top it off, the mechanic found a garage door brace stored on a shelf that I had bought for one of the doors many years ago to fix a sag in the door which I had forgotten about. He got our permission and replaced the brace so that the larger door is better and straighter than it ever was since we bought the house. He also replaced misc parts on the doors while he was doing the general tune-up. This all took several hours, and the charge? $120. Superb service for a great price!

They showed up precisely on time, came in, did their work swiftly and for a reasonable price. They seemed knowledgeable and gave me advice on how to maintain the doors myself. They did a great job and I recommend them.

It went well until I asked if he would come and take the final measurements, and provide me with the price and details of the work to be accomplished in writing, hard copy or email. He refused on both..

I made three calls. The first company (not on Angie's list) came the next day and provided an estimate that was higher than I anticipated. The second company did not return my call until the next day. Barron owner answered the phone, gave me a specific quote over the phone, showed up on time the next morning and completed the job. I saved $175 over the first company and about $100 over the other. Excellent company, father and son duo.

The owner called his son who came out the same day. He changed out the springs and then asked if I would like the garage door to open a little higher. I said, "sure." He made those adjustments and then worked on getting it to open easily and smoothly, something it hadn't done in a while. This is an 18 year old garage door opener and probably a 25 year old garage door. He replaced two of the side wheels that run in the side tracks, saying that they were worn out. He also tightened all the bolts holding the door together and greased all the hinges and springs. It hadn't occurred to us that the garage door needed such maintenance. By the time he left out door glided open with a purr. For years it's rattled and groaned when asked to open. I waited for the bill to see what it would say but it was the original quote. The young man was very pleasant to have around. This company believes in Service with a capitol S!

They did a great job, they were reasonably priced, and they were very prompt. They were a lot of help and they answered all the questions we needed. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone that asks.

Came for estimate, found doors oversized, spring not in stock. Returned call next day to explain that simple replacement was not possible, offered alternative. Installed same day. Tuned up garage door opener at no extra charge.

Called late when it happened. He answered the phone, gave a price, and set appointment for the next day. He arrived in the time window arranged and efficiently repaired (replaced) the garage door spring. Also oiled the door parts, so it runs much better (smoother and quieter) than it did before. Clearly knowledgeable.

Best money I've spent in a long time. Probably added years to the life of the door, motor and chain. BRAVO!
