Andy from 5 Star came for estimate, and was very professional, but friendly too. He understood that I am particular about work, and experienced in building homes, as well as general interior work, and hands on. I had done the remodel of the loft, and wanted care to be taken that the carpeting be perfect. I had bids from three other carpet companies. I had already had a bad experience with Haight Carpet, who I had originally hired, but who failed to do the job when promised, (the week before guests were coming to stay in the loft), and then after being jerked around on time, installers and solutions to a problem with the posts which they were charging extra for, Haight didn't have a plan as to how to actually carpet around them. Andy spent the time to solve that problem, and several others, and his was the least expensive bid. What's more, (and part of the reason for the lower price) his bid used about 4 yards less carpet than Haight and one other bid, yet I had enough carpet left over to have four sections of carpet bound to "float" on the stairs to the outside deck, which lets me clean them easily as dirt from the deck is tracked in. The actual team of installers that 5 Star sent out were good, friendly, efficient, and had the "extras" in the truck to make an excellent installation. I'm very pleased with the results. Andy also went out of his way, personally delivering the carpet sections to be bound for the stairs to the binder, and a fast turn around before more guests arrived.

The product quality was good, but the service was overall very bad. The company representative did not show up to an initial appointment at all (forgot about it), showed up 20min late to a second appointment (had address written down wrong) and the actual installer showed up 1.5 hours late (material not ready). I would have switched to another company after the second appointment, but really had to wrap it up. The installation itself was good, but that was performed by a sub contractor. Very disappointing experience, as I chose this company based on the great other reviews here.

I am not a person that writes reviews very often: only when things are totally fabulous or go tragically wrong. This company fits the fabulous category in every way! I went in to 5 Star on saturday afternoon and chose my carpet with the assistance and advice of Dave. Eric came to measure the house on Monday morning, and by Tuesday afternoon, the carpet is done and looks beautiful. Raul was the lead installer, so thanks go to Raul and crew as well. This was the least amount of hassle that I have had in a long time in purchasing goods and services -- actually, I must re-state, as there was no hassle involved at all in working with 5 star! I will be a repeat customer, and have already recommended them to others.

After visiting several local flooring stores, as well as speaking with a couple of nationwide providers, we visited 5 Star. We were a little nervous, because we figured that the bigger box stores would be able to provide the same products for cheaper prices. Price wasn't the only consideration, but it was a big one for us. The first visit to the store was really encouraging to us. The guys at 5 Star listened to our goals (as well as our limitations), and showed us quite a few options. When we started to talk price, our minds were eased considerably. After that first visit to the store, I can't remember how many times I called and went back to the store. We had never done a flooring project, and were totally clueless. The guys at 5 Star were completely patient and gracious with us, putting up with many questions/clarifications at every step of the project. Immediately after meeting the guys at 5 Star, we felt, for the first time, that we could trust them not to take advantage of us. That was huge. The result of working with 5 Star was that we got considerably better carpet (and pad) than we'd even considered elsewhere. In fact, the cost was about 2/3 of an inferior product offered by the pushy sales people at Empire. When we set out, we had planned to re-carpet where there was already carpet. When I threw out the idea of doing hard floors in the rest of the house, the guys at 5 Star gave me some rough estimates based on the square footage. The end result was an entire house of new floors (carpet & manufactured hardwood), and we absolutely love them.

I am so very happy with everything about this job. The carpet is beautiful (Masland carpet in the Oceanside color series). I chose a Support Guard 8 pad with memory foam and moisture barrier. It is heavenly to walk on in bare feet - just what I wanted. Both the contractor and the installer were wonderful to work with, professional, knowledgeable, and considerate. They worked around my work and vacation schedule, were prompt, and always polite. The installer had to haul in and remove carpet up two flights of fairly steep stairs and did so without any marks or scrapes on the wall. On the upper floor large, heavy pieces of furniture included a wall of bookcases had to be moved. All of this was done efficiently and without a problem. Doors were removed and rehung and there was minimal mess to clean up afterward. The installer moved everything back into place perfectly. It's a gorgeous carpet that I know I will enjoy for many years to come. I highly recommend 5 Star.

We were getting our home ready for sale and contacted George at Andy's 5 Star Flooring and we couldn't be happier with the results!! Since we were remodeling the entire home, we had very strict scheduling requirements and also a newly refinished hardwood floor to protect. George worked with us on everything, including fixing some last minute problems with squeaks and floor leveling (We had new tile put into the master bath, and they had to re-level the floor. This left the right side of the bathroom entry about an inch higher than the left. 5 Star was able to build a mini ramp to smooth the transition so it wasn't even noticeable!) They also broke the job up into 2 install days, the first to remove all the carpet in the home and install the upstairs, the second to install the downstairs and the stair case carpet. The split was due to the hardwood floors being refinished and not wanting the new stain to hurt the new carpet. They did all the work without ever dinging even one wall or hurting our beautiful new wood floor. Andy's entire team is professional, courteous, on-time, helpful - I can't think of enough good words to describe the service we received about this company!!! I recommend them with all my heart, oh yea, and the price was great too!!

Eric, of 5 Star Flooring, includes in his cell phone message "I will simply work harder to complete your job" - and that he indeed does! Eric oversaw the selection, ordering and provided important information to inform my selection of carpet and vinyl, and processed the order in a timely manner. However, most importantly, he was extremely flexible on the install dates, which were a bit of a moving target due to the schedule changes of the painters who proceeded them. He went out of his way to make sure the install took place within a very tight time frame. And after it was all done, he was able to accommodate a last minute bathroom vinyl install in the space of two days! I can't say enough about his professionalism and strong work ethic. Fantastic!

Went well. Representative came to home with carpet and flooring samples. Talked about our options and what we were looking for. We settled on a few choices and received an estimate for the cost of materials and installation. We're able to get 6 month 0% financing through GE. Coordinated the installation which happened over the holidays. Work was performed as expected. Very professional. We were very pleased with the outcome.

George at 5 star was extremely helpful in assisting us with getting our recent carpet work done. He was extremely patient with us even coming out a second time for an onsite walk through when our original plans changed. 5 star installed new carpeting in the master bedroom and then used sections of the old master bedrooms carpet to recover the stairs and a kids bedroom that had been damaged. The installer showed up on time and did an excellent job completing the work.

Prompt response to our request for an estimate. George was on time, very helpful with supplying samples & quick to respond to my queries. He ordered the carpet & scheduled the installation. Ivan was the contract installer & did a great job. Final price was as estimated. 5 Star Flooring also arranged for an estimate for hardwood floor & tile installation from a sub-contractor they use (Expert Construction).

5 star flooring was wonderful. They were knowledgeable and helpful. When we had trouble selecting a color for the carpet, they obtained large samples of several colors and had them for us the next day. This helped us make the right choice. They were flexible with the schedule. We had them remove the carpet right after we placed the bid to make it easier for the painters. They then came in and installed the vinyl, to minimize the impact to painting of my baseboards. Then they moved the carpet install date multiple times at my request. We are very happy with the quality of the carpet and vinyl. The installers also did a beautiful job, we are absolutely thrilled. The entire experience was great!!

5 Star installed about 700 sq-feet of carpet and 200+ of vinyl (two bathrooms). Easy to work with, competitive pricing, no complaints. The installers showed up on time and did a great job. What more can you ask for.

These guys do an excellent job and their contract installer Ivan is an absolute doll. After a screw up on our part they were out quickly to repair damage we did to our newly installed vinyl. I will be using them again in a heart beat when it's time to upgrade my living room to hard wood.

Great. Called to get information on getting some carpet stretched. They referred me directly to their installer as they said it wasn't worth it to go through them for such a small job. Really appreciated this.

When I looked at ideas in the store, the man assisting was knowledgeable and helpful. But that's where the great service ended. I was interested in two types of carpet but wanted samples brought to my home during measuring. Eric came to my house to measure, and was scheduled to bring the samples but didn't have one of them and was certain I had it with me. Nope! He was confused and couldn't figure out where the sample was and had to leave and come back later. He found it and came back later, which put a bit of a crimp in my schedule. He took measurements, I picked colors and carpet texture and he hand wrote a simple receipt (talking aloud as he figured out the math, which took some time) and scheduled the install. The installers are NOT employees. They are two men, work independent from 5 Star who required payment by check made payable to a person. I would have preferred 5 Star inform customers, in advance, their installers are not associated with the business. and as best I could tell, it's doubtful the installers have a business license. The installers wore their dirty shoes in my house, in spite of the obvious booties at the door. When I said something, they basically said it was my fault for not informing them immediately. I'm moving into a new home and have had lots of vendors in and out of my house over the past several weeks. The installers are the first who didn't automatically remove their shoes without my saying they should. They put on the booties I provide once I said something but then just wore the booties outside. What's the point?! They unrolled the carpet on my driveway, without protective plastic between the new carpet and the dirty driveway and proceeded to walk all over the new carpet (laying in the driveway) to "settle it down" but of course were wearing their dirty shoes walking all over the carpet to get it to settle down. I was appalled! I explained I'm a shoe-less house so for them to place my new carpet in a dirty driveway and then walk on it with their dirty feet was disturbing. When they finished the install and put the doors back on the closets, they left without realizing they put the wrong doors on the closets. It was obvious once I walked into the bedrooms and saw the doors didn't even fit on the door jam. Fortunately they left their phone number so I called right away and they came back to re-hand the doors. But come on....isn't this basic? I would never use 5 Star again, primarily because the installers were terrible. They even made a disgusting mess using my bathrooms!

They were punctual, professional, and the workmanship was excellent. All for a great price.

Got this Company off of Angie's list because of the numerous ratings and all being very positive. They came out, at no trip cost, measured and estimated my costs to put memory guard foam pad with a deluxe pile carpet. They were every bit as competitive as anyone else I called out, and I had two more out to compare, again from Angie's list. We selected them mainly because of their high ratings but also because of Eric, the salesman, former carpet installer for years himself, he knew exactly how to get us ready for the job that was coming up. No presssuring, no upsell, what do you want, and here will be the price. They ordered the materials and set up the installation date. I paid a couple of hundred more for the installers to help me move a lot of heavy furniture back and forth. They did, and never complained, they were exceptionally helping and cooperative. They laid the carpet in this 4 bedroom upstairs, a landing, bathroom, stairwell, living/dining area over two days, and did an outstanding job. The Raul Carpet service installers they used were outstanding. Came in on estimate and the house looks and feels beautiful. I would recommend these folks to anyone, and knowing they will be thrilled with them.

The sales rep was courteous and on time with lots of samples, we picked a pattern and he set up a date the next week for the installers to come. The installers were on time and very quick, the cleaned up after they were done and did a great job.

The project started off good, in that 5 Star Flooring were good about working with me on finding the best materials for my home. However, the contractor that was used by 5 Star Flooring to install the materials were slow, late, not as professional as they should have been. They didn't show up to work until the afternoon and then because of their late start would stay late into the evening and would have to ask them to stop. Because they started late, the job took longer to complete. If they had started at 8 a.m. the job would have been completed in half the time.

All employees arrived promptly for appointments, were quick, efficient and professional in their task. I would definitely not only use this company again, but recommend them to everyone. A good experience all around.

George was very responsive in giving us a bid and working around our schedules. I highly recommend this company. They were great to work with.

After shopping for hardwood flooring for several months, we were unable to find the exact color and style that we liked. In addition, we were unable to find resources to help us make the decision. After reading a series of positive reviews on Angie's List for 5 Star Flooring, we decided to give them a try, and we are happy that we did. 5 Star Flooring has a very small showroom in Bothell. We were greeted immediately by their salesperson, Dave, who was very friendly. He was patient with us and took the time to show us many options and help us narrow our choices down to just a few. We decided on solid maple flooring, and he then referred us to Expert Construction, a separate company, for a measurement and labor quote. Frankly, we were a little surprised at the separate nature of the flooring purchase and the installation between two different companies. We expected it to be one company doing both jobs, but it all worked out relatively seamlessly, with the exception of payment. We had to make separate payments to each company. Expert Construction called us within an hour of our visit to 5 Star Flooring and arranged a visit for the quote. Sergey from Expert Construction was prompt, polite and fast. We had a quote emailed to us within a day of his visit. We then worked with Sergey's schedule to set up a day for the installation. We had the flooring delivered to our home within a week, but unfortunately had to change our installation appointment due to some family priorities that came up unexpectedly. Sergey graciously worked with us to delay our installation date. The installation went as promised: Sergey's crew arrived as scheduled and completed the job in 2 days, as promised. Although both men on the crew spoke little English, they were polite, clean, and their work was excellent. Overall, we are very pleased with our flooring and the installation, and we would work with both 5 Star Flooring and Expert Construction again.

As a home owner, I have had to deal with many repairs and upgrades. I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed with 5 Star Flooring on this one. Their prices were competitively the best, and their installers were on their A game. They installed as schedule on the day pre-arranged, as promised, and did a great job. I have to say that the process was seamless, (pardon the pun). Working with the guys at 5 Star was easy, from choosing amongst their large selection of carpet choices, to the quoting and business end, and the instalI. The entire job just went smoothly.
