RCS Fireplace

Rusty was really great! We never actually met in person, because we had moved out of our house to renovate it before selling it, so we communicated on the phone and by email. His labor costs were half of what another company who wanted to rip us off was trying to charge us. He also offered to sell us a log gas insert that another customer had decided against using for a good price because we were not that particular about what model we wanted, we just wanted the gas fireplace to work again. He completed the job on the specified date, and we went to check up on it later and everything was perfect. Thanks Rusty!

Very well. The technician was prompt and very thorough. One fireplace was not working but only needed adjustments. I would definitely hire this contractor again.

Since we still had issues we called RCS. The tech that came out figured out the issue right away after we told him the symptoms and what had already been done by a different company. He figured out that the issue was the switch on the wall that turns on the fireplace. Who would expect that?! After replacing the switch and doing a normal service since it was time for that again, everything has been working great. They might be a little more expensive than some other companies but they sure know what they are doing. We had to wait a few weeks before they could come out since they were pretty backed up during the winter but it was worth the wait.

I used RCS Fireplace back in December of 2016. It was all part of the deal, I bought it through Aqua Quick. He did the work quick. I would tell others that they are efficient and I had no problems with them. He cleaned up very well after the work was completed. There was only one worker and I didn't come in contact with any of them.

Great ! Showed up on time and was able to fit in before Christmas which was nice. Regular company I used was booked through the holidays.

Went well, he came out and was friendly and knowledgeable. They did call a few days earlier to change the appointment time (I had read this in other reviews), but it was only by about an hour, and was completely fine with me. The work was performed well, and it looks great!

The service was performed professionally and I had a working gas fireplace afterwards.

The tech who did the inspection was on time, professional and helpful. It appeared we needed new burners and the company was supposed to call us back to discuss options. I never heard back and had to call three times, each time I was promised a call-back, which never happened. After more than a month I called back again and said don't bother.

Hired RCS to service a faulty box and wall switch and found that the valve was not functioning and wall switch wires were burned out. They setup a temporary workaround to use the fireplace while the remote unit was on order. On the second visit they setup the remote and the fireplace is working great again. R.P. did the installation and service and was a very helpful and professional technician. There were some communication misunderstandings about the 2nd service charge but Rusty, who is the owner, took the time to call me back and we got the issue resolved. It's very refreshing to work with a business owner that truly cares about a customer's experience. I would recommend this company just be sure you are clear on what is being done and the expected cost.

Heather showed up right on time and was awesome. Very friendly and professional. My 3 year old loved watching her work. Will definitely use this company again the next time we need to service the fireplace.

I waited approximately 2 weeks for an appointment and unfortunately due to a miscommunication with my address and contact information, RCS did not show to the first appointment. I called the next day to check in because these guys had amazing reviews and something didn't seem quite right. I spoke to Rusty and he was on it. He fit me into the schedule within a couple of days to make up for the miscommunication. The sweeper was on time, he was pleasant and he wasted no time in getting the job done. My house is going through some serious renovations and is completely gutted, but he took the time to clean it as if I were living in it. I feel he was thorough in his inspection and worked hard to get the job done. I gave this company A's because we are all human and stuff occasionally happens. Unfortunately it happened to me, but I really feel this company went out of their way to make sure I was completely satisfied and that's what sets them apart from the rest. Thanks guys!!!

Rusty showed up and took measurements and never submitted a bid. I wrote a bad review because he never responded, which is posted somewhere below. He says that he submitted a bid and we said it was too much. He is a stinking liar. He never sent a bid and we never heard from him again. I would not trust him if I were you. There are plenty of reputable business people to choose from but RCS Fireplace is not one of them. He counts on people not checking back to see his response to negative reviews. Well I did, Rusty, and I stand by my statement, you are a liar. Really, if you didn't want the job why not just say so.

Good, but it was 2-3 times more expensive than other places.. I should have asked the price first before hiring them..

When the glass in our 1998 gas fireplace broke, RCS came out, took the framework back to the shop, and constructed a new piece of glass and frame work for it. Upon installation of the new piece, Rusty didn't think it fit snugly enough so he took it back to the shop and made the necessary adjustments to assure a proper fit. We greatly appreciate Rusty's advice, diligence, and persistence in addressing the idiosyncrasies of a 18 year old insert, and thank him for his effort and a job well done. We had a great experience working with RCS and will seek them out in the future.

Rusty came out and gave us a bid on installing a gas insert in our fireplace. On the night before he was to do the install, we changed our mind about installing in the spot the fireplace was in as it was off-set from the center of the wall and always looked kind of wrong to us. Unfortunately, Rusty didn't get the text I sent that night so he showed up at 8:00AM the next morning with the insert ready to go. When I broke the news, I was ready to hear some serious pushback, but on the contrary he was completely professional and didn't squawk one bit. He actually had suggested tearing it out and moving a new full-sized (42") fireplace in the center of the space when he came out the first time - which is exactly what we did. Even though it was obviously a big inconvenience for him, he never made us feel like the dumb homeowners who changed their mind at the last minute. RCS offers a 3-year installation warranty and they even come back 1 year from install date to inspect the work at no charge. Pretty top shelf service. Ended up costing a fair amount more than we had planned, but it was so worth it. Rusty and Raul worked tirelessly, and cleaned up after themselves each day. The work was done really well and they were personally pleasant to work with. True professionals. If you have any need for a fireplace or stove, or just need yours to be inspected by a pro, I would highly recommend you at least talk to these guys first. Great experience!

RCS inspected my gas fireplace that had stopped working. Pilot light would not stay lit. After suggesting and completing several "this will fix the problem" solutions, none of which worked, my bill had reached $300, incl tax. The next suggested "this will fix the problem" idea was to replace the entire unit. That would have brought the cost to over $800. When I asked whether I would be responsible for the entire $800 if the replacement didn't work, the repairman said, "yes, of course." No way was I paying these people another dime.

Lead time to actual appointment was rather long, but worth it because of all the A ratings

The company was very responsive and helpful. They called to remind me of the appointment the day before and then again an hour or so before. The service man who came out was extremely helpful in answering all my questions. Besides the gas log I have a wood burning stove with an electric fan in the house I had recently purchased. He looked it over and explained what it is and how it works. Then cleaned and found a small gas leak in the pipe of my gas log that was preventing the pilot light from working. I would definitely use them again!

We had a couple other different companies out over the years to try to figure out why our fireplace kept turning off. This technician diagnosed the problem right away and fixed the issue. We have had no problems since. He definitely knew his stuff. So glad to have found this company. He also did a very thorough cleaning, much more than previous companies have done. Excellent!

I was really impressed by Rusty's attention to detail, fair pricing, and knowledge of our fireplace. I will absolutely use RCS Fireplace again!
