+ 1 moreChris our technician discovered that we had rats in our crawl space. He trapped and removed several of them. He showed us exactly how they were getting into our crawl space and the extent of the damage they had caused. We scheduled to have the crawl space cleaned up, and have a new vapor barrier, insulation, and duct wrapping done. Chris also made special crawl space coverings that would prevent rats from reinfesting the crawl space. The installers were professional and personable. They worked efficiently to get our ~2100 square foot crawl space cleaned up. They put in the new vapor barrier, reinsulated the crawl space, fixed ducts that had been knocked down, rewrapped the duct work and then cleaned everything out. They cleaned up everything before they left and I would never have known that they had spent the whole day cleaning up tons of rat poop, dirty insulation and removing a general mess from our crawl space. Chris came by two weeks later to make sure that everything was as it should be. So far so good. No rats in our crawlspace and our crawlspace is free of rat faeces and debris. Even now 8 months later we are still rat free.
Description of Work: Cascade Pest Control discovered rats had inhabited/were inhabiting our crawl space and that they had caused significant damage to our crawl space. Rats were removed and the crawl space was cleaned out, reinsulated, ducts were fixed and rewrapped, and a new vapor barrier was put in.

+ -1 moreI was grateful to the agent to inform me that the wasps were actually a type of insect that is a relative of the wasp but is actually beneficial and that I didn't have to do anything about them. However, he then said his company doesn't really like him to go to a job and do nothing so he tried very hard to sell me services that I don't need. His lack of integrity almost makes me wonder wether he was being honest about the insects (that they are not dangerous) or he just didn't think he could get to the nest which was located in a very difficult to reach place and wanted to placate me. Time will tell since I will either get stung, have my house eaten by these insects or as he claims, nothing will happen. The salesmanship really irked me.

Description of Work: The company seems to be VERY unorganized as far a dispatching their employees and the employees don't seem to discuss with each other what they found at the job site and what needs to be done in the future. I would be told the name of one tech that would be coming out and someone else would show up, not knowing anything about what had been discussed. I had to call them each time to find out when they'd be coming out again. In fact, I had to call them again last week to do the follow-up. The gal kept me on hold while she "tried to find someone she could send out". I finally had to ask her to just call me back when she know when they were coming out. I also felt like the job could have been billed as a "total job"., Instead, the first tech came out to do the inspection - he wanted a check. I didn't hear from them so I called to find out what happens next. (I wanted to get this done since the smell in my house was only getting worse) They scheduled someone to come out to do the "exclusion". - he wanted another check. While he closed up any entry point under the house, that did nothing about the smell and come to find out the next step had not been scheduled!! He (Max) was kind enough to schedule that for me and told me he would be sure to have the techs bring foam out to close off an open area under the kitchen sink to see if that would stop the smell somewhat. When the techs showed up to do the next stop, they knew nothing about the foam or the smell. SURPRISE!! While these two were doing the "cleanout", they put a hole in a water pipe under the house. They did make the arrangements for a plumber to come out but that couldn't happen until later in the afternnon. (More time I had to take away from work...) - They wanted another check before they left though. Even though they were leaving with a hole in my water pipe... Now we're into the "maintenance" phase... I was told I wouldn't have to be there for this. They would just call and let me know when they were going to be there.. the first visit I got a call to let me know they wanted to schedule the maintenance visit and "would I be home" on Friday? We'll see how long this lasts.

+ -1 moreDale came out and gave the house a good once over. He identified the wood boring insects as beetles (not termites - which alleviated my worry!). He also pointed out some evidence on the outside of the house of small rodents, but he couldn't find any evidence of them in the crawlspace of the house. And in the biggest catch, Dale found a giant hornet's nest being built under our deck. (He found it the hard way - by getting stung!) If he hadn't taken care of the nest, my wife and I would've been in for a rude discovery the next time we sat outside. He donned full bee-keepers garb and took care of the hornet's nest (He even pointed out the dead queen hornet). Then he gave our house a treatment to take care of the beetles. He was great - very professional and personable. I'd easily use Cascade again.
Description of Work: I had the home inspected for possible pests. I'd seen evidence of a wood boring insect, but didn't know if it was termites or not.

They did a very thorough inspection and pointed out a few spots in the crawlspace that would be worth addressing to prevent pests in the future. They took care of the wasp nest via spraying, and the only inconvenience was not being able to water plants on the deck for 3 days while the material took hold.

+ -1 moreI've been using them for a year and a half. I pay them per quarter. They do anything that really needs to be done. At one time they took out a hornet’s nest for me. They called me and I set a date. I haven't had to call them. We had rat problems and we needed help to get rid of them. They took care of a lot of things for us. They are very flexible and willing to address the concerns I have. If I want a particular corner to be checked out they would do that. I haven't had any problems with them. Sometimes they haven't come out exactly when they have said, and we have had to reschedule. I have signed up for their quarterly maintenance. They will be coming out again.
Description of Work: I use Cascade Pest Control for pest control. They come out quarterly and check the rat traps and so forth.

+ -1 moreI am an animal nut and I hate to kill anything. My exterminator is so nice and my dog loves him, which is kind of weird. I requested that they don’t use poison and they respected that. I requested the most humane way that they could deal with our rat problem, and they do. I am very happy with them and they are very punctual and answer all my questions.
Description of Work: I use A Cascade Pest Control quarterly and the last time they were out was about a week ago for trapping and inspection. They come out, trap, cleanup and take away any remains.

+ -1 moreOn 3 occassions I asked them to schedule their visits due to our having dogs. Every time I asked for them to pre-schedule they claimed with 100% certainty that they would schedule ahead. Yet they continued to come without scheduling in advance. Each time this happened I called complained and asked that they put a note in our file to ensure they would schedule the next time around. We would get a call the day before and the person would show up without scheduling for a convenient time for us. On the most recent time they called the day before they intended to show up - I called that evening and spoke with Gil. I told him to cancel the planned visit for the next day. I explained our need for scheduling due to the dogs and how I had asked that this occur on two previous occassions and had been told with certainty it had been taken care of. He guaranteed that he had taken care of the scheduling issue. I got home that night to a notice that Austin had been to my house. What I couldn't understand is how the service could have happened properly since all of my backyard gates were locked and by the way I had canceled that service date (remember)? When they called me back the next day to try to convince me to keep the service, I was told the Austin had climbed up onto a ladder and unlocked my gate so he could enter the back yard. So even though I had canceled the service for that day, they still showed up and broke into my back yard. I wonder if they break into homes too. Needless to say after having them just show up after I had specifically asked for them to schedule in advance and each time I was assured that they would do this...the third time was their out. I was completely unsatisfied with their ability to look after this simple request, not to mention the liability they exposed me to by breaking into my back yard when I specifically asked them not to come on that day. They are lucky I didn't call the police since they were trespassing. Of course, I still received their bill. They are expensive - almost $143 per quarterly visit and are unable to meet reasonable customer requests. I would not recommend them.
Description of Work: Cascade provided pest control for us for approximately 1.5-2 years on a quarterly basis. They automatically come out quarterly. They initially came to us as a result of uncovering an ant nest during a remodeling project. After initial service they continued with a quarterly service.

+ -1 moreAll work on exclusion report was completed perfectly and timely. I take comfort in knowing that all these problems were corrected.
Description of Work: After seeing a squirrel enter the roof crawl space, I called Cascade Pest control. On a first visit, upper and lower crawl spaces were inspected and the critter was not to be seen. Austin checked for all places rodents could enter and our house had plenty. He drew a project graph of the exclusion work that was recommended and set traps. I was impressed with his professionalism and knowledge. On the next visit, eve vents, roof adjoinment screens were replaced or added as well as flashing to soffits and chimney interface on the roof. Around the foundation, the house had damaged vents and a gap under the front alcove of the window. The lower crawlspace had an open tunnel around where the sewer line is so that had to be filled. Traps were checked again after one week. No rodents.

+ -1 moreThey come promptly four times a year. They do exactly what they are told to do in the problem areas. They tell you exactly when they will be coming. Their price is expensive. They give good service. They are really good with their jobs. The chemicals they spray are not harmful for the dogs. They make sure the pets are inside when they are supposed to be. They are awesome. I would continue to use them in the future.

+ -1 moreThey were responsive when I had a problem. They were able to set up a quarterly deal and I’ve had no problems ever since. So that’s a good thing. They are very good at explaining everything. I think their customer service is very good. They are very prompt. They alert me in plenty of time before coming over. I would use their services again in the future.
Description of Work: I used Cascade Pest Control for pest control. I last used their services in March or April. They come out on a quarterly basis to do the pest control. They do the pest control both, inside and outside the house.

We called the service provider and they arrived the next day and surveyed the situation. They provided a quote with recommendations and when accepted, started the service immediately. There was immediate success but they continued follow up over the next 4 weeks to ensure the problem was solved. They even visited the house during family vacation, using a lent key due to the trust we had in the service technician. Very satisfied.
Description of Work: Rat elimination from attic including blocking the access point, snaptrapping the attic until all activity ceased and baiting the perimeter of the house over a 4-5 week period.

+ -1 moreI was able to reach Cascade right away and they were able to schedule an appointment the next day for both the bed bug inspection and estimate for quarterly exterior spray services. The inspector (Steven) was very nice and professional and did a very thorough check of our entire home, including the attic and crawl space. Thankfully he didn't find any evidence of bed bugs but left traps for us to put out just to make sure. Turns out we had nothing to worry about, but the inspection definitely put our minds at ease. He also explained in detail what we need to do for regular maintenance and what wouldn't be necessary and gave us a very reasonable estimate. We will definitely be using Cascade for our regular pest prevention in the future.
Description of Work: We called Cascade for two reasons. First we needed an estimate for an "Inspect & Protect", or a perimeter spray around the house to prevent pests from getting in. We also had just returned from a trip overseas and were paranoid that we may have brought bed bugs home from one of the hotels, so we were anxious to get them out right away.

+ -1 moreWe called, the owner was booked but scheduled a 5pm appointment for the next day. Showed up on time and quickly determined the location of the nest and proceded to spray the nest down with a chemical (that was safe for dogs) that would not only kill the wasp in the nest, but any wasp that returned to the nest over the next week or so. He was super professional and promised to come out free of charge for a second spraying if it became necessary. I was very, very pleased with everything about this engagement.
Description of Work: Wasp had burrowed into the ground our garden. It was a large and aggressive nest.

+ -1 moreThey did the exclusion work late Summer/ early Fall and by December I had more evidence that rodents had come into my house. I called them and had to wait a couple of days for someone to come by. He filled a hole they had dug under my foundation. I ended up having several additional occurrences of rats getting into my house. Every time I called I don't think I ever got same day service. The service repair person continued to fill the hole that the rodents were digging using concrete. He never suggested additional measures. In December he must of set poison out and I ended up with something that died in my walls which I could smell in the house. He came by and said he couldn't find it and there was nothing he could do about it. In January, I had a rat actually bite my arm while I was sleeping. When I told the dispatcher and the exterminator this they both told me that would not happen. They continued to tell me this would never happen. I will include a picture. Then in February, a rat came into my bedroom again and ate into a rice filled neck warmer I had left on the bedroom floor!! I researched rodent problems and found that in cases like mine it is sometimes necessary to remove the insulation, clean, sanitize and deodorize the crawl space then reinstall the insulation. I suggested this to the service person and he said that would be a good idea. It took several calls on my part to get an estimate for this work from him and it was for an area that is twice the size of my crawl space, therefore it was twice the price that I got from United Pest Control, who I eventually hired to do this work. United ended up redoing the exclusion work. They dug 2 feet deep around the area that the rats were digging hole and installed a wire mesh so when the rats dig holes they would not get through in the future. Cascade Pest Control did contact me about the above incident and were very concerned about it. They went out of their way to resolve the issue with me. They gave me the impression that they were going to put into action measures to make sure this type of thing does not happen again.
