They did a very good job in the installation of the gas line because it was difficult to get the gas line to where my fireplace is. They were able to do it with very minimal amount of rework of the wall board. I appreciated that and they worked with me very well on that. I would definitely use them in the future if needed.

They did contact us right away and said that there must have been a mistake when we were quoted $150.00 just to come out and diagnose the issue. They were very apologetic and offered to come out for free. Tech was very friendly and gave us some pointers about the unit and all is working well as of now. Thank you!

Mgr came over to give a quote on a new gas fireplace insert. Said he could beat my other 3 quotes (of ~$3500-4000) by as much as $1000, however, I ultimately paid more than all of the other quotes and got a base-model unit that didn't have the features I requested (i.e., electronic pilot, fully functional remote that turns on and off fan/flame and that turns fan/flame up and down; also, I had wanted an efficiency rating sufficient to get the PSE rebate and save money on my heating bills). I was dazzled by Sundance's excellent rating on Angies List, so I wasn't as careful as I should have been. All of my other quotes included these features for a lower price. I would recommend that you write the features that you think you are buying right on the contract, rather than just writing the model, so there is no misunderstanding (the website confused the issue when I went online to confirm the features). Also ask them to itemize the quote so that you can more easily compare unit cost and install cost with other quotes. Install Problem: I had the fireplace previously swept but the chimney sweep wasn't able to clean around the old, heavy wood-burning insert, so there was quite a bit of soot in the firebox when Sundance pulled out the old insert. In spite of this they went ahead and installed the new gas insert. The heat from the gas insert caused the soot in the firebox to smoke. The smoke was unable to escape out the chimney due to the sealed chimney cap, so instead, it seeped into the living room around the edges of the new insert, causing a noxious odor and setting off the smoke alarms. They initially said that I just needed to burn off some residue, but smoke alarms continued to go off, even with all the doors and windows open, and with 7 fans running on high. They eventually came back and pulled the insert so that I could pay to have the firebox cleaned a second time. Then they came back and reinstalled the insert. However, it still set off the smoke alarms even with the second cleaning, so I suggested that they remove the sealing material around the chimney cap and put insulation "rope" around the edges of the insert instead, so that the heated smoky air could rise out the chimney rather than into my living room. They eventually agreed to do this, and I haven't had any problems with smoke in the livingroom since then. On a positive note, the manager was quite responsive to the smoke problem and didn't charge me for the re-installation and multiple repeat visits. The annoyance is that it cost me a lot of vacation time to meet them several times at the house, extra money for the second sweep (my responsiblity I suppose), and I lost out on the $200 PSE rebate and heat savings that I would have gotten with a more efficient model. Overall, I paid a little more than I needed to and got a little less in features. Looks nice though--it's on nearly all the time now.

We were extremely satisfied. The sales person came out and made some suggetions but provided no pressure at all. He was also able to expedite the installation of the tankless water heater so that we could take advantage of the rebate which was very close to the expiration date. The crew was on time and very professional. We would definitely recommend them and would use them again if a need should arise.

Last year, I called them in November and was told there wasn't probably an opening before the first of the year. Fair enough, although the woman I spoke with wasn't killing me with kindness as a prospective customer, either. This year, again, because they've had good ratings through Angie's List, I sent an email through their website in October, because their site said, "For more information and a QUICK response...". How about NO response. Nada. It's now November 18.I understand that this is the busy time of year for these businesses. Totally get it. However, the least I would expect is a reply saying, "We really value you as a customer, and we're at our peak time this season. Please allow us to call you to schedule an appointment at a later time." Or SOMETHING.I'm looking elsewhere.

We were very pleased with the initial responsiveness of the company representatives and technicians. However, it took longer than expected for the installation. Some parts which were sent from the supplier were missing and had to be reordered. No one inventoried the parts before coming out for the installation. The custom surround took extra time, as expected. Then the fireplace did not work as we expected...there was hardly any flame showing. I called Sundance and was told to turn up the gauges. When this didn't work, I called again and a technician came out and discovered that since it was a propane-powered fireplace, that this particular model required a conversion kit to increase the flame. So the kit was ordered and installed. The fact that we had to use propane was included on the work order, so this conversion kit order should have been taken care of before the initial installation.

I called them, they understood the concern. This was an intermittent problem about once a month since February 2011 (see my report on Alpha Heating). I described the problem, the error code (pressure switch), and the steps we had to take to get the furnace to work when it had this problem (turn off breaker, remove tube, blow in end of it to unstick the pressure switch). They came out about a week later (this wasn't an emergency, so I didn't press for anything sooner). They could have been a little quicker on some of the callbacks (had to have them make an authorization call to our warranty people so they would be covered), but the most important thing was they understood the problem, they had the part on their truck, and so they got the job done in one visit. They knew the unit, too--said it was prone to this problem, for models manufactured within a certain time range. Apparently, ours was one of those. Working great now!

Everything was very favorable. They were honest and trustworthy. The work was done per code and it was satisfactory.

Contacted Sundance to annual maintance on Gas appliances. The service technician arrived on time. Perfomed maintenance on furnace and cleaned filter. Check hot water heater. Cleaned the gas fireplace with an insert.

Well, though it took a long time.

As usual, working with this company is a pleasure. They've been checking and servicing the heating and cooling plant in our home for more than 10 years. In addition, they've installed a water heater for us. I don't know that they're always the lowest price service provider in our area (Redmond), but they've always been professional, thorough, courteous, and reliable. In my book, that kind of consistency and quality service is worth a few extra bucks. Good company.

The end result is a very nice looking fireplace insert, but the process of getting there was needlessly prolonged and punctuated with incompetence. Nancy Cunningham in customer service was a glaring exception to the general rule, however.

The company was easy to work with from scheduling, to showing up on time for the estimate, to showing up on time with all materials in hand to do the job. Paul was professional, thorough, and efficient, and didn't mind my questions or observations.

I just bought house and wanted to make sure everything was OK with furnace, water heater, gas fireplace. They came out and did the work in three sessions. Paul is very meticulous. Took his time to do the work well.

We had a couple of people come out and give us a quote and we went with Sundance Energy because we liked their price. They installed an energy efficient furnace and they did a good job with the installation. Unfortunately we did have a problem. They had to vent it outside our garage but it was put outside our bedroom window. It was very loud and every night we could hear the sound. We called them several times and it took a very long time for them to come out and fix the problem. I got a bit angry as they did not respond quickly. They should have come out right away and fixed the problem.

They are fine and they have done a good job with the work that they have done for me. They are reasonably priced.

I made an appointment by phone, and they gave me a specific time (not a window). The technician that came was prompt, courteous and helpful. when he had to leave to get a part, he returned quickly and cleaned up thoroughly. The office staff were super nice even when there was a problem with my debit card not working properly.

I spent about $4000 for their service and it went good. They did a very fast job and cleaned up everything. I have used them in the past and would use them in the future too.

He was very good. He showed me how to change the filters and put in spillway filters so I don't have to clean the one that's in there but I can buy one every other month. He said that would keep the air quality much better here because both my husband and daughter have allergy. He was very patient and very nice. I've had different ones coming from Sundance and they all have been nice. He was here about for hours and gave a good service. I was very much impressed with them. They were reasonable.

Sundance had previously installed a gas fireplace insert for us in Nov 2010 using existing gas piping. Sometimes we smelled natural gas when the unit was on, so we realized we might have a slow gas leak. We called to have Sundance inspect it. Since the gas lines were behind drywall and they had not been installed by Sundance, the estimator had to take a blind guess about what might be wrong. He wrote an original estimate of $770 assuming a fairly complex 4-hour repair to the gas line would be needed. We paid the deposit amount so we could get on the schedule, and he told us someone would call the next day to schedule the repair. A few days went by without a call, and we had to call them twice before they scheduled our work. When time came to repair the leak, it turned out that the problem was quite simple, requiring only about 30 minutes of labor and a single replacement part. Despite the fact that the work was much simpler and fewer parts were needed than originally thought, they initially charged us $770 for the repair, per the original estimate. Upset about this, we called to ask them to reconsider the charges since the work performed was different than the work assumed when the estimate was written. After going back and forth over the phone, they revised their charge to $550. Thinking this was still high, we asked another contractor what he would have charged for this specific task. He said the part they installed should have cost no more than $130 and the total expense should have been about 2-3x the cost of the part. After a couple more phone calls to Sundance with no further progress, we wrote an initial review on Angie's list faulting Sundance for their price and complaining about their lack of responsiveness to our concerns. They saw that review and contacted us to remedy the situation, offering to bring their price in line with the estimate provided by the other contractor. We think the way they handled the situation shows noteworthy professionalism on their part, and we gladly revised our review to reflect their efforts to make things right. We think the final price was fair, the work was high quality, and the desire to make the situation right in the end merited "A" grades for price, quality, and professionalism. That said, the experience wasn't perfect - they showed up late for both the estimate and the repair itself, plus were slow to fully resolve to our price concerns. We still feel that grades of "C" for punctuality and "B" for responsiveness are deserved for this specific experience. We do realize that sometimes things just aren't perfect. We can say that our past experience with Sundance (in which they installed a gas fireplace insert for us) was an across-the-board "A" experience. Overall, we can recommend this company.

I was satisfied with the work done by Sundance Energy SVCS Inc Company. They promptly responded to any issues that came up. The workers were very polite. They were professional. They were prompt. They were punctual. I would recommend Sundance Energy SVCS Inc Company. I received a lot of other quotes but Sundance Energy SVCS Inc Company was top of the line. I’m glad that I got to work with them. I would do business with them anytime.

I don’t remember how much I paid. I know it was reasonable. They were good in everything. I had no issues at all with them. I would use their services again in the future.

I have been using them for several years and they are reasonably priced. I feel they are convenient as I have known them for a long time. I like their services and will use the same in future.
