She was very flexible and extremely caring of my home and conscious of her presence there. She taught me things about my hot tub that I was unaware of. She didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. I would recommend the Spa doctor to anyone in her service area.

Comments: Kat arrived on time and accessed the situation. The controls to my hot tub were behind a fair amount of decking. She graciously used her tools and removed all of the planks and part of the steps to get to the controls. I had moved in last year and this was my first experience with a hot tub and a leak. She did a great job!!!

The owner Karen quickly and via text corresponded with me during my conference and arranged to have service the next day! The service woman was friendly and effectively diagnosed the problem. The element needed to be replaced. This is where I ended up giving a B. Because the lady said the part was about $60 but when I got the bill they had charged me $75. However when I emailed Karen she adjusted the invoice to reflect the quoted part price. I would highly recommend them and use them again. Appreciated the price adjustment and gave 10% off parts for AL members!

Excellent. Prompt service for both the repair and the much needed cleaning.

**I left my original review below; however I would like to update my review here. Karen from the Spa Doctor emailed me the day following the posting of this review, and has canceled my invoice, apologized profusely, and assured me that the issue will be addressed with the technician. I really appreciate her professionalism and courtesy, which is a rarity these days.** Setting up an appointment via email with Karen was very easy and pleasant. So I was a bit startled when the technician arrived- she zoomed up our driveway and parked her truck halfway on our lawn! We have a large paved driveway, so there was no reason for this. She was dressed in very, very, dirty, tattered clothes with holes, which I tried to overlook. I explained as clearly as I could what the problem was (that we had installed a new panel, and now the tub was not cleaning properly). She poked around a bit and kept trying to diagnose the problem, by telling me all the things we had done wrong, in a condescending tone, and was saying the panel was working fine (which it wasn't). She then locked out the panel out and didn't know how to unlock it, so I had to find the instruction manual for her, and figure out myself how to unlock it. After much chatter and poking around, she tried to open the side panel to see the electrical system. She almost cracked the wooden panel, because she forgot to unscrew the center screw. She moved some wires around and said "I'm a genius! I fixed it!" and gave me a quick explanation of what she did with the wires. I then asked if she was going to drain the tub, clean it, and get it working, etc. since that was the entire point of the service call, and she acted insulted and said she didn't do that. She told me I'd have to call Karen back to schedule someone else to come out. (?) I also asked about the filtering program cycles for the panel, and she shoved the instruction manual at me and said, "Yeah, it has two cycles, read about it in the manual." I was beyond frustrated! Not only did she not listen to me initially, she did less than half of what I needed to have done to the tub, and on top of everything was condescending and unwilling to explain anything. Finally, when my elderly father nicely asked her to not park on the lawn next time, her reply was, "Well, there's not going to be a next time!!" Seriously? I am a pretty easy going person, but this experience prompted me to write a review, it was so terrible. Bottom line, this service person was SO unprofessional and unpleasant to deal with that I will have to find someone else to come out and finish the work. I would certainly not recommend them to anyone else.

My spa quit heating and I assumed it was the heater element. I initially contacted Karen through her web site and provided her with my thoughts on the problem. She responded to me the very same day and provided me with a quote based on the assumption it was the heater element. Karen said before she ordered the part, because she did not have it in stock but could quickly get it from her vendor, she suggested that the problem be looked at first. Fortunately for me, the problem was not the heating element which saved me approximately $200 to $250. Kat was the actual technician who serviced the spa and she was great. She was very professional and explained everything she was doing and what the problem was and quickly fixed it. I would have no problem calling The Spa Doctor again should I have any problem in the future.

Karen is punctual and professional and is very customer oriented. Earlier this summer, she helped get our hot tub going again after 3 years of no use. She is very thorough and always follows up to make sure things are going well or to let us know if she has seen a problem. She's made maintaining our hot tub much less of a chore than it used to be.

Kat came, investigated the situation--which involved removing three different panels as our tub didn't have its functioning parts beneath the visible outer control panel (go figure!!), and discerned that we had a bad heating coil. She took out the old one and installed a new one that she already had "on board." Considering it was a non-standard tub and in a tricky location, it went smoothly and quickly.

They are wonderful. They are hard to get, but we are always willing to wait for them if they have a hold up. They are always prompt and on time. They know what they’re doing and keep us informed during the project. I would recommend them to others.

We were going on an extended vacation and didn't want my 70-yr old mom to have to worry about the spa chemicals - they came out a couple of times and we came back to a perfectly maintained hot tub! She even did some extra stuff, like wiping down the cover :-)

When we needed maintenance service for our spa, we called one company that was recommended to us. Their idea of customer service however was not in line with ours. I went onto Angies List to search for alternatives and found The Spa Doctor. When I called Karen, I got an immediate response with clear and concise information. No hidden costs or after the fact up-sell. Clear to the point. She showed up on time, did the work in a very thorough manner and it was all in all a very positive experience. Throughout, Karen was very friendly and open and explained what was going on. Again, no surprises and reasons to complain. Job well done, and recommended.

We last used The Spa Doctor when there was a large freezing event. Our hot tub heater failed and we lost the hot tub to freeze damage. Karen was amazing. She sent somebody out to see if we were able to save it (we weren't), then encouraged us to talk with our insurance company. Our situation happened to be covered by insurance since the hot tub is built into the deck and considered part of the house. She coached us through the claim process and went to bat for us when the insurance company tried to insinuate that the freeze damage was due to improper maintenance on our part. We ended up with a beautiful brand new hot tub installed!! We now call her whenever we need assistance with maintenance. We have another appointment scheduled right now...
