When they first showed up they were enthusiastic, and then as day by day different people would come, so instead of a job that was suppose to take a few days turned into a couple weeks. They were professional and courteous, and pleasant to work with. They were great painters, but when it came to the siding, I felt they weren't skilled enough, I felt like if I didn't show them what to do, or stand there and watch them, they would try to cut corners. They did work with me to get the job done right.

The service was okay. It ended up being like $4,000. The finished work was severely lacking. My interaction with the workers was good. I would not use them again unless I have to. They were good for what they did, but I do not think I would hire them again.

They did a bad job. They left popcorn on the ceiling and did not match the walls with the ceiling. They left giant blobs on the wall and advised me to sand down the wall which is not impossible because they painted it.

The only thing that I would ding them on would be the quality of the work with regards to prepping for painting. They did install new trim pieces, such as around the garage door or the corners of the house, and did not prep them before painting. As a consequence, some of the new paint has chipped off where the underlying paint was chipping, or where we pulled out old staples that were painted over. The work with the siding, though, was excellent!

Terrible false advertising bait and switch. His special is only intended to get customers in to generate more expensive work. We had completed the majority of the work already. The popcorn ceilings were perfectly and completely scraped. I'm talking, smooth. I've done this work before and know exactly how it will look with light texture sprayed on the sheetrock's smooth original tape job. It is very smooth and ready for texture. This special is BOGUS. Angie's List Users BEWARE of this business. They took over a week to respond and it took forever to get any response. Nov 5 I messaged him, I left my phone and email address He responded on Angie's List and said Great I will call you Waited for his call No call, nothing Waited I called and left a message Waited Nov 10 I messaged him again ugh He finally made it out Nov 14 because he said he had to see it first Nov 17 I messaged him again advising I was waiting for an estimate Nov 17 I messaged him giving him my email address again, just in case he lost it Finally on Nov 18 I received his email asking me to pay the price of $1314.00 to spray texture on 3 smooth ceilings, (no scraping) which was 4 times his advertised special price, for both scraping and re-texturing. I had already taped a room off for them as well, which he saw. I emailed him back saying that could he please come closer to his advertised price I had responded to and that I would pay $550 for spraying texture on 3 ceilings, no prep work required, just taping two rooms off with plastic draping, which he does normally anyways. He would not even try to help us for $550. The scraping is the hard part, not the spraying texture, and we had already done the scraping. All three ceilings are perfectly smooth and texture is all it needs I advised him, we would be happy with that. Terrible customer service he wouldn't even meet us halfway and said this coupon don't work for you and you more than welcome to call Angies list just make sure you tell them that you already removed the popcorn. Sticking point. We did half his work, so we should pay 4 times his special. I should mention that he himself stated when he was there to bid for the work that the ceiling looked perfectly smooth and that we did a great job scraping off the popcorn. Do not believe this guys special advertised price. He does not intend to scrape popcorn off of 3 ceilings and then spray texture on it for 349 it is a scam and a waste of half the month trying to get a response.
Description of Work: I would like to report a bait and switch scam by Cesar & The Painters. His special was for an unbelievable price, and it is just that, unbelievable and untrue. Here was his Angie's List advertised special, 3 bedrooms of scraping popcorn ceiling removal including ceiling retexturing for three bedrooms, price 349.00. He did not even have to scrape any popcorn off our 2 bedroom and living room home. We already did the time consuming popcorn removal ourselves. The ceiling is perfectly smooth, no sanding nor mud required, ready for texturing. Is Cesar willing to texture for us for $349? No! Excuses, excuses, excuses, for half the work he is advertising to charge for! He said that because we already scraped the popcorn off that he can't honor that price, and gave me a bid for just re-texturing for $1314.00! We already scraped and the ceiling is perfectly smooth. I have scraped and created a beautiful smooth white ceiling on a previous house project, so I know Really I would like to see how many real receipts he has for his special offer. I don't believe he has any. I asked him to show me where he honored his special. This special is meant only to drum up business and get customers in. First he took 2 weeks to respond to my message asking for the deal. Then instead of him telling me to purchase the deal he said interestingly that he needed to come out to bid for it. Why would he need to bid for it. I informed him we had already done the hard part of scraping the popcorn off and the ceilings were smooth and original tape was done well. For 2 bedrooms and a living room he said the cost would be 1314.00 just re-texture it. Beware and do not get drawn in by his so-called special. It is a waste of time and energy and he doesn't honor his pricing even for less work than he advertises in his deal.

“Thank you for your feedback because we always want to do excellent work. Unfortunately, you did NOT purchase the Angie’s list offer but we could not have honored it anyway because as you said, you had removed the popcorn ceiling yourself which voided the offer. Plus, results of an asbestos test are required in the offer but you refused to show that to me. So in my professional opinion you needed the drywall damage to your ceilings repaired, textured, primed and painted which I estimated to take 2 days of work. I tried to help by providing a reduced quote of $1200 but you said you only wanted to pay $500. I’m sorry that we couldn’t come to an agreement but I hope your ceilings are finished to your satisfaction soon. FYI…I run these offers often on Angie’s list and have sold 56 so far.”

Cesar and his team did a great job removing some outdated popcorn ceiling texture from our home. He was easy to communicate with, very friendly and trust worthy. When Cesar wasn't onsite, his brother, Carlos took the lead. I always felt like I had a point of contact if I had any questions about their progress or next steps. His pricing is extremely competitive and the crew did a great job cleaning up after a very messy job. Thank you Cesar!

Cesar has a very professional contract. He is with the crew the majority of the time. However, the paint job was not up to par. No cover was put on the ground to catch the paint chips from the scraping. I have paint chips everywhere. There is overspray on the decorative rocks, grass, landscape timbers and sides of the cement stairs. Some of the trim was not painted the trim color. There are spots that were not painted. I contacted them to come back for a "punch list". They didn't show for the first scheduled time, or for the second time. When I did all the touch up I could, I noticed many spots that were missed. Also, the paint was sprayed on, I don't think there was any back brushing. Some of the paint is beginning to peel after only two months. I expect that I will need to have the house painted again in about two years. Yes, the price was very good, but it will cost me much more in the long run. I would not recommend Cesar and the Painters for a paint job.

BEWARE of this company for siding work! I had to stop them in the middle of the job because everything they had done so far had issues, and I didn't want to get even further along and have bigger problems. Their Business Description says "Over 10 years of experience. Master craftsmanship and excellent work. " However, their contractor's license is only a year old, and their work was anything but craftsman-like. I don't think any of the crew had any real knowledge of how to do the job. Here's the story: I contacted Cesar based on an Angie's List deal for siding. I wanted my whole house done, and he came out and measured and we talked about the job. He seemed friendly and answered all my questions. He said he would email me a quote that day, but it wasn't until after I emailed him the following day that I got the quote and terms back in email. And even then, some of the descriptions in the quote of work to be done didn't apply to my house (even though the measurements did). The first thing that concerned me was that the terms that were sent in email were really boilerplate like they were pulled out of a template, which in itself is not a problem, but the problem was that the terms mentioned nothing about siding. It was all about painting. I should have realized then that this company is a painting contractor and not a siding contractor. However, I talked with Cesar on the phone and he mentioned all the siding jobs they were doing. We scheduled the job to start on a Monday about two weeks from that date. A few days before the start date, I hadn't heard anything from them, so I contacted Cesar and he informed me that because another job was running late, he wouldn't be able to start on that Monday, but it would be 2-3 days. Again I didn't hear from him so I contacted him on Wednesday and he said they'd be there Friday (4 days late). Cesar showed up with 3 guys to start pulling off the existing vertical siding. I gave Cesar a check for $7000 for the deposit (written directly to Cesar because he asked me to and said I'd save the sales tax). On a side note, I overheard him talking on the phone to someone saying that they should go to Angie's List to request their money be refunded (not sure if this was a dissatisfied customer or someone who just didn't want to follow through with a job). After walking around the house and explaining some things to his workers, Cesar left, and it was apparent the remaining men had very poor English and would not be able to answer questions or do what I asked. Cesar asked me to call him if I had questions and he would tell the workers. After pulling off the siding on (almost) 3 sides of my house, they put Tyvek on one side. However, they left huge gaps in the Tyvek around windows, overlapped the bottom layer over the top, and one corner came off after they left, hanging down off the side of the house. The following Monday, nobody showed up to resume work. I texted Cesar to find out what was going on, and he told me that they had an issue and he had to send the crew somewhere else, and they would be back the next day. The next day, same thing, nobody showed up. He actually called me about 8:30 and informed me that they had another job that went bad and they were having to pull all of the siding back off the house and start over, and that it was going to cost him $10,000. He was really apologetic and said I could have my money back, but if we continued it would be about a week and a half before they could start again. Well, not wanting to go through the process of getting my money back and finding another contractor if it was just going to be a week or so, I said I'd wait. I mentioned the still-exposed house and the Tyvek hanging down, and he said he'd send someone out to fix it. A few days later on a Sunday morning, three guys showed up in a van and started putting more Tyvek on the house. I had to go out for several hours and when I came back they were gone, but I went around to see what they had done. I was really upset by what I saw: - There was trim and siding still remaining over the top of three windows on one side of the house, and they put the Tyvek right over the trim and siding - There were nails still sticking out of the sheathing and they put the Tyvek right over them - They overlapped the horizontal seams the wrong way (bottom piece over the top piece) and overlapped only by a small bit - The holes they cut in the Tyvek for outlets and windows were _huge_ with gaps of 3-6" from where they needed to be - They wrapped *over* the electric conduit to the meter - They wrapped over the dryer duct and didn't cut a hole. I realized it because they dryer was running and causing a huge section to bulge out from the wall, so I cut a hole to let the air out. - I also noticed that when pulling siding off the house, they didn't cut the siding that was between the deck and the house - they just broke off the siding! There were jagged edges sticking out from under the deck board. Definitely not right, and now I am wondering if I have to have my deck attachment to the house redone. There was a lot more wrong with the Tyvek to the point I simply lost confidence in their ability to get the job done right. After all, if they couldn't get the Tyvek right, why should I believe they could get the harder stuff right? I got the impression that these guys knew nothing about siding and just decided one day to start doing it. I asked when they were going to return and got no reply. It was then I just decided to get my money back. At that point I checked out the WA L&I web site (which I should have done first). As it turns out, the company has been in business for only a year, and amazingly enough, their license was suspended (as of 6/18/15) because their insurance had expired (their license has since been reinstated on 7/14/2015). I also found it interesting that they reported zero employees in QA 2015, when I know I've seen at least six different people just at my house. They are just not fully on the up and up. You can verify all this for yourself: https://secure.lni.wa.gov/verify/Detail.aspx?UBI=603396191&LIC=CESAR%2aP866LO&SAW= After I asked for my money back, Cesar said he was happy to do it, but it would take 2-3 weeks, and "he was working hard to get my money back". That statement basically indicated to me that they are barely scraping by and using the money from each job to fund the previous job like a Ponzi scheme, and their mistakes and rework are costing them any profit, so they're running hard to make up for the losses (all my opinion). He is now taking 3-4 days to answer emails, and still not giving me a date other than 3 weeks from the time I asked for the refund. Of course now he's saying there will be a number of things deducted from the refund (even though they screwed the job up and I'll have to pay someone to fix their mistakes). I'm happy to pay for labor to remove siding and for materials that don't have to be removed and replaced, but I get the feeling I'll be charged a lot more (I still haven't seen an invoice). So now I have a house with siding torn off three sides, really bad Tyvek on 2-1/2 sides (that needs to be redone), and I am still waiting for my $7000 back. Definitely beware of using this company for siding work. I think they've bitten off more than they can chew with siding.
Description of Work: They were hired to replace the siding on my house. Approx 2500 square feet of siding. Included tear-off, putting on Tyvek, new trim, siding, and painting.

Originally I gave a bad review because the job was not done right but I called Cesar and he is committed to fixing everything including buying me brand new exterior shade that were ruined during the painting process, fixing the broken rail, caulking the exterior of the house as required and repainting the trim and other areas as needed. This is the best response I have ever received from a contractor. His integrity and commitment to his customers is second to none, It will likely cost him more to fix the issues than he made on this job which is just amazing that he would own the problems I have never had a contractor step up without compliant or push back, This is my painter from now on . The work went fairly well. He did not seem to know that the front door had weather stripping and that should be removed before the door was painted. He did not ask me to stay home when the three doors were to be painted. He sprayed them when I had gone out and the when I returned home that day he had the edges painted with a brush. He asked me to keep the doors open to dry for two hours which I did. Next morning all three doors were "stuck" and when forcibly opened the the edges of the doors and the door jams were bad:-areas where they had stuck the paint had come off..He painted them a second time-but even after several hours of keeping them open the front door stuck again the next morning. This was the day after he said the work was "finished"-At that point he gave me an invoice-and insisted that I write a check "right now". He had promised a 5% discount before I signed the contract which included the provision that he would clean up after the job was complete and all garbage was removed. The windows were still streaked with the stain when the house was first washed and all was not put back where they should have been. He said he would charge a fee of 3% if I wanted to use a credit card. I did not have that much money in my checking account and needed a day to make sure my personal check did not bounce. But he had one of his workers stand out side my door waiting for the check. I was intimidated and so I wrote a check from my Vanguard's investment account. Two days later I received an e mail from Vanguard-to call them-which I did and learnt that I had use an old check book-so they would not honor the check-I called Cesar immediately. I had also asked a handyman over the weekend about the weather stripping in the front door. This handy man does a lot of painting jobs too and he said that the weather stripping should be always removed before a door is painted.I asked him to remove it and he said that he would return and replace it after the painter cleans up, primes the bare wood areas and repaints. That I should wait several days before the weather stripping is replaced. Of course I would now have to pay the handyman. I called Cesar and told him about the check and about the weather stripping and that the front door had stuck again and what the handyman had said and done. He sent one of his crew to look at the door-and when the crew member arrived he immediately went on the offensive-"once you let someone touch our job we are no longer responsible" etc. etc. I insisted he call Cesar which he did -I called him too and he said he will come in twenty minutes. I realized that he thought here is an old lady living alone and not able to walk much( I have chronic plantar fasciitis in both feet and cannot walk much. So I called a younger man who is a friend and he came over from his work- that worked!. This friend has six motels that he runs and has a lot of people doing various jobs on these motels so he was able to convince Cesar that the weather stripping should always be removed before painting a door. This was yesterday .He did ask his worker to clean the windows and replace a table and a ramp back on the patio He refused to accept the new check I had already written from the new checkbook. This morning he came and picked it up and said he would deposit it if his bank tells him that the original check had not been honored. Then we shook hands and he left.
Description of Work: RE stained my house exterior. MY house is completely shingled- except the foundation. There were some exposed gas lines going to a generator etc. I also have a cement patio with a metal railing. the patio is painted red, the railing is gray as is the house. He cleaned and prepped the pipes, railings, soffets etc. and then did the staining . He used a technique of spray, roll, and then spray a second coat. this went very quickly as they were five workers all working together.
