Fritz from Sound Gutters did a excellent job, from the estimate thru completion of the job. I obtained three estimates for the work - all three estimate were very close in price, Sound Gutters was the most expensive - but by only a little (less that $100). In addition to all the great reviews that Fritz received on Angies list, The Leaf Guard system he offers is the attribute that really won the job for Fritz - the competition's products were a foam insert and the fine steel mesh system. In my opinion, the Leaf Guard system looks the best, adds structural integrity to the installed gutter, and hopefully functions the best and is easist to clean. After accepting the bid, I asked for some minor changes - I wanted a little more of the Leaf Guard (at first I was only going to put it on the south side where all the cedars are located), and I wanted to tear off and dispose of the gutters myself so I could paint the fascia boards prior to new gutter installation. I saved about $225 doing the removal and install myself (but it is no small job if you aren't into that kind of work). Fritz did a recalculation and allowed me to update the bid sheet over the phone prior to signing it and sending it in. Fritz was on site at 7am less than a week later and it only took he and his colleague until 12pm to finish the job (since it was just an install for them). They did great work, they had to deal with some funky twists and turns but they made the finished installation look great. There were no extra costs - the bill was equal to the estimate, and Fritz even agreed to honor the Angies List coupon - even though I forgot to tell him I had it before the start of the job as required on the coupon (don't do this - it is a hassle for Fritz).

They showed up about 15 minutes early to start the work and started right away. The work went well. They cleaned up after they were finished and hauled away the old gutters. The job took about 4 hours, just like the owner said it would. He was very polite and professional.

Contacted Sound Gutters after reading reviews from Angie's List. Fritz came out and did a thorough inspection. Offered some suggestions and we hired him to do the job. He came out personally bright and early on installation day and worked with one assistant until the job was complete. The gutters matched what was left of our existing gutters perfectly. All debris was hauled away and the work area cleaned up. Extremely happy with Fritz's professionalism, competence and honesty. Would highly recommend!

I contacted Sound Gutters and spoke with Fritz. He was busy that week but agreed to go out and take a look the following week. He called me with his opinion as to what needed to be done and faxed over an estimate. Final bill was the estimated cost plus tax. They did a really good job, on a job which was out of the ordinary for a lot of roofing contractors. Not many companies want to deal with built in, torch down gutters.

Very good! The quality of their gutters installed is excellent,. The seamless design with no visible screws is nice. Everything was custom made as they did the work and made the gutters as they worked. They (Fritz and his employee) were very professional and they wanted to make sure I was happy with what they did. Fritz did ask me to give it a good look-around after they were done to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. I asked them to make a slight change in the downspout and they were very accomodationg. They were on time, gave me an exact quote which they stuck to and I am sure they were the best possible guys I could have called. I am completely happy with their work.

We thought we wanted new gutters installed on the east and west sides of our house to accommodate rain barrels on the east side. Fritz provided the estimate on that. We then decided on just the east side. Fritz did the work, which looks great!

They explained how a) was not a gutter problem b) made suggestions how to keep the gutter unclogged and gave us an estimate if we did want to shift to a bigger size gutter (if the solutions they offered didn't work). We have used these guys before, and they are the height of professionalism. They do not try to sell what we don't need. They are friendly, and take the time to explain, in detail, what the problem is, not begrudging the fact that for their estimate, they are not getting paid. Not that we hope to have any gutter problems, but if we do, they will be the first we call.

I had custom powdercoated downspouts and custom hardware (which I already had) installed. Great job in every respect, all contact was with the owner who was also there doing the work.

picked this company based on angieslist.com recommendations. even came with a coupon from angielist. Overall it went well. All work was done in 1 day. They accommodated my request to paint the wood behind the gutters after they took down the old gutters on one side of house. New gutters look great. Seamless and simple white.

They did the repair in a timely, professional manner. They had reasonable rates. I would highly recommend them.

Had winter damage to gutters from snow this past year (coming off house). Called Company based on reports from Angie's List. Owner returned call that evening and set up a time to come by to give estimate. Arrived right on time. Gave me estimate. I accepted. He then called me later that evening to set up a time for installation that was convienent to my work schedule. He arrived exactly on time/day as scheduled. Removed all old gutters and replaced new ones, and cleaned up after work. Excellent installation. Payment was exactly as I was estimated. I then purchased from him Leaf Relief gutter protection since I have far to many trees in the area and the gutters get filled yearly, and some are on the second floor and hard to clean. Again, he gave me estimate and scheduled time to install. Once again he arrived right on time/day, and instaled the protectors. Again the price was as exactly estimated, no suprises! Excellent work and clean up - would highly recommend this company to anyone.

We selected a start date. Fritz had to change it but let me know several days in advance and called multiple times to make sure I had received his message. The next date we scheduled Fritz showed up promptly. The work was finished on time, looks great and clean up was outstanding.

Used Angies List to select Sound Gutters for estimate. Called and spoke to Fritz last week. We discussed the project I needed (add downspout and drain pipe to existing gutter system,) He said he would be in my neighborhood this week and set up time to come look at the project. He advised me that the minimum charge for services was $250. He called yesterday morning and arrived at the house shortly after. He looked at the project and instructed his assistant on which ladder and materials they would need. It was clear they knew their work and had worked together for a while. I was amazed at how quickly they did the agreed upon work. They were very helpful in routing the drainpipe to allow for good drainage away from the house. He also replaced a piece of roofing over my deck that had blown off in a storm. professional work, quickly done, appropriate pricing. Would definitely hire again.

They did an excellent job on our gutters. They came to our home and put in some new gutters. The quality is great and it looks great. They were on top of it, and they kept me informed at all times. I am very pleased with the work that was done, and I will continue to use them in the future.

I called Sound Gutters to schedule an estimate for a gutter replacement job. Fritz came by to make an estimate on the job and left it in my door. Because I missed him the day he came, we had several phone conversations about the job. He was incredibly responsive--calling back within the hour of a left message. After we agreed to an action plan for the job, we scheduled the work date. Fritz and his crew showed up, removed the gutters, repaired the rot, cut rotted barge boards, attached the new gutters and relocated a downspout to a better drain area. After the job, I called to ask him back to cut some other rotted barge boards. He agreed and came back to complete the job as I had wished. I now have new gutters, no more rot, and a properly draining roof system. I was very impressed with the punctuality and professionalism in all of the interactions I had with Fritz.

Fritz came to my home and gave me a free estimate, then when given the job, arrived when he stated to complete the work. Everything looks great, the gutters are clean, the replacement matches the old gutters, and they left everything around our house neat. I would certainly use them again in the future!

I requested estimates from 3 Angie's list companies, two returned estimates. Fritz's estimate was almost half that of the other company for what appeared to be the same work and materials. I scheduled with Fritz and he/his team performed the work as scheduled. They left a clean work site and a happy customer. Since this was done on a rental I own, about 35 miles from where I live, I never met Fritz or his workers. I only saw the finished job, but got positive reports from my tenants. I'm quite late filing this report, since the job was done 12/1/08, but I'm finally doing it...

He was professional, pleasant, knowledgeable and did what he said they would do. We found them to very good. I chose him because he got good ratings on Angie's List. I would highly recommend them to others.

They fixed the gutters in two to three days, and I was impressed by their quickness. They patched a corner of our gutter that had a bad leakage. It was a neat job because our gutter doesn't leak anymore.

The elbow installation corrected with excellent result. He had a $250 minimum and the value of the work needed was well below that, so I had him also install brackets on another downspout that rattled in the wind. He was out right away to make a bid and was upfront about the minumum charge. He said he would try to squeeze my little job in between big ones but it took several months and many rainy days before he came back out to do my little job. The quality of the work was excellent, he was honest about what I needed done & the minimum charge and I would definitely hire him again for gutter work but press him for an appointment date.

I talked to Fritz multiple times on the phone. He was always professional and courteous. My largest problem with Sound Gutters was the fact that they would not make an appointment with me to come give me an estimate, nor would they do an estimate over the phone. Fritz would call me and just see if I was available when he was going to be in the neighborhood. With a busy schedule, this made it almost impossible to get an estimate. We finally did, about 2 weeks after I originally called him. When he arrived for the estimate, he was almost 3 hours earlier than he said he would me, and my husband had to rush home. The estimate was a bit high ($400, where the company we eventually went with did the work for $250 and moss treated our roof). Additionally he tried to convince my husband that we needed new gutters and that gutter covers would be best for us (we have a pine needle problem, and gutter covers won't help). However, his estimate on new gutters for our home was incredibly reasonable. If we decide to replace our gutters in the future we will definitely consider Sound Gutters. However it is unlikely we will use them for gutter cleaning.

Overall, the project went very well. I had used Fritz before on our small guest house. The project started right when we got a large amount of snow. Fritz called and rescheduled due to the weather and the holidays but was out first thing in the new year to complete the project in one day. His prior work held up to all the ice and snow so I was happy to have Fritz back to install the gutters on our new house. He arrived at 7am and completed the work quickly. His attention to detail on attaching to brick was appreciated. I would definitely recommend using this contractor.

I was pleased with the work they did. Others weren't willing to do the repair because it was so small. I thought their price was reasonable.

Work went very well. Fritz responded quickly, came out and gave us an onsight quote. We called him later on and asked about putting in a skylight as well. He went out of his way to come out again and look at the sight that we wanted to place the skylight and then got a price quote to us almost immediately. We decided against it not because his qoute was high but because we realized in the end we just didn't have the extra cash for a skylight in these tight times. He arrived on time and took out the old gutters and put up the new ones in about two hours. There was no trash left on sight and everything looked great afterward. Thanks Sound Gutters and Roofing.
