I needed some drywall repair and painting done after my basement flooded. I would use Wall Doctor in the past and decided to call them for this job. I got a quick estimate and they were able to be on the job as soon as the basement was dried out. In addition to the repairs, I wanted a new wall and door built, and they worked with me to figure out the best way to design it. I had to leave on vacation in the middle of the job, but when I returned I found a beautiful new basement with paint colors and textures perfectly matched. I highly recommend the Wall Doctor!

Work date is approximate. I'm writing this now since I've just joined AL to look for a contractor to fix the problem. This job was botched so badly that we are now paying to have it done again. First they discovered, after the estimate, that the tile in our bathroom contained asbestos glue. My only complaint about this is that they knew the house was older & likely had this issue, but didn't discuss up front. Consequently, work stopped until an abatement firm could come out to remove the tile. Abatement firm took out the entire subfloor (tile still attached). To do so, they pried it up using our tub as a fulcrum, knocking a large piece of enamel off the tub. Contractor initially denied causing the damage, but "before" photos proved they had done it so it was repaired by a third firm. When Wall Doctor replaced the subfloor, they used material 1/4" thinner than the old. Unfortunately, we didn't realize it until after everything was done and our new toilet arrived, so our toilet now sits above the floor by that amount. We've had to pay to have a piece of ceramic tile placed under the toilet to avoid damage to the seal and the pipe. This is less than attractive, to say the least. Also, when they put down the floor and glued down the new tile, they didn't cut a hole for the heating vent. We had to bring them back out to find the vent and cut a hole. The lead on the job was extremely rude to my wife, refusing to accept anything she told him until it was cleared with "the man of the house". He made her so uncomfortable with his attitude and the way he looked at her that she left the house, while he was there, for the remainder of the job. My understanding is that he is no longer with the company. After a couple of months, we noticed that water damage was again occurring next to the tub (this is what started the whole remodel in the first place). Since we had installed a surround and a set of glass doors, I didn't understand how this could be happening. Upon examination, I discovered that Wall Doctor had not caulked between the glass doors & the wall, so water that got into the door track and escaped through the weep holes was running to the wall and soaking the drywall. A lead came out, shook his head at the floor problem but offered to fix the leak. He pulled out the glass doors and "fixed" the problem. A few weeks later I found the same damage happening again. At this point, we decided to write off the Wall Doctor for good. I caulked the seam along the tub myself and fixed the leak and had the previously mentioned tile installed under the toilet. We've lived with this for a few years, but are tired of tripping on the seam when we leave the bathroom and stubbing our toe on the tile under the toilet, so we will spend the money to have the entire thing done again. I've rated WD a "D" rather than "F" because they did try to fix the issues (except for the floor heighth) and were very responsive in doing so. I just don't think they really knew what they were doing.

I got a couple of estimates for a couple of different things and his prices were too high than the other estimates. He told me during the estimate process that he cost more because he did a better job. He was fine. He was polite, appropriate and very professional. It was mostly his pricing for me. I am sure that the people who wanted to spend more money would love his work. He got an external paint quote on my house within thirty minutes.
Description of Work: I received an estimate from Wall Doctor in April 2011 for steel rail cable railings. I also had him quote for getting rid of my popcorn ceiling, which was the main thing that I had called him for.

We have also had the WD do some minor remodeling in our kitchen, and other interior painting on other occasions. Each time we were very satisfied. Pricing is a bit more than the cheapest you will find, but the great quality and lack of hassle with low bidders is worth it to me. I would avoid jobs where the WD is directly sub-contracting to another company though, the pricing gets too high in my opinion. If their guys are doing the work (most of the time) you can count on a great job.
Description of Work: The WD repaired drywall in our ceiling after a plumbing leak. This included the drywall, re-texture, and re-paint/priming the entire ceiling. They did a great job, very professional, etc...

They were very good. They were apologetic about the time they took to finish the work. They tried to make amendments in the price. They also gave us tickets to the local restaurant. It was a good company. They did a great job. They also gave me a certificate of $100 because of the inconvenience we had. They were very professional.
Description of Work: We used Wall Doctor to replace the ceiling in the master bedroom. They first put the ceiling, and we did not like what they did. So they removed it and put the ceiling again. They also did some painting.

I had a good and informative discussion with Gary when he came to look over the job. In about 2 days, he emailed the quote to me. I accepted the quote and they scheduled to start the next week. The crew (two guys) showed up promptly as scheduled, reviewed the work with me, and got right to work. The same two guys did all the steps of the job. It took 3 days, as expected. Hanging drywall is a messy job, but they masked the floor appropriately and cleaned up when they were done. There was a mess of white "chalk" dust outside for the 3 days, but they cleaned it up at the end of the job. I'm happy with the quality of work. This is the second time we've used The Wall Doctor -- this experience was as good as the first.
Description of Work: Hung drywall, primed, and textured the walls and ceilings of a bedroom and bathroom.
These guys are great! I had extensive water damage in my condo and they were hired by my association board members. I was in good hands with this company. They were professional at all times. I can only remember a few names, but Rick, both Bryans and Brandon were fantastic. I was frusterated with moving out of my home while they did the damage repair work, but they assured me that my belongings would be safe and the work would be done well and in good time. They came through with their promises. After the work was done (drywall, paint, carpet, flooring and tile repair) they put my belongings back in place and cleaned up! A big thank you to this team and I would highly recommend them. Happy customer in Everett, WA

I love the Wall Doctor. Several years ago I had them replace moisture damaged peak of my cathedral ceiling living room between two beams. They did a wonderful job (second time I had had it repaired) in a difficult place which has stood the test of time. So when I wanted the new project completed I only made one call. Jason came out promptly listened carefully to my desired revisions and talked to the cabinet man who happened to be here at the same time. The first crew came out and took out the old paneling and cupboards and roughed in the openings for the new cabinets after an e-mail exchanged of plans. When the window was ready and the cabinets completed another crew came out and completed the drywall and installation over a day and a half. My wallboard repair in the bedroom was also well done. The crew were business like and very neat. We can hardly wait to do our part, the painting and reassemble our family room. The Wall Doctor is really a general contractor who can supply crafts people to do a wide variety of services. I will not hesitate to call them again in the future.
Description of Work: I wanted the 1950's paneling surrounding my family room fireplace replaced with wallboard,a small window installed, a built in cabinet replaced with drop in cupboard made by Acorn Cabinets as well as a second cabinet installed on a different wall in the same room. I had them replace a small section of wallboard in the master bedroom that had some ancient water damage as well.

The Wall Doctor behaved as a general contractor should - even though they weren't! Their lead on the project, Rod Fletcher, could do anything. He maintained continual coordination with alll his workers and subs, with the other companies, and with us. He resolved numerous problems. When the new sinks (that I bought) didn't fit with the vanity cabinet (bought from another company) Rod was out the door, and back within two hours, with new sinks - just in time for the marble installation. The demolition and removal went smoothly, with no collateral damage. The electrical and plumbing proceeded on schedule, including a couple of up-scope activities that weren't allowed to impact the schedule of other work. The quality of painting is excellent. All installations work as good or better than expected.
Description of Work: The Wall Doctor was one of three companies involved with our Master Bath remodel, but Gary Borracchini knew the other two, and from the start, agreed to work within our price to make sure all things came together. His company specifically did the demolition and removal; new plumbing and electrical; coooordination and installation of new shower; prep and painting of walls, trim and doors; installation of doors, lighting, a cabinet, mirrors, towel racks - and all the miscellaneous tasks to assure a complete job.

As our bathroom remodel was winding up, we authorized Gary to proceed with painting the bedroom on a Time&Materials basis. The work proceeded in parallel with completing the bathroom. The quality of work is excellent. The schedule seemed a little longer than expected, but not enough to cause a problem. We did have an issue with one part of the billing. Although it appeared at first that we couldn't communicate on this issue, to his credit, Gary persisted, and eventually the issue was settled to our complete satisfaction.

This is the first time we have done something to remodel our town home. We are not do-it-yourself fixer-uppers. My husband and I both work and the Wall Doctor crew came and went as needed, even when we weren't there. They were clean in their work and in their cleanup, both during the job and after. It was an expensive procedure for our two small bathrooms, but the result is outstanding. Matt Light gave a good estimate, spelled out all the details in a contract, and kept in good contact.
Description of Work: We had taken out our two small bathroom sinks and cabinets and we took off the wallpaper in them as well, so the walls were in need of repair. Wall Doctor came out, gave an estimate, and we set a date. They finished taking off scraps of wallpaper, re-did the walls over two days, and then painted them on a third day. They have very professional dry wall specialists and painters. The walls are really beautiful now.

We initially contacted The Wall Doctor to replace the ceiling in the dining room when we purchased the house. The ceiling had water damage. They were prompt in coming out and gave us a good price to do the work. As we needed to have the house rewired we held off on this project until the electrical work was complete. In the meantime we remodeled the kitchen and called TWD in when we pulled most of the lath and plaster off the walls while removing the cabinets. They came out again to estimate the job and again gave us a fair bid. When coming to do the work they were extremely prompt, the workers were friendly and professional and took great care not to cause damage of any kind. Even though this type of work creates a lot of dust they kept the work area clean and when they left you didn't know they were there. The walls they worked on were far from level and they managed to make things flat, which was necessary for hanging the cabinets. After this first great experience it was easy to utilize this company for our other two wall projects. As expected the same professionalism and care was exhibited even though different crews were sent out on each occasion. Quality and efficiency were proven on all three projects. As far as the fourth project in the bathroom goes we felt they came in very high on the estimate. I felt that because they would be sub-contracting some of the work out that the price was marked up quite a bit. By using different contractors that we hired on our own we saved substantially over TWD's bid. I'm sure they would have done a good job but we are getting this result without their help.
Description of Work: I have used the business on three occasions and had them bid on a fourth project. The work they did was 1) replaced the drywall in the kitchen which was being completely remodeled, 2)replace the ceiling in the dining room, 3)repair/replace drywall that was damaged due to the house being rewired from nob & tube. They also bid on an extensive bathroom project which included wall work, tile work and a few other things. We did not use them for this last project.

The job started out in chaos because the painter had primed almost all the walls to "mark" where the drywall work should take place. However, instead of helping, this completely covered up the walls and the drywallers could not see what was to be done at all! Carlos from Wall Doctor arrived. He was excellent and cool under pressure. He immediately called to get a supervisor out to assess and figure out how to proceed. Rob arrived and between Rob's drywall and painting expertise and Carlos' experience and great attitude, the project was on it's feet before mid-day. Jesse came on days 3 and 4 and proved also to be a detailed, polite, knowledgeable drywaller. The job turned out beautifully. We even got more work done than originally spec'd but still came in on budget! I must say though, that better communication between Matt Light the Wall Doctor employee who bid our job with the painter present, and the workers who actually did the drywall work would have prevented much of the chaos. There didn't seem to be any of the necessary follow through or follow up there.
Description of Work: We had been violated by an unscrupulous painter (see reports for Tyler Painting) who completely ruined all the wall work we had a contractor do previous to his arrival. We called the Wall Doctor to get the drywall work redone in preparation for another painter. This included patching holes where electrical work was done, skimming whole walls to even out, repair water damage and retexture and to repair paint applied over bare mud. Wall Doctor also reworked the perimeter of our fireplace/chimney/ceiling. Re-skimmed and repaired skylight box.

The work was estimated at 2 persons for 1-1/2 to 2 days, and was estimated at about $2600 (including tax) just for the wall prep and texture plus about another $1000 for painting. The workers finished in about 5-6 hours, and Wall Doctor refunded $500 due to "one less skim coat being needed." During the work they didn't adequately cover the switches and outlets themselves. They actually sprayed texture along the electrical contacts on one outlet and tripped the GFCI. When I talked to them on the phone later, they mentioned the problem but not that they hadn't actually restored power. They also left some smears in the texture and didn't cover up a small area, but when I called they readily sent out a very good person who touched everything up, filled some small holes and textured into some corners the other guys missed. The original workers would get a C for quality, and the touch-up would get an A so I'll average them out.
Description of Work: Primed and orange peel textured a small bathroom. Skimmed, primed and knock down textured a 10x10 bedroom. This bedroom had previously had a knock-down texture that was skimmed and wall papered over, and we'd tried to get back to the texture, but eventually gave up. The walls were an uneven texture before the Wall Doctor's work. They only textured the walls, not the ceiling. We discussed scaling projects, and at a minimum we wanted the two rooms prepped for painting, then also to find out how much it would cost to paint. The estimator indicated the larger project would need a wallpaper specialist, and so we didn't get that.
