RCS Fireplace

Arrived as scheduled, diagnosed, fixed and departed.

It went good. Everybody had the same idea about the big deal and they were so backed up, it took them about a month and a half to come out. When they did, it worked out fine. The fireplace before didn't work at all and now it does. It turned out fine. I wasn't there but my wife didn't have anything bad to say. If anyone was considering having them come out and do work for them, I would say go for it. There's no reason to hesitate.

The service was very good. They were excellent. They were very courteous and punctual. They did a real good job. The price was reasonable. We've seen the same services offered at quite a bit more. We referred them to our daughter.

I called and had a gentleman come out to my house to give an estimate on some options for our outdoor natural gas grill. He was nice and friendly, was on time....he took measurements etc. I waited two weeks and no response, so I called and was told that someone would get back to me with an estimate, called again today and although the man who answered the call was nice, he basically told me that the estimate had not been done. I am very frustrated that I wasted almost 3 weeks to compare estimates.

RCS did an excellent job cleaning the fireplace insides and glass and even added a few rocks to improve the performance/look. They were highly responsive, arrived on time, kept the workspace clean and were very cordial. Will definitely have them out again for any service needs.

The professional that came to the home was courteous and friendly. He went above and beyond to explain what and why he was doing everything that he did to service two gas fireplaces. The fireplaces were 15 years old and had never been serviced. The glass on each fireplace was so foggy that we were certain that it would need to be replaced. When he finished, both fireplaces looked brand new! I would definitely recommend this company!

They were punctual and friendly. They did the job. The price is good. The first time he came out and took it apart and he came back four days later and spent over an hour working on it. It works great. He cleaned it.

Shortly after purchasing my Angie's coupon I was contacted by RCS Fireplace to schedule my service. We set a date and time, just a week out from my purchase. The technician called me at work 20 minutes before his scheduled arrival time so that I could get home to meet him. (This was great...I didn't need to take any unnecessary time away from work.) We discussed what he would be doing and approximate length of time it would take, he then brought in his tools and layed down a large protective cover over the area in front of the fireplace. He completed the service within a the time frame he had given me, the fireplace looked great, the flames were more evenly distributed, and the surrounding area was clean. I was very pleased with his work and professionalism, and would recommend RCS Fireplace.

Within a few hours of purchasing the Big Deal online, I received a call from Randy to set up an appointment. He arrived promptly, took the time to lay a cloth down on the floor and went to work. He explained what he would be doing prior to starting. Based on past experience with having the fireplace cleaned, Randy did an excellent job. He also offered me a cleaning for late next spring.

Rich called and set up an appointment. He arrived on time ( calling first to let me know he was on his way) He was very courteious, set out a tarp on floor to make sure the area he worked in stayed clean. He was also very informative of what he was doing and why. When I need my fireplace serviced again, I will definiteley call him again!

He was right on time, very professional and friendly. I told him that for the past couple years the fireplace wouldn't stay lit and then the pilot light would go out. He took everything out of the fire box repainted the inside. Cleaned and adjusted all the fittings and connections. He put all the logs, rocks and flint back in the correct place. He also found that some of the wiring was done wrong so, he fixed that. I have reprogrammed the thermostat that it is connect to and now it works and looks like a brand new gas fireplace. It's beautiful! Thank you!

We bought our house 6 months ago so figured it would be wise to have the fireplace cleaned and inspected, especially since it had an intermittent issue where it would turn off at random then go into a beeping error state. The fireplace was fairly clean to start with, but we wanted a professional to get in, and hopefully fix the issue, and at least diagnose it. Rusty showed up on time and suggested the intermittent problem was due to volumes of cold air and opening the glass a tad would alleviate it. He laid some new embers and wiped down the glass. I can't tell that anything else was done -- cobwebs were still in the corner, for instance. That night after our appointment, I turned on the fireplace and the flames shut off after 2-3 minutes. They wouldn't stay on after that at all. Our fireplace had gone from intermittent functionality to completely non-working after our "service" appointment. We contacted RCS, and they couldn't come back for another 2 weeks, and were planning on charging us for that service call. So, I spent an hour disassembling and diagnosing my own fireplace and discovered the pilot assembly needed cleaning and minor adjusting. Now my fireplace works 100% of the time. I expected more from a well-reviewed company like RCS. I wanted them to take responsibility and "do the right thing", which would have been to return ASAP and ensure our fireplace was in proper and safe working order for no charge... and if the diagnosis had been more than a cleaning, to provide an estimate (since the big deal was technically only for a cleaning). Our experience was one of a company looking to do the bare minimum and not go any amount of extra distance. It could even be argued they failed to do the bare minimum of cleaning the fireplace, as I would classify the problem with our fireplace to be one of "cleaning".

The service technician was prompt, professional, and did an outstanding job.

They were very punctual. I found out when they came out that it was not plugged in all the way. The handled the situation professionally.

They called me almost as soon as I bought the deal from Angie's List, within a couple of hours . I was impressed by that in itself! I called for the appt. they were very pleasent, worked with my schedule and arrived on time. But best of all , he fixed my fireplace!!! It had not worked since 2006, I wasn't sure it was even fixable. But he fixed it and made it so my remote worked. ( it had worked only occasionally before then it at all) I am extremely happy with the work RCS did!! He also took it apart, cleaned and polished every part of it! I would recommend them highly!

Outstanding. RCS Fireplace was immediately responsive to my request to schedule an appointment, and we set the appointment for only a few days after that. The service was much more than I expected - RCS undertook a lot of cosmetic work to the fireplace components in addition to getting the fireplace into working order (which, it turns out, it was not when RCS arrived). It now looks and works great, and I told Rusty he'd be my first call when we decide to replace the faux rock around the fireplace with a wood mantel.

Called for appointment and was schedule within a couple of weeks. Timely arrival after a call letting me know of his delay. Was very concious of keeping rug and areas around fireplace clean. Showed me what he had done before returning the glass fixture.

We especially appreciated the cleanliness that was shown--that was very important to us. The two associates who visited our home were punctual, extremely effiecient, very courteous, and most professional.

Overall, it went great. I was pleased with the quality of service provided.

Fireplace would not light for 3 yrs finally decided to have it fixed when we saw the special on Angies list.

My only (small) complaint is that he was late (and I took time off work to be home), but it was because he was flooded with jobs from their Angie's List deal, and he did call to let me know, but not until I was already at home waiting for him. I think if he didn't have so many jobs all at once this wouldn't have been an issue. Work was great, fireplace is working better than before and looks good. I would definitely hire this company for any work we need in the future.
