The exterminator called and apologized saying he would be an hour late which was no problem. When he got here he was very informative on what service I needed. Sam the tech did a thourough job and when he was finished, he didn't try to pressure me into having additional treatments down the road which I really appreciated. I hope he got rid of my ant problem, but I f I need future follow up treatments, I will definetly call Cascade again!

Member, thank you for choosing Cascade Pest Control and for taking the time to review our work. We're glad to read that Sam was informative and was able to treat the ants. It's important to note that ant colonies can get quite large before homeowners become aware of them. For that reason, it can take some time to eliminate the colony, and therefore a periodic service may be required. We are a phone call away if the ants come back!

Worked us in on very short timing (I wanted the ants out of the house NOW). Arrived promptly, worked efficiently and quickly. Said that it could take 2-3 days to see the affects. Spot on. The next day, only slightly decreased numbers, but day two only saw a couple and by day three no more ants.
Description of Work: Had a problem with paver ants when they started coming into the house. Cascade assessed the situation, treated the outside, and the entry point into the house, then did a follow treatment a week later as extra protection.

Member, thank you for choosing Cascade Pest Control. In most instances we have an actual insect for us to identify - this is a key part of the treatment plan, as just having sawdust or "frass" is inconclusive. However, it sounds like the general preventative service that was done may have sufficed. I'm sorry to read that we didn't get our follow-up correct, and have left a message with you to check on progress at this point. Please let us know if we can be of further service, at 425-641-6264

The rodent exclusion specialist was chatty and knowledgeable. He set a couple of traps in the attic and looked around the outside of my house. He also inspected the perimeter of the roof and took a few photographs. He identified a couple of areas where rats could enter and said he'd draw a plan of the house to demonstrate potential access areas. He didn't provide me with this. I was then given the following quotes: $503.70 to repair these areas.$1,148.75 to insulate my attic. $131.40 / every two months for inspection and protection service program. These services would be provided by Cascade pest control. The above assessment cost $332.88 and two traps were placed in my attic. Seven months has passed and they are still up there. Cascade did not return to see if the traps were full. I was very dissatisfied with the service and thought it was a scam. I removed the rat myself and cascade simply placed two traps in the attic for $332.88. This is something I could have done myself for a few dollars. I don't blame the guy who came out to assess my home, it was at the end of a really hot day when he arrived and he was very pleasant. I think it is probably Cascade's policy to offer services when home owners are horrified by pest invasion and, therefore ,willing to do just about anything. I would never recommend Cascade pest control to anyone !
Description of Work: I found a petrified rat in my attic and removed it myself. I then called Cascade pest control because they offered a discount on Angie's list and had good ratings.

Member, I'm sorry to read that you interpreted our services in this way. Our process is carefully explained to everyone first over the phone, and then by the inspector: Step 1 - a thorough inspection of the home, with a detailed report and digital pictures showing the work that should be done. Traps were set, and a bid was provided for sealing up the access points - because without that, rodents continue to come in. Step 2 - Exclusion seals up the access points. The investment in fixing the access points in your home is well made, as it prevents future rodents from coming in through those same access points. It does, however, require that the homeowner elect to do the work after we provide the bid. Step 3 - Ongoing periodic service establishes preventative exterior bait stations as well as routine inspections of the attic and crawl space. This is key to eliminating the rodent population that is present, to further reduce likelihood of future re-infestation. It is, however, elective and unlike other pest control companies we don't require a one-year commitment. Step 4 - Remediation of contaminated insulation. Many homeowners don't want to continue to live with contaminated insulation and vapor barrier, and we provide complete removal and re-installation service, which was part of the inspection documentation we provided. At every part of our inspection we simply provide our recommendations for solving the rodent problem. There is homeowner responsibility, and we made several attempts to contact you regarding your follow-up appointment. That appointment would have provided answers to any questions you may have had about our process or pricing, and at the very least would have given us the opportunity to check the traps and remove any carcasses. We honored the Angie's List discount on the inspection, and provided the full report and inspection that we would normally provide. To suggest that we are taking advantage of anyone by our methodical and proven system of eliminating rodents, when we made numerous calls to follow-up and there was no attempt on your part to contact us, is simply irresponsible and inaccurate.

I first used Cascade Pest Control a couple of years ago when we were renting a property with multiple issues that were making our lives h*** - bats inside the property, rodents and other small animals, spiders and ant colonies. Brad came out and methodically fixed all our issues, putting in place exclusion measures to make sure that the problems stayed fixed. He was friendly, experienced and professional and really went that extra mile to make sure that everything was done properly. When we bought a house recently, I again contacted Cascade Pest Control to do a pre-emptive sweep before we moved in and to do quarterly maintenance. Thanks again to Brad, we have had no problems at all so far and I would like to keep it that way!

Working with Cascade Pest Control was probably one of the worst experiences of my life. I was so angry, I didn't write a review at the time. They didn't do anything they said they would do. We called them because we had some mice that had made a nest underneath our gas fireplace chimney and the mice managed to get in to the house via a small opening. It cost us about $300.00 just for this guy to go through the entire house and tell us whether or not there were any things that needed sealing. I only wanted where the mice were coming in sealed. We had to have this whole house inspection for $300. They gave us a quote of $1,200.00 for all the things they said needed sealing and set up an appointment for about four days later. The guy they sent out worked on it for maybe a couple of hours before I got a call from the owner, saying he isn't supposed to be working today because the employee was injured. We're taking him off the job and we'll send him back out in a couple of days. They scheduled an appointment that was for the morning of a day I had an appointment to sit with my mom while my dad went to a doctor's appointment (she was in the middle stages of dementia and couldn't be left alone). I told them I had to leave by 2:00 so if they were sure it would be done by then, we could schedule it to be that morning. They didn't call me. They said that something more important had come up and so the guy wasn't going to show up until later. They had my cell phone and my home phone and they claimed they couldn't get a hold of me. The worker did finally call to say he would come that afternoon but I had that prior commitment. I ended up having my husband leave work to sit with my mom and I stayed at home to wait for the serviceman. One of the things they said they were going to fix was fix a piece of broken duct work in the crawlspace under our home. We found out a year later, they had done nothing with the duct work. A fix they did do to our garage door was so tacky, I called the company and asked them to have the guy remove it and replace the weather stripping he had taken off. The replaced weather stripping was put on so poorly that it rippled under the door. They basically didn't do anything they said they would do and then they charged a lot. They charged my card for the money as they were leaving our neighborhood. It was a totally unhappy experience. That was a lot of money for us to put out. We ended up going to Home Depot ourselves and getting some screening to fix where the mice were coming in. It was a horrible, horrible, horrible experience.

Member, I'm sorry to hear about the experience you had, and wish that we would have had the opportunity to address it 2 years ago. As you can see from the hundreds of positive reviews, this experience is outside of the norm, so I did some research to find out what had happened. Our rodent service starts with an inspection of the home to locate all of the access points. This is $320, which is agreed upon prior to us coming out. During the 32-point inspection we detail ALL of the potential access points - not just the active ones. The reason we do this is because once the active points are sealed, rodents will go to the next "soft spot" for re-entry. Your review states "I only wanted where the mice were coming in sealed", but our inspector reviews all recommended access points, and there was agreement from you to have us proceed with all of the work as recommended. The most significant (and costly) repair is unfortunately a fairly common issue - roof adjoinments. I can appreciate the thought that you can do the repairs yourself; that is not an uncommon reaction. Most people have neither the expertise to locate all of the access points, nor the desire to crawl around in crawl spaces or attics to find them...let alone get up on the roof to seal up access points. It is rare for us to have a technician get injured, and unfortunately we did have to pull our tech off of your job that day. I can't imagine that we'd use language that something else more important came up, and our notes and scheduler from two years ago don't reflect that any other job was conflicting so I apologize that I can't speak to that. What is clear to me now, from your review, is something that wasn't made clear to us then - all of this occurred at a time when your family was in distress. If we had known this, we could have rescheduled the entire project to a time that would have been more convenient. Ultimately, I respectfully can't agree that we "didn't do anything we said we would do", as we did seal up all access points as identified, but I do apologize for your experience. Again, if we had had the opportunity to discuss this at that time back in 2011, with details more clear, I would have been glad to have worked any issues out to your satisfaction. We aren't perfect - we employ humans that do, from time to time, make errors - but we have built a reputation that we will resolve the issue when we are given the opportunity to do so.

I recently had to have a full crawl space restoration and wanted to be able to maintain and prevent rodents from getting in. I had a bad experience with another company so read the reviews on Cascade and thought I would give them a try. They responded quickly to my initial email, and when I spoke with someone he was very polite and provided me alot of information and answered all of my questions. I scheduled my initial inspection and they accommodated my schedule easily. The technician was on time and was very respectful and professional. He was able to locate where the rodents had been getting in when 2 other company's had not. I will continue maintenance service with this company as a result of my good initial experience.

Very useful advice when I called them for removal of a possible hornet's nest in the house. The guy that answered the phone asked me a bunch of questions about the bees and the behavior I was observing. He recommended (since it was late in the season) that I just leave well enough alone unless I see a big spike in the number of bees I see--I guess they could just be foraging or in the early stage of nest building. I really appreciate this...a free phone call is much better than paying for a visit to learn the same thing!

Received prompt reply to Angie's List inquiry. Was friendly and helpful - gave me great, easy to understand information and options. They listened to my issues and seemed to genuinely want to help, not just push a sale. I chose Cascade based on the good reviews. When I called them I was pleased to hear that they combined the full property inspection and any necessary treatment in one trip -- this is different than some other top-rated services that split inspection and treatment between visits and charge separately, resulting in a higher bill. When Mel the technician arrived, he was professional, thorough, conscientious, and friendly. He checked out the full attic which included searching for any evidence of squirrel intrusion. He then inspected the crawlspace and the entire perimeter of the house and backyard deck. He was very knowledgeable about pest behavior and discovered a moisture ant issue around my chimney that I wasn't fully aware of. In all that he did he wasn't rushed and took his time to check beyond surface details to provide an excellent appraisal. He gave me confidence that the pest problem was being handled in a detailed way. He treated the garage area (the reason for my initial call) but also treated my chimney area, on the outside of the house as well as inside, and also treated one wall in one room inside the house that adjoins the affected garage area. Finally, he treated the outside perimeter of the house. His entire visit lasted nearly 3-1/2 hours with no wasted steps or indecision about what to do. I would highly recommend Cascade and this is primarily due to the excellent service that Mel provided.

I was very happy with the work they did. It was more expensive then I expected....199.00 for the inspection and 1100.00 for the treatment.
Description of Work: I found termites in a tree stump very close to my house. I called Cascade and they were out the same day I called. The technician was very knowledgable and answered all of my questions. He did an inspection under my house and found some old termite tunnels but no active termites. Since the stump was close to my house and there had been termite activity under the house in the past. I decided to have a treatment done as a preventative measure. The same technician came out two days later and did the treatment which should last 10-15 years.

Response from Cascade Pest Control
Member, thank you for choosing Cascade Pest Control, and for taking the time to review our work. Termites are unfortunately one of the most expensive to treat pests; the pricing varies based on the linear feet that has to be trenched in order to properly treat and protect the home. With our treatment warranty, however, the investment made in protecting your home is far less than the potential damage to the structure if left untreated. Thank you again for choosing Cascade Pest. We value your business, and look forward to continuing to protect your property from termites and other pests.

I like the guy that services us. He seems to be on top of things and cares about what he is doing. Unfortunately they have moved our guy and we will be getting a new one next quarter.

Response from Cascade Pest Control
Member, thank you for being a Cascade Pest customer for over 3 years. We appreciate your business, and value your feedback. From time to time we do need to make some adjustments to technician coverage. We recognize that this impacts the relationship, but we take great efforts to document the treatment plan for every customer so that the next technician can pick up where the last one left off. Please feel free to contact our Operations Manager with any feedback about your technician, as our goal is to always meet and exceed your expectations of a pest control company.
