Cesar & the Painters

Cesar and his team did an amazing job painting our old house. It had been 15 years since the last paint job and the paint was in bad shape. We had peeling paint, bare spots and rotten boards. All of which Cesar?s team did a fabulous job with. Cesar arrived on time, kept us informed and finished on time which wasn?t easy since we had spring showers. Best of all, Cesar price was very reasonable. Cesar?s tag line is ?affordable, friendly and reliable painter? and I couldn?t agree more. For us they were all of that and more. I highly recommend them.

want to add to the previous comments about this company because English is obviously his second language. I found Cesar and his co-worker very knowledgeable about what needed to be done. He was kind enough to come by when I was out of town to take a look at my two story home to see if it was a job he could do. Then we met in person to go over the specific project needs. I have had 3 other contractors out for bid comparisons. Cesar was right in line with the others as to price, scope and time it would take. His presentation does not have the finesse or high tech links and templates we are use to but, my impression is that he knows what needs to be done and will do a good job. He absolutely gave me the sense that he wants to go the extra mile for me to be 100% pleased with the project. I was treated with respect and that goes a long way. Communication via email and messaging and telephone, with a company who has English as a second language, is frustrating for all concerned. Is there room for improvement? Yes. Is there room for me to give them a chance? Yes. It now all comes down to scheduling and price.

When asked upon arrival to do the project I asked Cesar if they were going to fix the cracks in the ceiling and any imperfections. He answered yes. Doesn't appear that any imperfections were fixed and the cracks that were covered with a thin coat are showing cracks again. I can even see lines that their scraper left.Several leaks in the floor covering resulted in stains in the carpet that need to be cleaned.

I let him know that we were not ready for the work back in October when we purchased it. He was supposed to be at my home this morning at 8am. I reached out to him by phone at 8:15 when he didn't show up. He stated that his painters truck broke down over the weekend and he had no way getting to the job. He then stated he had no way of contacting me to let me know. We had been messaging through the Angie's List message center for months so he could have sent a message there. I also have a voicemail from him on November 6th so he had my number at that point. He proceeded to yell at me stating that it was my fault and that he didn't want to message me as I take to long to respond. I have since decided due to his unprofessionalism that we will be using a different company.

The extra cost was more then what expected.

It went great! The painters were super nice and here hardworking.

Cesar was so prompt and flexible. We had many changes in schedule due to an unexpected move. He was willing to change things around, but still got the job done on time. He and his crew did a really great job on everything! The popcorn ceilings covered terribly taped drywall and they were able to make them look smooth and perfect. The exterior of the house was peeling in so many places due to improper preparation on a paint job we had done 5 years ago. Cesar and the Painters made it look fabulous. After I paid the final bill, I noticed a few things that I needed touched up. From previous experience, I thought it would be hard, if not impossible, to get them back out to fix the few items since I had already paid in full. Not the case with Cesar and the Painters! I was so very happy when Cesar himself came out the very next day to do a few touch up and replace a lost fixture. And all with a cheerful attitude! If you want someone you can trust to do a job well done, hire Cesar. He and his whole crew were courteous, cheerful, hardworking, and above all, honest and trustworthy. You won't regret hiring these guys!

We ended up not being able to have the work done due to issues with our ceiling, but Cesar was very nice. We are going to need some painting done in the near future and we are considering using Cesar and the Painters for that job.

Got the job done in two days and the quality was good.

They arrived on time and completed the service in a timely manner. There were several places where evidence of the ceiling remained on the wood, carpet and stone flooring after the provider left the premises.

Cesar Garcia came right out to look over the job. We were able to determine that this is not something that I would be able utilize. It was not applicable for the Big Deal that I purchased. He was very professional, took off his shoes before coming in the house, and very knowledgable. If I had another project to do concerning painting I would definitely hire him.

They did interior painting. They did two rooms and a hall. I like them and they did a credible job.

I bought one of the specials on Angie's List; two painters for a day. I was hoping that they'd get the entryway and stairway painted, the most difficult parts of what I had left to paint in my house. They did that and more. They were also able to finish the entire hallway as well. These guys are truly the best painters I have hired. They were highly skilled, friendly, and took no shortcuts. Not only did they do a masterful job of painting but they did an outstanding job of ensuring that when they left, no paint was present where it wan't supposed to be. They did what I wish all painters would do in their prep work and cleanup. I couldn't find a single dot of paint on the floor, carpet, trim, etc. You would be very hard pressed to find a better twosome than the two guys who did this paint job for me. Cesar, give them a raise!

Called back right away to schedule time to look at job. Arrived on time to complete job. The job was done within 4 hours.gave b for quality because clean up could have been better. Over all did excellent job

The painters were wonderful men and obviously very competent in painting. The only problem I had was that I paid for 8 hours of work and only got 6. The men showed up an hour late (which was understandable since there was a blocking accident on the road they were on) with no phone call to advise me of their new start time. They took an hour lunch (which was also totally acceptable but should have been noted that it was included in the 8 hours of work) and then were packed and out the door up an hour early. I would have complained about this if their work was not so exemplary. I would definitely use them again but be more proactive on the time element.

Purchased Angies List deal of "$299 for Acoustic Popcorn Ceiling Removal and Re-Texturing ". Don't recall the square footage the deal covered, but we expanded the project to do Living Room, Hallway, 3 bed rooms and another room slightly smaller than the living room. Because all but 1 of the ceilings had been previously painted, the square footage cost went up by over 40% more per foot as water can't penetrate the paint as well and therefore makes the popcorn finish more difficult to scrape off, plus it creates alot more dust. Cesar and his crew showed up on time and was ready to work. They worked hard and kept busy the entire job. The idea to prime and paint the ceiling came after they started the project and the cost of the project grew as well. We agreed on the increased cost and they proceeded to finish. They combined the primer with the texture to kill two tasks with one application. They managed to finish scraping the popcorn ceilings and sprayed the texture and primer mix all in the same day. I was pleased with the progress and speed in which they worked. They came back the next day and sprayed the off-white paint. Once they were done, I noticed a couple of things I was dissapointed with: In many of the corners where the ceiling meets the wall, there is still residual popcorn that needed to be scraped. Another thing is that it's probably inevitable to have water drip down behind the plastic they installed on the walls, so some clean up on the walls was needed. If you tell them you plan to paint the walls, they'll take less of a precaution to protect them from over spray, water, etc,, Because they wanted to limit the number of trips and days, they cranked up my heat for the purpose of trying to quickly dry the texture/primer mixture so they could take a break and come back to paint on the same day. It did not work out and we agreed they would come back the next day. When the heat was cranked up, the dust form the rooms werre circulated throughout the heat ducts and the house due to the fresh air returns being in the rooms they were working (even though there was plastic hanging in front of them). While this was a very messy project, you may want to consider a few things: - Decide early on what work you want done and agree on a price - Make sure they scrape all residual popcorn from all corners where ceiling meets wall - Don't allow them to be in a rush to dry the texture if you plan to have them paint - don't have them crank the heat on and dispurse the dust throughout house until dust has been cleaned up, wiped down etc.. If I were to do this again, I would shut off my heat system. for the day. - And finally, I feel the cost was too much for the work they performed In short, they were prompt, they worked hard and they tried hard to finish in one day. I do feel they do good work, but just be clear up front with what you want done and communicate clearly what your expectations are. I would hire Cesare and the Painters again. - I understand some ceilings can be pretty rough looking once the popcorn has been scraped off, or you may have ceiling joists that are warped and may now become noticeable in the right lighting. Because of this, decide ahead of time if you feel you may want to have the ceiling(s) floated with mud to smooth out high and low spots. You would want this done prior to texturing and priming.

We emptied the bedroom of all furniture, removed all electrical face plates, curtains, ceiling and wall lights taped / masked everything. Bathroom consisted of the ceiling (10 x 10), a partial wall and the powder room walls and ceiling (4 x 4). Everything was removed, taped, covered in plastic or paper ready to paint. The "deal" was for 2 painters for a day. Big issue was only one worked. They did not finish the job. And after they were done they removed all the tape and masking we did only to have to do it again to finish the job. Then their lead person Carlos informed me that they also charge for rollers used at $5.00 each. Very, very disappointed. Would not recommend.

Cesar was punctual and very professional through the whole process. His crew finished a 2 day job in one. I would recommend hime to anyone.

Cesar and the Painters is skilled, well-equipped and tightly organized. The crew arrived on time, set up quickly, and worked full days over a three-day period. During the project, the crew discovered problems not covered in the original contract and pointed them out. We kept the crew on to make these further repairs under a separate contract.

Cesar discovered the problem while working on another project. We made a separate contract for repairing damage, and extending insulations into an area where the builder had neglected to put it. The crew is properly equipped and tightly organized. They arrived on time and worked diligently. On the basis of their performance, I contracted with the crew for a much bigger project.

It went poorly, especially when I complained as stated above. I expected a professional paint job and the issues that I had addressed to Cesar to be properly taken care of. NONE OF THAT WAS DONE.

They were great. They were on time and finished in less time than they thought it would take. I'll definitely use them on other parts of our house.

Excellent job from scheduling, problem sieving to getting the job done. We have two very large rooms that have not been painted in 14 years, the ceilings had black streaks. We washed and primed the ceiling with Kilz as recommended by the store where we bought out paint. It worked fine, with the exception of some places not covering well. The paint crew called Cesar to come inspect but continued to paint while waiting his arrival. He inspected and between my husband and him decided not to pursue the ceiling but concentrate on the walls. I was not sure just how much two painters could get done in 8 hours so had two extra areas ready in case. They got to both areas just fine. We asked them to leave the taping up (as I am very finicky and just knew I would want to redo most of it) in case we needed it and until I figured out the problem with the ceiling. To my surprise, there was no need for additional work as their work was precise. The problem with the ceiling was due to the store selling me the wrong Kilz, it was not meant to cover semi-gloss and I had asked specifically that question. Stores bad. I greatly appreciated Cesar coming from another job miles away to inspect the problem, I respect his decision not to proceed with the ceiling. Finished product: 20x20 room taped, walls painted (ceiling one coat, not their fault)' 16x18 room walls and ceiling taped and painted two different colors, 10x12 room taped and walls painted (we did the ceiling last year), 12x14 wall painted. Excellent job! I have read a complaint about sales tax and wish to inform everyone that I have paid sales tax on all the certificates I purchased and in fact the certificate clearly stated sales tax not included. It is minimal and not worth bad marking a company, judge them on their service I highly recommend Cesar and the a Painters.
