He was very good and neat. Scheduling was easy and he called to see if he could come early for the appointment.

Chimney sweep cleaned my main chimney. After the cleaning showed me pictures of imperfections my my chimney stack and rotting wood around my celestory windows, which have nothing to do with the chimney. Today I received a bid to completely rebuild my chimney in the tune of $8000+ dollars, which is a complete rip off. I will never recommend them. I am really offended that Angie's list put this team forward. Do NOT use them! They are looking for business an NOT your best interest.

The guy who came had just started with the company a few weeks earlier so really could tell me nothing about the chimney. They did perform the work promptly for a good price but I have little faith in how complete the work is.

The provider called ahead of time to notify me that he could come early. He did. The service was done well and he also gave us information for repairs that could be done to the exterior of the chimney. Once we have a final estimate we most likely move forward with the service.

When we bought the house, we knew from our home inspection that the chimney had been neglected in the past: it had not been swept/maintained in a while, and no damper was installed. We used the $99 offer on Angie's List to have the chimney swept and inspected, which is when we also learned about the extent of the other issues (cracks in flue, decayed mortar from years of neglect, ...). Powers Chimney & Masonry provided us quotes for various options, we chose the most comprehensive approach which included taking the chimney down to the roofline and re-building it, as well as the installation of a top-mounted damper for $1850. The company gave us 5.5% off for coming to them via Angie's List. The re-build included haul-away of debris, but they were happy to leave some of the brick for us to re-use in other projects. Most impressive though was the communication with their office manager (Melody): She responded quickly to email, gave us notice well in advance when they expected a service bottleneck that might require re-scheduling the service and made it possible to come out on the original date anyway. Later, when the top-mounted damper froze in cold weather preventing it from opening, they responded super quickly by coming out the next day and making sure everything was in working order as well as explaining how to deal with a frozen damper without having to go on the roof. Bottom line: They met our expectations, the price was reasonable for the services provided, and with their responsiveness they have earned our trust going forward.

I have used Power's Chimney & Masonry 2 years in a row to clean my wood stove and chimney. They always do a great job, are quick, courteous and professional. Their rates are very reasonable and they take the time to ensure everything is safe and in order. I will use them every year, I'm sure.

They did a reasonably good job of sweeping the chimney and controlling the resulting soot within the house. Unfortunately, they also aggressively pushed to rebuild the firebox citing safety hazards. I got a second opinion from another service provider I've used before, and that has been in the area a long time with a great reputation. They saw no need to rebuild the box, believed there to be no safety issue, and noted the cleaners had left a pile of soot behind the damper. We have replace the small amount of missing mortar in the box with an approved product. Next year I will get the cleaning done by this company in the summer before they book up. After a follow-up call from Powers Chimney in which I conveyed the comments from my second opinion provider, they had the owner review the information. It was relayed to me that the owner had reviewed a picture of my firebox and agreed with his workers. I asked for a copy of this picture to confirm it is in fact mine, and have not received one. Update: I did receive the picture. It is my chimney. Difference of opinion clearly on how much work needed to be done.

Everything went really well. The guys were on time and very polite. The cleaning and inspection didn't take too long. They gave me a report of the chimney's condition (mine was in good condition so it fairly quick discussion). Best part was that they did a really nice job cleaning up. I'm assuming they did a good job of cleaning the inside; I really haven't stuck my head up there to check :)

They arrived promptly and inspected both chimneys from the top of the house and then cleaned the log fireplace. They left a quote for some additional work to be done and we are considering that now.

They arrived promptly and performed the cleaning and inspection. The reason for the midlevel grade is that they provided an estimate to redo the chimney stating we had had a chimney fire and that the chimney needed to be rebuilt. I had our mason come out and he said work was not necessary and there was no sign of fire. I think they use this service as a way to try and get repair work, whether it's necessary or not.

He did a very thorough job with cleaning and cleaned up after himself. He did a complete inspection and explained it all to us. We may do some of the required work ourselves but will not hesitate to call them back to do what we cannot.

The service went fine. They did exactly what the deal stated. They also left a quote for a repair on the chimney. My wife primarily dealt with the technicians. She was happy with the work they did. I had no problem scheduling the deal.

Professional, On Time, very knowledgeable. They came out to do a cleaning on our chimney. Did the work and helped identify future issues so we could proactively address them v calling for repairs later. They seem like a good company to work with.

I was worried I would have to pay mre because after I bought the deal it stipulated an additional cost for fireplace inserts. He arrived right on time, only took him 1/2hr and it didn't cost me anything extra! He eve explained to me what to burn and not to burn in my fireplace! EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE!!

It think that could have gone a lot smoother. Message through Anglie's list are not great ways to communicate - in the end, I just picked up the phone and called which is what they should have done from the start.

It was fine. Two employees came out and there was nothing they found with the inspection. They just did the chimney sweeping.

Came out as scheduled and informed us that our chimney couldn't be cleaned until they replaced the cap. Because of the slope of the roof, they would have to provide scaffolding which was an upcharge, and they recommended we get several things repaired at the same time to avoid a repeat of the scaffolding charge. They said it would take two days to the tune of $2000.00 A lot more than we had intended to spend to get our chimney cleaned... They showed up a day later than scheduled, worked one day, and said they were done. Did not clean woodstove glass and didn't put our patio furniture back...left it scattered in the yard. For a $2000 bill for one day's work, I would expect everything to be put back the way they found it and the wood stove glass to be cleaned as part of the cleaning. I contacted Powers and let them I felt they should clean the glass and have put the furniture back...got nothing but a card hoping we would use their service again. Probably not.
