I called and they were here the next day. They didn’t need the part and they came back with it the next day. They took care of the problem, right away. They did the work very promptly. They were very courteous. I thought they did a good job. I didn’t do a lot of checking but I thought their price was reasonable.

I had a problem with a soot smell in the house with a recently installed natural gas insert installed in my former wood burning/gas log fireplace (insert was installed by another company than RCS) and I called RCS and they helped remedy the situation that the original installer might have thought about before it became a problem. RCS came out twice and ultimately at my request pulled out the insert and cleaned the chimney which greatly helped reduce the smell. RCS did everything I asked them to in a timely manner and kept a clean work area.

I took advantage of an Angie's List special deal. I did not know what to expect since I had never had any service done to my fireplace since it was installed in 2005. I bought the special deal because the price was right. Rusty called me within a day or two after I purchased the deal to make the appointment. He was very friendly and extremely accommodating. He arrived on time and set to work immediately. He was very conscientious about the smell the paint might produce when he retouched the inside of the fireplace. Made a great suggestion to improve the appearance of the fireplace. I liked the service so much I enrolled in the company's annual maintenance program. I highly recommend RCS Fireplace should you need such services.

He did an excellent job of cleaning everything and repainting portions to protect the metal surfaces. He explained why I couldn't light the fireplace by the switch (purely an operator error). He was very careful, removing his shoes while in the house and placing a protective sheet to protect the carpeting and vacuming everything up. He graciously looked at a second fireplace in our house and made some recommendations which I appreciated. I purchased this service from Angies List Big Deal and certainly received my money's worth. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I contacted RCS Fireplace via Angie's List and had a response the same day. All I really needed was someone to ensure my gas fireplace was safe to use, and show me how to use it. We've lived in our home for 2 years and never used it. The gentleman who came out was polite and clean. He looked over the fireplace, ensured it was safe, and reassured me that we couldn't use it because wires had been disconnected (in other words, he was polite). He spent time cleaning the fireplace so it looked better than when he left it, and the cost didn't reflect the extra time.

The technician arrived on time to fix our fireplace. He explained that sometimes the heavy cold air will make it difficult for the fireplace to light. He primed the pilot light and it lit on the first try. Since there was not any cleaning or parts needed, he charged me half of the normal service call fee. He took the time to explain how these fireplaces work. I will definately use this company again if needed and would not hesitate to recommend them to others. Excellent service.

I called RCS to fix our gas fireplace which would not stay lit. My husband was deploying and he wanted to know that if the power went out again for several days, we'd have some source of heat. When I called and was told the initial service fee, I thought it was a bit high and feared the additional cost of the repairs. But they got good reviews and we were on a tight timeline. After some initial scheduling confusion, they came out the same week and cleaned and repaired the entire fireplace for only $9 more than the service fee. I was very pleased with the overall cost and knowing that we'll be able to stay warm inside when the snow and wind knock the power out. We would definitely use them again.

They came to my home and removed the Fireplace screen to make the repair and adjusted the Firebox while the were at my home.

Overall I thought the service was excellent from the moment I called to the moment that they arrived at my house. They made two visits out to our house in those times came when they said they would.

RCS came out and inspected the fireplace, checked the mix of fuel and explained that the fireplace "smoke" was actually condensation build-up that would burn off as the fireplace warmed up, if it had not been used in a while. He also documented that it was safe to use. I appreciated his straight-forward approach and prompt service.

I was very impressed by the quality and professionalism. When I initially called to make appointment, I was given dates to choose from as well as initial price for visit for what I asked to be done. The day of the appointment, Randy was great. He came in and talked with me about what he was going to do. He then went out and got his equipment and cloths to make sure no dirt etc was on my rug. He did maintenance and went the extra mile to clean the gas logs etc. My neighbor asked him a few questions and he did go to their house to finish the conversation after he was done with my home. I would definitely recommend this group to others and plan to use them again when needed.

Rusty came out and listened to what we wanted done. He provided details on what is typically done and helped with suggestions where we were unsure of how something would look or how it should be done He provided a reasonable estimate which we compared with two other firms that had also bid for the job. After giving the job to Rusty, we scheduled four days to complete the work over two separate weeks. Rusty and Dave showed up on time each day and did all of the work required even though it took longer in some cases than they had originally thought. Our fireplaces have turned out beautifully and everyone that visits has commented on how nice they look. We could not be happier with the job done by RCS Fireplace.

I called RCS Fireplace because we have lived in our house since it was built 14 years ago and have never had our gas fireplace cleaned or serviced. Last winter we had some power outages and this year we wanted to make sure that we had our gas fireplace in good working order. The technician arrived on time and was very professional. He performed a thorough examination and explained everything that he was doing. He tested for gas leaks and provided me with safety information about the fireplace. The fireplace looks and works wonderfully since we had it serviced. Why did we wait so long?

Apparently RCS went out of business sometime between the the first time I spoke to Rusty, the owner, and the 2nd time I tried to reach him to find out when he'd be out to look at the fireplace that needed repairs. There was no response to emails or phone calls and ultimately the website disappeared.

I used RCS Fireplace and I was very satisfied with their service. We had a problem with our gas fireplace insert. The vent was blocked in a way that was making the main burner to shut off. He fixed the vent so it would vent correctly. He showed up when he was supposed to. He was courteous and conscientious. He took precautions to keep from contaminating or making dirty the area where he was working. Which is significant when you are working with a fireplace. He followed up and the charge was reasonable.

First, I would recommend Rusty and RCS Fireplace for anything you might want done concerning fireplaces. He and his crew are very professional, polite, and take pride in the work they do. They are on time and keep you informed of their timeline, and what they are doing. They do very good work. I wanted to get my chimney repaired and have a gas insert installed. Rusty was very good at providing me with options and helping me select the appropriate insert for my fireplace. I met him at his mantel supplier where I picked out wood, tile, and mantel style. Rusty and his people arrived on time the morning we set to start work. It seemed pretty obvious that getting the gas piped into the fireplace was a little harder than expected but the guys kept at it until the job was done. When I had taken down the picture above my old fireplace I had discovered a bulge in the wall. This problem needed to be investigated and repaired. Rusty is very good at designing and building as a project progresses. In any remodel job, you never know what you're going to find until you get into the job. Rusty found the problem and the cause. He gave me several options on how he could repair and finish the job. He obviously loves his work. I decided to have wood to the ceiling instead of drywall. By the end of 3 days I had a working gas insert, mantel and hearth installed, with the top mantel framed and electricity with two recessed lights installed. Also, the chimney was cleaned, sealed and new flashing was installed. When the wood for the upper mantel was ready, it took about 1 1/2 days to install and complete the top. I'm very happy with my fireplace and the job that Rusty and his 3 employees did for me. It was a great experience.

I called his shop looking for assistance with my thermostat in order to get my gas stove operating for the winter. He was very good at providing assistance over the phone and I was able to get the stove operating.

They showed up on time, had all their equipment, and were finished on time. Overall, great experience.

Rusty was referred by a friend who was really pleased with his work. We had been shopping for a fireplace for a couple of months and met Rusty and found him to be very personable and trustworthy. We looked at his cataloge, liked what we saw and made the imediate decison to go with him. Basically, he did everything he promised to do and we are relieved that we made the right decision. Because of this we are hiring him to work on our backyard BBQ and Firepit. We enjoy our fireplace every single day. Majed Lukatah

(8/2009) Rusty did a good job putting it all together. He was friendly and took care of the conversion issue between the odd sized "discontinued floor model" free standing gas stove and the standard size stove pipe with minimal delay.(7/2011) While having my house re-sided I decided to have the deck gas line extension removed since I hadn't used it. I called Rusty and he remembered the details of the original install and where I lived based only on my name and the fact that I'd had two units installed. Rusty popped out and took care of it. My son had noticed that the siding crew had shifted the thru-wall stove pipe inward an inch or two. Rusty inspected the stove pipe connection to make sure it hadn't been damaged and adjusted the placement of the free standing gas stove so that the stove pipe was aligned correctly again. All at no charge and with his usual friendly manner.
