The job took 4.5 days and went smoothly. The two installers were nice guys and the house was kept clean and the outside cleaned up at the end of each work day. I went with the Simonton windows rather than the Milgard windows, due to the lower price and the transferable warranty. The new Simonton windows operate smoothly and look great. I was stupid enough to apply for a permit from the City of Woodinville, despite the three contractors I got bids from telling me I didn't need a permit. The City said otherwise so I applied and then it took 2 months of jumping through ever changing hoops to get them to issue the permit. For my $500+ dollars I got to say that I approved of the work done by the contractor while the City does not approve. This did cause me to research the art of replacing windows more than I had planned to. Had the City been more forthcoming they would have said that the only way they approve a window replacement is if the siding around the window is removed at the same time, and new paper applied around the window. This is not how these jobs are normally done, and would further compromise the water barrier of the house unless all the siding and all of the underlying paper was redone. Meanwhile there are three ways that windows are normally replaced: 1) a cut out and replace with nail fin job, such as Intermountain does, and which is generally considered the best way (but the water seal of the house is now more dependent on the caulking around the window than with the original window is); 2) a screw and glue job where the old window is removed from the inside (very much compromising the exterior water barrier with no remediation possible) and the new window is attached via screws around the window frame (instead of using the nail fin), and 3) a stucco window installed inside the existing window frame (which looks odd and reduces the size of the existing window, and which nobody bid). What impressed me most about Intermountain the most was that they never told me what an idiot I was for contacting the City. They just did their best to work with the City (they said some other cities in the area such as Edmonds, Brier, and Medina do require permits and they do know how replacement windows are installed, and what constitutes a correct installation). So they worked with the inspector and called in the inspection and then dealt with the inspector as best as possible given his unrealistic demands. Another thing I liked about Intermountain was that when I checked their L&I numbers they clearly carry workman's comp and unemployment insurance for their employees, which did not appear to be the case with all of the companies I got bids from.

We were very happy with the service from Intermountain Glass from the first visit, through the measurements and installation. The installation crew arrived on time and completed the project in one day. They cleaned the work area and protected the kitchen and outside from the construction.

This company is top notch! Every person is professional and courteous - from sales to scheduling to measuring and installation, it was a smooth process and an excellent product. After installation, I noticed a gap between the sill and bottom of the door. I called and the receptionist put me through to the owner, Don, and I left him a detailed voice mail and he called me back promptly. Service calls were scheduled and the adjustment was made and my new beautiful door is perfect. Great customer service and an excellent product. Thanks.

The original estimate was for $4559 but was revised to $5495 after final measurements due to the need for a larger crew because of the size of the windows and extra protection of the membrane roof. I agreed to the higher price as the the windows are very heavy and needed to be lifted and installed from the roof. I was told I was getting a slightly lower price than normal because of the error but the price was similar to other bids I received. The company was easy to deal with, sending formal paperwork by email. They scheduled promptly, arranging for two crews. They arrived on time and completed the work in half a day. The windows look great. There was one small problem as a small window had a metal frame removed in error. It was rebuilt to look like the other window frames but now does not open. Again, I agreed to the suggested fix but would have preferred the original which couldn't be replaced with matching due to the style and age. The clean-up could have been a little more thorough as they were in a hurry to get to another job. It appeared they may have been a bit over scheduled. I was really looking to work with a company that was large enough to handle the replacement of wall size windows in the future. I will use them again even though there were some minor issues. I rated them a B because of the change in the bid and the one broken frame. The company does provide a form for feedback.
Description of Work: IMG replaced 7 double pain windows that had broken seals. Some of the windows needed new woodwork at the base. They did make sure that I understood that the low E glass I requested would not match perfectly with the older windows we have not yet replaced.

They knew about their business and did everything very professionally. They took the wood trim off my windows, took the old windows out and disposed them. Then they put new glass in and reinstalled the wood trim very professionally. Their pricing was good. I got a competitive bid and they were about $900 less than the next bid that I got.

Everyone, from the salesman to the person who measured the windows to the installers was on time and professional. They were cheerful, efficient and extremely tidy. After the installation we did a walk-through and opened and closed all the windows and also discussed how the screens could be removed if needed. Our home has three sets of corner to corner windows, and I think this is a challenging installation, but Intermountain had no difficulty with it. All the new trim was pre-primed, which was very helpful in terms of getting the window treatments back up quickly. Their price was extremely competitive and we spoke to a total of four installation companies, including Intermountain. We liked the fact that their own employees install the windows and that the job is not handed off to a subcontractor. We would certainly recommend them.
Description of Work: Intermountain glass replaced all the single-pane widows in our home, which totaled 14. They were of different sizes and widths, with one picture window. The house was built in 1947. The single-pane windows were double hung, but painted shut years ago by the original homeowner. We replaced with double-hung windows. They also replaced an old, rotted exterior sill.

After months of research, we picked Simonton windows, and narrowed down to IMG for their experience with a previous installation in a similar 1950 home with the same sidings like ours. IMG?s bid was in the middle, though the sale was a typical sales job with promises. Sales rep, Jeff, was chatty and ran on. The lead foreman/tech was convincing. We outlined our requirements and expectations. Unfortunately, we should have it written down on the signed contract, only in email communication. IMG's Sales, Foreman, and installation didn't meet our expectations: lack of communication to the installers, between scheduler, sales and lead. A lead foreman came out for pre-sale estimate and inspection but never showed up for the installation; perhaps our $14k project was not big enough. 2 younger installers showed up and had difficulties removing the first window. We were expecting a lead foreman with the experience would kick off the installation. Once they learned the frame/structure, the other windows went smoother. There was another lead foreman that came out but cease to return, after we disagreed with his trimming/framing on the inside. We wanted it clean-line and not step-down trimming as discussed with Sales. So, he never came back. We are happy with the outside installation, however. The owner came out to complete the installation, after a couple of weeks of back/forth. Our home was in limbo during these weeks; furniture moved, covered tarp/blanket, etc. and the project was estimated to complete in 3 days. The owner has attention to details but his staff?s execution still did a poor job with a few windows. We forgo it and signed/paid off to regain our home. The installers insisted that they lose money from this project; this is intimidating and poor customer service. Working with management was equally disappointing. We should have picked their competitor whom is very knowledgeable, a single person pre-sale/owner/estimate/technical, no need to back/forth with the tech lead, nor the manufacture, questions answered on the spot. The drawbacks were distance and no recent experience with a similar home, but this didn?t count much if they send out rookie installers ? do insist on installers that have done the same project before. It has been 6 months and counting, we?ll update this review if any issue shows up, since we have double life warranty.

This company is wonderful to work with, especially if you are a full-time worker yourself. The scheduling and follow up is excellent; they make things easy by doing business via e-mail. We had a pretty big job (for us) to replace 8 windows. They were competitive in price; Jeff (their sales person) did a great job of making suggestions; all in all, an excellent experience. We are very happy with our purchase. UPDATE: This provider contacted us for follow-up on a previously completed window installation. This company is in a class by itself as far as following up to ensure the customer is happy and satisfied with the work they completed. They have been exceptional to work with. I wanted to give them additional praise for making us air and water tight during the most recent Seattle downpours--not an easy task as we live in an older home that sometimes has quirks that make window and door replacement a bit more difficult. Thank you Intermountain Glass--and Don and Jeff!

Most window companies did not have the expertise or willingness to take on such a job. IMG did, and they impressed us with their extensive knowledge and suggestions for replacement. They also gave us several good options for window types and manufacturers. Their bid was reasonable and not outrageous. When the time came to get the work done, we were concerned about the rainy conditions, however it ended up not being an issue as the work got scheduled during a rare spell of dry weather. The work was done very professionally, and went super smoothly. A very very solid job, no problems or issues whatsoever, and we have gone through the entire winter with a beautiful new set of windows. Would not hesitate to use them again.
Description of Work: We needed a complicated kitchen skywall window replacement done. A custom set of skylights needed to be built and installed, and bracing built to support regular windows. This also needed to be done in the winter.

The quality of the product and the quality of the work were all top notch. Cleaned up after themselves. Protected the interior of the home while working on the windows so as not to cause damage. All of the work was completed within a week of starting. They worked all day every business day until the job was completed. Began the job on the day they said they would and finished on the day the said they would be done.
Description of Work: Replaced all of the windows and skylights in the home. In three rooms that meant changing the size of the windows from the originals. This required them to do some framing, siding, interior wood trim and drywall patching. Note: Drywall installed and first coat of mud only. You will need to have a drywall installer in to get to a finish wall ready for paint. Talk to them about how they prevent water infiltration and air infiltration into the home, then talk to other companies how they do it. Intermountain glass does it right. Other companies?????????

We had several companies do quotes on our first round of window replacements a few years ago: Intermountain Glass was the low bidder, and came in and did a fabulous job. When we finally had the budget to replace the rest, we just called them back and skipped the rest. Shane Drollinger is a knowledgeable and patient salesman, with no high pressure tactics as you hear about with other companies. He knows his stuff and has been able to answer all of our questions. Both times the window measurer and install crew (just one guy this time! wow) have been polite, professional, and capable. We have an older house and many things aren't quite straight or square: the new windows look great, they're sealed, and you would think they were trimmed afterwards instead of fitting into existing trim. I have already recommended Intermountain Glass to friends and neighbors, and I'm sure that I will again.

Excellent in every way!Prompt estimate, thorough explaination of products and issues(lead paint), competitive pricing, office staff attentive and accomadating to my need to proceed in a timely fashion, scheduling appointment for window placement, notified of delay in schedule and window and trim done with clean up!!!When I was looking for companies to bid the job I had been concerned that I would be given a low priority since the job involved one window. Replaced single pane windows with double pane, plus new moldings and sills outside as needed, and new moldings and sills throughout the inside of the house. The installers worked efficiently and quickly on each window, doing the rooms needed in order to keep the cats contained. They were friendly, gave me some options on the inside moldings and sills for the finished product. They sealed everything as they went along both inside and outside. The second project finished up the remaining windows, which were resized, and another door. They quickly, efficiently, and professionally rebuilt walls as needed and replaced wallboard, and mudded to have it reading for painting. The lead installer worked both jobs. Again I was kept informed as to what they were doing and why and shown some areas that needed attention that they were able to correct. I was thrilled with the finished product and have recommended them to others. They are an excellent company!
Description of Work: Excellent company, excellent product. The sales person was efficient, professional, understanding. Showed various types of windows and discussed the pros and cons of each. First job included most of the windows and a front door. The estimator came as scheduled, the installers came as scheduled. The work was done efficiently, quickly each day, and cleaned up after themselves each day. The second job was replacing the last of the windows and another door. Again, the whole operation was completed efficiently and quickly, with everything left in pristine condition. Their bid, even with the extra of moldings/sills, was still half the price of other bids I received.

Description of Work: Replaced 15 windows of various shapes and sizes.
