 + -1 moreKaren has been so helpful to us. We originally thought we were going to repair our old spa. Spa Dr. sent a technician to inspect and tell us what we would need. They were in the process of ordering the parts and were ready to make the repair, when we decided to buy a new spa instead. Karen was completely supportive and even offered help in selecting a new spa. Since then, she has come out to our house about 3 times to help us with the water chemistry and maintenance of the new spa (balancing water, cleaning tub). She has been unfailingly helpful and has given us helpful tips on maintaining the spa ourselves. We won't be continuing monthly service but will always call Karen if we have any further spa care needs. Spa Doctor is definitely highly recommended!!
Description of Work: Inspected and evaluated old spa, ordered parts as needed. When we decided to buy a new spa instead of repairing, Spa Doctor came to our house 3 times for monthly maintenance and care checks.

 + -1 moreThe owner was very friendly and an appointment was made to fit my needs as company was coming soon. Was very informative and thorough with the cleaning and instructions on how to properly care for the spa. The amount charged I felt was extremely reasonable.
Description of Work: Very impressed and completely satisfied with the service performed on my spa. The spa had been turned off for quite a while and was in dire need of maintenance. The owner was very helpful and informative about my spa and really taught me all about the spa and how to perform needed maintenance on it. I will defenintly use this company again!

 + -1 moreSo far they are really good. The solution appeared to have worked. The owner and the technician that came out were both very professional and very punctual. They didn't even follow up on talking about the invoice. The owner was exceptional.
Description of Work: I used The Spa Doctor for my hot tub. They sent a technician out to stop a leak. They gave me a remedy, actually a solution, to put in the water to fix the leak.

 + -1 moreIt went great! Both Pat and Karen are very good about keeping you updated on what's happening, even if it's on the phone. Karen is great at teaching the care of a hot tub. I'd happily use The Spa Doctor again!
Description of Work: I had purchased an older home with an outdoor spa. The jets had stopped working the first time I used it. I also knew very little about how to maintain a spa. Spa Doctor came to my rescue! The tech, Pat, came to check out the spa while I was at work. He called me while he was here to let me know what the problem was (a broken pump). He also told me how much it would cost to do the repair. I decided to go ahead with the work. Karen, the owner, came to show me the basics of how the spa works and how to maintain it properly a few days after Pat had diagnosed the pump problem. She was very informative and personable. She even went through the old spa chemicals and tossed the ones that were expired as well as teaching me how to use the chemicals that I did have as well as the test strips. When Pat came to replace the broken pump, he called me and let me know that it was fixed. He partially filled the spa and had it running and heating before he left.

 + -1 moreA cronic problem that has cost me a lot but that is another story. Called Spa Doctor for fresh advice. I was ready to chain saw the blasted thing into pieces and be rid of it. The technician came out on time, looked it over and said the leak was burried under insulation and tub decking around it made it impossible to fix. We discussed options which boiled down to chain saw or apply leak plugger. He recommended a bottle of stuff ( $45, cheaper on-line) to plug the leak and it did. I put the chain saw away. I have spent hundreds with the rep from the company I bought the tub from and they never suggested this.
Description of Work: Leaking tub from an obscure location. As you will read, they advised me on a follow-on course of action that made my wife happy.

Description of Work: Per our request, we were quoted costs for service, detail cleaning and a new cover. The first order of biz was to fix a leak. It was determined that our Jacuzzi had several leaks and other problems. We were advised to consider getting a new one and they referred us to a reputable dealer. Since a repair wasn't performed, they cut the service charge in half. Nice.

 + -1 moreIt was fantastic. I'm so excited to have The Spa Doctor as a resource for our new hot tub. I feel very comfortable calling/e-mailing them in the future about any little problems or questions I have and they will be the only ones performing maintenance for us.
Description of Work: I bought a house with a hot tub that had been neglected for a year or so. Karen was incredibly responsive to my e-mails and was really patient with my lack of knowledge. She did an amazing job cleaning and servicing our tub, and teaching us how to use it. She even labeled all our chemical bottles so we would know when/how to use them. She even had an extra set of filters and a PH testing kit sent to our house.

 + -1 moreEspecially in this economy where so there are so many people claiming to be what they are not, Karen and her crew are a real find as an alternative to the expensive and uber-frustrating Big Box spa dealers' service departments. I have given up ever trying to deal with Rich's again. Luckily, I won't have to because I've found Karen! They do it all with a smile and consideration for leaving you much better than they find you. From quarterly cleaning to serious repair, my hot tub really is trouble free for me now. I've used them for at least four years, and I wouldn't consider using anyone else. I hugely recommend The Spa Doctor to you! Sorry I didn't post this sooner.
Description of Work: For what is probably the fourth or fifth time (I should have posted this long ago!), Karen has again drained, cleaned, refilled, scrubbed the cover and restored the hot tub to perfect... again! Previously, they fixed the motor to get it going again, fought the red tape for me to get the part, came when they said they would, cost what they said it would, and I didn't even need to be home.

 + -1 moreOur old spa/hot tub was leaking. I found the Spa Doctor on Angie's List and decided to call them. They were very professional on the phone and scheduled a service call within two days. Pat came to the house and looked at the Spa and was unable to repair the leak since the access is very poor. Our spa is over 20 years old and is buried mostly in the ground with wood stairs surrounding it. To be able to repair the leak the wood stairs surrounding the tub would have to be dismantled and then the tub would, most likely, have to be pulled out. Unfortunately, he was unable to tell where the leak was coming from without access. Pat took a lot of time to explain the problem and was very courteous. When I ask what the trip charge would be he said since there was no repair he did not feel it was fair to charge me. There was a follow up with a "thank you" card from the company?s owner which was a nice gesture.
Description of Work: There were no services performed since there was no access to the bottom of the spa.

Sweet! All done, tub's fixed. Pat, thanks for the follow-up call later to make sure it is heating up nicely.

She arrived on time, and did a very thorough job cleaning the tub, then refilled it and explained how to use the necessary chemicals. She also gave me a complete tutorial on how to maintain my hot tub. I did not have spare filters, so she drop shipped one, which arrived two days later. I would highly recommend this company.

 + -1 moreWe had purchased a house with a hot tub built into the the rear deck sometime in the late 1980's, which was mostly functional. After 2 years the main pump quit functioning. After deciding that it would be much cheaper to fix them replace we starting looking for someone to do the work. After contacting several spa dealers in town that listed that they did service, Spa Doctor was the only company that was willing to service the spa regardless of what make it was. They listened to what we wanted to do and afford several suggestions about what would be the best way to do it. They provided prompt, quality service with a friendly attitude. Within a couple of hours of there first visit they gave us the exact total that we payed for the service that was completed the day after they received the parts.
Description of Work: Replaced the pump, blower, and added a digital control system to a 20 year old tub.
