The estimate took a bit longer than expected, but once the work commenced everything went smoothly. The job took three consecutive weekdays to complete, taking advantage of the weekend to let the drywall tape cure. The repair required the skills of a carpenter, a dry wall contractor and a painter. Each arrived on site promptly, was well prepared and went to work immediately. They were knowledgeable, experienced and courteous. The site was cleaned up at the end each day. We had them come out to do some finish work with the door. Overall, very happy with the repairs.
Description of Work: Repair of house side garage wall and entry door jamb. Extensive damage to load bearing wall, requiring realigning the wall and door sill, replacing severed studs, replacing dry wall, fire tape and knock down plaster finish. Also repair of damaged dry wall in a bedroom ceiling.

The workers did and excellent job. They... 1. Arrived when scheduled. 2. Worked diligently to complete the job efficiently. 3. Were friendly and professional. 4. Covered the floor before starting work and thoroughly cleaned up the work area after the job was completed. 5. But most importantly, their workmanship was absolutely wonderful. The new wall looks great!!!! 6. Dry walled an entire living room wall, complete with taping and mudding and all without creating any dust. 7. Billed the job per the parameters we agreed to before the project started. As part of the cost was billed at a worker hourly rate, we were very impressed by the diligence and efficiency of the workers. There was no fooling around or idle time. Great job Todd!

We had a toilet leak that caused the drywall in the bathroom below to get damaged. They came out right away and fixed it and did a great job. It was still a bit wet when they first got here, so they rescheduled several days later (at no charge) so they could wait until it properly dried. I really like that they took the extra effort to make sure it was done right.

Rob came out on a Friday to do a walk-through for some drywall & painting work I needed to have done. He promised me an estimate by the following Wednesday (even earlier). Wednesday came and went - no estimate. I called an left him a voicemail - nothing. Called and left a second voicemail the following Monday - still no estimate, and no returned phone call. Called and left one more voicemail later that day - again, no estimate, no returned phone call. Completely unprofessional. If you don't want my business, at least have the common courtesy to call me back and say so.

If I could give an A+ for everything I would. Learning that I had been without hot water, washer, dryer, dishwasher or a shower for a week already, Gary scheduled me in immediately. The workers have been punctual, professional and efficient. If the site was safe they didn't care if I let my cats "help" them! They kept me fully informed of the progress (and when to keep the kitties out!) Gary was very easy to get hold of. I especially appreciated Nate, who even got me a Starbucks when he went there on a break while waiting for the primer to dry! He's a pleasant hard worker and does a super job. All the other workers were excellent too. I HIGHLY recommend The Wall Doctor. It has been my best contractor experience ever.

Nice man but a) virtually impossible to get a hold of - it took us nearly a month to get a bid and b) the bid was 50% more than the one we ended up with (Master Stucco) whom came out to our house, gave us a bid, and completed the job in a week.

This company was a lifesaver and as luck would have it, were able come the next day and fix the damage done to the drywall after a kitchen demolition. Todd did go beyond the scope of the work requested/needed since large parts of the wall were to be covered by cabinets, but he did a great job. We are in a condo and I was very impressed with how thoroughly Todd cleaned up after finishing, I was quite pleased that there was NO debris outside where he hosed off a tarp. Thank you!

Rob Wyndham from The Wall Doctor took our phone call promptly and scheduled an appointment to give us a bid after doing a brief phone consult with my husband to assess the job. Rob arrived on-time and was able to answer all our questions and concerns regarding our kitchen project. He submitted an clear, in-depth job estimate (cost, time, and materials) via email the next day. We knew the job would take about 6 hours and were able to schedule it on a day that worked for us within 1.5 weeks of getting the job estimate. Carlos and Nicholas (The Wall Doctor construction employees) arrived right on time and never slowed down. They were polite, professional and careful with our home. Even better, they were very skilled and did an amazing job!! The end result is exactly what we hoped for and we are loving our newly updated kitchen exhaust system. We plan to use The Wall Doctor again for an update to our bathroom next year.

They have a special system for soundproofing. They had someone who did the finished carpentry which was very helpful too. They were timely. They did the job on time. The quality is there. They were trustworthy too because they were in our home while we weren't here. Putting in a soundproofing system is a unique service. Overall, their knowledge and understanding of the system was superior.

Very well as I had contracted with them about a year ago to do a downstairs bathroom remodel due to a leak and turned into a remodel of shower, tile and painting. also painted family room, re-rocked with cultured stone an oversized old fireplace. That project turned out great. This project was rather large also but more time and materials type of work. The attention to detail was extensive as they had to match the new crowns to existing in kitchen and in living room over entertainment area, but they did a great job! Looks like it has always been there. Extensive painting and it looks great. Other small projects but it all turned out very well.. Since this was based on time and materials there was a small issue with time which was an issue on added dollars, however it was corrected without issue. Overall excellent to work with, price could be a bit high, however.... I have spent over 50K with this company on projects and would recommend them for future work.
Description of Work: Extensive crown ceiling moldings, painting( of all moldings as well as dining, living, halls, stairwells, powder room, master bed and bath and painted all ceilings in home), under counter lighting (kitchen and utility), changed kitchen faucets, drain pipes.

We renovated a room ourselves and hired The Wall Doctor to texturize some walls in preparation for us to paint. We also asked for a bid on a project involving an addition. Wall Doctor had the BEST customer service by far compared to 3 other companies I contacted. Their communication was excellent - they were quick to return calls and emails (within 24 hours compared to other companies who took 2-3 days or never returned calls/emails). They sent someone to do the texturizing (it was a small job) within a week of us contacting them, and he did a terrific job masking off windows/existing walls, texturizing and seamlessly feathering it in on existing walls, plus cleaning up when he was done. He was very professional and friendly. Regarding the bid on a larger project, they had excellent communication and Tom, the estimator, seemed very knowledgeable, was very easy-going, willing to work with us on ideas we had, and had a "can-do" attitude. Soooo refreshing compared to some other companies whose reps complained about current customers or acted like some of our ideas were going to be difficult to implement. When we stopped the bidding process (a General Contractor we've worked with on previous projects was able to work us into his schedule), Gary at the Wall Doctor was very courteous, professional, and nice about it. If future projects come up, they'll be the first company I'll check with. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat.

What went well: The Wall Doctor was very responsive compared to other providers I contacted to get a quote and they were very fast in getting started. The demo went very well. They covered every piece of furniture and carpet and sealed off the area, limiting the amount of dust in the other areas. They were accommodating of changes without over charging. The finished product is actually very good. What did not go well: The project was supposed to last a week and went on for three. There were a few issues that happened. The crew messed up a wall and had to re-do it 2 times. I was actually very impressed by the fact the vendor would not accept poor quality work from his crew and stood by the work. What went really poorly was the painting, as the team thought we provided the wrong color (we did not) and went out and bought paint of a different color (without telling us) so that the room ended up with different color walls. Mistakes can happen, but then they tried to tell us they used the paint we provided, while taking away all cans (they originally had left the leftover paint which was a different brand than what we bought and would have proved the point). The lead person saw through this and they fixed the issue at no charge, but it was yet another delay

We have used The Wall Doctor several times in the last 15 years. For minor drywall patching to finishing portions of the basement, including a basement ceiling with sound insulation, basement room drywall, and drywall finishing. They are very efficient and the work is very neat and professional. They have been punctual and estimates have been right-on. We liked how they wrapped a long basement duct that went below the ceiling, encasing it in drywall so it looked good, with two exposed vents where there were existing vents. Our basement is challenging, as the foundation height varies from the floor to the ceiling in parts because we are on a hill. I also liked how they have been responsive to putting insulation in the ceiling to help reduce noise from the first floor, and in the walls to help keep noise from the furnace. The finishing work was top-notch as well. We had them patch drywall holes in eight places throughout the house. Each time they nicely matched the orange peel texture and feathered the work in so all it needed was paint. The work was neat, without a ton of dust left over after they cleaned up. I don't think their prices are rock bottom but the quality justifies the price. We would not hesitate to use them again.

The work that was done looks beautiful. I've other people in and quizzed them to see if they can see where the repair work was done, and no one can! The new hood is a dream come true and the cabinetry they installed looks original to the kitchen. I could not be more pleased with the end results.
Description of Work: I had a leak in my kitchen ceiling from the master toilet upstairs. The plumbing had already been repaired, and I just needed someone to do a quick fix to the ceiling. Other than the drywall, there was no further damage to repair. The repair including patching the hole from the plumbing repair/water damage, matching the ceiling texture and painting. ($650) Since I needed a contractor to come out, I also opted to have a new range hood and ducting installed. My current hood was a recirculating fan only and did nothing but blow the smoke in the direction of the waiting smoke detector, which was only too happy to obligingly blare its appreciation every time I cooked anything remotely odorous. I bought the range hood separately and had the contractor install the new hood, remove the old one, and of course put in the ducting and vent outside the house. They also built a surround above the cabinets to hide the duct work, which they stained to match the existing cabinets. ($1250)

I was told that it would be cheaper for me to provide the moulding that I wanted them to install, so the night before the job, I went out and picked up some supplies on my own. The work was scheduled to start at 8am and I was expecting it to take around 1.5 hours, based on the quote. The worker arrived at 8:30am and then took 3 hours to complete the work, which caused the final cost to balloon from $250 to over $400. The quality of the work was good, as he fixed a noise problem in the wall and the final resulting texture looks like a pretty good match to the rest of the wall. After the initial work was completed, they sent me a quote of $466 to paint just the wall they had fixed. It's not a particularly complicated wall (actually, it's about as rectangular as they come), so I couldn't accept the quote. The do good work, but I don't think the quality is sufficient to justify the prices the charge. As such, I cannot recommend them to anyone.
